:lalala: <~ me today

I am thinking that I am gonna have to"unplug" a bit this afternoon, save my sanity or what is left. hehe!!!
On a really good note, at least I am not "in mourning" like I was the day after the election. Progress.
Not like I can do without a little less stress either. Yesterday was yet another one.

I get to the vet and they had an emergency so we ended up having to wait. That isn't a problem as I have been that Emergency before. But poor J. She was not happy, just shaking and trembling. By the time we got into the exam room, she was being her total stubborn butt self. We get her onto the table and she literally leans over the side so we had to stand against her so she wouldn't fall off. The leaning tower of brick-ness. She gained more weight and is now 65# of pure muscle. By the time we had the exam, the Dasaquin (not $90 a bottle) heartworm pills and abx and cortisone pills for the skin infection she has (she has been scratching a spot on her face that is now scabbing which is making her scratch more), I had to toss another $300 on the credit card.
Ack!

But that was nowhere near as stressful as what Gary said to me when I got home. He had noticed cracks all along the concrete blocks in the basement where you could see right through to the outside. He was worried that this was a structural deficiency and that we would need to get a structural engineer in. He called his dad who rushed right up to take a look. They were able to seal the cracks and he said it wasn't bad, but having water getting in the mortar then with all of the temperature changes it freezes, melts refreezes causing it to expand over and over. He thinks that sealing off the areas that the water is seeping in should do the trick.
But for several hours, Gary was in a panic that the house was going to cave in. It also was scary because the corner that had the cracks- the foundation is built around a boulder. Yup- there is a boulder holding up the corner of my house.

Interesting times...

Then I started dinner- which was turkey and vegetarian tacos. Tacos are a PITA as it but now I have to make a vegetarian filling too. I found a recipe to make your own filling because the frozen ones are super expensive. but dang it, another 2 hours on my feet. I would have someone help me but my kitchen is so small, it is hard to maneuver.

Thursday is the one night all four of us are together, so we are trying to make that a family night. We planned on a game night but I was so freaking exhausted that I said it couldn't involve and "jumping around or thinking." That is a huge limitation. hahaha!!! We agreed on Scattergories.
My brain wasn't working all that well, so when I wrote "Lego" for breakfast food starting with L, the fam looked at me when like I was crazy. So I repeated it- leggo my Eggo. Then I realized what I had done, they are all making fun of me.

I was going to paint the DR room today. My goal yesterday was to clean the wall the cat is *still* peeing on  and run out and get the paint. But the afternoon had gone a bit sideways on me. I went to bed still thinking that I was going to do that, but when I woke up, I decided that I would do better cleaning and organizing here a bit and then spend the afternoon in my blanket scrapping. Good choice, right?

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day and is able to ignore my  up there.

Love and hugs and peace to all!

Oh, I have a good one today:
Penguin Awareness Day was created to celebrate everybody’s favorite zoo animal! Find out more about penguins, explore what others have to say about penguins, why not visit your local zoo to share the penguin love! You don’t have to wait until Penguin Awareness Day because penguins can be loved all year long!

because who doesn't like penguins? :D

Jean- how did the Dr appt go? Hope you got a clean bill of health!
Thank you so much, you always make me feel so good about myself, esp my parenting. My kids are the *best.*

Nancy- bet you and Luther had some good walk yesterday since it wasn't too cold here either which was good since Gary and his dad were working outside on the house.
That class sounds good. I don't have Lightroom. I have tried shooting in RAW before, years ago, but I don't have any idea how to do it now.
Good for Charles to make that decision. Scott really seems to want to be more of an adult, I mean I know he is an adult, but he really wants to make those steps forward which is weird, he is still my baby, ya know? So that won't be too far from you, and a much better commute- don't blame him in NJ Transit buses at all.

Trudy- did you get to see the sun at all? It looked like it was trying to peek out a bit on this side of N America, but wasn't successful. At least it was dry.
How sweet to get out to lunch with your sister. :)
That is weird about the Feb 2 date for Aunt Marion-- is a b-day or anniversary of some sort maybe?
Cait makes her popcorn on the stove with coconut oil and salt. It is much better than the microwave stuff. How neat for your Gary to have the theater style one, Is it the kind that looks like a little popcorn cart? My Gary wanted on of those a few years ago.
Rae- good for you, tagging away :)
I added a category of Designers with Subcategories of some other shops like when I was at Mscraps, but now I only use Oscraps products 99% of the time, unless it is a Style or an Action.I have a lot of cleaning up to do for Tags and Authors but it is like my Fonts- overwhelming at times.
ha! I love the idea of a Computer woes support group.

I have to admit that I wish the diamonds had more meaning for me to give to him. My Grandma I. didn't care much for me, I was referred to as "The Girl." We weren't close, I loved her because she was my grandmother but I never had the same connection to her as I did with my other Grandma whom I adored. But I am happy to have something "in the family" to be passed down, and Scott will know that it came from me, should he decide to use it.

Sharon- heartworm test here too! But thankfully, my pup never tested positive. How successful is the treatment for this? Lots and lots of puppy kisses to your dog.

xoxo!

good morning - On a sad note my son's best friend's dad passed away this morning. He had cancer and nothing worked. I have just returned from dropping Luther at doggie day care as I have a full day. This am I get my hair cut and colored. Yea! Then have grocery shopping and then cooking. My son begged that I make the mac and cheese again so I will be doing that. Then pick up Luther and finally relax a bit as I have a game tonight Devils vs the Canadiens. As far as the inauguration goes I am just happy that no matter the hard feelings the transition is a peaceful.

