Good morning ladies! I'm afraid that if I don't get in here and get this done, the day will slip away and I won't post. Yesterday was busy...I started my workday at 7 since I had to go to the doctor yesterday. They did the cat scan but I'm not sure when I will hear the results. I'm pretty sure that the next step will be the heart cath.

My first bird visited the feeder yesterday. It was a titmouse. It's slow going but I'm being patient. Just thankful for no rats climbing the pole! The fence did get finished on Wednesday like they said. The dogs are grateful and so are we.

Still a million things to get done. Glad that the weekend is here. And Syd will be home two weeks from today...definitely final countdown

@taxed4ever I am sorry that you had those troubles with your credit card. That is so frustrating. I just don't know why those things happen. What is wrong with people? I know that you must be so excited for the family to all be there in August! And since it is now June...well, the time is going to fly!

@faerywings I so badly want to hear a blue jay now! I am loving the fact that Gary and you are getting out and hiking. That is just the best news!

@Cherylndesigns I'm pretty tall...still 5'8" after all these years but climbing into a high truck is no longer something that I want to try. And, I don't want a vehicle that I need to fall down into, either. Because that's what it is nowadays, falling down into it! I used to love cars that were low to the ground. Why can't I find my race car emoji?

@bcgal00 I hope that the appointments went smoothly yesterday. Anytime one is in the medical system, it requires a certain kind of patience.

@vickyday I bet that you are going to really miss your time with your sister. Where does she live in Florida? Was it close enough to drive or did she fly? Good luck on your weekend of prep for the colonoscopy! That's never fun but good for you for getting it done!

HAGD all!

Good morning Linda and to everyone!
Thanks for starting this, it makes me smile to see you here, Linda  especially since I feel like I running way behind schedule.
I woke up before 5 am and couldn't get back to sleep so I have absolutely no excuse. I think that subconsciously I want to make the most of today since it's supposed to get colder and rainy the next few days. I hope that it will be a steady, gentle rain because everything is super dry again. And because I need to clean *inside* my house. Caitlyn called to let us know she was driving a coworker home but they were stopping here first. I warned her that the house was awful since I spent all day outside. And it is, the inside is dusty and dog hair-y. OTOH, my backyard is looking better. I have most of the leaves raked into the woods. I only have one more section between my yard and my next-door neighbor's.
You'd think after hiking for an hour and a half and then two hours in the yard I would have slept a little longer. But no. #dk

Gary and I are 100% saps when it comes to the dogs. We never would have caved in to our human kids. The dogs-- ha! They give us the "eyes" and we cave. In a heartbeat.
We had planned to leave them at home so we could explore the trails on our own. I put my hat/boots on. They didn't seem to care. The *second* I got the backpack, W started to follow me around the house, whining. Then J started in. I was standing firm at that point but when I opened the front door to put my pack outside, W bolted to my car. She was bouncing around and barking and more bouncing and more barking. Then J started in and they both had me surrounded in excitement. I looked at Gary, he looked at me. "Guess we can explore the trails another day." Got their leashes and off we went. :runningdog:

Aside from cleaning here, I don't have major plans. Caitlyn is packing for the camping trip- they leave tomorrow and will be back on Wednesday. Scott got most of his packing done yesterday. This is their annual trip to Knoebels in PA. They started going about 6 or 7 years ago. Cait, Scott, and Sam are the OG group, they ditched Brendan (cait's ex), LL and Ian, added Tom, moved Sam and Scott together, and added Jen and her boyfriend Jake last year. Jen and Scott dated for a year in HS but stayed friends after they broke up. Talk about a very odd group. Bwuhahah!

Finish it :friday:
I'd *love* to finish cleaning my house but you know the second I do, someone (person or dog) will mess it up. :mopping:

@LSlycord Are you *sure* you want to hear a blue jay? They are really very annoying.
I hope that the CT test comes back with good results and soon. Do you think you might hear today? Good luck!
Yay for the fence getting finished, the girls must be so happy to run around. I swapped out the store mix hummingbird nectar yesterday and put sugar water in it. Still no sign of them yet but I'll try to be patient too.
Don't you love the Merlin app? I pulled it out when we were by the beaver lodge and heard so many different birds. Still can't see them anywhere, but I'm trying.
The next two weeks are going to go so fast and then Syd will be home. Don't you wish that time could have a volume control type dial where you can speed it up or slow it down as needed? As soon as the scientists figure out teleportation, they should work on that next. :nod1:

@taxed4ever what a mess with your credit card. It's maddening and the hoops you have to go through to get it fixed makes it even worse. The Hold Music is just the :censored: icing on the cake. It must have felt good to get your mind cleared on the hike.
Yes, August will be here before you know it. And that is when my Time Control Dial would come in handy.

