We made it through the week and here we are, another Friday. They are going by so fast it's making my head spin. OTOH, the weather is stuck in the same gear. It's going to change soon, right?

I was basically a bum yesterday. I cleaned for my friend, came home, ate lunch, and then spent almost three hours working on a 2000-piece puzzle. Gary started it but has been so busy with his projects, I've been doing it on my own. Most of the stuff on my To-Do list was ignored. They are all back on it for today. Scott called us last night to say hi. It sounds like he is really enjoying the training in spite of it being really long days. They start at 7 am and he said the night before they were up until almost midnight doing HW. Most of the HW is group work so it's like socializing at the same time. He sounded happy.
I asked him: Guess what I bought??
A: Hiking boots, what else would you have bought for yourself?

:floorlaugh: He knows me too well.

I sent Caitlyn a bunch of pictures and videos of the rats which made her happy. She'll be home at some point before dinner (I think). Scott will be home late tomorrow but is working on Sunday. Dinner together on Monday ♥

We are back to FiF

FiF - Finish it Friday - Things you hope to finish up. A project you started, a layout, a procrastinated chore etc.

My goodness, my list is loooooooong. I have to finish everything on my to-list- yesterday's and today's. It is all silly stuff, like cleaning the coffee pot with vinegar, taking the recycling out, water the plants.

How about you, anything on your desk/calendar that needs to be finished up?
Have fun crossing them all off. (I live for that! LOL)

@taxed4ever What a long but fun day you had on Wednesday. That's a long hike, hope that the terrain wasn't too difficult. How did Linda do, does she hike as often as you do? I can tell that the weather is starting to get nicer because your salad sounds to die for. I always start to crave healthy food more and carbs way less when Spring hits. I can feel it in my gut. Literally :lol23:
Are the hospital tests for FIL or MIL? I hope that they get answers soon too.
Your Gary is 100% a keeper. ♥ He'd better keep that wine flowing since he is going to keep you busy the next three days Bwuahahah!!!
I would have booked a trip if I had gotten that $1000 cleaning job from my dream. Sad to say, it must have fallen through *G*

@LSlycord uuuuugggggh......... I hate computer updates. Were you able to get everything back the way you wanted it?
Fantastic about the Kroger delivery- what a great idea to have a flat rate for that. So jealous of the good produce (see, there it is again, I'm craving produce LOL). I ordered plum tomatoes and the top of one was already black when I got it. They know its not worth it to come inside to return one tomato but man, that makes me grumble in my head
Hope you enjoyed your coffee on the lanai. I want a lanai. I have never been on a lanai and my only "experience" is based on The Golden Girls. But I think I want one. :nod1:
Shaun's dinner sounds delish! I love zucchini (there is it *again!!*) I bet when you did the cooking class with him, that must have really kicked it off.
Gary and I were talking this morning about how this is what it will be like in another year, just the two of us. It's very exciting and a little sad. I know you get that.

@vickyday Yes, Ruth. I'll try to remember her name.
That's awesome that you got the needles in but to stay up to 1 am knitting?!? I would have fallen asleep in the middle of a row and unraveled it all in my sleep. :D

@bcgal00 LOL-- your quiet day sounds like my busy ones. If you got everything done yesterday, I can't imagine you have anything left for FiF. 4 weeks are going to go so fast, very exciting!

Hugs to you all!

here is a picture of the scarf- it's more plum IRL. I'm not sure if I like it with the cowl on top (remember I combined two different patterns on a whim ;) ). It looks better on me when it hangs around my neck. I think.

Good morning ladies. Caught up on The Good Doctor last night, what a great show that is. I rotated the mattress yesterday, laundered all the bedding and washed the floors and doors. Then my back pain worsened so I relaxed last night, watching tv while laying on the floor. Had a good sleep and feel fine today, just my normal achy, dull back pain. Today I'll pick up my new sunglasses, get groceries and we'll visit with friends this afternoon. I decided to make broccoli salad to bring to the St. Paddy's Day party tomorrow. We'll be outside, around a firepit, so will dress in a green sweater but bring a warm jacket.

I need to pop into the dollar store to see if they have any small rubber duckies. If not, I'll order a small bag of them on amazon. Our cruise group will play "duck hunt". We hide our little ducks around the cruise ship and see who finds them. We'll have 3 wks so should be able to find a couple of them maybe. It's just a fun game to play. Whomever finds the most might win a drink or something. I'd never heard of that but I'm all for playing along. The only rule is that we can't hide them in the restaurants, pool area or shops. I'm an early riser so will place mine in early morning but also sometimes in the late evening, looking for dark corners.

