The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Gah!!! I am *wrecked!!*
I have been cooped up way too long, my dogs- the same thing. They are barking all day at nothing. Everyone is on edge and jumpy. last night I had the strangest dreams, kept waking up with my heart pounding, and have been fully awake since 4 am. Get me through this day in one piece, please! :praying2:

Annnnd- how is your day going? :p

I need to bundle up and go for a walk or something soon. I left my house -- to the driveway-- three times yesterday, once for the mail and twice to unwrap Whiskly from the tree. The snow knocked over the 12" plastic "fence" that is supposed to keep her from going between the tree and the well pump because when she does, she gets her lead tangled up. In the summer, I don't mind going out to unwrap her. When the lawn is a mixture of snow and frozen dog-poop and the temps are single digits, --- not so happy to do that. The silliest part of it is when I get her untangled, she gets super hyper and gets the zoomies around the yard. I have to be super careful to stay out of her way or *I* get tangled in the lead. The last place I want to be is face-first in frozen-poop snow.

I got a few more steps of the faery house built. One wall is connected to one of the floors and a tree is almost ready to be glued in. My love-hate relationship with Amazon continues. I am pretty sure that the Dollar General in town carries Tacky Glue. But when I looked at Amazon and was able to get it shipped for <$3, I caved-- *click* and I'll have it today.

Gary and I are going to my parents today. Gary is going to replace the broken keypad for their alarm system and set up their new printer. My mom and I can drink coffee and catch up.

If I have some time when we get home, I will be working on the next two HS Pod Field Trips for Feb. If *fingers crossed* there is still snow on the ground for the first one (Feb 7), we can do some of the activities that we couldn't do last time. We will look for animal tracks and have some STEM snowmen-making challenges. The second trip will be Maple Sugaring/Winter Tree ID.

All of this will be possible due to the generosity of the wonderful coffee bean.
:coffeedrinker:

Sending everyone a hot mug of coffee (or tea, although why would you drink tea in the morning? LOL)

HAGD!

@vickyday As soon as I have a few pieces of the faery house together, I'll take some photos to share :)
My back is a constant dull ache, which while annoying, is better than when it spasms. Once I am in that zone, it's all over for a few days.
That's fantastic that moving around with the sweeper helped, not hurt. As long as you go slow and listen to your body, moving should be a good thing!
Good thoughts to Mark's son. Besides medication, what can they do to stop the AFib? My FIL had to have surgery for his but it was a chronic arrhythmia, like 6+ months of it. Hoping that it gets under control quickly.

@taxed4ever Oh no- to you and your SIL too! How is she doing, any idea how long she will need to be in the hospital? With all of these cases of pneumonia, I am wondering if I should get that vaccine.

I am pretty sure Kay has said that she got/gets it... what if any reaction did you get from it @BrightEyes ?
I think if it is recommended for my age, I should get it sooner rather than later. My insurance has virtual visits, maybe I should check in and see what my options are.

I am sending you and your family all of my love, Trudy. You have been through *a lot* these past few months :hug3:
Yes I think the cute little bunny has been there all the time, love how he shakes his little butt!! The hike was great and so good to be with everyone, although there were a lot of loose rocks and it was on a very narrow trail, probably originally a deer trail, some steep sections where you really had to watch your footing! I bet you would have loved it! My tub is not an outdoor hot tub, but an indoor jaccuzi tub, so joining me in that might be a bit awkward :giggle4:. It would be wonderful if you could join me for a glass of wine though!! :drinkbuddies:is that me or you falling down??? LOL.
The hike sounds wonderful!
I think it would be both of us falling down after a few glasses of your good stuff :giggle4:

@AK_Tracy Every day I am shocked that you are ~20* warmer than NJ.
Hope you had a nice day relaxing. Did you spend any time reading? I started The Lost Bookshop a few days ago. It's cute!