@Cherylndesigns What a crazy dream although it sounds a *lot* like NYC. :rotfl:I would have woken up very confused too and glad to be in my own bed.
Congrats to Ava on her latest jujitsu stripe.
HAHA!! :princess: Cici and her stepstool
I am still poking around about the tanner. By the time I decide, it's going to be November.

@bcgal00 How did D's appt go? *fingers crossed that everything is healing well*
What a wonderful idea to have the book club at your house! I wish I lived nearby, I would love to join in. I was saying to Gary yesterday that I am starting to feel like I need to get out there and make some friends, then realize how anxious that makes me. At least I am *thinking* about it. it's a start. But look at you-- you pick up and move and have all of these new friends and activities. It is really awesome :)

@vickyday The time with your sister went fast-- I also guess that you are going to be happy to have the house to yourself again. That's great that your sister is already planning on coming back to visit. I hope you slept better last night but tonight you will have your own bed back yay!
I looked up your FB page and I can still see you. I found another way to report the page but none of it was working.

And it is past time for me to head out. Have fun today!

Happy :friday:everyone!! It is another beautiful sunny day here! No rain in the forecast for another week. My goodness we sure could use some moisture! I spent over 2 1/2 hours out on the Lake yesterday morning kayaking with SIL Linda. It was so much fun and the lake was like glass. We spotted 11 eagles fishing right near us. They were teaching the young ones and it was so interesting to watch them. Wish I would have had my phone with me so that I could have gotten some pictures! I am so afraid that I will drop it overboard, so I leave it behind. Perhaps next time, we will see. Today I need to get coupons done and then get to the store for a few groceries. We are hitting Costco tomorrow, so we will be gone for most of the day. Depending on what time we get back, we might attend the memorial service for a old high school friend. It's so sad, because next weekend it will be our high school reunion, he will be missed for sure!!

@LSlycord - Good Morning Linda and thanks for starting the chat thread today! I hope that all went well with your cat scan and that the heart cath will not be necessary. Yes the next couple of months will fly by and then so will the visit with the kids and grands darn it!! The summer will be over before we know it and we will all be complaining about the cold weather again LOL. Its a vicious circle!!

@faerywings - I had to giggle :giggle4: about the dogs not letting you go without them! Next time you will have to sneak out and put your gear on outside before they see you. If you ever get that time Control figured out send it my way would you?? This is going to be a busy month with our high school reunion coming up and prepping and shopping for the upcoming visit with the kids. I get my hair cut and color on the 6th and I need to do more painting of all the doors in the house. I got the metal door that opens to the garage painted yesterday afternoon and noticed that the two front entryway doors could use a fresh coat too. All of the window sills should be done and some of the baseboards need a touch up too. Uggh!!

@vickyday - That is so maddening that people think they should steal our credit card #'s and just have a fun shopping trip on us!! It really makes me angry! You are right they need to get a life!! Good luck with your colonoscopy, the prep is the worst part, you won't be leaving your house this weekend :toilet:.

@bcgal00 - How wonderful that you will be so busy with all of your new friends!! When will you ever find time to scrap LOL. What a great idea to host the book club at your place, it sounds like you have the perfect spot for the meetings! Sure hope that your D will be ok and that the MRI shows that all is well !! Enjoy your day today and I hope you find some great treasures at the thrift stores!!

@Cherylndesigns - OMG what a crazy dream you had!! Sounds like a combination of all the running around you did and everyone else posts from here the other day :floorlaugh:. I hope that last night was dream free!!

Ok I need to get coupons sent out today for sure and if I stay in here much longer it just won't get done. Have a great Friday everyone and I hope that the sun is shining for all of you today!.

