Happy almost weekend. Happy sunshiney day from NJ! Happy... day? LOL
I am in fake it til you make it mode. Just in case you didn't notice. *winks*

So let's see, what good things do I have to share? Scott went to Leah's yesterday and they are both coming back here either today or tomorrow. The "bubble" is working out well for them.
The rats are doing really well, Livvie's fur is almost all grown in. And the babies' incisions are looking fantastic too. I got to give them lots of Cheerios and I am making sure I pet the babies before I give them treats. Otherwise, they grab the Cheerio and take off and hide. Bad babies.

Not much planned for today other than picking up groceries.

Jean- Whew, glad that you have your car back, just in time to have your lawnmower break down. It never seems to end, does it? Gary had to get a new hedge trimmer the other day since ours also went kaput.
Happy birthday to him!!! I am having a hard time with all of the b-days and celebrations also. I am sure just spending time together is a good thing.
That is funny about finding our Zoom has a whiteboard, better late than never haha!!!!!
We have leis and paper pineapples. I added sweet potatoes to the grocery list, Cait makes some fried sweet potato dish that I think will work for her since she won't eat chicken obviously.

Nancy- You and Luteh must be adoring the weather. It got slightly humid yesterday but overall, it wasn't bad at all. Did it rain by you? It looked like it might but never did and then the sun came out around 2.
All of your food sounds so good, love that you included BA in your gratitudes.

Kay- Why does it feel like wildfire season never ends? I hope that they get under control very quickly and that the smoke doesn't trigger any coughing.
How is your back today? That is a great score on the hand soap, I haven't been able to the refill size at all since this started. Your governor sounds like she has s decent grasp on the virus restrictions and I hope that you don't see a spike. AZ, FL, TX are a huge mess. So far, so good in NY and NJ- but if there is a post-opening spike we won't know for a few weeks.
I am sorry to hear that your family is working on reduced hours/furlough. It is so hard for everyone. All I can say to him is that he has a roof over his head and we would never kick him out. But he and Leah have been together for almost 8 years and they want to get a place of their own someday. He paid off all of his student loans right before al this went down, thinking that he had a job to build his savings up and now- nothing.:( And we aren't in any sort of a position to help him or Cait other than keeping that roof over our heads.

Felis- soooo good to hear from you!! I am glad that things are going well for you and that life seems to be getting back to normal. Yay!!!

Hugs!!!

good morning - it is a lovely day. Not too humid. DH and Luther were out early so I will go later. I have started watching Sweet Magnolias on Netflix. So far I like it. My son and his MG stopped by and we had a nice talk while he took his PS4 and set up my apple TV. So I still have my streaming available. I am hearing that Disney+ is going to be releasing Hamilton. I am looking forward to that for sure! My son sent me photos of him gardening with her and her kids. It is just amazing an he does not like sun but he and they all did such a good job. They cant wait to for the veggies grow. good for the kids a bit of responsibility to make sure they get out and water them.

Chris yes the weather is pretty good. Not too humid. Enjoy a calm day. Not sure what you should eat for a your Hawaiian night. I doubt you are roasting a pig LOL.

Kay OMgosh so sorry about the back spasms. Glad you have the medicine to calm that down. My sister said fires in AZ are bad. Sorry you are getting their smoke.

Felis good to hear from you. Glad things are good!

Good morning ladies... a hazy morning, but I can see some patches of blue sky out there so hopefully it will be a sunny afternoon! I was MIA from here all day yesterday and only turned my computer on to order a gift for Hunter's upcoming birthday and to face time with Heather and the boys. SIL Linda called in the morning and wanted to come for a visit and had some things that she wanted me to paint for her. Well the visit lasted quite a long time and she has, many large projects for me to paint for her LOL. At least they do not have to be done quickly as a couple are Christmas gifts and one is a birthday gift to a friend whose birthday is in October. She changed her mind a half dozen times as to what exactly she wanted on everything, so I told her to sleep on it and let me know when she finally decides LOL. Then I had to run out and deliver an order of Norwex to a friend, we talked for a bit and then back home to get dinner started and worked on a birthday card for FIL. I could not believe how fast the day went by! That is when I realized that I had not even posted here in the morning. So our hike on Wednesday was really great!! The weather was perfect and warm and the hike was very long, with lots of different terrain and few ups and downs. Stunning views of the Cowichan Valley and so nice to be in the company of my fellow hikers. I was a bit stiff yesterday from the hike as it was a almost 12 Km hike. My shins are feeling it today! Today I will start on a card for my Sister's birthday next weekend. The three of us will go to Butchart Gardens and have high tea. I made reservations last week for that as they only allow so many in the tearoom of course. The little ferry that we can take across starts up again the day before, so I hope that it won't be a problem with long lineups to catch it! I really need to check the times for departure again to make sure we can get across early enough. Unfortunately we can't make reservations for this ferry. If we have to we can make the drive, but it sure saves lots of time if we can catch the ferry!

Chris - I saw your pages with the new collab by Vicki Robinson and Crafty Button, they are fabulous!! I am happy for you that Scott and Leah will be with you for a couple of days, it is so sad that Scott doesn't have a job to start up his savings again! I am sure that they would love to have a place of their own, but at least they have you and Leah's family for support! It is a good thing that Scott got his student loans paid off and he doesn't have that worry looming over his head! I will keep my fingers crossed for him that he gets some kind of employment soon! I am happy that you are finding some cuddle time with the rats and that everyone is doing well! Good luck with your grocery pick up! I hope you got everything that you ordered and that there are no surprises!

Jean - Uggh on the lawn mower crapping out on you! What will be next I wonder as everything happens in three's right!! Happy Birthday to your DH! I hope he enjoys a lovely day and I bet he really enjoys that apple nutty bread!! :hungry: I forgot to take photos of the trinkets, but others did so I will get some from them soon and will share with all of you.

Nancy - Glad to hear that the humidity is better for you today! Wow that is great that your son is now into gardening with his MG and her kids! Yes good to have the kids take part in the fun of veggie growing and watering! Nice that they popped in for a visit with you too! Enjoy your day today! I will have to watch to see if that show Hamilton starts up on disney+ too!

Kay - Oh that is sad that the fires are so bad around your area!! It must be awful to know that it is so close! Hopefully the smoke clears for you soon and you can open the windows once again! Hoping that your back is feeling better today also!

Felis - So happy to see you posted here yesterday! Glad to know that all is well with you and that you are figuring out a good schedule for your back to work!

Ok I better get my morning chores done. Already had a nice long talk with Heather and the boys and should check in with our son and family today also! Have a lovely day everyone!

Late getting in here this AM. The smoke is still bad so staying in and hibernating. The fires in NM and AZ are a few hundred miles from us but the winds are out of the southwest so blowing the smoke our way. Yes, the back is still stiff and ready to spasm if I move wrong... so another day of taking it easy.

On the good news front... I tried blow-drying my hair a bit differently and was pleased at how it turned out. Haven't had my hair at chin length in years. I am doing it in a modified pageboy look. So have decided to not have DD#1 cut it for now. I may pick up some side combs so I can pull it back since it is long enough now. I can even get it into a short stubby ponytail.... Who knows... I may even decide I like a longer length.

Ooops... call coming in from DD... CYL
