Happy birthday to my mom!!! She means the world to me as y'all know. I will give her a call and tell her that. We are having the family up on Sunday for a brunch. Can't wait to see everyone, esp my godson!! Unfortunately he *adores* Caitlyn and wants nothing to too with me anymore. LOL

What is it about the new year that makes me wants to get organized? I spent hours and hours in my office cleaning out some of the filing cabinets, dusting behind my computer. That meant that I knocked the internet connection cord loose and I needed Gary - with his much longer arms- to reach back and fix it. And to think, I only got through half of it.
I am keeping occupied with an audio book that is fascinating. The Girl with All the Gifts, IIRC. I am borrowing it from the library website and I onl get it for 14 days and it is a loooong book. I have to see if there is some way to renew them before they go poof.

Not much going on here other than that.

Hope that your day is much more exciting than mine will be :p

Here is the link to the book, if anyone is interested:

Laurie- thank you for mentioning that you notice when someone else has more steps than you. I am not competitive by nature, except when it comes to dieting. One of the biggest disadvantages being in an outpatient program for anorexia was that it was very easy for me to compare myself to the others there. In group we would talk about how we did during the time not in session, and if someone said that they only consumed 800 cals that would kick me so hard to do "better" than that.
I am thinking that maybe the friend option is not for me.

Nancy- while I wouldn't say that the weather "warned up" it sure as heck was warmer than the last couple of days. LOL
Going to get warm and rainy here before it gets cold again. They are talking of snow perhaps in the higher elevations next week? I hope not (sorry to all of you snow-fans )
You would think that dogs, with their amazing sense of smell, would have some trait to teach them what not to eat! But no!

Trudy- how are the laps coming along? You rock with that! I would never ever thing you are lazy- all of those hikes that your take with your Gary? Yard work? totally not lazy.

Rae- that is adorable that Taz was so happy to see your hubs! I don't think I could ever have a home w/o a dog to greet me at the door. They lift my spirits so much.
Good for you for not watching dessert shows, that would be so hard not to drool everywhere!
Do you have Staples near you? One year for Xmas, Scott got Cait a huge roll of bubble wrap as a gift. I hadn't heard about that for windows, I usually use the shrink wrap kits. Will check it out!
Hugs!!!

Morning O fam! Still working on moving stuff from old laptop to new laptop. I of course updated quicken, which meant I could no longer access my bank to download transactions. I tried the quicken help (why did I not learn from the last upgrade) 1.5 hours of my time I will never get back. Today I call the bank, who helped me last time!
Hubby, son and I are going to look at a potential property to purchase for our business. I found out last night that the rest of the furniture we ordered is in and they wanted to deliver on Monday. I said, nope, starting new job, you may deliver on Friday. What a great way to end my first week of work! Okay off to shower and get ready for all the joys that the day will bring!

good morning! Yesterday I got some errands done but still have more to do today. My DH is enjoying getting up and taking Luther on a good morning run. Good for both of them. Today is laundry so I can pack for my trip. Then tonight I have a NJ Devils home game against Boston Bruins. Then both my team and I go on the road. I got tickets for the Coyotes/Devils game and will go with my sister.

Chris tell your Mom happy birthday! Enjoy your brunch on Sunday! Chris for me the walk with Luther when the temp was above freezing is so much easier and then I don't mind quite so much going a long distance. And yes dogs need a trait to teach them not to eat the wrong things. Yesterday he dug up and brought in an old brick.

Laurie I hear you about upgrading. You have to do but it is such a pain. Good luck with your bank solving your problem.

Trudy bet it was good to get in an early swim. How fun that your grandson love to go to his school.

Rae keep meaning to say I love the avatar. You and Taz are so cute together!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I'm going to be organizing and cleaning today (as well as my at-home typing job). I'm like Chris....there is something about January that makes me want to organize and sort things out. I want to sort thru clothes and closets today. I've got some chicken thawed in the fridge so need to figure out what to do with it for dinner. A crockpot dish maybe...but need to figure out what to go in it. I don't want to go to the store so need to check my pantry. I know I have canned tomatoes and mushrooms. Any ideas...let me know ok?

Chris - too funny about knocking the cord out...I do that all the time and then can't figure out which cord I knocked out LOL. So then my hubs has to crawl under and behind the computers to see what I did. With 2 computers, 5 HD, laptop and printer...there are a lot of cords! I know your mom will love to hear those words from you. I wish I had told my mom more how much I loved her. I'm sure she knew but I never really said it much.

Laurie - I'll be moving computer stuff too soon. I know I need a new HD and keep putting it off. It's just so much work initially to get things reloaded and organized again. I bet you'll be glad when it's all done. Good luck on property hunting!

