Oh, but for the love of coffee....:D I feel like I should write a poem about this stuff. Ode to Coffee or something like that although I am sure that it has been done many times already.

How is everyone this morning/day? I am pretty tired, but nothing outrageous. (Nothing another pot or two of coffee won't cure ha!!) I spent hours cleaning this little box of an office. It is hard to clean because it is so small and I need to stand on/crawl under furniture to get to all of the dust/cobwebs/dog fur. I also went through and shredded tons of papers from years ago. I had all of the kids' Lyme paperwork and notes from the LLMD. I forgot how sick they were and how scary it must have been for them. There was a piece of paper that Caitlyn had written a few questions on. One was asking if I thought she would be able to keep doing gymnastics (I thought that she could but it turned out that I was wrong.) Another was "Can you die from Lyme?" That was a gut punch. I hadn't written an answer but I am very confident that we talked about that face to face. I wish I knew what I told her- b/c you most definitely can die from Lyme but I doubt I said that.

I spent some more time on that darn puzzle I think I got about 10 more pieces together and Cait got a few too. I am going to take a picture of it today so I can show you how awful it is. LOL
I have to run a few errands today since I never made it out of the house yesterday. I might take a quick run to the Dollar Store to see if they have mini-loaf pans.
If I can get my act together, I also want to spend some time in the yard this afternoon. I still need to get that tiny raised bed mulched and keep spraying the zucchini leaves.

Wishing all of you a happy and sunny day!

Nancy- It was pouring rain yesterday here too. The dogs didn't want to go outside at all. Ray's fur is still probably wet. :p The sun is out today, hope you have that too since it looks like we are going to be rainy/cloudy for the next week. Yuck! It must have been pretty exciting for the Blues to get their first Cup. (Sorry again, T!)
Haha!!! I knew that you wouldn't have to wait long before the next season's preparations begin. But yes, we need to have an actual summer first.
The mildew is common in squash plants and it could be from rain/watering from above. It is another reason that I need to get that patch mulched so there is better drainage and the water won't splash back up.
Poor spider- I won't tell Caitlyn!

Jean- I am so happy that you got to enjoy a lovely day with your group. How was the new MM Class?
Nope, dogs and gardens don't mix. My other dogs never messed around with them, but W-- well she is one of a kind. When she gets wound up, she does this strange "flop to the ground, front legs splayed, and bounce/wiggle all around quickly." It is funny to see her do that on the grass or on the carpet, but not so good in a garden with dirt and plants flying around. :pound:
The more you try to get her to calm down, the more hyper she gets.

Kay- I am so excited to try this new hotel-- the room we booked has a "side ocean view" *swoon* I will be asking and begging for good weather vibes come September.
How was the senior's luncheon?

Felis- Bet your haircut feels great! I still like to keep mine long in the summer so I can pull it back or braid it but I know lots of people who go shorter. Did you do before and after pictures?
That must have been a strange sight to see all of the cups broken and I chuckled at all of the different theories. That is sad that the chicken cup got smashed but I hope that it does bring good luck!

hugs!!

Morning ladies... I was absent from here yesterday and not because of the Bruins loss :mmph: just very busy with our company and feeding everyone etc. Yes it was a tough loss but they really did not deserve to win, they gave up after the first goal was scored and forgot how to play their game! Oh well maybe next year LOL. This morning we are all up early to say goodbye to our friends as they continue on with their journey over to Sechelt and helping their SIL with a few things that needed to be taken care of. Then they will head back home. It sure was good to see them again and re-live so many good times that we have had over the years. The silly things our kids used to do together while they were growing up and how wonderful it is that they have turned out to be such amazing grownups!! Lots of laughs! We will miss them! So I will close off this post for now and get everyone some coffee and then we must say our goodbyes  I will catch up with you all in a bit.

good late morning - It is partly cloudy and cool but at least no rain as of yet. Luther is at doggie day care and my DH is at the eye doctors figuring out what to do about his detached retina. My DH says it is minor but for me nothing with eyes is minor. It took me reminding him to finally get this going. So he goes in next Wed. I am so glad this is finally getting done. Got more scrapping done while watching lots of the Women's World Cup soccer. It really is good as background as there is lots of running around before any goal is scored. thanks so much for all the comments you all leave on my pages. It is funny as I have read the comments so many people have thought that the spoonbills were flamingos. I probably would have thought the same thing before I really got into birding as they are both big pink birds that stand on one leg. Also made it to the store when the rain finally stopped.

Chris yes we have some sun but not enough. So strange to think that we have not even hit 90 this year. Summer starts next week! Congrats on the cleaning! That is something to have found (the questions) and to see how well your kids are now. That has to make you feel so good to know that all that work you put in to their health and dealing with the schools.

Trudy you are probably correct that Boston really thought they were going to win and it would be easy after the beat down they put on the Blues in game 6. I know that Rask is a great goalie but the poor guy had no work in the first and those two goals were in no way his fault but he probably will still not be given his due as he still has not brought the Cup to Boston. So glad you had friends to share such good memories.

Jean sounds like your meeting was awesome! And I think it is so awesome that you are continuing with your MM class.

Kay well after all the weeks luncheons is today a day of rest. Did your yard guy ever come? or did you have to get out the duct tape!

Felis congrats on the hair cut! That is too bad about the cups all breaking. I have had to put up a lot of my favorite things with Luther growing and his tail is so strong. I had no idea broken glass is good luck.

Have a great day all!