Good morning ladies. D is doing well. It was a long day with wound care appt and then later the MRI. We talked about medical care here (specifically the lack of it) and will see what happens with Alberta over this next year. Right now they have more doctors and do have walk in clinics which we don't have, plus Calgary has more hospitals. So, we'll see what happens and next spring if the Alberta medical system is still better than here, we may consider selling and moving somewhere outside of Calgary but within an hour's drive. Also depends on the home values here. I know that real estate dipped a bit so not sure what our value is right now. We'll see. I love it here but if we have to move, I could be happy in Alberta too. Homes are cheaper and there is more wildlife, so either way, I'll be happy.

Today I will go pick up a few chairs I found on marketplace for the room downstairs (for the book club). I've got about 10 members already and expect more over the next week or so. I'll start it next month.

Still no hummingbirds have come to the feeder. I'll leave it up for the summer. It's cheap enough to keep it full of sugar water and maybe eventually one will find it. Our area is probably not a popular area for them b/c its so dry and lack of flowers/bushes that they like.

@faerywings I can relate about the dogs LOL. Remi gets so excited when I get my shoes, purse or coat. I always feel so bad when I can't take her with me. In the summer it is just too hot here for her to be left in the car so I can only take her if I am going to the lake or park. Glad you and G are getting out for walks.

@LSlycord Glad you are getting the tests needed. So cool that you got a titmouse. We had them in the Vancouver area but never at my feeders.

@taxed4ever That's so cool to see all the eagles when out kayaking. Many girls in our group kayak, sure wish my back could handle it, I would love to do that.

I'll work on my CT stuff later today and do some house chores, after I get back from picking up the chairs. Time to get more coffee and get dressed. HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

Well, no dreams last night that I can remember. Whew. That one night before last was a doozie. It's gorgeous here today and supposed to be in the 80's again. I spend quite a while up at Adrienne's yesterday afternoon. Didn't get home until almost 6:30.

Linda @LSlycord hope you get a good report on your MRI. Was is an open MRI or one of those tunnel things? They'd have to knock me out to get me in one of those tunnels. I had one, once, but it was open. Glad you got the fence installed and that you've had a bird already.

Vicky @vickyday good luck with your procedure. Is this your first?

Rae @bcgal00 I saw on FB that D was in the hospital. I missed it on here but see you talking about medical systems, and wound care. Hope it's not too serious and medical anything is a bummer. They're all overloaded and understaffed and what staff they have leave much to be desired.

Chris @faerywings I hear ya about the dogs. Those eyes are what get you. Daisy starts that every day if I put my walking shoes on. She knows which pair I walk in. I would love to take her but as you know, she's a runner. We have a lot of property for them to run on, but there's also a very busy county road that I aways worry she'll get out to. Cars whiz by there - it's at the very top of our property. I've about relegated my Jergens Glow to the parts of my arms (upper) and upper parts of my legs. I usually wear shorts, but above that "short line" doesn't get exposed to the sun and my upper legs look kind of splotchy. So I'm concentrating on those parts. Hope Cat has fun camping with the "Odd Group". Nothing sounds odd to me though. BWAHAHA

Trudy @taxed4ever I hear you about waiting on the phone and that music - gag. I think most of these companies need to get a life. It sure isn't like it used to be. You're lucky if and when you get to talk to a person.

Well, I'm off to see the wizard. I need to work on my challenges - tweak number (I don't know the exact number) on one of them and I'm just starting on the other one.

Hugs to everyone who needs one and XOXO.

Without stops, GPS quoted 8 hours and 48 minutes. Easy enough to drive, but she did enjoy flying last year! Her address is Palm Bay near Melbourne.

Good Afternoon,
My sister left around 9 this morning. The bed linens have been washed and replaced and our bed is ready for re-occupancy tonight!!!
The dishes are caught up and the laundry is almost there! I have MY recliner back (I let her sit in it while she is here because of her hip problems). And I'm ready to get back to scrapping!!
I re-read the colonoscopy prep instructions and I don't start with the Dulcolax until 2pm Sunday followed by 64 oz of the Gatorade/Miralax mixture at 4 p.m. I have to drink 8 oz. every 20 minutes until it is gone, followed by plenty of clear liquids. The last Miralax I take is at 5am Monday morning.....20 oz of Gatorade with 4 capfuls of Miralax! I'll be so glad when all of this is over!
My OBGYN appt had to be rescheduled to August. I have a dentist appt later this month. After that I want to "have my head examined" to see if the cause of my headaches can be determined. Lord willing I will be able to put all of the doctor stuff behind me for another several years, LOL! ;)
Hope you all have a great day!
:bye2:
