OMG- I so floored! I just spent a whole lotta time on Facebook (not that big of a deal)-- but the cool part is that an old really good friend of mine found me-- through an even older friend of mine!
I was best friends with this girl I worked with- we were pretty much inseparable for several years (the kids in our classes would call us by the other's name and I would answer to Miss Sue as quickly as I would Miss Chris :))
Gary and I ended up moving to this house b/c they lived down the street. Sue was with me and Gary when Scott was born, coaching me on together.
They ended up moving to NC and we lost touch.
I get a FB message last night from her DH who found me through a girl I was friends with when we were in Elem School!
So crazy!

So that is my weird FB saga of the day.

Yay it is Friday, I am so pooped out. And cold. Why is it still so cold here? At least tomorrow should be warmer.

Anyway- must get on with being cheery-O-ish. LOL

LindaW- I take Xanax before bed too. I can't sleep at all otherwise.But I do get crazy dreams from it LOL What a cool nan you are! Wrestling.... eesh! :D

Sara- hope you slept better last night. What book are you reading? I checked out a bunch of books that were suggested to me on FB. I started a Kathy Reich's since I love Bones.But I can't get into it. I put that one dawn, and am reading The other Queen (?) its by the same lady who wrote the Other Bolyn girl.. (man, I am totally crucifying this!) Anyway hopefully you know who/what i am talking about.

Dawn-- all I can say is O. M. G. Gary is a Taurus. And Scott would have been a Taurus if he were born on his due date- which I *swore* was not going to happen (who needs 2 Tauruses to deal with???) - better yet. I had Scott on the cusp so he has allof the lovely features of stubborn bull, and all of the debating skill of a Gemini.Ahhhh!

Sandra- ITA with you on that principal-- not the sharpest eh? My kids always came home with packets too, plus summer reading. I was a mean mom and made them do 15 minutes of HW every day (M-F) just to keep them in the swing of things.
Now I just make sure they do summer reading- thankfully that is not an issue.

Ok that is all I have time for ATM! But I will be back!

Popping in for a second this morning...Had a GREAT day with Cameran yesterday...DH went in to work and told them he wanted the day off...so he came back home, and we all played and had fun....Yes..I know the wrestling thing is not that appealing, but being he's only five, well, I know it's a phase, by this time next year...who knows what he will be into...the funny thing is....he has gotten EVERYONE in the family into this stuff...His Mom and Dad, his other grandparents....it's funny...we all say "Be glad when he grows out of this one"....but I don't want him to grow up too fast...we went to his Preschool Graduation last night.....He was just adorable....I guess I need to prepare for him getting on that big yellow bus in a couple of months...:(....it's dejavu for me....i cried and cried with both my girls....now my grandchildren....Gotta run....I have to clean up from yesterday and head over to pick up my MIL-in-law and take her to get her hair done...be later for personals!

Clara- how nice that your day turned out good! I love getting to spend one on one time with my kids. Seems like it just doesn't happen enough any more.
Do you think that the continental US got flipped over somehow? You are having the weather *we* should be having LOL!
Thanks for the help with Scott being defiant. Its so hard. I know the hell I put my own parents though, and I have no idea how my IL's didn't chop Gary up into little pieces and put him in the trash LOLOL!
But, we all turned out ok in the end, and I guess that is what counts.

And now I am going to sign off.....
I am off shopping with my mom today- I need to get my brother a b-day gift for tomorrow. Nothing like waiting to the last minute.... or actually waiting until I got paid yesterday so I have some $$!

Just a quickie this morning, I have to run to Wally Heck this morning for brownies or something equally tasty...we are having a going away party for a co-worker who is going back to school. I had asked DD to make brownies yesterday....they are like bricks...when will I learn?! LOL

good morning... just a quick post to say hi! today is the first day of summer break for Will and no more babysitting for me either... so we're hanging out and the kids are playing video games...

Chris - Will wants to complete the summer packets so we'll do them... both the library and Barnes & Noble do summer reading programs so he's going to do those as well, and his first 2 books from the library are on hold and we'll pick them up tomorrow...

