12 More Days Until Spring!

Guess what!? In spite of getting more snow yesterday, some of it melted in my garden and I saw ..... *drum roll* an inch of my crocus plants poking up! Just one small cluster so far, but it was there. I am happy that I saw it, might have to go outside and stare at it a little more since it is going to snow again tomorrow. Yup, more snow. Anywhere from 1-3" to 1-6" depending on what forecast you read. I am obviously hoping that it is closer to the 1" mark. Soooooo done.

I started Cait's taxes and need more info for her deductions. If she doesn't have any more to add she is going to be paying a boatload of money. I am wondering if it is better if we don't claim her as a dependent. I am going to have to do some research. It doesn't seem right that selling some of her worms on Etsy (for the newbies- she makes 4' stuffed "worms with perms" as well as rat hammocks/hides, he isn't selling earthworms LOL) she might end up paying hundreds of dollars in taxes. I did scrap aLO for Christopher's book. One less to do and still many more to go. :/

Getting there... I am getting there.

No plans today just more of the same old, same old

Love to you all!

@Rachel Jefferies How is your headache today? I sure don't miss the days when I only had 2-hour chunks of time by myself. Wait. Scratch that, I can't tell you the last time I had two hours by myself in the house. But at least I don't have little ones interrupting me. Scratch that again. I have three adults interrupting me, LOL!!!!
I am so excited to see what the next batch of goodies that you release is- especially if it is related to Spring. I want to try out your Mixed Media challenge soon too.
Again, this is a no-pressure zone, only post/reply as much or as little as you like. It's just nice seeing you here, even if only to post a wave. <3

@taxed4ever How was the pool??? So happy that it is finally warm enough to swim again!!

@Cherylndesigns Yay for the warm weather! I hope it sticks around for you. I am hopeful that the sun is strong enough to make it feel warmer than the temps say it is here. How is your shoulder today?
Yes, that is a big part of the stories, I know. Laughing so you don't. My heart just breaks for Sam and her family. It is horrible, she mentioned her dad and I had totally forgotten that he died in the middle of everything too. I know they were estranged but that is still her dad. :(
Yeah, still no word or help from *anyone* about the electric bill. I have another week before the bill is due so If I don't hear by Monday I am going to have to see what I can scrape together.

@bcgal00 It has to be bittersweet to say goodbye to Reifel and the wildlife there but you have such an incredible perspective and outlook on Kamloops and I know that you and the ups are going to have a lot of great hikes together.
I can't believe how fast the move is going- *knocks wood and good thoughts it stays as smooth as it has been so far*

@BrightEyes I am so sorry that looking for photos for me made you sad. I am happy to know that you laughed a lot too. I know that it is nowhere near what you lost, but the other day I was looking for older photos of Christopher and saw so many of Scott and Leah looking so happy. It was such a gut-punch it literally took my breath away.
It is crazy to think how much emotions/love/energy is encrypted within the pixels of photographs.
Hope that the snow didn't cause any trouble for the roads and that you are able to get your errands done today.

@felis Hugs! I haven't crocheted a darn thing since I finished my hat

@tanteva how are you feeling? xoxo

@LSlycord Congrats to Syd!!!! Is she excited about making her choice? Have a good time on campus with her. Two very big items on your paper chain this weekend. Hope that the weather doesn't drop that much but you will be so busy dancing to Billy Joel you will stay nice and warm.
Every good thought is coming your way for Decker.

My goodness, it is 9 am and I haven't moved my butt off of this chair for three hours.
I have to get a life!! :D

Hugs!

@faerywings you need a medal for doing taxes ;) Doing my own is enough for me, dread it for weeks

@Rachel Jefferies Hope you are feeling better

@taxed4ever Jealous of the swim, hope it was fun!

@Cherylndesigns Sorry about the shoulder and arm :-( Hope it's better today. I suffer the same. I probably should stop working/designing/scrapping but THAT'S not going to happen  I recently discovered 'roll yoga' with therapy balls and that's been a gamechanger.

