Guess what guess what guess what????????????
I made it! I wasn't a happy camper, but I did it!!!! I survived the morning with just one cup of coffee!!!
I am not sure if my family appreciate the suffering I experienced, but a mother/wife's love and sacrifice knows no bounds.

:bounce:

And more good news- it was the 4 of us for dinner last night! It was so nice! The kids said that it was just the 4 of us for dinner last Thursday too but I don't remember that. I do know that the month of May was :der: so I am betting that they are right. I love hearing the goofy stories, and jokes with them. Even when they are making fun of me.:drama:

More good news re: Scott's job-- apparently he is doing so well, and is getting compliments to his boss from the customers, that he is going to start being trained as a server. After 4 days of being a bus boy. 4 days! I always have to remind myself that things happen for a reason, and the whole TJ's BS was actually a really *good* thing. (That was when he was supposed to start training at the pizzeria last Sat and then on Fri they said they weren't hiring him. He drove past Blini's Restaurant, saw a help wanted sign, stopped in, got hired, started the next day. So *razzzzzz* to TJ's)
I am so glad it worked out this way. If he does a good job waiting tables, then that is a skill he can use for a long time. Anyone can be a counter person at a pizzeria (sorry Cait!), but this is so much better for him. He is also not allowed to get tips as a busboy, but he will do awesome as a server. People have already tried to tip him, including the town mayor who is a regular and now knows him by name.

Mom's-Heart is singing!!

Those were the highlights of an otherwise uneventful day.

Today is blood work, and an appt for Jaida's second Lyme vax. I guess I also need to find out when she gets her rabies shot and then being spayed. She has such an adorable little puppy tummy, it makes me sad that she is going to need surgery, but that is non-negotiable.
She is just so darn CUTE! I love her and I love how Ray is and OMG it just makes me so happy to have two puppies again!!!

QOTD A friend from town posted a pic on FB about a bear crashing Field Day at one of the town's Elem schools. Scott went to take out the garbage at work only to find a bear on top of the dumpster. I haven't seen any bears this year at all and I miss that. But I have seen a lot of bunnies, squirrels, chipmunks, and birds. It is not the same as the bears but it is nice to see wildlife.
What kinds of wildlife do you see in your area?

Nancy- this weather is insane. I can't belive that last week I was washing off my beach things and now I can't seem to get out of sweatshirts and fuzzy socks. So good of you to keep walking even if it is drizzling, but since you would walk when it was -400* F (ha!!) I guess a bit of drizzle won't stop you. You rock!
Too funny about the Dr Pepper. :D

Trudy- Happy Birthday to Mason!!!!!!!!!!!!! Send him hugs from his O-Aunties!!
Did he like his gift? I am sure that he did.
Can't wait to see pics of him!

Sharon- Clara sounds like a joy to be around, I LOVED the page you did for the Copycat challenge-- what a cutie patootie! Hope that you had a wonderful relaxing day.

Sunday dinners- I remember the big Italian ones, pasta-- manicotti or lasagna, mmm mmm!

good morning - I am watching the French Open men's semi-finals. Good way to start my day when I have no hockey! And good when the day starts cloudy and chilly again. They say though that tomorrow should be sunny and mid to high 70s. I sure hope so! I got in a good walk. And this is pretty funny the night before as I was sleeping I dreamed I wanted pot roast for dinner and so I looked on line and found a slow cooker recipe and well I made it and it was so good. The boys really liked this one. They are meat/beef eaters while I usually do a lot of chicken or pasta. So they were happy campers. I am going to look for more slow cooker recipes especially since summer is coming. But still cracks me up that I dreamed about cooking. Today I have nothing to do. I can do laundry but I still have clean clothes so maybe maybe not LOL.

Chris so glad your family dinner was so fun! And really so cool how well Scott is doing. Good to keep busy during the school summer vacation. And all I can say is I am glad that I do not see bears when I take out the trash.

Sharon your ATC and Clara pages are awesome! You are really lucky to spend so much time with her,

Trudy can't wait to hear how Mason's birthday went. Your computer set up sounds pretty cool. Fun to have those big screens. I got the iphone+ so it is big because I want to be able to see now that my eyes have gotten older.

QOTD - I forgot to answer this before but what dinners I remember are two dishes my mom made but she made them reluctantly because she said they were complicated to make, lasagna and chicken paprika. Well I got the recipes when I got married and OMgsoh they are not complicated and I still love them. My kids love them. Too funny.

QOTD - Wildlife - well yesterday on my walk I saw a deer feeding along the path and did not even run as I walked past. I have rabbits, squirrels which I really dislike as they are so destructive, lots of birds, I have had in the past an opossum, a wild turkey, ground hog and her babies, and a fox. I love it.

Have a great day!

Mornin'. I was alone in the pool again until my last 2 laps today. I'm up to 18 to 20 laps, and today, all but 4 were crawl. I even tried stepping it up (speed) for a couple laps toward the end.

Chris! You are so BRAVE! You deserve the crown of laurels I gave you yesterday. Wonderful story about Scott (& I LOVE your LO about his book). Glad he is advancing so quickly and finding out that good work DOES pay. ...and that you all got to have dinner together! Love when THAT happens.

Too bad they don't have a Lyme vaccination for humans.

Nancy, I heard tennis grunts as I was turning the TV on yesterday, and I thought of you! Slow cooker...a life-saver esp. in the summer. I don't bother with homemade lasagna any more, but would love to have your chicken paprika recipe!

Trudy, can't wait to hear about Mason's birthday, and then see LOs. I assume your DD sends pictures???