Man!! I just spilled most of my Starbucks Double Shot. That stinks. Oh well..guess I'll get coffee before errands. =) I've got to get the paperwork from my old car which sold at auction and get the new car licensed. Ben is excited because he gets to stay home with me today. I wish I could have rant these errands without him, but the car hadn't sold yet. Yesterday I went and saw up. It was an excellent movie and story, but I'm glad I didn't take Ben. More than being scared, I think he would have been bored. It didn't have a lot of upbeat funny stuff.

Dawn and Clara - You two crack me up. I think we need to start a daily Dawn and Clara thread. =) I hope you ladies are having good days. Dawn - Knee feeling better? Clara - Back feeling better?

ME - I'm soooooo jealous I would love to go on a real vacation.

Chris - Old friends is what got me finally sucked into FB. I saw on my cousin's page that she was friends with "our group" You know, the one that takes you through your junior high and early high school all important years. So, that's what finally sucked me in. It's great sometimes to reconnect with those people. Hope it's warmer for you today. It's been beautiful here, but storms are supposed to roll in tonight.

Hi Linda! - Glad you had a fun day yesterday. I don't want Ben to grow up too fast either. And I'll indulge him in just about any obsession he has. I just really hope it isn't wrestling. =) I'll indulge him in it and pretend to like it if he ever gets into it....I just hope he doesn't...it's so not my cup of tea. My brothers were way into it when they were younger though, so I somewhat understand.

Dawn - LOL on the brownies. I've learned not to ask DH to do a lot of things too. hee hee!!

Sandra - I'm glad you got to talk to the principal, even if you didn't get everything cleared up yet. At least that shows she's willing to talk. Have fun with the summer reading programs. I always enjoy them. =)

Hey chicks. Quick pop in from me. I miss you guys. Still in a haze of a funk so I'm not real chatty and upbeat.

Sara - yep, totally on "Up." Not enough funny parts to keep Ella happy, and too many scary parts for her to sit and just watch. Now when the commercials come on for that movie she reminds me that I can never make her watch it again. lol Goofy child. DANG on the coffee. I would cry. Then again - I rarely get good coffee that I didn't make myself, so I would doubley cry. ;)

Chris - how cool to find people on Facebook. I just love that. I found an ex-stepsister, from when I was about 10-12 years old. I looked up to her so much, so it was cool to find her.

Dawn - num num brownies! I am going to try a new cookie recipe this weekend - from Martha Stewart - strawberry shortcake cookies. I hope they turn out!

Sandra - the summer reading program sounds cool. I can't wait until Ella is in school and does that. I loved, loved reading as a kid (and still do) and I loved the reading programs. I was thinking the other day - do they still do Book It with Pizza Hut? I loved that.

Linda - you gotta find me on Facebook and send a friend request. I tried to find you the other day and couldn't! I need you in my Mafia. :D Tali Vander Stouwe. ;) Man, I am not looking forward to next year's preschool graduation with Ella. I am already tearing up thinking about it. lol What a sap.

I took advantage of the sale at Winkflash and got 100 of this year's layouts printed in a hardcover book - for only $30. WOW. The shipping was fast and it is beautiful. I am so in love with this place. It is 12x12 (or as close to 12x12 as these places can get), so, nice and big. The quality is amazing. I wish I could show everybody I see!
 
Oh Tali - That is an awesome deal!!! Great to know that I can get a 12 x 12 beautiful book for that inexpensive! I'll have to make sure I keep an eye on the place. It seems that we could get free stuff and cheap deals constantly just by monitoring those big sites: Winkflash, Arts Cow, Shutterfly, etc. =)

I haven't had layouts printed in sooo long. That might have to be a big project in the next couple of weeks. =)
 
Hello...I came back....I ended up going about 8:30 to pick up my DGD...her big brother is sick and running a temp of 103...so I took her with me to get my mother-in-law....whew...tiring trip for me...she's taking a nap right now...OH BTW....I put a zanax out to take last night...never had to take it....I guess my body beat those d@#! hormones down....I crashed on the couch about 9:30...DH got me up and sent me to bed, I slept til 5:30...YAY...8hours of sleep...I am good for about a week now...but as tired as I feel right now, and my eyes feel so heavy, I think I may actually go out again tonight...I hope...Thanks for the support...You guys are great!