@bcgal00 I've been thinking of you and the move and hoping it goes smoothly. I am amazed at what you are achieving and your resilience x

@BrightEyes Hoping that seeing the photos was sort of a 'happy-sad', if you know what I mean.

@felis Sorry about your troubles :-(

@tanteva Hope you are OK x

@LSlycord Hope the dorm visit is/was fun!

I woke up and got up at 3.30am (which actually isn't unusual!) because it sounded like the roof of the apartment building was going to blow off! A very wild night. It's Saturday morning here, and this weekend I am back in the garden of my house weeding and water blasting so it looks good for the photos etc - weather permitting! It will be good to get off my desk chair at least .... am missing my usual yoga and dancing thanks to Covid and feel myself stiffening up.

After the photoshoot earlier in the week when both the subjects announced the next day they had Covid, I seem to have dodged the bullet yet again thanks to my double masking. She lives to fight another day ... :p

Good morning ladies. I'm selling some photography equipment this morning and after the fellow leaves then I'll get back to purging and packing. I really want most of the house packed up in the next 10 days so then we just have to clean and then pack up the last of the stuff left out until the move. I will be giving away most of the freezer foods to Krystal when she comes into town this wkend. It sucks to lose hundreds of dollars of frozen food but it'll never survive the 3-4 day storage and travel time. Plus I wouldn't have the space for it at the new house since until I buy a new freezer there will only be a fridge freezer. The new owners requested we leave behind the two stand alone freezers here.

I'd better go get dressed before the guy shows up for the photog stuff. I'll be back later.

Morning, all. NO SNOW! ! ! Woke up expecting to see snow on the ground but nada! But it is bone-chilling cold, tho... 24* when I got up at 6 and has only made it to 27* now. BRRRRRR! ! ! Don't think I will want to go anywhere today. I still have 2 weeks before they are due... so may put them off until early next week. These are ones that I pay in person as the mail has been too unreliable the past several months.

@faerywings I know what you mean about photos bringing back lots of emotions.. both good and not so good. But I do treasure all of them and just wish I had taken more photos during DH's last year. Yikes... so sorry to hear that Cait may have to pay $$$ in Taxes due to her small sales. And praying you are able to get some assistance on your heating bill.

@Lynn Grieveson Yes, it was a bit sad but much more happy with wonderful memories when looking at the photos. I still have several albums of photos that I haven't scanned in yet. I may do that when DD#3 is here and working on-line. Not sure if we can both be on-line at the same time as I don't have 5G here at the house...(which she has at her house).

@bcgal00 Such a shame that you have to give away all that frozen food. But understand why. Wow... 2 freezers! That would hold a lot of food. Sounds like you have a good plan to be done before moving day arrives.

@taxed4ever Hope you had a great swim and that the water was warm enough! I hear you about not going on hikes that are very far away. Our gas prices jumped again. Will be making sure that I do all the errands I need to do in 1 trip and save gas.

DD#1 just called and we talked for almost an hour. So good to hear her voice and talk about their trip here at the end of the month. Can't wait to see her and Son-in-Law.

Hope everyone has a good day and weekend. CYL

Good Morning everyone! It is a rainy morning and looks like rain well into next week. Oh well that is what our spring weather is usually like. However there is fresh snow on the mountain tops, hopefully that is where it stays! Yesterday's visit to the pool was great! I went very early and that looks like its probably a good time to go! It was not very busy and I had a lane all to myself. It was nice a warm and so good to be back in the water! I thought for sure that it would be tiring for me, but its like I have never been away and was quite refreshed after the hour of swimming. It really helps to have the music to listen to and keeps my mind from getting bored with the repetition. I hope to be able to do this a few times a week. Our covid numbers have dramatically dropped over the past month, so they are starting to lift some of the restrictions. Not sure how I feel about the lifting of mask wearing . Oh well I guess the world has to start moving forward. Today I will try to get some scrapping done and will get to work on the boys t-shirts. Found some heat transfer paper that you an print a photo on from your home printer and iron it on to a shirt so Mason will be very happy to have his photo of his puppy on his shirt.
Poochie.jpg. He is so cute with his one floppy ear! So nothing too exciting happening here today, its a good day to just hang out inside and putter around. What else is new LOL.