Nancy - Enjoy the game and your road trip!

Glad you all like my new avatar. I smile every time I look at it. I just adore my boy Taz!

Have a great day, ladies!

Chris - forgot to say I have that book on my ereader. Glad you're enjoying it. I want to read it soon.

Good morning ladies... foggy and dark here today, hoping that the sun comes out so I can get in a walk in sunshine! Swimming went well yesterday, its been a while since I put in 30 laps, so I am feeling it today!! I was google-ing about the fact that I have a lot of mucus build up in the back of my throat when I swim (ewwww I know hey!!) but apparently its quite a common thing with lap swimmers. Not much to do about it but work through it and after about 15 laps it seems to clear up and get better. Who knew??? :noidea: So I will continue to work through it and hopefully it improves as I go along.

Chris - Say happy birthday to your Mom from me too!! I think she must be an amazing Mom!! She does so much for you and your family!! Bless her heart!! Not much going on in my life these days either. Kind of the let down after Christmas blues that we all seem to go through LOL. I am reading a new book also, called The SeaFront TeaRoom and I am really enjoying it so far! No big plans for the weekend either, so it will be a great day to just lay around and read!

Sorry I had to leave and answer my Skype. So nice to talk to Heather and Mason today! He had all his little toys lined up for me on the table in front of the computer for me to see. He is such a little parrot and repeats everything that you say now. Watch what you say!! :tape:

Laurie - You will have to keep us updated on this new property and let us know how the new job is going along, exciting times for you all!

Nancy - Oh dear our teams play against each other, sorry but you know who I will be cheering for LOL. Packing for your trip already, man that came up fast! You must be so excited to get going! Hope Luther doesn't miss you too much, nice that your hubby is taking him for a run in the mornings!

Rae - Yes there is something about January that makes you want to get all organized and cleaned up. Guess it just seems like a good time to start fresh. Sorry you did not say I love you to your Mom as much as you wish you did!! I am sure she knew how much you loved her though! My parents were very into saying I love you to all of us and we never left the house or ended a phone call without say it. It took a while for my hubs to understand this as his parents do not say it enough, but now he never leaves my side without saying how much he loves me I am a very lucky woman! Have you ever tried the Brushetta stuffed chicken recipe? It is so good, but not sure if it is Weight Watcher approved or not, here is a link to the recipe. http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/bruschetta-n-cheese-stuffed-chicken-breasts-90708.aspx
Well ladies, I should really get dressed as it is almost 10:30 and I am still in my pjs. Dh"s night to cook tonight so I would imagine we will do Sub Sandwiches or something like that, I will try to make a good healthy choice for mine tonight. Hope you all have an amazing friday!!

Trudy - yum....it does sound good, although not too WW friendly. Stuffing is something I won't be eating often. I think I'm going to put brown chicken, put in crockpot, add in half a jar of alfredo sauce, a can of diced tomatoes, garlic, onion, mushrooms and peppers. I'll thicken it up at the end if needed. I'll serve it over whole wheat noodles (only a bit of noodles for me b/c of WW points). I'll let you know how it turns out.

Rae i wonder if you could use something other than stuffing in that Bruschetta recipe, something like rice or a similar food?? Your dinner tonight sounds scrumptious too!! :hungry:

Hi everyone! I just realized I hadn't popped in for a day or two! :faint: Been super busy - got heat at the office now (yay!), and have interviewed a couple of candidates for my HR Associate opening ... I like them both, but for very different reasons! Got another interview lined up for Monday for a candidate that a little outside the box, but she has an interesting resume and our recruiter thinks she's worth an in-person chat. We'll see.

I've been looking at my day planner today and thinking Oh Crap!! ROFL! Even coworkers look at it and gasp a little. ;) Of course, it has work to-do's, as well as CT assignments (like working on a few of the O challenges :cheer2:), and even going to the gym. Figured if I wrote that last one down, I'd actually do it.

Well, better get off the chat for a bit - we're packing up all the office Christmas decorations this afternoon; it will be a team effort ... and I've got next week's payroll to finish prep. for.

Yup. Scrapping tonight and all weekend (well, other than a gym visit or two) ... I think that would be perfect.

Oops - and now my post appeared twice! Well, maybe I'm just making up for not being here for a couple of days ;)

I wonder how quinoa would be in that recipe, Trudy. That's something I could try out.

Well, you ladies inspired me...so I went ahead and ordered a burgundy fitbit charger HR. It'll be here in a couple of weeks. Guess I know where the money from my next photog session is going (to pay the credit off) :)

Hooray you have joined the club! :cheer2: now off to get my 10,000 steps in, its not as easy as it sounds!! Yes Quinoa might be a great choice for that recipe!
