Happy Friday the 13th!
hee hee!! I know this is always a good day for Nana, so I hope that she gets a good one today!

Cait is off to Warped Tour today. Its an all day band festival. Sh eis going with a bunch of her friends, including two brothers and their mom. The mom is the only reason she is allowed to go, b/c I know that she will look after her very carefully. Seems like half of the teenagers in town will be there, and wow, she is really excited! But how sad is it that I don't recognize one band's name? I am sooo old!

I am off to my MIL's. One of my clients had to cancel me permanently because she is getting divorced. I'll fill in her spot with my MIL and then when school starts I have a floater I am cleaning for this summer and I;'ll offer her the spot.

I cannot wait for tomorrow! No plans at all!!! Sunday we have a BBQ- but its just down the street so I can kick back and relax with some sangria and stumble home if need be :partywine:
But right now, I just want a day in my own home!!

Morning Chris, no walk for me this morning- just enjoyed the morning. Yesterday I did get my errands done, and some home blessing. I also worked at glass cutting wine bottles-so far have not mastered a clean cut- practicing on bottles I don't care about as I have some blue bottles and ice wine bottles that I do care about and want to cut into vases and tea light holders.

I have been so quiet inhere, and I feel bad- I miss you guys!

Phyllis, have you heard from Maureen? I saw on her FB page she was having a heart cath done but haven't had a chance to check in for an update. Hope she is doing well.

For those of you envious of my "lake" I have to be 100% honest with you- its a really small man-made, spring fed water area. hahahha! My friend's husband calls it The Pond. But it is somewhere to go, so its all good. yesterday was the week's Gladiator Games, between the Day Camp counselors and the Lifeguards. They do a sand/water obstacle course and everyone watches. We were all cheering on the guards. After the guards won this week's trophy, we all looked at each other- like seriously?? This is the highlight of our day?? :pound:


Laurie-- good luck with your boss and the decision. Would it work to be off every other Friday? Then you would both be happy ann the pay cut wouldn't be as harsh either. Just my nosy-two-cents!

Ugh nana, ants!! At least they are not stick bugs- one of the houses I clean has them really bad. But I bet having the two days to get the kitchen cleaned was a huge relief. Wish I could help you!
I love praying mantises. Scott had two as pets, from a breeder LOL, a few years ago. Glad you put him back outside! And seriously great photo!

P- poison ivy is all dried up, just hoping it wont scar. But wish me luck since I am off to MIL's evil gardens again today!! I'll be showering really good as soon as I come in from outside.

Chris, you have to wash less than 5 MINUTES after you touch poison ivy to have some chance of it not getting you. wear gloves and long sleeves!!

I still like the sound of your "lake." it seems like a fun place to be.

I saw a post by Maureen (maybe it was a Tweet.) that she was glad to be home with a healthy heart. i asked whether that meant that the test came out clean, but i haven't heard anything more. i'm assuming that it was all good.

Laurie, i'm trying to imagine cutting a bottle. unwieldy? i used to do stained glass, and that was bad enough, cutting a flat piece of glass lying on a flat surface. can't imagine having at a round, upright piece of glass!

well. hubby decided to take today off, so he's here today. i'm pretty sure he'll stay out from under my feet. he's doing his laps at the swim club this morning, then he's got to finish taking down a poplar tree at the top of our property. no grass cutting for him, because the grass isn't growing because of the heat and lack of rain. dunno what i'm going to be up to. probably laundry. some vacuuming. and gotta clean out the car. it's gotten embarrassing. i'm a disaster preparedness freak, and i have so much stuff in my car that i could live in there for a month. i think i'm going to become one of those eccentric old bats as i age. but at least i'll have food, water and heat in my car....

Good morning...it's been a quiet week for me I know. Well, quiet here but not so much in real life!

We saw a house for sale on Friday night...a foreclosure...looked at it Saturday...decided to make an offer. However, in these times didn't want to bridge and since it is a foreclosure, our offer couldn't be subject to the sell of our house. Put ours on the market Sunday night at 9:00 pm. Tuesday night at 11:00 pm we had a full price offer on ours but we only had 4 weeks to close. Countered to give us 5 1/2 weeks to close. Our offer went in on the house we want....now just waiting for the VA to approve the offer. Everything is subject to us getting our Home of Choice. Needless to say, that has been consuming my nights this week. :-)
Oh, and the re-org at work was announced on Monday and I got to keep a leader job. Changing teams so have lots of new stuff to learn but that will be fun! But crazy week!

Today, Brian and I are both off work. Sydney is playing soccer at Iowa Games...two games today and two tomorrow. Think that's all.

Have to read backwards to see what is going on with everyone!
 
eeee! Linda!!! the new house stuff is so exciting!!!! how i wish i could ditch my current house and get a different one. i hope the rest of what needs to happen for you to get the house goes through without a hitch,. good luck!
 
Morning ladies... Happy Friday the 13th!! A good day for Nana Linda and for me cause my Daughter flies home today!! Pick her up at the airport this evening. Woke up to the sound of thunder this morning. We never have thunder storms here, but it made me think I was back on the prairie again. I miss the great storms we had there!! Hope we don't get a forest fire out of all this noise!!

Chris - LOL on your man made Pond area!! :becky: hey it sounds like a fun place to be and at least its a place where you can go and relax and cool off right!! Say hi to your MIL today from us. Watch out for that darn Poison Ivy, hate to think of you going through all that pain again!! Hope Cait has fun at her band festival, I know how you feel about not knowing any of the band names!! I have no idea what any of the new bands are now :noidea:

Laurie - Nice that you are just enjoying your morning! You will have to post pics of your glass cutting skills when you get it mastered!

Phylis - I should get some tips from you about disaster preparedness, everyone around here does it, except me. They are all ready for the big quake if it hits, but I keep thinking if its that bad how am I ever going to get to my emergency kit?? It might be swallowed up by the earth opening up. I know, I know that I should have one anyway right? Hope your hubby doesn't get under your feet today. Enjoy your Friday!!

LindaS - Keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out for your House buying adventure!! So glad for you that you get to keep your leader job!! How exciting to be changing things up and learning new things! Enjoy your day off of work today!!

Well the rain has started, but I'm sure its just for a short time until the thunder clouds move on. So strange to hear thunder in this area, it just hardly ever happens. :wave: Do something that you love today everyone!!
