GooOd morning! How are you all today? I am feeling *extremely* lazy. More than usual lazy but it is Friday and a three-day weekend in the USA. Weekends, holidays- bwuhahahahah!!!! Yup, I am feeling a bit on the edge of hysteria. Part of me feels numb to the sheer numbers of COVID cases. We are breaking records every darn day. (chants also a little bit maniacally *U-S-A! We're #!*). Part of me is very concerned. NJ has been doing well, opening up very cautiously. And wouldn't you know it, my town's cases are starting to rise. We had no cases at all for several weeks. None. Nada. Zip. Last week, we had 6 new cases. Yesterday- we had four in one day, including a 9-year-old. I honestly can not see how things are going to get back to whatever semi-normalness is possible. It is kinda terrifying which is why I am feeling a bit hysterical when I look at the numbers.
I know a lot of people are starting to visit with friends, eat outdoors (NJ's indoor is still closed which is very smart), go shopping. It makes my stomach clench when I think about this. I ask myself all of the time: Am I overreacting??? Then I think of Gary, my kids, my mom- my dad who is 81. Even though he is not as high risk as my mom-- he is still high risk. How do I justify any of this? :noidea: My library is opening next week. 25% capacity and for no longer than 30 minutes. I am scared to even do that. I will put books on hold and run in and out but overall, I am terrified! Maybe I am overreacting. I don't know anymore.

So enough of that for now. Go back to being numb, it is way easier, Faery hahaha!!!

Yesterday-- what did I do? I cleaned a bit, paid some bills. I weeded out another area of the side of the woods and I am 99.9% sure I got poison ivy. I showered and scrubbed as soon as I came in but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I need to get poison ivy soap.
I also go the new meds for Ray. The Dasaquin that she on is a lower dose than J so now I need to buy 2 bottles of that every few months. $$$$$ Ca-ching... The bright spot is the SM-MED dose is less than the LG dose... there is that...

We had a really long conversation after dinner with the three kids. Almost 2 hours. We covered gun control, criminal justice reform, COVID, contact tracing and privacy issues. Throw in some info on animals, video games, and some gossip on family members and we got it all. haha!

I spent an hour cleaning up my hard drives (not my "head drives" as I typo'd yesterday but that would be nice if I could do that too) and still have lots to go. I had kept kits from two designers that I CT's for her that had passed away and couldn't get rid of them. I decided to keep a few from each.
I still had so much more to go through.

I hope that I can convince Gary and Cait to watch Hamilton with me tonight. Cait is up for it, Gary said he would watch even though he isn't interested.
Looks like it is cloudy ATM, please let it stay crummy all day so I don't bail on everything and spend all of my time outside.

What fun things do you have on tap for the day? I hope you have a fantastic day!!

Kay- Hope that your mammo was quick and painless as possible. I know this sounds bonkers but I actually can't wait to get mine done. I am overdue for a mammo, overdue for an MRI, haven't seen my breast surgeon in well over a year. I don't even know if she still takes my insurance.
OH wow!! That is is crazy about the whirlwind and how localized it was. You must have been very relieved that there was no damage. Hope that your weather is perfect for you today.

Nancy- haha, again... Luther cracks me up! Did you hit 90*? We were close to that, the car thermometer said 91 while I was waiting at the vet, but my phone said only 87. Either way, it was hot. Gary had the AC blasting and all the fans going and I was naturally buried under two blankets LOL
It has taken me forever to not try to convince Scott on gun control issues. He and I will never agree on it. So we *try* to focus on things we can agree on. He feels that everyone should have a gun, I wish no one did (other than for hunting or in well-trained situations) but we do agree that people should be required to have instruction/training similar to having a driver's license. It is hard when you don't agree. I don't know how anyone can drive a motorcycle either, Gary says it isn't hard but I dunno! When will he be able to take the road test?
Poor Luther and the storms. Will he have a tough time this weekend with fireworks? J and Ray will. Even though Ray can't hear them, she feels them and that freaks her out.

