For not doing a darn thing this week, it sure flew by quickly. My back is still in bad shape and it is really frustrating me. I reached down to put some socks on this more and *@#$#@* - I could feel the twinge starting but I still had to get upright again. Last night, I was hoping that I could scoop the lawn and maybe clear some of the leaves off of my lilies and irises today. Gary was practically begging me to not do that and I see he is right. (mark today in history that I admitted he was right :D )
It was fabulous to open the windows yesterday and get some fresh air in the house. Darn, I really want to be outside. I can't even sit out there, everything is filthy.

Besides wishing I was in the yard, I didn't do much else of anything. I wasn't in a bad mood just in brain-shutdown mode. I guess will be in the same situation again today. Nothing really that I can do. I feel too good to spend the day lounging around but at the same time, not good enough to do what I want to do. [gaah smilie rolling pin smilie]

@scrap-genie Thanks for the link about the redpolls- I learned a new phrase- Irruptive migrant. We have the same weather forecast today, warm but lots of wind. I blocked the projects and will get a few pictures today. It is very obvious that I lost stitches along the way but it is fine, cats can't count. They probably can but they won't let us know!

@taxed4ever woooohoooooo on the oven repair!! What are you going to cook in there first? Why in the world would anyone make fun of Mason for losing his teeth, don't they realize it happens to everyone? of course they don't, it isn't how kids' brains work. Live only in the moment, right? I bet he looks adorable! Since my yard is so shady, hostas seem to do well. the ones that Scott put in for me a few years ago have already been split twice and I had to move another last year since it was getting crowded out. I haven't been back there yet to see if they all made it through the winter but I am optimistic that they did.

@bcgal00 I am thrilled to hear about Remi and all of that energy- it has to be a great sign that she is on the mend. She must be a piece of work! Has she figured out that giving that "puppy look" will melt your heart yet especially if she did something wrong? :)

@Cherylndesigns I wish I could send you wifi help. Would a booster help? I can't remember what exactly we have, but we have boosters in our house since we had a bunch of dead spots. I read that in the American Recovery Plan there is money for improving broadband access in rural areas so perhaps that will (eventually) help.
Hope that your back feels 100% soon.

@felis- Gald you had a satisfying day, hoping you continue to have them!
I will have to look more into the no-digging gardens. We have a compost pile that will get restarted now that the weather is better. Over the winter I don't compost, too much work to get out back. ;)

Good morning ladies. Remi is sleeping in her crate now so I've probably got 15 minutes to myself (I already blow dried hair and dressed which used up some of the sleeping time lol). I was up at 3 with Remi and then at 5 she decided it was time to get the day started. I told her no, its sleep time, and she howled and thrashed around in her crate for 15 minutes before falling back asleep until 6:30 but I never did go back to sleep, I just closed my eyes and listened to soothing music.

I've been talking to other aussie owners and most tell the same tale, lots of energy, chewing, barking, biting but it all starts to calm down a bit with training and age. So....if I can get thru the next 2 yrs she will be relatively calm LOL. I told D this morning that I am perfectly ok with all of this b/c her boundless energy keeps Taz and I busy and we'll all get lots of exercise. I'm happy to give up some scrap time for dog time.

I took the dogs out the back gate into the school yard last night. Two aussies were there and they ran with Taz for a bit and then the younger one (11 mths) ran running over to Remi who was scared and barked at him. But 5 min later she walked over to him, they touched noses and she wasn't scared anymore. It was so good to see that. She is slowly coming out of her fearful stage. She did well at the pet stores yesterday (got her a new pink halter), meeting lots of people and a few dogs.

Today I'm getting a haircut, nice and short, so it'll be easy to take care of. I'm working on tax stuff this wkend, Bella will come for a doggie playdate and I hope to watch some PVR stuff b/c its getting full.

@faerywings I really hope your back feels better over the wkend. Do not push yourself. You know you need time to heal.

I'm getting another coffee and then better get started at my day. Enjoy the day everyone BFN.

Morning everyone! Another bright blue sky out there, but man the breeze is chilly!! Why are we having so much wind this spring?? Still frost on everything when we get up. I am so happy that my oven is fixed!! I am right now baking some mini banana loaves and so far everything is still working! (knocks on wood) The house is starting to have that wonderful baked smell! We don't have too much planned today, grocery pick up and cleaning the front porch so we can put down the outdoor rug. Too early to look for plants darn it. Yesterday my DH spent most of the day cleaning his BBQ and putting in new grill plates, the old ones were so bad that they were falling apart. It looks all shiny and new again and ready for BBQ season. One more job ticked off of his to do list. Watched the Bruins play the Islanders last night, it was a bit of disappointment. Our team is looking pretty ordinary, not the great team that they used to be. But we still love them LOL. So many fabulous layouts in the gallery! The Birthday Party will be winding down soon and that is sad! Oh well we still have until the end of the month to get our layouts done and participate in the games. It's been another fabulous Obirthday!!

@faerywings - Awww I feel so badly for you! Darn spasms in your back! Oh well you really didn't want to scoop poop did you?? I know right, why would anyone tease you about losing your front teeth! Obviously the ones that do it have not lost theirs yet! Mason already has issues about so many things, this is really not helping at all! Heather tried to face time with me this morning and Hunter was in a real mood, so she had to say good-bye and deal with him. I wish I could go over and give her a break for a while! It will be good that our son and his family will be staying with Heather and the boys over Easter, it should keep the kids all occupied and hopefully the weather will be great and they can spend lots of time outside! Hope that your hostas have wintered well and you did not lose any! Mine have all but disappeared over the past couple of years and it would be nice to have some new ones for sure!

@bcgal00 - Your Remi is certainly keeping you busy and active! Not such a bad thing right? Sounds like she is one lucky dog to have such a loving family to care for her! Nice that she is getting over her fears! Enjoy your time at the hairdresser, it will be great to have a nice short cut that you don't have to fuss with too much! Enjoy the sunshine today!

Ok my banana loaves are ready to come out of the oven and I will grab my second cup of coffee and then get my morning chores done. I think that it will be car washing day today. Have a wonderful Friday everyone! (waving to you all!)

Good afternoon! Got my Covid vac today! I thought we were getting the J&J (one shot) but we gave up and told them we'd take the first available. They called at 8 this am and told us they had them waiting for us. We went in about 11 and our DD (the nurse) said she's secretly glad that we got the Mederna. She trusts that one a lot more and has been in on the ground level of research since it began. So, it worked out well. She said she doesn't know as much about the J&J, but is sure it's just effective. According to her, it just takes longer to actually give your body real immunity. Our SIL got a J&J yesterday and he's had a bad reaction to it. We all go to the same dr now and he said the nurse told him they gave him the last J&J that they had. I hope he doesn't get really sick, but Ava was just here and said he was pretty sick last night. They were here for dinner and he seemed fine then.

Ava's off to Lowe's to get more lumber. It has sky rocketed - the price is ridiculous - like gas. Roger (SIL) showed us a funny meme last night. This couple dressed in evening wear and the caption was "take me someplace expensive". They were dining by candlelight in an aisle with lumber stacked up on both sides. SO funny!

Chris, I'm so sorry your back is still so bad. Maybe you could gingerly use one of those rakes with the spread out tines (leaf rakes I think they're called)

I just wanted to pop in and say hi and then I'm going outside to plant my seeds. I got some seed starter today and already have my seeds and the little containers. I'm just starting my herb garden inside. We're going to look at plants tomorrow, I think.

Waves and hugs all around.