Sally....I swear...if I would just read your entries about three times at night, I would be worn out enough to go to sleep....I don't know how you get so much accomplished in a single day! You get my High Achiever Award!!!

Clara...glad your back is getting better...It's hard enough to functio n with everyday little aches and pains...added major pains are just not helpful..especially when you have to be on meds for them...thanks for you advice and input on my female probs....I pretty much knew that the operation would be the cure, but I wasn't sure about the "throwing me into meno.." I wouldn't want my overies out...for that reason, but maybe some of the other problems would settle...and you sound like my DD with the laundry...I go over to her house, and there are so many loads of clean laundry that just need to be folded and put away...when that baby gets here...I know it will be worse....I told her she needs a laundry routine....when she gets home from work...wash a load...after dinner, goes in the dryer....after Cameran's bath and bedtime..get them out and fold them...one every day.....does she listen...NO....Her other household chores stay on track..she just hates laundry...and don't get me started on my other DD..Traci....Lets just say she can't clean up with out making a mess!!!

Dawn....CONGRATS on the job review...glad the pressure has let up for you, and that the knee is feeling better....your story about your DD cleaning sounds somewhat familiar to my DD..the funny thing is...if she sees where I made a mistake (like something didn't get clean in the dishwasher)...she lets me have it.."Mom..who would eat with this fork..it's disgusting" What a big old joke!! She comes over to visit for a couple of hours with the kids....She makes more mess herself, than both kids staying all weekend with me....I swear, I don't know how they function on a day to day basis!! Her two hour visit takes me 3 to clean up!! But I never fuss...I just clean it up!! Too bad you don't live close to me...I would of made the brownies for you;)

ME...If you make it here before you leave tomorrow...HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!! I so wish I were going too!

Sara....I have been wanting to see that movie...just have to find someone to go with me...DH doesn't like going to movies...My DD's have to find babysitters...LOL..that's me...usually DH's DD's go with me....

Sandra....I read your entry about the school issue...you are right, education is so important...glad your taking a stand...I am anxioius to hear about the outcome too.

Chris...AWE...you are so sweet...your compliments make me feel so good!! The FB thing is pretty cool...I signed up back in January, looking for a group of scrappers that said they had a group on FB...I found it and it was totally inactive...and if you can't tell...I wanted to find a place to be active and HAPPY at...and yes....DEFINATELY found that here;) ...anyway....I just left the FB thing at that...and in March, my best friend from HS, who I had not spoken to since right after my 2nd DD was born, found me and emailed....I guess from the HS listing...so cool...a couple of more found me after that...and it just went from there....

Well if anyone else comes here today...HI and {{{HUGS}}}...I love all of you guys...you help make my day a great one!!
 
Thanks for your sweet comments about Ginger everyone. We are adjusting and having fun. :) Hope to find some time for the Oo's next week to pay a little more attention to your posts. I just don't have the online time at the moment.

Real quick...I know crazy, huh? I might come back and give some love later. Today has been a Gilmore girls kind of day. Life is rough, huh? Well, back to Gilmore Girls. I get off soon. Yeah!! Sunday is the taco feed. Supplies cost much more than expected. We need at least 20 people to break even. Ugh!! Wish us luck!! I'll chat at ya soon...Oh, Linda...your daughter sounds just like me. I make my mom and sister crazy. I don't like mess I just like it better than actually cleaning. Hugs!!

Aww, Merkee, Ginger is a doll! And we totally understand about you not having online time....we are kind of a chatty bunch ;). We are just happy to see you around now and again !!!! ((((hugs))))

And my day was fab!!!

I actually picked up some cupcakes and they were yummy and everyone brought so much food we could eat on it a wk, LOL! Hope you have a great weekend (((hugs)))
 
Woowhee, I have got to get in bed everyone, I am bout to fall out on the floor sitting here, LOL. I'll holler at y'all in the morning if I have time before the eye doc :).
