Another "Feel Free to Ignore Faery's Depressing Post" Warning
One more awful day. I am so worn down- I said to Gary that physically, I hadn't felt this awful since last year when I was really sick. I even attempted to lie down for a half hour (yeah, I felt *that* bad! LOL) but that didn't work out so well.
Cait didn't have an easy time at Orientation. Most of the students had their parents there. I didn't go with Scott last year and he told her that most people didn't have parents with them so we decided that I wouldn't go. She texts me when she gets there upset and uncomfortable. I was about to ask if she wanted me to meet here, but then I realized that I don't have a car. Then she texts me during the lunch break- food was provided and even though she requested a vegetarian option on the RSVP, there was nothing for her to eat. She said a kid gave her some Doritos. Schedule planning didn't go well either. Her Community College hadn't sent over her final transcript so the classes that she took last semester weren't included so she couldn't even make her schedule up which was the main point of the day.
On the way home, she calls me in a slight panic that she thinks someone hit the back of the car- the person was at a yield sign but never slowed down and pulled out so Cait had to swerve out of the way. Gary didn't see any damage but it must have been a very close call. Not the way to end a crappy day for her.
Then the news of yet another mass shooting in America. How long since the last one? :noidea: USA. we're Number.....
Being tired and mentally drained I lost it sort of- I feel like I am a waste of space ATM. Bad parent. The whole kit and kaboodle. I know rationally that isn't true but sure feels that way.
But-- I do have a silver lining to it all. AAA came through! I called at 10.20 am, gave them the info. They said they would be there sometime after 11.05. They were there at 11. I wish they could have been that quick the time that I was stuck in a State Park for 4 hours without any cell service.
Food shopping is on my list for today. I am going to the small store over the mountain. Can you imagine me in ShopRite with all of the chaos and construction? :hurt: Then we are going to go down to the shop and get Cait's car and bring that home so Gary can work on that tomorrow. He and his dad are going to do that while my MIL and I are at the protest. Oh, I guess I need to finish my sign today too.
Hope that you all have a wonderful day, stay cool if you are in this heat wave.