I got to power walk and get my heart rate up which I need during the winter b/c I'm not moving fast enough for that benefit when I am out walking with Remi, that is more of a stroll. They also want me to go to exercise class and yoga so I might try that out next week. Honestly, I have so many things to do, it is hard to fit it all in. Right now I'm not birding much b/c of the cold weather but once the spring comes I am going to have to juggle my routine to fit that in too. Life is fun but it sure is busy.
You sure are busy is an understatement. It is wonderful to hear about all of the things you are doing even if it makes me feel a little guilty that I am doing zilch!
I was LOL-ing that Remi barked at Garrett, forgetting that the was in the house. My girls do that all of the time.

Just happen to remember a photo of the great-granddaughters riding on a camel... so had to find it. Yep, it was in one of their early years folder. Then spent time on creating the LO. What a hoot it turned out to be....
I can't wait to see that! Sound like it was a fun trip through memory lane/old photo folders :)

@vickyday love the new avatar pic! Whew, that's really good to hear about Mark's son.

I'll be here for a few more days, but home by next week. Not looking forward to flying. We actually got to 20º today but it snowed off and on the entire day. Not causing too much trouble here, though. The ground is so cold my sister was blowing it off the driveway with a leaf blower. I think Indiana is getting a bit warmer next week, but I'm sorry to hear NJ isn't warming up. I seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time -- either that or it's ME....
I'm glad your friend is in a better place and has some treatment plans. I always find that better then hanging around waiting... And, thinking too much. :heartpumppink:
We might break freezing on Sunday, at least in my town. You are probably a few degrees warmer than here so maybe it won't be too bad? *hopeful face*
My BFF is a lot like me, we overthink *everything* so the waiting part is super difficult. Once she has a plan, she is much happier. Thanks!

Whoot Whoot it's going to be a good day. Only 37 this morning but warming up here in FL to 52 with sun so it will be much better and will be warmer starting Sunday. I have been using the irrigation system every morning to water warm up my orange tree, tomatoes and the orchid that are attached to the tree...so far so good. Hopefully weather will warm enough on its own.

Good news from my Dr. I will not need surgery at this time. He gave me a 2 part injection-not fun- pain killer and cortisone. Need to start some PT too. Have not felt much different yet. It is the same thing DD chiropractor boss said so I guess that is 2 opinions. I made need another injection but it would be way better than rotator cuff surgery.

Last night was members meeting at the club..hubby is on the board of directors again. Well it's good to keep him busy but I do have a few house projects, too.

Today is lunch for my long time friend so there will be 12 of us going out. I got her a very pretty Brighton necklace when I was shopping with my girls (they are back home in single digit weather)

Well @MariJ the winter hater who has winter following her needs to go to Alaska to bring that cold and snow to @AK_Tracy the winter lover.
I feel sorry for all of you who are suffering with the super cold weather I complain about our Florida cold but remember those bitter cold Northern days/nights.

My PCP wants me to get pneumonia shot...one shot he said - "all older people should get it"---well thanks for that!!! Did @BrightEyes have a reaction? looking forward to seeing the camel ride page

@vickyday sorry about your sore back...do some research on a TENS machine, electrical nerve stimulation massager, is a device that uses electrical impulses to relieve pain. It's a small, battery-powered device that's attached to the skin with sticky pads called electrodes. My daughter has one so I tried it when she was here...helped my sciatica and the sore muscle in my leg. She works in chiropractor office and they use one on certain patients, they are less than 40$ at Amazon. I have been using it every day and feel less pain. If we were closer I'd let you try mine.

@faerywings I hope you make a page with your house. It sounds like so much fun. Years ago I made a lighthouse dollhouse took 3 month of weekends, when we moved here the movers lost the light top so had to make it again. now that you have your glue I hope you enjoy the rest of the project.

I slept like a baby last night because I didn't sleep well Wednesday night! Par for the course!

So this is an outside dog?

Good for you! Be sure and share a picture when you have it completed! Are you taking "process" photos to scrap?
Gary and I are going to my parents today
Have a wonderful visit with your parents!

I should've read your personals before making my comment about photos, LOL!

The lower back muscles are still stiff, especially in the morning. Every once in a while I feel twinges that seem to be small spasms. So far they are not bad! It almost feels like the pain is moving into the hips. I figure my body is compensating for the lower back muscles.
Good thoughts to Mark's son. Besides medication, what can they do to stop the AFib?
Thank you! Not sure what they can do about AFIB. Don't know if Mark has contacted his son this morning yet.
love the new avatar pic!
Thank you!

What part of FL are you in. My sister is in Palm Bay. The way she talks she is a bit warmer than you, so you must be further north.
I will not need surgery at this time

Have a wonderful time!

When my sister comes to visit she always has a sweater! She freezes if the temps are below 70, LOL!
"all older people should get it"---well thanks for that!!!
The nerve of that "kid!" ;)
do some research on a TENS machine
Thanks! I will do that!

Good Morning,
Grocery order will be ready to pick up soon. But I need to go in and get a few more items for our church concert tonight. Sounds like we are going to have a full house and I want to pick up a few more refreshment items to have on the back burner just in case we do have more people than we planned for!

While I'm out, DH wants me to get some egg McMuffins, LOL! At some point today I need to go after my favorite pimento cheese for the sandwiches I am making for the refreshments tonight. Conrad Hinkle is the best pimento cheese I have ever tasted! Everyone swears by it in this area of NC. It sold me! I never was a big fan of pimento cheese until I ate theirs!

Might work on the taxes at some point today.....maybe! ;)

Not much planned for today. The roasted chicken and veggies I fixed for supper last night were really good for a change! Not sure what I'm going to do about tonight since we will be leaving fairly early to get Ilene and Ruth for the concert that starts at 6:30. The group is Second Chance Bluegrass and they will be doing all gospel tonight.

Have a great day!

Morning all. Still icy cold this morning... Look at the forecast and temps should be much warmer on Monday so will wait till then to go to the base and pickup Rx and do the commissary run. 54*F in the afternoon sounds like heaven compared to 40* today.

To answer the question about side-effects from the new pneumonia shot... I had a slightly sore arm was all I noticed. For those of us who are seniors - I think it is better to get the vaccination than chance getting pneumonia!! Both my doctors stressed how important it was.

@taxed4ever So sorry to hear about your Brother's wife in the hospital and how stressed he must be. Glad you were able to go on the hike. Too bad the taps on the hot tub/spa are leaking.. hope they get repaired soon.

@BoatLady - Good news about no surgery for the shoulder! Yes, I had that double shot into the shoulder three times but it helped the pain and the PT exercises helped with movement. The ortho doc said he wouldn't do surgery due to my age so the shots and PT were the only alternative. They have helped but I still have some restricted movement and can't lift much weight with it. But I am glad to not have rotator cuff surgery like I had with my right shoulder several years ago. Had the 1st 2 shots space about 2 months apart and the 3rd one about 6 months later. I still do my PT exercises if the shoulder feels tight or aches.

@faerywings I am looking forward to seeing the Fairy House photos. Sorry you are having such a rough day and such cold and snow.

Need more coffee :coffeedrinker: then :showering2: and get dressed. HAGD

Good Friday Morning All!

This cracked me up!!! We put the dogs on leads when they go out too and oh they always get tangled up when there isn't snow to cover the edges of the stairs. Or they weave in around the green house posts that need new plastic. Silly dogs. Totally feel this pain and fear :giggle4:
@AK_Tracy Every day I am shocked that you are ~20* warmer than NJ.
Hope you had a nice day relaxing. Did you spend any time reading?
Yep, still too warm. Its 41 and the wind blew all day yesterday. They HAHA sanded our road yesterday for the first time but it all blew off or sunk into the standing water. So gross.
Good news from my Dr. I will not need surgery at this time. He gave me a 2 part injection-not fun- pain killer and cortisone. Need to start some PT too. Have not felt much different yet. Yeah, bring it back!!! And the bonus is I get to see you!!

I would eat a late lunch or snack before you leave. Sounds like a fun night thought.

Something in my world is misaligned. My right hand goes numb while trying to type or write in the mornings. Its been. like this all week. Im find if my hand/arm is beside me but shift over a smidge to type and its like something it pinched but I cant figure out what. Its annoying and makes it so hard to chat.

Have a wonderful day!

Morning everyone, it’s a lazy morning with my DH today. He is on his flex day off and we are just sitting in the living room and having our coffee. I am on my iPad and keeping warm by the fire. It is supposed to be a sunny day here and the temps are going to be a bit warmer, so hopefully we can get out on a walk this afternoon. The only project I have for my Gary is to hang the new makeup mirror I ordered from Amazon, it’s been sitting on the dining room table for almost a week now. My old one is worn out and is difficult to maneuver, the new one has different lights and a very good magnifying mirror, so now I can see my wrinkles even better :giggle4: . Not much else happening around here, but tomorrow we are headed to Costco to drain our bank account. I had a lovely face time chat with my SIL Veronica, she is handling things very well, but we did have a little cry together as it has now been one month since my brother drown and I know that every single milestone is going to be so heartbreaking for her!! She is getting a bit anxious to come home, but also feeling a bit worried about it too, it will be difficult to walk back into their home with out her husband! :sad2:. I managed to finally get a layout completed for the Copy Cat Challenge and I need to get it posted out there in digi land. I have yet to upload a page I did for Vicki Robinson, but hope to do that at some point today also.

Gary and I are going to my parents today. Gary is going to replace the broken keypad for their alarm system and set up their new printer. My mom and I can drink coffee and catch up.
I hope you have a lovely visit with your parents today!! Nice that your Gary is feeling well enough to do these jobs for them! We need to pop in and see how the In-Law's are doing today, its been a few days since we have had a good visit. Now that everyone is over their colds it's a good time to go and see if they need anything from Costco.
So happy that you do not need surgery! Ouch on the injections though, but still better than surgery!! Glad to hear that the temps are warming up for you!

Sounds like we are going to have a full house and I want to pick up a few more refreshment items to have on the back burner just in case we do have more people than we planned for!
Good plan to have a few things ready for your full house at the concert tonight! I hope that your back doesn't act up while you are there and that your Mark's son is doing well. Have fun tonight!!
Morning all. Still icy cold this morning... Look at the forecast and temps should be much warmer on Monday so will wait till then to go to the base and pickup Rx and do the commissary run. 54*F in the afternoon sounds like heaven compared to 40* today.

Brrrr its still chilly for you Kay!! Good idea to wait until the temps warm up a bit to get your Rx! Yes I think you are right its a good thing to get the pneumonia shot a sore arm is better than being sick with pneumonia!!
Something in my world is misaligned. My right hand goes numb while trying to type or write in the mornings. Its been. like this all week. Im find if my hand/arm is beside me but shift over a smidge to type and its like something it pinched but I cant figure out what. Its annoying and makes it so hard to chat.
I had this happen to me awhile back and it seems that I had a pinched nerve in my neck, the dr gave me a prescription for a nerve blocker, but ugh it made me feel awful!! It eventually cleared up but I ended up getting myself a better pillow to sleep on which cost me a fortune, but it sure did the trick for my arms always falling asleep on me!! Hope you can find some relief from the annoying numb feeling!

Ok its time to get in the shower and get going with the day. I hope everyone has a wonderful :friday:

Everyone's AFib is probably different, but my DH is doing fine with it over 20 years since being diagnosed. They tried procedures to correct it, but they didn't change it. Since then, he has meds to counter the elevated heart rate, and a blood thinner to avert blood clots or stroke. And he's 84 and going strong! Hope this relieves a little of your concern @vickyday.

