TGIF! 5 More Days!!!

Happy Friday! It is going to be a perfect Spring day here in NJ. I hope it is like this everywhere. Sunny and expected to hit 73*
You see why I am dancing like Snoopy over that?

I am not dancing just yet, but I will be later.
Caitlyn texted me at 5.15 this morning to let me know that Cordelia was not doing well and if I wanted to come up to say goodbye it was time. She turned 3 and a half yesterday (!!!!!) and we think she was just hanging on to hit that milestone. As hard as it was, Caitlyn was thankful that she was able to hold her and we pet her as she passed.
Scott had gotten home from his moonlight hike around 4 am and the dogs barking woke her up. When she went over to the cage, she saw that Dilly was breathing but mostly unresponsive. She snuggled with her and then texted me when she thought that it was a decent time to let me know. By the time I had gotten upstairs, she was starting to gasp a bit. I am really glad that I got to say goodbye. She was literally the *best* rat. Olivia was my favorite but Dilly was the best.
We wrapped her up and got her into a box. At some point, we will bury her by Livvie. Thank goodness that the ground is thawed out. It's bad enough trying to dig in the dirt here with the rocks.

My mom is coming up to visit, we are planning on going to a small town up the mountain into NY State. Grab some lunch and wander into a few of the overpriced shops. I talked to my dad yesterday and he needs to get his replaced hip repaired. It's called hip revision surgery and it needs to get done sooner rather than later. They are both going to need to have post-op help which is gonna be *fun* /s
And they are going to have to get the surgeries scheduled far enough apart that one of them will be able to drive at least around town. I know that between my brother and me, we can handle most of it as long as they don't bicker. (Bwuhahaha! *gasps for breath* *snorts* hahaha!!!)

@LSlycord Sooooo good to see you in the mornings! How is Decker doing with your girls? ( Are you thinking *whispers* that you could still be a backup...)

Oh no, that is sad when the flowers don't make it through the winter. You should do what I do-- I leave them in an extra year-- just in case. hah!! I left a perennial grass last year in a bucket planter, kept watering it, I was hopeful. But it needs to go in the compost this year. Maybe don't take my advice *winks*

@BrightEyes You must be so happy to have DD with you even as she brings her entire office in It will be awesome having company.
I was practically dancing when I found the daffodils were coming up. I was pointing them out to Scott- he would ask, what am I looking at?? Me: The green! Do you see the green!!! Scott: Mom, you know I am color blind!


@taxed4ever Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about your hiking friend. That is horrible.
Good for her for getting out for walks when she is up to it. But still. 3 months is not a long time at all, Heartbreaking.
How fun for Sadie- and Hugh Tea! We took Caitlyn once, what a neat experience.

@bcgal00 Remi will never stop being a working dog, will she? I hope that you listened to your body and rested. In another couple of weeks, you aren't going to have much time to rest. Unpacking should be easier since you got rid of so much? *fingers crossed*

@Cherylndesigns How nice to have all of your girls down for visit and then a chat with Steph. Hope everyone is doing good. I bet the ferns look fab on your porch!

Morning, gals. Woke up at 4 AM but managed to fall back asleep until 8!!! But that could be because Chari and I didn't get in bed until after 11 PM! She got her 'office' set up and all her stuff put in drawers, closet, etc while I put groceries away. Having to think about her being on the knee scooter and shouldn't be bending as to where I put things in fridge and pantry. Will do some rearranging in the fridge today. She is doing a 'trail run' with my leg/foot brace on and using the knee scooter and not putting her foot on the ground today. We have already had to make some adjustments with what chair to use to prop up her foot while working. We will doing the whole trail run including getting in and out of the shower stall. Better to find out the things that need to be adjusted while her leg is still ""okay""??.... LOL The good thing is that it looks like both of us can be on-line at the same time. That will make it easier for me to do my 'normal' routine while she is working.

@faerywings So sorry to hear that Dilly is gone but she really had a long life for a rat. Glad you were with Cait when Dilly passed. So glad that your area has warmed up enough that ground isn't frozen and you can lay her to rest by Livvie. I had to LOL over Scott's 'you know I am color blind' when you pointed out the green sprouts!!!

Guess what??? The plum tree in the backyard sprang open with blossoms yesterday morning when the sun came out!! Just saw little buds the day before then by mid-morning it was full of open blossoms! Crazy as we are back to cooler weather (40's) and below freezing at night. Definitely doing a yo-yo weather wise. None of the rest of trees are budding yet... but saw a cherry tree and another tree in the neighbors' yards that also bloomed yesterday. So spring is finally beginning to show her colors.

