Another "Feel Free to Ignore Faery's Depressing Post" Warning

One more awful day. I am so worn down- I said to Gary that physically, I hadn't felt this awful since last year when I was really sick. I even attempted to lie down for a half hour (yeah, I felt *that* bad! LOL) but that didn't work out so well.
Cait didn't have an easy time at Orientation. Most of the students had their parents there. I didn't go with Scott last year and he told her that most people didn't have parents with them so we decided that I wouldn't go. She texts me when she gets there upset and uncomfortable. I was about to ask if she wanted me to meet here, but then I realized that I don't have a car. Then she texts me during the lunch break- food was provided and even though she requested a vegetarian option on the RSVP, there was nothing for her to eat. She said a kid gave her some Doritos. Schedule planning didn't go well either. Her Community College hadn't sent over her final transcript so the classes that she took last semester weren't included so she couldn't even make her schedule up which was the main point of the day.
On the way home, she calls me in a slight panic that she thinks someone hit the back of the car- the person was at a yield sign but never slowed down and pulled out so Cait had to swerve out of the way. Gary didn't see any damage but it must have been a very close call. Not the way to end a crappy day for her.

Then the news of yet another mass shooting in America. How long since the last one? :noidea: USA. we're Number..... :(

Being tired and mentally drained I lost it sort of- I feel like I am a waste of space ATM. Bad parent. The whole kit and kaboodle. I know rationally that isn't true but sure feels that way.

But-- I do have a silver lining to it all. AAA came through! I called at 10.20 am, gave them the info. They said they would be there sometime after 11.05. They were there at 11. I wish they could have been that quick the time that I was stuck in a State Park for 4 hours without any cell service.

Food shopping is on my list for today. I am going to the small store over the mountain. Can you imagine me in ShopRite with all of the chaos and construction? :hurt: Then we are going to go down to the shop and get Cait's car and bring that home so Gary can work on that tomorrow. He and his dad are going to do that while my MIL and I are at the protest. Oh, I guess I need to finish my sign today too.

Hope that you all have a wonderful day, stay cool if you are in this heat wave.

Trudy- hope that you felt rested for the remainder of your day in spite of getting up early. Wonderful news that the weather was great for your hike. I need to be out in nature again- I need that reboot on my brain. We had rain on and off all day yesterday which is good for my gardens and well. Hope that you got a decent rainfall too.
How is Mason feeling today? Is he able to eat yet?

Nancy- the t-storms were really loud and Ray was having none of it. Poor girl. I wonder if it is weird for her now that she is deaf. She will feel the boom but not hear it. Then again, she never liked loud noises.
Good for you telling your son that women do not want a dominant man. Maybe some individually do but not as a group, that is for sure! Did you happen to see the women's protest yesterday at the Senate building? 600 arrests for peacefully protesting but lying down covered in foil blankets like the kids separated from their parents. One of my heroes, Tammy Duckworth, came out with her little baby girl (who is totally adorable BTW!) in support and a Representative was arrested with the other women. Women.

Rae- oh, that news makes me happy and relieved. Good for Jen for getting the hospital to rectify their mistake. I am sending all of my love and good thoughts to you!!!!

Jean- Stay cool today! I am like you-- better expressing myself with images than with words. I have a really hard time journaling on LOs. Which is odd since I blabber on and on (and on!) here. LOL
Yes, Notorious RBG has to stay forever! She is another of my heroes, along with Elizabeth Warren. See a pattern?
I think the warmer temps will help so I am not so achy. I am hoping for that.

Felis- you would think that scientists would have learned by watching Terminator and Jurassic Park movies to be careful with what they invent :D You know that I agree with you about the fate of animals on this planet.

I am having the thought of "running away" to my parents' lakehouse for a few days soon might be a good thing. I have to look at schedules and see what I can do. I think I should.

Off to get my day going. Love to all of you!!!!

good morning - I am watching the Today show and they are having this group Panic at the Disco and they are singing the song High High Hopes. And I am deciding that I am going to have High High Hopes. Yes there are horrible things going on but I think now things are beginning to change, people are starting to mobilize and that gives me hope. One of the writers for the NJ Devils said he started as an intern at Capital Gazette. Luther is a day care and so I have lots of chores to do and errands. But I don't have to cook as my son wants to buy us dinner. How sweet is that. Don't have to heat up the kitchen during the heat wave. I finally finished season two of 13 Reasons Why. Glad I did. My son and I were able to talk and that is good.

