Well, hello there, Friday!

What a boring and unmotivating week I am going through. I honestly have done nothing except procrastinate. OK, one thing that I did this week was make my appt with my eye doctor. And I guess the DMV counts too. But overall, my To-Do list keeps on piling up and I keep sticking my head in the sand next to it.

I paid some more bills. Having the 2 checking accounts, for the time being, makes it more than a little confusing to me. Gary's Disability Check won't go into the new account until April and I have set up most of the Auto-Pay to the new account so I have to monitor the balances really carefully. Decided to ignore taxes for another day.

I went to the wake with BFFATS. We hadn't seen each other in a really long time so it was nice to catch up with her. Her daughter is spending a semester in Italy and it sounds incredible. She is going out there for a week and they are going to be going all over Italy. *jealous but happy for her*

Today, Caitlyn and I are going to the Dollar store to buy some poster board for our signs for the March next week. I know what I am going to put on my sign. It is going to say "If I wouldn't allow a [picture of a Lego Gun] in my classroom, why would I want a [picture of a handgun]?
I can't tell you how many lego guns I broke up when I was teaching. It was a lot ;)

Just out of curiosity-- any of you outside of the US, is it common for kids to turn anything and everything into guns? And I mean everything. Blocks, twigs, playdoh, food-- if you could manipulate it, it was a gun at some point.

I think I am going to get my blood done today too, as long as I am out. And I need to drop off some books at the library that are due and maybe see if I can find a new one.

Have a wonderful day!

Nancy- that is a great start the Devils have on this road trip, I hope that the momentum keeps up!
How long will DH be away? Enjoy the quiet house.
I saw that too about the bill being written about dogs on the airlines. less than 48 hours after the poor puppy died. 17 people gunned down? Whatever.
I also agree about what a difference in the reaction to BLM protests. Riot gear, tear gas. I was thrilled to see the Parkland group meet with teens from Chicago last week. Maybe that will help.
I think that DMV/Common sense have a very hard time coexisting as you son will attest. LOL

Trudy- we have a bit of sunshine today too and while it will be cold at least the sky will be pretty. That stinks about the pool being closed. You must be happy to have the grands for a few days too. Hoping that Heather and the crew are all feeling better.

Jean- if I didn't post here first thing in the morning I most likely never would. I would think about it all day long but then distract myself again and again. hehe!!
Did the podiatrist give any advice for your feet? Gary might have some neuropathy, the one dr thinks that it is plantar fasciitis, but it could also be Bartonella. Or nerve damage. I try not to worry about him, but it is impossible.
I saw that we might be getting another winter storm next week too. :faint:

Felis- *cries* I can't wait for it to be nice enough to be outside. I am very happy that you can be though. what a relief that you were able to move your aunt's conversations away from gossip.
What did you win??? Congrats!

xoxoxo!!!

good morning - a beautiful day but a cold one. Temps in the low 40s but lost of wind. My son is off at work and Luther is a doggie day care. He was so excited. He talks to everyone and loudly that it is his turn to go into the daycare. They definitely know him. He and I slept a lot yesterday. Up too late watching hockey and then up early to see DH off. He made it with no problems. And he will be back Sunday afternoon. One of his cousins emailed and said that he looks the same and that the men in that family never age which is true. LOL I am so glad he went. I have a few errands to run but then my day is free. No cooking pizza tonight. Last night I made basic burgers but the toppings made the burger extraordinary. The recipe had one jalapeño thin sliced and then marinated it in honey and sherry vinegar. Then you add feta cheese and the jalapeño on top of the burger. My son said it was the best. It was too.

Chris I bet you got more done than this week than you think. I mean DMV is a big one. I agree at least we have the sun but darn where is the heat. I saw on the weather that the spring is to be wetter but above normal in temps. I am still waiting for those warmer temps. Glad you got to catch up with your friend at the wake.

Trudy so glad that you are getting warmer. You will have such fun with the grandkids. I am sure it is a lot of work to keep up but still so fun.

Jean so glad that the senior genealogy went so well and always nice to have someone new. Glad the doctor's visit went so well. Sounds like you are doing every thing correctly for your health. Hope the weather is good and no snow though for me it should be more middle of next week.

Felis so glad you are having such nice weather!

Rae sending hugs as always!

Have a great day all!

Good Friday morning everyone! It is still very dark outside and a bit frosty out there. I woke up very early and did not have a great sleep. I was awake alot last night and so was DH. Not sure why, but at least I can have a nap later if need be, poor Gary cannot, it will be a long day for him! No facetime with Heather today as her and the boys will be doing a Costco run with her In-Laws. Nice that they can get out of the house for the day, she also promised Mason a trip to McDonalds because he has been such a good helper for her all week! So hope that they have a lovely day together!

Chris - Glad that you got to visit with your BFFATS at the wake, how wonderful that her daughter gets to study abroad! I would be jealous too, but you are so sweet to be very happy for her! Make sure you get some photos of you and Cait with your signs! It will make a great scrap page for sure! Hope that you get to cross off a few more things from your to do list today! Say it isn't so that you will be getting yet another blast of winter weather!! OMG you have had enough for one year! As for your question about kids making guns out of everything... well I know that even when I was young little boys were making guns out of sticks and anything they could, more because they wanted to be cowboys though. I hope that you are able to have a nice productive day today my friend!