Trudy- Bet that you are happy to have cooler weather. Please adopt me. I want to have same-day grocery pick-up -along with all of the other wonderful benefits of being Canadian :D
You hike sounds wonderful and rejuvenating and sich great news that Gary's knees were ok.
Your neighbors rock! How fun to have a s-d street celebration!! Did you get any pics? That would make a great LO.
Argh!! Why would anyone think it is a good idea to fly? Glad that your son isn't even considering it.
Our next theme is Harry Potter but we re-watched the entire series last summer so we aren't sure if we want to do anything like that. I am going to ask the fam if they want to make it Wizard or Sorcerer Night instead. What kinds of movies go with that? Disney's Sword and the Stone. LOTR. *puts thinking cap on*
What an adorable mug and I would think of Felis with that too! So cute!

Felis- I am knocking on wood that only good things come your way. Don't let anything spoil your happiness. Hey girl! Go read my last few weeks of posting and tell me if they are any different. I complain about grocery shopping and cooking dinner. I clean the house and I go out and weed. I have been doing only those things for *months* so don't worry if you tell us something again.
Unfortunately, the cleaning was only this one time since they were away on vacation. Better than nothing but not what I would like to be doing.
Hope that you feel better about life soon.

Oh! Gratitudes:

-that Ray is better on her feet, she only stumbled once yesterday

good morning - today is hot and humid! Luther and my DH went for walk and I went a bit later. But at least it was done before the storms appear. Yesterday it was over 90 degrees. Luther has learned when the AC goes on he heads there to his bed. I know I would not want to wear a fur coat in this weather. I also have not been in the mood to cook. Just had hot dogs. But I do like hot dogs LOL! Got a lot of scrapping done. It was fun using my son's photos. I also watched two movies - the spy who dumped me and the remake of Overboard. Both were fun to watch but nothing will come close to the original Overboard. I have set aside this afternoon to watch Hamilton.

Chris we are mostly cloudy and I am thinking that is good, less it heats up less storms. Glad that you have found new meds for Ray. And glad to know I am not the only parent who had hard talks with their kids. Hope the poison ivy is not too bad! One of my friends got it so bad that she had to go to the hospital. That stuff is nothing to play with. That is something that you have had so many new cases though I guess we should not be surprised. Our city has not given out any updates lately. My DH said on his walks that there were servals outdoor yoga classes going on in parking lots, tables set up for outdoor eating and people from gyms working out. There were socially distanced.

Trudy glad the hike went so well and especially that your MG's knees did so well. I am sure that everyone wants so badly to see the kids and grandkids. Your son is smart and knows flying won't happen. I guess with hockey players you worry that a respiratory disease could hurt them now and for their future. It seems so late they should just wait. But it sounds like you in Canada have done so well that the games will be in Toronto and Edmonton. The mugs is adorable!

Kay must have been nice to sleep on your new sheets and had a great time with your daughter.

Felis summer is for adventures for sure. Hope you find yours!

Good Morning ladies... It is a rainy cool morning on 13C or 56F much cooler than it should be this time of year. We did however need the rain and now I will not have to go out and water all my plants in the back yard at least. Off to pick up my groceries this morning and then not much else happening around here. I really want to get back to painting, but what is the point, no one is buying anything I make these days and I am getting discouraged. Oh well I guess I can paint just for me right?? I was happy that I got a page done and uploaded to the gallery yesterday! I just love the Designer Challenges! Heck I love all the challenges!

Chris - I will have to remind my little Sadie that Hamilton is on today! I can't wait to see it and talk about it with her! Oh darn it I did not take any pics of our little Canada Day Party, but yes it was really cute! I will happily adopt you, but you won't be able to come and join me here in Canada for awhile yet LOL. It is so sad that there are so many more cases in your Country! I hope that soon there will be a vaccine and then maybe we can get back to some kind of normal life! We are in stage 3 of opening up here in B.C. but I am still wary of people travelling here! Apparently there was a couple from Alaska stopped in Port Renfrew, no where near where they needed to be to get back to Alaska :mmph: really people this is not the time to go on Vacation and the border is closed to the States so WTH?? we want to stay COVID free people!! How do these people get passed the border?? Someone is not doing their job!! Ok enough ranting LOL. I hope that you find something fun to do today and that you will find something great to do for your Harry Potter themed night!

Nancy - Ugh it is very warm for you and Luther! Poor guy, must be hard to be a big dog in the heat! I really like hot dogs too!! When it is that hot and humid no one feels much like cooking or eating much either! Hope that things cool down for you soon!