Will pop back in later for personals. I need to get something to eat along with another cup of coffee. CYL

Happy Friday everyone! Sure wish we were having the same kind of weather as you are Chris @faerywings !! It is another very grey and cloudy, rainy day here. But at least it isn't snowing and the temps are nice and mild! Yesterday was a blur, did I do anything?? Oh I ran to the Farm Market and picked up some fresh veggies. Made a stop to my fav crafting place and spent far too much on some stencils and inks. I really have to stay away from that place LOL. Came home and made some egg muffins for my DH's breakfast during the week. Played in my Craft room for an hour or so and then it was time to make supper. So Ya I did some stuff, but nothing too productive LOL. I hope to catch up a bit here today and actually sit down and start a layout! Then it will the weekend and I am sure my DH has a ton of things he will want to do. Oh that's something else I did yesterday, I set up my DH's new computer. So I guess I was more productive than I thought!
Ok the boys are calling so I will run and come back shortly for personals! Bye!

I am lurking. Things are still not good around here but at least the stress level has lessened. The calm before another storm I think.

Ok I have had my shower and will do some quick personals! Listening to my google mini and the news is just so depressing! It's usually the only news I listen to all day long, until DH and I sit down to watch our local news station, they usually have some really good news stories on there.

@faerywings - Love, love your countdown today! So happy that you are getting some great weather! Heather was telling me that they are having really warm temps too! She is still sniffling with a cold but the boys seem to be back to normal. Hopefully she will be over this cold or whatever it is by the end of the weekend! So sorry to hear that Dilly has passed!! Hope that Caitlyn is ok!
Give her a big hug from all of us here at the O! Have a great visit with your Mom today! Hope you find something nice, but not too expensive in one of the little shops! Enjoy your time with her!

@BrightEyes - Well aren't you and your DD the smart ones! Getting everything arranged beforehand! How lovely to hear that the tree in your yard is out in blossom! Hope that the cold temps at night don't do any damage to it! Nice that you and your DD can both be online at the same time, that was a good thing to check out too!

Head ache. At least I've managed to scrap some today. Will crawl back into the sofa now for some Friday Night Snacks & Movie. Or I think it'll be Sopranos.... we're down to the last DVD in the box. It sure takes like forever to watch a serie with Urban. That Aussie show I'm watching - I've managed to see 2 1/2 season in 4 days (or it might be 5 days) ... and that counting yesterday when I was working for 8,5 hrs. Urban is such a lazy TV watcher. I think his absolute max is 3 episodes. My personal record is 14 episodes in one day. LOL Binge Watching is my sport!

Other than that:
- tired
- needing to find patterns to match the yarns I've got (since I cannot buy more yarn until 2023)
- fighting the demons and try to be happy
- send me chocolate
- more chocolate

Good afternoon, lovies.

I'm getting a late start today. I've been drinking coffee and chatting with Chuck this morning. We're talking about what we need to get ordered to start seeds inside or just wait and put them outside. I'm so happy he loves and supports my interest in herbs and flowers.

Chris @faerywings I'm so sorry about little Dilly. Is Cordelia ok? I hope so. That's so wonderful and you and Cait got to hold him and love him until he passed away and that the ground is thawed now and you can bury him. Oh boy, your mom and dad both need surgery. That should be fun - not. Yes, they need to schedule them far enough apart that they can help each other.

I went out yesterday and took pictures of my new ferns then when I looked at the pictures, I realized that there were two bags of trash sitting on the porch, waiting to go down to the dumpster. Not a good look. Hahaha We also didn't have the white pads on the chairs. They were still inside. Chuck got them on yesterday and took the trash down, so I'll try again. It's raining today, but this is supposed to be our last day of yukky weather for awhile. Did I tell you he ordered and put together an arch that will go over our front walk? Our sidewalk is extra wide and curves, so he had to look hard for one that fit. It's a trellis, arch and we're going to plant climbing vines on it. I can't wait! I also need to get the hay bales off the porch, too. The kids keep saying they'll come get them, but they keep forgetting. They're still there from Halloween. Hahaha I've run out of holidays to decorate them for.

Kythe @Kythe sorry you're not doing well - hang in there. Can you start walking again? I don't know what kind of weather you're having.

Okay, ya'll, 5 more days! I hope spring is spring up where you are. My Day Lillies are growing by the minute.