Chris I am so sorry as it seems like all these things keep raining down on you. Good luck on fixing the car! So sorry for Cait and the problems. Good thing she has all summer to get this straightened out. If people just did their jobs things could run so smoothly. And I am hearing that the governor and our state house and senate cannot decide on a budget so the state may have to shut down. Again if people just did their jobs. Feel better. Sit in the sun and put on some good music - pet the animals. Good luck at the store!

Trudy I like Chris hope that Mason is doing better. Poor kid not being able to eat and not understanding is just the pits. My son always woke up so angry after anesthesia. Poor doctors had to call me in to call him down. I always tried to tell them before hand he was going to be angry but they never listened. Have fun doing laps today!

Rae so glad that Jen stood up for Bailey and that the records will be sent. It will make such a difference to get her to the right hospital that will be her the best care!

Jean you write very well. Glad that Cleveland has started to play better. Where do you think LeBron is going to go or do you think he will stay? I am sure the rest of the league wants to know!

Felis yes scientists should be careful but I guess they always want to push the boundaries.

Have a great day all!

Happy Friday everyone! It is raining here and believe me it is very welcome! I know that all the campers out there will hate it though. It is a long weekend for us here in Canada and this seems to be the typical weather every year! Oh well we truly do need the :rain: It will be a busy weekend for DH and myself with lots of things that need to be done around the house and yard. What else is new!! I had a fairly good day yesterday, after my facetime chat with Heather and Hunter, I got my page completed for the upcoming Journaling challenge. Never a problem for me to do journaling as I often find it easier to journal than to talk to people in real life. LOL who am I kidding, I am a blabbermouth! Well not always, I seem to go in spurts of not talking much at all and then other days I don't know when to shut my mouth. Anyway I hope you will all join in on this challenge! Today I will hit the pool and get my laps in and then home to try to put together a grocery list and finish off the cleaning downstairs. Hopefully get started on some more scrapping and doing a few behind the scene things here at the O.

Chris - Oh my dear faery friend
fairy-smiley.gif
I am sorry that you are so down in the dumps these days! I sure hope that things improve at your house soon! Perhaps the upcoming heat wave will warm up those aching bones and put you in a better mood! Yes I think that you should plan a weekend getaway to your parents place, where you can maybe just lay around and do a lot of nothing and read a good book, soak up the sun etc. Sending positive thoughts that things go better for Cait also and that the car issues are taken care of quickly and inexpensively!

Nancy - Perhaps your son had his ego bruised with all the talk of women not wanting to be dominated by a male?? Men like to think that they are always in charge LOL. Sweet that your son wants to buy you all dinner tonight! So thoughtful! I agree with you that if people would just do their dam jobs properly the world would run a lot smoother! Hope you manage to get all your chores completed swiftly and without hassle today! Poor Mason was upset that he could not eat before the surgery, and actually was starving when he got over the horrible sick feeling of the anesthesia. He did vomit on the way home, but Heather said he acted like nothing happened to his mouth and he had no pain at all, he did not remember any of it LOL. Just keeps showing everyone where he is missing his tooth.

Rae - Sorry that your work week got so busy! Perhaps it is a good thing to keep your mind off of poor B for a bit? Finally some good news from the hospital and we all will of course keep our fingers crossed for the move to the better facility! Hopefully it will be Vancouver where you will not have to travel so far to see her.

Jean - I am surprised that you have difficulty with journaling, as your pages are always so well written! Praying that you do not get the horrible humidity with your upcoming heatwave!

Felis - I think that it is frightening that they can produce such realistic looking robots, what will happen to mankind if these things start doing everything we should be doing? Scary :fear: Hope you get to cut your lawns soon, so you don't lose your Hunter!! LOL Hope your visit with your friend is pleasant and that you have a wonderful weekend! It is Canada Day long weekend for us! :canada:

Ok I better get my swimsuit packed and get to the pool soon. Mason will be home today as school is officially finished for him this year. Heather might be too busy with both boys to facetime today. Or maybe I will get to see all of them for a change? :becky: Have a wonderful friday ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. Had to work hard yesterday to finish up before going to the hospital but I managed. Today I have tons of work but whatever I don't finish I can do on Sunday/Monday when we get back from the trailer. D, Jen and I are going up for 2 nights. We are a bit nervous about it, as we all are uncomfortable leaving B but the hospital will be aware of our being gone so they can watch her extra closely (hopefully) and hope that her dad will go up tomorrow to see her. We'll come home, unpack and head up to the hospital on Sun afternoon when we return. So we will have a full day tomorrow to hang out together, go shopping, watch a few movies together and take Taz on some long walks. We all need this mini get-away. I told B I'd bring her back something from Bellingham. If you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know it's b/c of our internet at the trailer. Sometimes it acts up so I never know if it'll be working.