Wildlife around us: The usual squirrels, bunnies, raccoons or possums (seems like it's either one or the other, and different from year to year), and DEER. They love to eat all the pretty flowers in the neighborhood, so we have to be careful what we plant. They are brazen. Coyotes. Nice fat coyotes brave enough to walk down the middle of the street in broad daylight (rarely). We lost a beloved cat to one. I didn't see it, but a neighbor had a bobcat in his yard/garage one day. Lots of birds, including bald eagles. Bears and cougars are occasional visitors in nearby neighborhoods.

Good news from Utah. A fence around the back yard was an absolute MUST for DD, so they budgeted it in when purchasing the house. She was very disappointed that it couldn't get installed until July. But someone cancelled, so their posts are going in today, and the rest of the fence going up next Friday. She is thrilled. Not only safety for the two little boys, but privacy for her. She loves sitting on the patio knitting and enjoying a cup of coffee in the afternoon, while the kids play, but felt totally exposed.

We're in for a sunny warm spell. Lovin' THAT! I've got all 6 challenges done already, and my June greeting cards, so I guess I'll just have to go read on the patio for awhile today. ;)

Seriously? Is there no smilie for coffee? :coffee: ???

Morning ladies... Well my day of scrapping the day away turned into doing a birthday project for my oldest grandchild and it took me most of the day. Isaac is into the Harry Potter books right now, so I made him an acceptance letter to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It is very cool with all the crests and fonts and I dyed the paper with tea so it looks like parchment paper. I still have to make the envelope and I even made a wax seal for it. Hope he doesn't really think that he is actually going to this school LOL. Also making the ticket for him for his trip on Platform 9 3/4 :becky: I had so much fun with it, but oh my it took a long time. Better get it finished today so it can arrive in time for his birthday.

Chris - Glad to hear you made it through the day with just one cup of coffee. But I bet that doesn't happen again today!! Glad that you had your family together for a meal, it is so nice!! WTG Scott!! See that other job just was not meant to be!! Tell Scott from me that I think he rocks!! We watched Mason open his gift as he had a little nap in the afternoon so was up later than usual. It was so cute, he is really great at tearing off the wrapping paper. Hopefully his Dad got the tent all set up for him to use today! His party is on Saturday, so hopefully there will be lots of photos and video!!

Nancy - Too funny that you dreamed of cooking LOL!! I would also love your recipe for the chicken!! I only have the iPhone 4S so it would be nice to have a larger screen on my phone as my eyes do not like this one at all :becky: Sucks to have old eyes!! Hope your weather is nicer as the day progresses!

Sharon - Lucky you to be alone in the pool!! I am very envious!! It was so crowded on Wednesday I finally talked to one of the lifeguards and complained about the very slow swimmers taking up the medium and fast lanes!! Yet no one is in the slow lane?? Really I think that they should make the slow lane a medium lane and just do away with the slow one as it seems no one wants to admit that they are slow swimmers  It really pisses me off!! Halfway through my swim on Wednesday three men jumped into my lane and they were as slow as molasses, why come and swim in an already crowded lane when there is a wide open double lane to swim in?? I HATE MEN!! LOL not really, but some of them really get under my skin!! Anyway thanks for listening to my ranting!! Whew I feel better now!! :becky: That is great news from Utah! So nice to have a fenced in yard! Especially with little ones! We use the tea smiley for the coffee one :tea: Hope you are enjoying your coffee on your patio in the sunshine!!

Ok I have to get going swimming and then off to the grocery store. A busy weekend for us as Saturday we have lots of running around to do and yard work of course, then off to my sisters place (the one with the B & B) for supper and then Sunday we are attending a memorial for an old high school friend who passed away from Cancer. then supper at the In-Laws as the memorial is in the town where they live. They must be going also, as they phoned and asked if we would be there and would we like to come there afterwards for dinner. Nice!! So I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!! Stay out of trouble!!

Trudy I am so sorry about your idiot men. If I were there, I'd be thrilled to have a slow lane to be in. And I guess I'd have it to myself!

Sorry for the loss of your friend. We are nearing 70, and many of our friends are in their 70s and 80s, so I'm sure That Season is rapidly approaching. For years it was weddings, then babies and graduations, now, funerals. :'( The Circle of Life??? !!!

Duh. I didn't see the tea smiley. I'm on at least my 4th mug of coffee already, but I only fill it half way up, and usually it goes cold before I even reach the end of that!

Stay out of trouble????? THAT's no fun!

:tea:

always chatty at the O!!
HELLLOOOOOOOOOOO Ladies!!

I haven't hopped in here in so long so I thought I'd say hi real quick. I'm hiding out at work. We have an active shooter TRAINING today at our clinic...the hospital we are affiliated is doing a plane crash for their training. It is annoying but good training, especially being at a military base. So, I'm just hanging out until the training starts since we have no real patients today and thought I'd say hi.

This weekend should be fun. We've been trying to do all of our lasts because we are moving from NC back to WA in August due to my hubby's retirement from the Army so tomorrow we are going to Blues and Brews. It's a beer tasting thing with music. It is always a lot of fun and we are going with some good friends. I am going to miss our friends when we move so we are trying to get as much time in as possible.

Chris - in WA we had bears and stuff but here not so much. We do have foxes though. I had never seen a fox until moving here and they are all over the place. It's kinda cool. That's awesome about Scott. I'm glad he is doing so well and will be able to make some good money. As his skills improve he can move on to fanicier restairants where the tips are better or when he gets older the bars pay pretty well in tips. I used to make some pretty decent money.

Nancy - I love slow-cooker pot roast. It is one of my favorite dishes. I cheat and use the pressure cooker a lot but it is so good. How crazy that you dreamed about it.

Sharon - that is exciting about the fence. I hate not having a fence. It makes me feel so unprotected and my kids are bigger.

Trudy - enjoy your swimming time. The Harry Potter project sounds awesome. Can you adopt me as a grandkid and make one for my birthday? LOL!!
