:hello: (Thanks, Trudy!!!)
Happy Friday to all of you! I hope that all of that you have a nice weather day like we have here. Right now it is sunny and mid-50's which is the nicest we have had in weeks. I go from rambling about politics to the weather. I really am becoming a "Get off my lawn" kinda person. hahahaha!

Yesterday was one heck of a day. I watched two hours of the Comey Hearing and it was startling in many ways. I might not agree 100% with the way he has done things in the past but it is very evident that he is completely for the institution of the United States.
I am also following the UK vote which is pretty stunning as well. I am hopeful that the UK/EU elections are showing that they are learning from our mistakes.

But aside from all of that, we have been closely watching Very Hungry!! S/he has been its cocoon for a long time, longer than the 10-14 days it is supposed to take to emerge. We were worrying that maybe s/he didn't make it through the metamorphosis process. But yesterday, we saw that the shape and coloring of the cocoon had changed and today you can see the outline of the wings. It is absolutely fascinating and exciting. I am going to be at my MILs today to help her with some yard work but I really want to stay home and keep watch. Gary has been taking pictures so I am sure I will be scrapping them.
Go, nature!!!

(In case you missed it, Very Hungry is a monarch caterpillar, soon to be butterfly!)

Today is going to be a full day. Caitlyn and I are heading down to my IL's and then we are going to our neighbors' for pizza and drinks.

Wishing all of you a very happy day!

Nancy- the salmon burgers sound really good. We have had frozen salmon burgers from the grocery store before and they were pretty gross. How fun for Luther to get to see his old dog friends, the weather must be nice for everybody. Yup, ITA- books about Luther :pupkiss: He is such a gorgeous dog.
Hope that hockey game was a good one.

Rae- what great news about feeling better *knocks wood for ya*
EOs can be really good for colds/respiratory illness. There are several different genus (geni?) of Eucalyptus. globulus is the most common but that "harshest. smithii is gentle, safe for kids and babies and that is what I use in diffusers. citridora smells the best, it has a lemony note to is and it what I use mixed with rosemary for my foot butters.
Sounds like the woman that you have been talking to knows her stuff. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Trudy- sorry to hear about the rain, seems like our weather has flipped.
I know how you feel about Mason looking sad. I have a lot of pictures of Christopher that he looks sad and breaks my heart. But then he looks happy again and it is good to see.
That is really nice that CA gives paternity leave. We don't get anything here in the US- moms or dads, unless you count out Family Medical Leave but that is unpaid. Unless it has changed recently, in NJ moms get 8 weeks of disability- 2 weeks prior to 6 weeks after giving birth- but that is at 2/3 salary.
But I see why Jonah wouldn't take it if it is just him and his uncle working. I am sure he will be very happy to know that you are there esp in the first weeks.

Better get Cait up, hugs to all of you who read this!! xoxo

good morning a quick note. Up and soon to be off to get my hair cut and colored. Then need to do some errands and then home, then off to take Luther to vet for more tests. It is mostly cloudy and yet should still be near 80. I am hoping. Had a nice dinner out. Came home and watched the beginning of the hockey game and wow it just was not a fun game to watch. Sidney Crosby gets away with so much because he is Sidney Crosby. So not right. So watched Yankee baseball and that was good as the Yankees put a beat down on the Red Sox.

Chris sounds like a full day! Have fun with the ILs and Cait. That watching the Monarch hatch sounds so fun! Cant wait to see the photos.

Rae so glad that you are feeling so much better! Great not to have brain fog! Those EOs sound very interesting. Glad they are helping.

Trudy sorry for the bad weather. Hopefully you will have a great weekend with sun! Sounds like CA is more forward thinking that US in so many ways.