Felis - Yup we all talk about the same old same old so don't feel bad about sharing the same things over and over again with us LOL. I wish for you that you find a wonderful new adventure at some point this summer! I hope that the hedgehogs come to visit you in your garden too! Please get some photos if they do!

Ok off to the grocery store to get my order and then I need to mail off a little parcel to Sadie today. Heather needs some things at our store that she can't get out there, so I will have to mail that out to her today also. Have a great Friday everyone!

Yesterday felt like it was 48 hours long... When I went for my mammo [at the Physician's Bldg right next/part of the hospital] the parking lots were almost totally full. Ended up parking in a handicapped spot but it was about the same as 1 1/2 blocks away from the entrance. Temp was about 94 with no shade so walking in the heat. The humidity was about 8% so very dry heat! When they checked my temp [no touch forehead reader] it was 100*. The gal said you walked a ways, did you??? Then had me wait off to the side for about 2 minutes and retook it... 98.2*. The mammo went fine but by the time I walked back to the car, all I wanted to do was head home and put my feet up and have a huge glass of cold water!

I had washed my new sheets but waited until DD#1 came over this morning and she helped me make the bed up. Can hardly wait to sleep on them as they feel so soft and smooth!!! Told DD that I would like to have another set if she has to go to Costco again. She brought over the ointment for my eye as it had arrived there yesterday. Today is another scorcher already 92 by noon.

Trudy, I hear you about not being sure if it is worth it for you to be painting... but if it gives you pleasure and fills some of the empty hours, it is probably worth doing. <<< hugs >>>

Ooopps... DD is calling - back later.

Hi girls!
Oh thank you for your encouragement comments, I'll try to be more creative with what I have! So here is funny story for you today.
You know how celebrities encourage their followers on social media to use this time in isolation for something useful as body improvement. It's basically four pictures of Miles Kane (or Professor Green, or other musicians) wearing speedos, when you are so hypnotizing to watch him, that it is easily to forget how he actually already had a perfect body! One of the reason his groupies to follows him during the whole tour is because he hate to play in sweat and if the club is too warm he play shirtless. So yes he start this 'improvement' from a very good place and it's not the same if you start from jelly belly, but however these trunks can convince you to try everything! So my sister who is very into exercises and healthy living, did some kind of 30 days challenge, but in women variation. Then check her weight and is with 2 kilos up, WHATtt? And we are crashed! How is possible someone who exercise so hard to gain weight instead to get in shape?! So we blamed my moms love to fry things. We eat a lots fry past month, because it's a zucchini season. I refused to check my weight, as I wasn't been strict nor in yoga or dog walks. But guess what, on the next day my sister check again and she is 5kg down, check again hours later and again 2kg up. LOL. She try with something with constant weight huge box of washing powder (my idea) and it is 2kg up, two hours later 3 down LOL. She is broke her weighing machine and somehow it's show different numbers on every turn on. LOL. Sorry mom, it wasn't your cooking, it was fine! I checked and I'm like usual. Something that I know from my grandma is that gardening is actually excellent exercise, so I'm not in so bad shape.
Also we had very interesting conversation with Vicki about the yoga, here in the forum, and maybe I'll use these two ongoings to scrap about myself in the July challenge. Will see!

Chris, there is a rational level of vigilance, just don't let it grow in anxiety and depression! It's not only you, I saw lots of americans to post comments as "wear your f** mask ***" in IG, come down folks!!!. , here is EU, respect our own decision and independence! We follow what our own government is told, your opinion is not the only one in the world!
How nice that you have so long and productive conversation with your family! Cleaning your head is idea for layout I had for months, but actually never sit to do it! It just can't fit in any challenge, not previous month not this. Hope the poison ivy is not too bad!
Oh and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" :frog: , I plan to rewatch it soon too.

Nancy, I'm like you right now mostly using photos that my sister send me. It doesn't really matter as your pages are lovely!

Trudy, oh, new sales will comes I'm sure! Just most people are too poor right now, things will change with holidays season when they start to search for gifts.

Kay, I hope you was stay well hydrated! Hot weather is very dangerous! I swear I got something like overheat few days ago, and still feels very crappy! So your story makes my hair :scared: .
Enjoy the time with your daughter! Umm, can we see the sheets? I love things like this!

Jean, I miss you here! Wondering how your researching are going?