It's a lovely day though a tad windy. DH did his bird survey and saw a Bald Eagle and two turkeys among the regular birds. Yesterday the mixed media class was very good. We have some new people and for the moment are missing a few from last time. We worked on collage with the embossed white wallpaper that I used once before. I quite like what I did though DH seemed under-whelmed by it. ;) It's up on my blog now. A little before we finished someone noticed the sky to the SW out our windows. It was very dark! I thought you had to leave right then or wait it out. A couple did leave but the rest of us stayed during the stormy downpour until about half an hour late. It was actually quite pleasant talking and looking at others' work. Rained more last night too. Tomorrow is my computer genealogy group meeting when I can relax and enjoy, only having to do my user group. Of course I have to navigate the freeway detour first.

Chris, saw your puzzle pictures and feel your pain. Knowing you all are pretty good at them, it has to be a bear to do. How poignant to find Cait's questions about Lyme back then. At least the answers she got by living through it were both not so good (gymnastics) and very good (it still has all of you living!) Hope you get into the garden getting things mulched and all.

Trudy, wonderful visit you must have had with tons of good memories. Probably made the disappointment from the game of less consequence by having them with you. Of course it kept you very busy getting ready for them and then feeding everyone. Just wait till the kids are there and you're busy almost every minute! But happy.

Nancy, can't imagine letting the retina repair go like that, but good for you getting him going on it. The soccer is fun to watch though I haven't seen much yet. Hope you get some sun and warm, but I sure can wait for any hot weather (like forever!) I was surprised at folks thinking flamingo, but then I've known the difference for a long time. The only wild flamingos I've ever seen were in the Yucatan in Mexico. I am thoroughly enjoying your Florida trip pages of all those birds. Great memories for me too.

Felis, congrats on the haircut, but I like mine long in hot weather when I just clip it up on my head and out of the way. How strange it must have been to see the broken cups with no obvious cause (at first). Sorry about the broken chicken cup! But if it gives scrap inspiration, that's good.

Kay, bet the senior luncheon was a nice time. Did the BBQ theme come out again? Hope your weather is nice and you've gotten the waterworks fixed.

Been busy all morning working on trying to salvage some old film photos that when they were developed the negatives and prints all had a red cast to them... instead of the true colors. It had something to do with how the film was processed. Found out on Monday [at a webinar] that I could use PSE Guided Edit - Restore Old Photo.. and it would take most of the redness out of my scanned/digital photos. Whoo-whee!! Of course, because they were from the old style 110 camera, the details are not sharp like we get with our digital cameras.. I think I can do some other digital 'tweaks' to them to make them a bit clearer. Since these are of my hubby's Navy Retirement ceremony, I really want to get them repaired and printed for his album... which has the "red" photos right now.

No, my yard guy never did call so I bit the bullet and looked to see if I could repair it (at noontime). Decided to just cut the line so it is straight and put a 'plug' in it to stop the leak. Thank goodness DH had all the stuff for the drip system in a bin and I found the plug. Checked it out and the plug seems to be holding. Of course, I was running back and forth from garage to front yard while I was working on this. Guess I was in the sun off and on for about 30 minutes... and you guessed it.... I got a sunburn on my arms! I forgot about the sunscreen until they started itching and feeling hot. I know better as I am very fair and sensitive to the sun.

Yes, the senior luncheon was fun and it was a true potluck.. had everything from fried chicken, fresh salad, potato salad, cheese, pinto beans, Sloppy Joe's, and several different desserts. I did have enough left-over to freeze a couple of small dishes of Sloppy Joe's to have later on.

I got a headache from being in the heat. It has been getting up to mid-to-high 90's the past couple of days. I have been drinking lots of water but guess the heat outside got to me while I was out there working. Time for a pain pill and drink even more water even though I have had almost a gallon already. Hello dears,
I better to not look thru the window, because my part of the garden looks so umm... wild ?!, my family says 'bad', but I see only wild. I tried but my allergy react so fast that I'm not able to stand it. My mom offer to do it instead me, but with reprehensible tone, and this angry me! I guess I'll have to give up and take a pill. Every true love in my life was unreciprocated and this with the nature too! Hmm, you see what my weekend plans are. But I also was in great creative mood, and hope to can keep it and scrap few more pages!

To all, About my yesterday post: you all are soo sweet! Nope I don't made before and after haircut pics, as its not so visible, it was under my shoulder and now is on it so to not wiped at tons of antiperspirant I wear at summer LOL . But still enough long for poni tail, as I have to do during work, or when clean. Strange that no one is hear this for "broken glass brings happiness", I guess it's just a local superstition.

Hahaha Chris, count me in the coffee club! Have one coffee song which is something as a soundtrack of my summer this year and inspired my coffee layout, if you want can hear it here. https://youtu.be/y4541OJUGws It's by this Italian singer I like a lot!
Oh this about the kids questions is so scary and touchingly! Hope that all bad is behind your back now! Great reminder to be more focused at enjoin on every day and less complain for silly stuff!

Kay, it must be very special to work with these old photos, and I'm so happy for you that you're found way to edit them better! Hooray for being able to fix the drip system by yourself! Girls power!!! Not surprising that got headache from being in the heat, hotness is very tricky! Hope you get well soon!

Jean, the new work is interesting and fairy tale at some point, reminds me of children book cover for good night! Sounds very fun to get some additional time and just to chat with the other members at the course!

Nancy, totally agree nothing with eyes is minor!!! My family has problems with the eyes genetically and we all aren't enough careful, which is totally bad. Good to have someone responsible near to you, great wife! Good wishes to your husband!

Trudy, happy to hear that the game don't make your meeting less joyful!

Have a lovely weekend girls!