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone... LOL you are welcome Chris!! A lovely sunny morning here this morning, but a bit on the cool side and a heavy dew also. Hoping the weather stays nice for our fun golf tournament tomorrow! We only golf once a year, so I am sure we will be sore and stiff on Sunday :becky: My sister Wendy and I are taking our other sister Pam out for her birthday lunch on Sunday. I made reservations at the Genoa Bay Restaurant , so really hoping for a nice day for that also. We will be sitting outside if it is nice. I won't be here for her real birthday and so we had to pick a day to hurry up and get this done. Yesterday I got the gifts for Isaac off in mail and so I am all caught up with birthday stuff anyway! Today I need to clean the Air Vent Cover that hangs over my cooktop, now doesn't that sound exciting!! :bored: I also need to blow all the crap off of our decks from the wind storm we had yesterday afternoon. What an exciting life I lead!!

Chris - How nice to hear that you are finally getting some sunshine!! I hope that you get the gardening done quickly at your MIL's and that you and Cait get back before the metamorphose is complete! So amazing that a fuzzy little caterpillar will turn into something so very beautiful!! Mother Nature truly is amazing!

Nancy - You are so right about Sidney Crosby and how he gets away with so much, just because of who he is. Not a huge fan of PK Suban either and those two definately have some bad blood between them! Enjoy your cut and colour today! Ii love getting my hair done! It was hard to watch the game last night, not much fun at all! Glad you at least enjoyed your Baseball game!

Rae - So good to hear that you are finally feeling human again! That really was a bad bout of illness for you! Your new diffuser and EO's sound heavenly! I might have to look into something like that! Nice that the brain fog is clearing up too! I hope that you don't have too heavy a work load today!

I was up very early this morning so I might slip into a hot bath and soak for a bit. Not sure why but I haven't been sleeping all that well this past week. I wake up at around 4am and can't really get back into a good sleep again. Perhaps I need to go bed later in evening? Maybe its because the birds all start singing around 4am? Or perhaps I am thinking far too much about my trip out East? Ya I know, its all of the above LOL. Ok I need coffee!! who wants to join me for a cup? :cofbath: Chris I know you will!! I hope everyone has a great Friday!!

Good morning, ladies. Feeling good today (yay) aside from a bit of congestion that is clearing up quickly now. I am totally addicted to my diffuser now, it's in my office during the day and in the bedroom at night. Last night we watched the last two episodes of 12 Monkeys (syfy show), it was so good. Can't wait for the 4th (final) season to start. I'm sad it'll end but it's also good b/c then they will get to finish up the storyline. There is nothing worse than investing your time in a show that gets cancelled and it just stops, no finish to the storyline.

We're heading out to the trailer tonight. I'll bring my laptop this time and may scrap tomorrow night. I'm bringing "Behind Her Eyes" and tomorrow morning will finish the book. Tomorrow I'll be wiping down the deck and cleaning the blinds in the trailer. But tonight I'll relax and watch some TV and probably go to bed early.

Chris - good to know about the different eucalyptus oils. I eventually want to make my own blends but will do some reading first. I am enjoying putting some grapefruit and orange oils into my hand cream. Sounds like a lovely day for you and how interesting about the butterfly. That would be awesome to watch.

Nancy - enjoy your hair salon appt. It always feels good to get your hair done.

Trudy - yes, I bet your sleeplessness is due to both the birds singing and the upcoming trip excitement. The early morning birds don't bother me but it wakes Darrell up. I slept better last night but not sure if it was from the relaxing oil blend in the diffuser or just b/c I'm feeling better. Time will tell. If I consistently sleep better over the next few wks then I know the diffuser is helping. Have a good soak and enjoy that coffee. I'm drinking my 2nd coffee with whipping cream, SF caramel and vanilla flavoring and its so good. I love my coffee!

Have a great day, everyone. I'm off to get started on my day with work, laundry, putting together a USB with digi stuff to scrap with and my everyday puttering.

Hi O's...very tired. DD and I got up for 5:30 and we drove 3 hours to visit my dad. We got home in the mid afternoon and then we all went to dinner-sat outside (unusually pleasant for this time of year) and enjoyed the company.