Good morning ladies. It was nice to have the house to ourselves this morning. It was nice to have company but nice to have him gone too. We relaxed all morning, chatting away, shopping on Temu and enjoyed being lazy. But then I had to get ready, get Remi out for her walk and now we are heading out for the afternoon (mexican train and groceries). I need to make 2 meatloaves for tomorrow's potluck we are going to. It's a bigger group than our usual potluck (50 people). No scrapping or jewelry design today. I've been easing into a lower carb meal plan and down 2 lbs this wk, even though I haven't been 100% compliant. I'll never go back to keto, we eat out too much and it would be hard to follow but low carb is good b/c it allows me to fluctuate my carbs for the days I eat out. A few friends of mine are starting now too so it's always nice to do it together.

I need to be out of here in 5 min so...off I go. HAGD everyone.

@faerywings Can't wait to see the fairy house. I totally get the cooped up winter feeling. Even though I leave the house for work, the three minute drive to run back inside to the town hall, just doesn't cut the need for a good long walk and fresh air. The doctor told me it's time for the pneumonia vaccine. I hadn't gotten around to it, but reading this post, I'm thinking maybe I should.

@taxed4ever I hope you and your SIL in law are on the mend.
@BrightEyes it's been a while Kay. I hope you're doing well.
@bcgal00 If you want those two pounds back; I found them!

Nothing big on my agenda this weekend. Staying in. Staying warm. (though I think the south may have gotten colder than NH this week)

I see some bananas on the counter begging to be made into bread.

I hope this sort, out of nowhere message finds all of you smiling.

Florentino Out.

Debby you made me laugh outloud, how funny! I'd love to bring all this cold and snow that seems to be following me to Tracy and then we'd get to meet and visit, great idea! @AK_Tracy. And, Tracy, I can't believe it was 41º there, that's wild!
Debby I didn't realize you might need surgery, I'm very glad that you don't! @BoatLady
:heartpumppink:

Well, thanks! You're right we're a few degrees warmer than you but after here, it might feel warm in NJ, thank you!
And I get "overthinking" and join you in that club. Waiting reall IS the hardest, I find it difficult to deal with the unknown. :heartpumppink:

Something in my world is misaligned. My right hand goes numb while trying to type or write in the mornings. Its been. like this all week. Im find if my hand/arm is beside me but shift over a smidge to type and its like something it pinched but I cant figure out what. Its annoying and makes it so hard to chat.

Have a wonderful day!
I put the pimento cheese on baguette slices for the concert refreshments and sneaked eating a few of them for

So happy that you do not need surgery! Ouch on the injections though, but still better than surgery!! Glad to hear that the temps are warming up for you!

Good plan to have a few things ready for your full house at the concert tonight! I hope that your back doesn't act up while you are there and that your Mark's son is doing well. Have fun tonight!!

Brrrr its still chilly for you Kay!! Good idea to wait until the temps warm up a bit to get your Rx! Yes I think you are right its a good thing to get the pneumonia shot a sore arm is better than being sick with pneumonia!!

Yes and it's a good thing I did take extras because no one brought chips! I was totally surprised!

The way he talked, they either gave him a prescription or some meds to take with him when he left today.

Good evening! Sorry I'm so late today. I hope everyone had a great day. It's still a little cold here. It's in the low 30s at the moment. Work was slow but good news came to me today. I applied for a position that would be a promotion and got an interview next week. I'm pretty excited about it! In case I haven't mentioned it, I'm the basketball bookkeeper for Calvary Lutheran High School and tonight was homecoming. The girls won by 25 points. The boys lost a very hard fought game by 10. I came home after the games to find that my husband had started a fire and heated up the living room for me. It was a nice treat. That's about all I have for today. Have a great night and see everyone tomorrow!