Chris what an experience at the vet. Poor J. The waiting is the pits - I think all pet owners know this experience. I found out in my area there is a vet that will come to your home and she is quite reasonable. But I like my vet so I don't use her. It is fun to see the kids grow up but hard to let go. Hope you get lots of scrapping done.

Jean hope the drs appt. went well.

Trudy we are having lots of rain today. I want see days of sun! How fun to have lunch with your sister. What a nice surprise.

Rae thinks for the info on RAW shooting and Lightroom. It is just what I was thinking. I will have fun learning something new and doing some playing. I just hate it takes away from scrapping.

Sharon I know I have my Luther on heart worm medication monthly so good luck with getting rid of that in your dog.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning everyone and T.G.I.F.!! This week flew by! Not much on my plate today, so I think I will buckle down and get some CT stuff done today. Heather gets her new furnace installed today, I am so happy that will finally be done! Good thing that it has been relatively mild in their area! So far this morning the sky is blue, so perhaps a nice walk will be in order later on this morning.

Chris - Uggh on the expense of the Vet!! Not something that you needed for sure! I wish it was my Gary that had the theatre popcorn maker (yes the one looks like a cart) But it is my Son's and I make him make me popcorn whenever we are there LOL. Sadie likes when I come to visit because she knows she will get popcorn too :becky: she likes it even more than I do LOL. Not sure why Aunt Marion wants to wait for Feb 2, it is not her birthday or anniversary or any other special day that I know of anyway. :noidea: It is however my Gary's birthday, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. They are close but not that close LOL. I never thought of making popcorn with Coconut oil, I use Cocount Oil a lot for cooking though so it would be a good idea to try it! That is too bad that your grandma referred to you as "The Girl"!! Sounds mean to me!! Were you the only granddaughter? Sometimes my MIL says some pretty mean things and she never, ever asks me about Heather it makes me sad!! Heather is her only Granddaughter

Nancy - Oh that is so sad about your son's best friend's Dad!! Dam Cancer!! It touches each and everyone of us in some way or another! I bet Luther is having fun at Doggie Day Care today! He will be a tired puppy when he gets back home I bet! Enjoy your Hair appt. mine is coming up soon too! I love going to the hairdresser! I will be cheering on your Devil's tonight! I can't stand the Montreal Canadians!! :becky:

Rae - I wish I could tag all of my digi stuff, but oh my gosh I have so much and it seems so daunting!! Perhaps when I get my new EHD I will start doing that! Like I don't have enough other things to do LOL. It would save me a lot of time in the end I know. I waste so much time now just trying to find the things I want. I am so unorganized, no wonder it takes me hours to finish a page LOL. Hope the sun is shining where you are this morning!

Sharon - Sorry to hear about your rescue puppy!! Hope the treatment works for her! We will send lots of positive thoughts out your way for her!

Breakfast time and then a FaceTime with my DD and Mason. Hope that the furnace install goes smoothly for them and that she can get some kind of re-bate on the furnace. From what I was reading she will have to see what the manufacturer offers for rebates, but I am still looking!! Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!

Good morning, ladies. Got a busy day of odds and ends. I slept in, read some of my book and then got a few CT things done. My daughter and SIL are coming over for a visit soon. I picked up Matcha tea for us both and they will come to get their tin and I'll show her the bamboo whisk I got to whip mine up. I'm going to have a cup of that every afternoon instead of coffee. I want to try to stay away from coffee after lunch time. I need to get some housework and laundry done and if the rain holds off, I'll get Taz to the dog park later.

Chris - vet bills never seem to end, do they? In ACDSEE I don't really understand what the categories are good for. I can drag folders into categories but I can't seem to be able to click on them to select those folders to look at KWIM? So I gave up on them and am now just keywording some product and previews. I need to find out how to save my tagging in case of a computer change or crash, to reinstall. That's what scares me. If I tag lots of stuff and then eventually lose it all as I hear that does happen to some people as it gets corrupted or something. Yikes. That would be awful.

Trudy - glad your daughter got their new furnace. We upgraded a few years ago and it was a big expense but it is more energy efficient and our monthly bill is lower so it is kind of paying for itself in the long run.

Nancy - speaking of dogcare, I should get Taz in next week. He hasn't been for awhile. He needs it.

Sharon - hope all is ok with your pup. I must have missed your other post. Heart problems?

Time to get off the computer and get a few things done before the kids get here. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the good wishes on Dr. visit. It was a routine visit and all was as expected. It was only the 2nd time I've seen this Dr., both times at 11:00 am. And she runs about an hour late by then!! But I like her and think I'll stay with her. At least our political views are in sync. As to that, DH and I both are wearing all black today for which I will not apologize.

Chris, yuck on the vet bill! Sure hope J gets better. I want to say it wasn't nice of them to make fun of your "lego" but I know even you thought it was funny eventually. And that was the object - having fun together. But if Cait wants the veggie version, can't she do the extra two hours on her feet?

Nancy, sorry about your son's friend losing his father to cancer. If any are fans of NCIS LA, you'll be sorry to hear Miguel Ferrer (Granger) has died at age 61 from throat cancer. His cousin, George Clooney, had really nice comments.

Trudy, hope the blue sky continued and you got a lot accomplished. Boo on MIL about Heather. My sister isn't the biggest fan of her granddaughter, but she's her only grandchild, so ignoring isn't an option.

Rae, sounds like a fun time with the tea. Hope the weather is good for a Taz outing. How's the computer doing?

The weekend is almost here, hope it's a good one.