Nancy - Oh my goodness your meals always sound so great! I would never have thought to put those toppings on a burger! Nice that your son appreciates your good cooking! DH and I were disappointed in the Bruins performance last night, but I guess you can't win all the time! So cute how excited Luther gets when he goes to doggie day care, it must be so funny to see! Glad that you are getting the sunshine today, hopefully the warmth will arrive soon!

Jean - WTG on the great report from the podiatrist! You really must be doing everything right! Always nice to get some new blood in a group gathering, your meetings sound so interesting! I really wish I knew where I left my old raincoat, but oh well it was almost 14 years old LOL. Time for a new one anyway! speaking of new raincoats, I did have wonderful shopping karma yesterday! I popped into Winners and found a lovely raincoat, it the style that I was looking for and it actually fit me perfectly and for way less $'s than the one I had tried on the other day! In fact it was so inexpensive that I bought myself a second raincoat , a lighter jacket style that will be perfect for carrying in my hiking backpack. Hooray for me! The cost of both coats were still half of what the other one that did not fit me was. Yippee!! LOL

Felis - Ha,Ha I love the photo of the handmade stick puppets! What a great idea! I will have to show Mason and perhaps we could even make some together! I still have a week before my other grandkids get here, so perhaps this would be a good craft to do with them too! Thank you! So glad that you won your wish at least once! Maybe you will win again, who knows!! Hope the sunshine continues into the weekend for you!

Rae - Hope that you are ok!! Thinking of you all the time and sending you lots of

I am in need of some coffee, what else is new LOL Then off to get some housework done and then downtown to see if I can find some Easter goodies to send out to Ontario. Have a wonderful Friday everyone! I hope you are all ready for the Party here at the O!!

We haven't had new snow in a few days but the ground is still covered. One sign of spring is that the goldfinches are gradually getting more yellow. They are pretty drab during the winter but the males will eventually be so bright. Yesterday we did watch basketball, talked with BIL and I fixed leftovers into a pretty good dinner. Tomorrow is the monthly computer genealogy group meeting so I will be gone from early to mid afternoon. Since it will also be St. Patrick's Day, we're starting with a recorded talk on Irish genealogy.

Felis, those puppets are adorable! And a great, easy idea. I can't see why a little boy wouldn't like them too. Nice you had good weather and Aunt steered in a better direction. Congrats on a win in the Birthday Wishes.

Chris, the way it hung over your head, the DMV was a big accomplishment. Taxes will be the same way. I finally got my copy of my tax program and will soon have to install it. We just recently got a mailing of tax data, so I really am not late - yet. Please do remember to get photos from the march as was suggested.

Nancy, what an amazing recipe for the burgers. Who would have imagined that combo? Enjoy the day with Luther out having fun. How nice he really loves the doggie day care.

Trudy! Wonderful shopping karma for you. The new rain gear sounds perfect. Also sounding perfect is Heather's day. It will be interesting to see if the grands like the puppet idea. Sure hope you and DH both sleep better tonight. I think the sun is getting around to shining now so that may perk me up. Hope you have nice weather for the weekend.

Hugs to you, Rae. Hope you're getting better sleep too.

Hello girls,
today is one of these semi-successful days, when you don't have necessary concentration to finish anything. I wasn't finished my morning/yesterday's post when one of our neighbours came. She work with us for the printing house and told us that it have some problem with delivering so they give us Friday free day, which was welcome because it not rain today. And we go to a long walk. It was very nice. After that I do small of this and small of that, but nothing complete. So tomorrow I'll have to finish things.

Chris, so sorry that I don't finish my message for yesterday! You know I would not ignore you deliberately! So great that DMV gone fast, sounds like Gary is brings you luck! I'm so proud of all action you takes! It's great to have position. I just don't see why is necessary both bills to be compared, it's not have limit how many new bills to have and they have different subject. Every second person is stupid enough to kill his pet. But yes is strange that have faster reaction against the human nonsense, but nothing for human cruelty. I'm with Gary, I think he is right about all that. Which is sad of course.
So good to spend some time with your friend! Oh, I really hope spring to come for you sooner, but not with so many floods. It's only good luck that this year don't have victims, with so many water and landslide.

Nancy, have fun on a pizza night! I bet you are happy to have your son at home now. Such a adorable story about the doggie day care :) !

Trudy, I'll been more than happier if they like my idea! Hope to have a time to try these puppets making! Wonderful deal with these two raincoat, now you'll have to take a pic with them ;) . Aww, I also hope Heather to have lovely day, she needs! I think this mean they are feels better now, are they?

Jean, this special St. Patrick's Day meeting sounds so interesting! Have fun. I'm curious did you take some pics of goldfinches?

Rae, you are in my thoughts! Hugs, dear!

OK, good night, girls! :sheep1sheep2:sleep:
