CHEERY O
:friday:
Hello from cloudy and cool New Jersey! I miss the sun but am glad that the heat and humidity aren't as intense. We kept the ACs off all day and it was lovely. Fantastic to sleep with the window open and not listening to the AC unit click on and off.

I had a great day yesterday! It was my birthday and I got spoiled. Scott texted me in the morning to say happy b-day. Within minutes, he called to let me know that my mom had invited him to lunch. "Invite" was not quite accurate, apparently. She said that I was going down to see them and then the next thing he knew was Grandma yelling over to Grandpa that "Scott was joining us." He joked that it was a good thing he didn't have any plans because he would have had to cancel if he did since she was so excited that she was gonna see him. :p
I picked him up and had a fantastic convo on the ride, a wonderful lunch with my parents (who were on their best behavior), and chatted the entire drive home. He came back for dinner and Tom got home before the end of it. The only thing that would have made it 100% perfect is if Sam could have made it, but she was at work until 9 pm.

Gary got the toy shelves out of the attic for me and I am going to get the cabin cleaned out this morning. I cannot tell you how excited I am about this!
I also need to upload my two Color Play LOs before I head out, the kits are just stunning.

Wishing you lots of love today♥

@faerywings Congrats for being such an important part of the Weiss family!!! I loved my job at the fabric store so I really understand how happy you are. All the Lady O's are happy for you too I am sure. Looks like everything is working out for you and bonus your ankle/foot is finally better.
Thank you so much! My parents are really happy for me. I clean houses on the side and that is not fulfilling work at all. They always knew I was born to be a teacher since I was a kid myself. And loved nature- they were telling Scott a story when I went camping with friends of theirs when I was very young-- I don't even remember it-- but guess I loved being in the dirt way back then too.
guess I brought too much Florida weather up here...today is is raining and much cooler. It was actually hotter here in CT than in FL the last few days.
My friend is visiting her DD in FL (Orlando area) and said the same thing.
Then a fire that Reed built..this time no diesel fuel...I am trying to teach him the Girls Scout fire methods not his fathers method..
:rotfl: What's the fun in that? LOL!
Has he used hand sanitizer as a fire starter? We learned that hack during the fire course I took b/c it is commonly carried in your pack. I was terrified that I would use too muchso my fire didn't light the first time, hehe. The second try, I used more but my fires were still really small. Being the DD of a firefighter will do that to you. *G*
I helped Sarah feed the animals today...I sorta miss this life but the demands of animals are restrictive.
We like to just go and do what we want when we want.
MIL is a Cat Lady at heart but she says the same thing. She likes that she and FIL can pick up and go away for a few days and not have to worry about finding someone to take care of them.
How was the Hauler Parade?
WOW! I think you must be walking on cloud 9! What great news about your job! I'm so happy for you! :hug3:
TY!! I was telling Scott about it and originally he thought that I meant one of the small renal cabins (2 people sized) but when I told him which one-- he was amazed. I also had him cracking up at this:
Most of the first year there, I was "Scott's Mom." The other day, the director said that I am no longer Scott's mom, but *he* is now Chris's son. :floorlaugh:

Quick in and out this morning. I'm heading to my daughter's and we will be going out to breakfast and then to Save-a-Buck's. Then we will probably go back to her house and play some Qwirkle. We will play Rummikub if Abby wants to play as she doesn't like Qwirkle.
How fun to see DD and Abby.
Ugh about PSE! I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it first. Did you install any new fonts or tools? Every once in a while, I will install a font that does not play well with PS and it ends up locking up the software. As soon as I uninstall the font, the problem goes away.
I hope it is an easy fix for you.
10:00 am 82 degrees/feels like 85. High actual 95, haven't heard the heat index forecast yet. According to the app, we are out of the heat wave at the moment.
I hope that you get the same cool off that we did. We dropped about 30° in 24 hours.
We often underestimate ourselves, don't we- and it's good to see other's good perspectives of us.
We do and I wish I could see myself more clearly.
As to your question: I am most excited about a DD who thought of buying the muffins without me even thinking of it. Too Good!!!
 Isn't that the best!?! You raised a great DD ♥

Not much variety here- so its always a dilemma. Sp for our time tomorrow for the 8 of us- nothing to do here- at all- truthfully- there isn't. No entertainment or activity within 90 miles. And after a week of work, DS and DIL are not that open to a 4 hours in the car for a few hours fun. Plus there's the weather. I CRAVE a fun time- so we are racking our brains to try to come up with something, LOL I'm not the type that likes to do something so that we said we did it. At least next Spring/Summer we will have LOADS to do!
Did you figure out something to do? Board games? My family loves game nights which is a nice combo of fun but comfy.
hat's so awesome!! I love that you are included. They know an asset when they have one and they treat you that way. You are a gold mine for them. And the kids love you and you make it fun!!! What is so hard to believe about them including you!!
You are too darn sweet! I know I am a good teacher, but its just something I do, it is what I am. Nothing special. *shrugs* It's hard to explain but I appreciate hearing this. ♥

I am stiff and had to sit in the car again waiting on teens. Now I am home, feet up, not doing anything.
I hope you're feeling lots better today. How are all of the straw holes healing? All closed up and no more pain? *finegrs crossed for ya*
We were teaching kid to drive last summer and I asked, cant you feel the car?
What a smart way to teach them! Kinda like being one with The Force. But in a serious- this could save your life kind of way.

Better get going.
I am not sure how long I'll be at work but I want ot get there around 9 and head home around lunch. I'll bring snacks in case I am on a roll and I don't want to stop.

HAGD!

@faerywings First of all HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY. I'm glad you had a great day with the family for your special day.
Wow you are so lucky to get the cabin to fix up...I am sure you will make it super cool. You will really shine now with your own teaching spot. Lucky kids that are with you.
Your parents should be proud. How nice that you knew what you wanted to do right away. So many do not have a clue what they really want to do in their lives. I'm so lucky both of our kids knew what they wanted to do early on and went in that direction.
The cooldown arrived as quick as the heat wave.

@AK_Tracy I hope you are not sore today...you overdid it again.....oh women do that all the time. Chris' question about straw holes is a good one I have been wondering too. I listen to my car thanks to my Dad, my brother, husband and now my son.

@vickyday My husband hates games so we never play them. I never played Qwirkle but since you play it so much it must be fun. I play dominoes with grandchildren and love it. In FL at our club they have game night -we play LRC which is fun so I go to that. A group of us get together to play Bunko which is fun. Hubby will play trivia at the club and go out to play it so I guess I call that a win.

Last night we went to the Nascar Hauler Parade in the rain. I never went to one so found it interesting. Huge trucks hauling the race cars inside sponsor badges all over the trailers...flashing lights and horns, people cheering !!!! Noisy and fun. We set up a tent and so many people came in to get out of the rain. Nascaar Drivers were doing autographs so son and grandson got hats and shirts signed. The drivers came in our tent to get out of the rain so Mike loved talking to Corey Heim about he track since he was there driving it last weekend. Mike and family are camping in the track area for the weekend so they are all pumped up when they left this morning. I'm looking forward to the stories.
Tonight we are going to 80's movie trivia at the brewery with daughter and family so that will be fun.

Have a great day friends. Almost the weekend.

Morning all... Had a crazy dream this morning that the phone was ringing but no one would answer it. Woke and checked the phone but no calls had come in... The heat wave is back again.... 91*F yesterday and up to 93*F for the weekend and into early next week!!! Yes, the AC is running late at night as it isn't cooling down until 2-3 AM.

The yard guy had to cancel yesterday... he had to go to the medical clinic. We rescheduled it to next Tuesday. I will be running errands today that I didn't get to do yesterday. I did get 4 Color Play LOs uploaded last evening. Will get 4-5 more uploaded today and the rest uploaded tomorrow. Have to stay within the 5 LOs upload per day limit. :giggle4: Of course, I see more kits that I would love to play with now that they are in the shop!!!

@faerywings belated :birthdaygreet:!!! Sounds like you had a wonderful day. Congrats on the bonus in pay and getting the cabin for your use at Weis. Well deserved promotion... you are a born teacher. Had to LOL over Scott becoming "Chris' Son" there now!

Off to get my shower and dressed. Want to get my errands ran before it gets too hot (before noon). HAGD

Good Morning Family!

I had a great day yesterday! It was my birthday
Way to bury the lead Chris! Happy belated birthday!!!
:birthday2::birthdaygreet::birthday2:
Sounds like you had an awesome day!
I know I am a good teacher, but its just something I do, it is what I am. Nothing special. *shrugs* It's hard to explain but I appreciate hearing this. ♥
Oh but it is special. It takes a special talent and a very special person to teach others. I homeschool my kids but there is NO way I could teach others or mass amounts like you do. It is special.
@AK_Tracy I hope you are not sore today...you overdid it again.....oh women do that all the time. Chris' question about straw holes is a good one I have been wondering too. I listen to my car thanks to my Dad, my brother, husband and now my son.
Thank you Chris and Debby for asking about the straws. Yes, they have all scabbed up and are healing. My body is weird and incisions heal from the bottom up. So they scab over but then the scab pushes up until it falls out and leaves behind a hole which scabs over again and repeat. The skin recovers and fills in little by little from the bottom and it seems to take forever to fill in. Two out of six are totally filled in and "normal" now. Four of them are still thick heavy scabs.

I always thought everyone listened to and knew the feel of their cars but apparently that isn't the over all normal. Who knew. My daughter knows and feels her car too but two of my boys cant really feel the car but I think that's partly the CMT and they just cant feel it.
This sounds so much fun!!!!! How cool and what a memory. Cant wait to see photos. Back in the dark ages ('91) I went to CA with my dad and grandpa for NASCAR race and got a couple driver signatures. Such a fun memory.

Nothing happening today but laundry. YEAH! But I will have to use the dryer as its raining. We've been in a rain cycle for the last couple years. Its crazy how much rain we're getting. Yes we get one or two sunny days but its no longer weeks on end of warm sun. Not good for the bees thats for sure. If they cant find flowers we cant get honey. I dont need hot hot weather but I do need the sun and some drying out periods. Oh well, time for more coffee and not moving from the couch. Have a wonderful day!

Hey all. Today is the arty for our oldest Grandson's 12th. We decided to use our family time for it and are doing a Taco Bar party. His BD is Sun but DS will be gone most the day- playing guitar in a worship team in NC. So tonight it is. We just bought all the fixin's. $$$ LOL. I think it will be FUN. :cucumber: (<- that's a jalepeño) DIL had to take kids to water park today- for Straight A's report cards free admission, so in this heat they will be tired. Hopefully not too much. :praying2:
Mom fell - again! This morning- hurt her shoulder and hit her head. EMS took her to ER. Since its been over 3 hours, Hubster called hospital and they said she was sent home. If accurate, then that's good news! She's in hospice care and wasn't supposed to go to hospital again but her MedCall sent an ambulance. Oh, - just got text that nothing broken, she is going to be sore. Whew!
Having fun with DD.

Most of the first year there, I was "Scott's Mom." The other day, the director said that I am no longer Scott's mom, but *he* is now Chris's son. :floorlaugh:
WE did the same at church when DS was the Student Ministry Pastor. "Jordan is our son" instead of "We are Jordan's parents". A cabin?? OH WOW dance4:wow: That will be SUCH FUN! Again
iu
:cake2:.

Off to do salsas and food prep. . .

DD and SIL closed today on their end home. I'm so happy for them.
If you want to see Here

@tanteva so you don't make sauce for your spaghetti? You just use ketchup? I've never seen it that way, we lived in Italian neighborhood for 4 years so everyone cooked sauce all day. So that is what I learned.

@AK_Tracy so glad you are taking it easy...well that is your plan anyway. I sure hope it can happen.

I just got back from lunch with my sister it was fun catching up. I haven't seen her in a few years. She filled me in on my niece and nephew who I see on FB so I knew most of what was happening.

I love the switch in reference to Scott being your son!
No fonts added to bring on the PSE trouble. I need to get on Adobe site and see if I can reinstall it.

@BoatLady Debby what a beautiful house your DD and SIL bought. Looks like a great place to land forever.
So far, taking it easy physically. Mentally do all I haven't this week, bills, emails, work-ish style stuff LOL Almost done thought and its just noon. So yeah! One more load of laundry to go and dinners easy, boys are grilling.:love::love:

We played Code Names with the GS and GD yesterday. My daughter said Ryan wouldn't tell his Grandma no if I asked him to play, so I did. he and Abby actually played it a couple of times and then played another game with us. Then they were done. But I think they enjoyed it!

Beautiful home!

Good afternoon to all,
Spent the day with Ilene and Penny...a widow friend of Ilene's who goes to her church. We went out to lunch and I ordered Mark's supper while there so I don't have to cook tonight.

We showed Penny how to play Qwirkle but she bowed out and decided to read instead. She loves reading Amish stories.

Speaking of Amish, I finished the Pennsylvania pages and will start posting those when I finish this.

Mark worked until 2 today so he is napping in his recliner at the moment. It's nice and quiet!

That's it for me!
Have a great weekend!

It's Friday!! You know what that means, a half-day to myself! So happy for that after VBS this week! It's our biggest outreach event of the year, and it takes alot of work to put on! It was very enjoyable and fulfilling - I'm happy now for the rest!
@faerywings Happy Belated Birthday!! It sounds like you had a wonderful day! Belle was teaching VBS to her class. It was her regular class, with the special content. She said the change in routine for them didn't fare so well.
@vickyday you Pennsylvania pages look great! Looks like you covered alot of territory and had a great time!
@BoatLady Your DD and SIL's house looks adorable! Congratulations to them and I hope they have many happy memories made there!
@Amandajk I'm glad your mom was released and doing ok!
@tanteva My husband would LOVE ketchup and bacon on his spaghetti! I'll have to surprise him with that sometime.
@AK_Tracy God is so good! How wonderful to see how he protected you guys the other day.
Off to work on some Color Play Layouts! See you all tomorrow!

@tanteva so you don't make sauce for your spaghetti? You just use ketchup? I've never seen it that way, we lived in Italian neighborhood for 4 years so everyone cooked sauce all day. So that is what I learned

I do make sauce at times too (both tomato based and cream based), but it's very common in Sweden to just use ketchup instead. Sweden is on the top 3 list of countries that eats most ketchup per capita. I remember our home economics teacher telling us that ketchup is a condiment not a sauce.

When I was a teenager, I often cooked pasta when I got home from school, and ate it with just ketchup, black pepper and garlic powder.