@faerywings - Love that cute countdown gif today! Such beautiful colours and gives us all the hope that soon we will have the flowers blossoming around us too! Good on you for getting Cait's income tax started, yes you might be better off claiming her as a dependent it would be worth doing the research for sure! I sure hope that you hear about the heating thing today! You must be getting so very frustrated about it! Yup same old for me too. Then the weekend busy with what my Gary has planned LOL. Not too much I hope!

@Lynn Grieveson - Yes the swim was wonderful! I enjoy doing my laps so much! The hardest part is getting my butt out the door to do them LOL. Ha, Ha, Ha!!! love the cat gif!! Looks like me at the end of the day!

@bcgal00 - Wow you sure are purging a lot of stuff! Sorry that you will lose all of that food, but ya I guess it would not survive the 3 -4 day storage! besides not having anywhere to put it when you arrive! Hope you get a great price for your photography equipment, it must be hard to let go of that! Looking so forward to the parcel you have sent to me, you are so generous and I will always think of you when I use the supplies!! The days are flying by and its hard to believe that you will be moving very soon!!

@BrightEyes - Brrrr, so cold for you again! Glad that you did not get the snow though! Yes, we are all having to watch our gas consumption now, our prices for gasoline are the highest in Canada!! So much of the cost now going to Carbon taxes! Oh well it is what it is! Yes the pool was lovely and I think warmer than usual in the lap pool. So nice!

@Cherylndesigns - Had to laugh about your hubby's new phone! Yup I had a very hard time getting used to no home button, but I do love my newer iPhone! Nice that you get some free Apple TV, we got a year when we bought our new Apple TV 4K box, but never really found anything we wanted to watch on it. I bet its much better now though.

@felis - Hi sweetie hope you get the inspiration to get back to your crocheting and scrapping!

@LSlycord - I am not looking forward to the time change either, it always messes with my head for a couple of weeks! Good to hear that Decker does not have trouble with his vision! So fun to spend the day with Syd and check out the dorms! Billy Joel right afterwards!! You must be so excited!! Sorry you will have to bundle up for the concert though! Enjoy!!

Well its time get into the shower and get my butt off of this chair! Have a great Friday everyone! I hope you get to do something fun today!

Good morning Lovelies.

Well, winter is back - for 2 days supposedly. We have snow on the ground - and it's supposed to be 75 next week. UGH. No wonder my allergies are so bad. We were out in our hoodies yesterday. Ava came over and we were outside messing around and the temps were pretty nice. Last night, about 10, we heard the winter storm blowing in. Even the cat didn't want to go back out. He didn't want to go out this morning either.

Chris @faerywings sorry you haven't gotten that bill straightened out yet. Grrrrrrr - Hoping you can make that happen in the next week. I hear you and Kay @BrightEyes about old photos. I have boxes of them and rarely have the heart to go through some of them. I've willed them all to Ava - she'll go through them eventually. There are a couple of them that I just can't look at.

Kay @BrightEyes glad the snow missed you - we got it this time. It's only in the high 20's today. I'm glad we don't have to go out and don't plan on it until next week. I have a couple of things to do on Monday, so hopefully this will have moved on by then.

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson that's interesting about the type of yoga that you say helped you. I broke my collarbone a few months ago and it was my right arm. I was healing very nicely and doing so well and I got my covid booster in my right arm, because I sleep on my left side. I had a terrible reaction to that booster and my arm and consequently my shoulder have hurt ever since. This cold weather really effects it. I'm SO happy to hear that you escaped the covid exposure!

I'd better go get more coffee and get busy here. Hugs to all and to all who come on here later.

It's chilly and gray today but spring is really putting out signs. Last Saturday we saw a Common Grackle in the yard which is our #1 sign spring is coming. Yesterday coming home from art class I noticed robins in several yards, including ours. They appear to be the summer birds, males arriving early like this. One recent day it was warm and the neighbors yard was full of early crocus in bloom! I think we have a wintry weekend coming though.

@faerywings Chris, I love the spring images!

We have a errand to run, so have to go. Sure miss the waving emoji!