Chris - I really hope your spirits lift today. Hope the shopping goes ok. Sorry to hear that C's orientation didn't go well. But glad to hear that AAA came through for you. Hope you get your sign done for the protest.

Felis - I watch all the sci-fi stuff too and wonder if someday technology will go too far and how the world will turn out. I always try to think positive but these days its not easy.

Nancy - enjoy your time off from cooking today. I still haven't seen that show but its on my to-watch list. There are a lot of shows on my to-watch list and it keeps growing LOL. I'm never going to have time to see them all.

Trudy - I'm like you, I'm a blabbermouth most of the time and then other times I am super quiet. I need a balance of both. I think being an only child I am quite comfortable being quiet, being by myself and doing my own thing. But then I get in a group setting and I don't shut up :) I too don't mind the rain this wkend. I'll be prepared for it with rainboots and rain jacket so I'll still enjoy being out with Taz and shopping tomorrow.

I'd better get to work now. The other girl is away so I'm covering her work today so want to try to get as much done as I can. Have a great day, everyone.

Still nice today, but heating up. I think I'll spend Sat. afternoon in A/C at the historical society to get a little relief. In a bit we're going to the cemetery where cousin's ashes were interred to check on the inscription that was completed recently. Otherwise the usual chores, genealogy and reading mysteries while trying to keep cool.

I think DH may be getting restless to head across town to the cemetery, so I'll have to come back for personals.

Hope it's going to be a restful weekend for all.

Hi, girls!
It's one of these *where my time gone* days, but in cosy and nice way. My family is very excited because It is Canada Day long weekend ;) :canada: . Wait ... it wasn't us, but I think I have to convince them to celebrate it too. You never can have too much celebrations :) . Actually it starts summer leave for momy and sis already started her's, and we all are exited. This allows me for the next days to take some additional packs from the print house, because mom will helps me with the cares for the kids, so some extra money for me will be great too.

Chris, I just hearing from you for another terrible tragedy. So sorry! This is why I'm skeptical about the marches and protest, looks like they don't have any actual results, except participants to can share in their social media how 'social occupied' they are. Here have different protest almost every week and they tired everybody. If you really care have to make some actions, like these volunteers that really works with the people with problems. OK, enough :blah: from me.
Oh you definitely should take this lakehouse escape! But no phone and info channels, please!
Sorry to hear for the awful Cait's day! At least she can look on herself as a support for other children which don't have parents and will be awful to be alone on this Orientation day.

Trudy, I had to go back and check, because somehow I'm skip the info about Mason's dental surgery. He is one little hero, how fun to show the hole from missing tooth! Do they believes in tooth fairy? Here not, may be it's something American. Even not he still deserve some prize :heh: ! I definitely will do the journaling challenge. I also find easier to journal than to talk to people in real life, and especially on the phone. I just hate to talk at the phone and almost never accept calls. It's so much more constructive to text or mail, and thank goodness for the WhatsApp!
Hope you'll get facetime with the three of them, instead of crazy day for Heather! It always take time to switch to summer routine, I guess.

Nancy, I'm really curious about 13 Reasons Why and can't wait to be realized here! I actually didn't like Hannah from the book and now I'm so curious to see her after your good attestations. I also checked this song you was mentioned yesterday and it's very pretty, but as you say so sad!
*!!!Spoiler for the others don't read before to watch 13 Reasons Why !!!
Did in the series Hannah have sex with the rapist boy and why the hell she get this decision?! This totally disgust me, even to this moment I tried to excuse somehow her fear at first and that she don't stop him to do this to the poor girl! After this moment she totally lose my sympathy.

Rae, I'm SO happy to hear for your weekend plans! So deserved! Have a good time, dear!

Jean, we are here at the same time today! Sometimes I saw you here at my mornings and know it's your night and it's so fun and strange at the same time. The starry night page is awesome! I'm almost ready with this week just have to link it, but will left it for the weekend. What you reading now? Have a cool weekend ;) !

Have a lovely weekend to you all, girls! And happy Canada Day! Did have some special cake for that?! I think I need cake!:choclove