@faerywings The cowl scarf is so pretty. Glad you heard from S and that he is enjoying his training.

Remi is poking me and has her head on my knee, softly whining at me. Guess it's time to go feed the birds.

HAGD everyone.

Happy Friday everyone! I slept in until 7:30!! I had a pretty good sleep except for the one hour of tossing and turning trying to figure out what colours I should use for the painting that I am doing. The background needs to be poured this weekend and I have to make a final decision so I can make sure I have the paints that I need to start mixing them up. I was a bit of a slug yesterday and really did not get anything accomplished. I did make it to the post office to pick up my parcel, only to find out that I was at the wrong post office and that the one that I was at would no longer be there next week!! WTH??? The poor woman behind the counter looked very upset and on the verge of tears. I felt so bad for her as I imagine she is losing her Job :rollingpin1:what is wrong with the world??? I told her that I wish there was something I could do for her, she’s such a sweet lady! So I had to drive to the other side of town to finally get my parcel that could have been put in the larger boxes at our mailbox near the house. Guess things are all mixed. Up because of the closure of the little postal outlet that I normally go to. We will now all have to wait even longer in line to mail parcels because there will only be two places to go to in a place where the population is growing and growing!! It makes no sense at all!! Ok I will shut up now.:soapbox:. The parcel was a big order of new stamps that I ordered from the UK and I just love them! I got them all organized and stored in a binder and now I can’t wait to actually use them LOL. Today DH is hoping to get the grass cut and maybe we should wash the car and go for a walk. It’s going to be another sunny day!:lovey3:

@faerywings - You must be looking forward to having everyone under the same roof again!! So nice to hear that everyone is enjoying what they are doing and that they are all happy! SIL Linda used to hike with a group when she lived in Ladysmith, but they stopped hiking when Covid hit. So she got herself a treadmill and uses it faithfully. She is doing well with the hikes, but does say she feels out of shape and gets very stiff after the hikes are over. Hopefully she will continue to go out with our group and get over the stiffness! Oh BTW I love your scarf, it looks very cozy and I bet it looks great on you! Happy Saint Patricks Day to you and your family!!

@bcgal00 - Ha Ha too funny about the rubber ducky hunt! Hope you do well at it! Wow three weeks, that is awesome! I would love to do that cruise, but like I say I can’t get my DH on the B.C. Ferries let alone a cruise ship LOL. Maybe one day I will have to go on my own or with my daughter, that would be great too! Have fun with your friends around the firepit! Hope your back doesn’t give you anymore grief, you will want to be pain free for your lovely trip! What will Remi do without you for 3 weeks???

Well I have had a nice face time with Hunter this morning and read him his favourite book. “The Clown Arounds”. It’s a book that I used to read to Heather and Jason and they loved it too. So glad I hung on to a bunch of books from when the kids were little! I hope that you all have a wonderful day and that you have fun plans for the weekend! :waving1

Hi Trudy,
Just wanted you to know that I was able to format a thumb drive and was able to download some files from my store here onto it. I wanted to test a thumb drive I already had before I actually purchased another 2T EHD. I couldn't format the other EHD without erasing ALL of the files on there! I'm figuring things out slowly but surely and AM liking my MAC the more I use it! Thanks for your help! Don't be surprised if I pick your brain every once in a while! :heartpumplove:

Happy Friday to all!
Rainy today but almost 60*. So Mark is in the house watching TV.
Yesterday was spent with Ilene and Carolyn. Took egg McMuffins and hash browns to them for breakfast. At 12:15 we left for an eye appt. for Ilene. Was supposed to take "a few minutes" but we didn't get out of there until 2:45! We stopped at Arby's on the way back to her house. Then we played Qwirkle the rest of the afternoon. Left around 6:30. Then I spent the evening knitting on my sweater.

Today, I won't be finishing any projects for FiF, except maybe dishes after supper. But that's good for me! I'm working on the MAC until later on. Getting ready to order another 2T EHD so I can download the kits I order directly to it instead of the download folder which ties up the RAM and interferes with working in PSE. At least that's what I figured was probably happening when I had to shut it down on Wednesday.

Have a great day!

@vickyday Thats what I do… have everything on my EHD in the way of my scrapbooking supplies so it frees up the Ram on my Mac. Ask away if you have any questions about your Mac. I love mine and will never go back to a PC
