Daily Ooo's: Friday, January 19: Some Good News (Finally) Edition

I have a bit of good news to report about Kibs. Whew!!! Her ultrasound showed no masses or blockages in her liver/gallbladder. They can't rule out lymphoma but it would be unusual to have it affect only the liver. My vet feels pretty sure that it is Fatty Liver Disease (Felis-- we called it!!) based on the "quick report" from the vet that did the u/s. The full report will come in today but he started treatment for the FDD.

He said that the biggest thing we need to do is to get her to eat. She was given a B12 injection to boost her blood cells, different abx, and an appetite stimulant, plus some prescription canned food that is high calorie/nutrition. She isn't out of the woods but if we can get her back eating she should be ok. Livers can regenerate so that is good news too. When we got home with her, Cait and I gave her a spoonful of the new food and she ate it voluntarily. Only a tiny bit but I didn't have to force feed her. Then she got a few sips of water on her own. I thought Cait and I were going to cry right then and there with relief.

Keep those good thoughts and big appetite vibes coming, if you can. I appreciate it very much!

Today, I have a few things to do in the morning and then I am cleaning for my neighbor. One of his cats came back yesterday but one is still outside. He is really worried. He lives by himself and is mostly housebound so his cats are his babies too.

What a week.:faint:

Nancy- How was the game last night? Hope that the Caps were rusty and you got a good win. That is sad to hear about your friend's DD. As someone who lives in pain every darn day, I know how it is daunting to be young(ish in my case LOL) and have that much. I hope that she is able to figure out what is causing it and maybe get some relief.
That is great that your DH was able to fix the furnace leak. Not a good time for the heat to be wonky. I thought it was supposed to warm up this weekend, but it looks like we are staying right around freezing. Bah humbug!!!

Trudy- sorry to hear about the grey day. We have sun but still so frigid. I tried knitting but realized that if you mess up, it is much harder to fix. With crocheting, there are easier ways to cover it up. heheh!!
I vacuumed and mopped all of the floors yesterday, cleaned the kitchen, and then made 2 loaves of banana bread. I wanted to keep working to calm my mind but I hurt too much. Then I tried scrapping but that was a mess... I was too distracted waiting for the phone to ring. But maybe I can do something positive today :)
Oh wow, I would love to see an elk! We haven't seen any bear at all. Out new governor is canceling the bear hunt next year so maybe we will see some new ones again.

Nancy- I know this is petty and childish but did you see the article about Christie getting bumped from the VIP line at the airport? :pound: He deserves it!!
Chris Christie was the NJ Governor for the last 8 years and very few people will be sad to see him go. Like I said- mean and petty that he is now having to slum with the rest of us but I don't care. haha!!

Rae- sounds like your game night is going to be a lot of fun! And so smart to make two batches of your dessert with one to freeze. Hope that you and Taz were able to stay cozy, warm, and dry.
That dream is funny. If only it were that easy to clean a pantry in real life.

Cheryl- sorry to hear the news about YouTube. Hope you were able to work on some challenges.

Felis- I saw some of the headlines that Europe was having hurricane-strength winds and that roofs were blowing off in some places. That is terrifying. Hope that you and your furbabies were all good.
How sad to see the homeless dogs out there. :(
Thank you again for your advice about Heather. My fingers and toes are crossed that we can get her back on her feet quickly.
yay for no pain after yoga again. Good for you! My goal is to do nothing this weekend and then get back on track by Monday.

Hugs to everyone who stops in today!

Oh man, TGIF for you for sure!! We've had school cancelled all week here basically b/c of snow. It's like my kids got another winter vacation, and yes, working from home with 3 kids is HARD. Especially when they're "SOOO BORRRRED" ha. I'm glad they're at least back today for a full day!

good morning - My Devils defeated the Caps in OT 4-3. They allowed the Caps to tie the game late in the 3rd but won in OT in the first 30 secs. It was awesome as they have not defeated the Caps in a long time. You could tell the Caps were a bit rusty and Alex Ovechkin was not happy and took a penalty for slashing. He did not score at all. The allowed on 19 shots on goal the whole game. Most of the teams in the Metropolitan division won so it was good for us to win. It was our second win in a row. I got a lot done before the game, did the grocery shopping, cooked dinner. The dinner was just chicken but it had the best maple syrup sherry vinegar pan gravy and the mashed potatoes with maple syrup glazed carrots. I loved the sweet and salty. The boys liked it too! Today is another pork roasted dinner with broccoli. Luther is a doggie day care. So I have a free day to get stuff done like scrapping LOL.

Chris so happy that the news on your kitty is so good. Glad she ate and drank. I am send good appetite vibes. You clean when you get nervous me I read. I think I need the clean gene. Really happy for you and Cait. Also glad to hear your neighbor's cat came home.

And yes Christie is no longer a VIP and should be just like the rest of us if not lower! Our new governor had better stop off shore drilling!

Trudy I had a great talk with my sister. We don't face time LOL we just talk. No need for us to scare each other before we are ready for the morning. Sorry about the bad weather. So how are new appliances?

Rae your crockpot dinner sounds delish. With my two boys it is rare that I have any left overs. However when my DH cooks he makes enough for an army LOL well at least 10 people anyway. Love how your freeze your servings! Hope the weather improves. And yes for a suburb we have a lot of wildlife, deer, turkeys, foxes and lately bear and coyotes. Crazy.

Cheryl that is sad about youtube - hope a solution is found.

Felis have fun a mother birthday celebrations. That does not sound good for those poor homeless dogs. How sad!

Jean hope you have a great day and weather is improving!

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies! So far the rain is holding off a bit today and the wind had died down. It is still a grey dark morning though. But its friday and the weekend is almost here. We have plans to attend the Kraft Hockeyville right here in Duncan this weekend, it should be a lot of fun! Our good friend who is the Mayor of Lake Cowichan is picking Don McLean up from the airport and being his chauffeur for the event. He is a huge hockey fan so I bet he is very excited! We hope to be able to pick up a few things for the grandkids and I wish that Nancy were here so she could join in on the fun! I will try to get some pics for sure. My day today will be much like yesterday, not much going on and hopefully I will get some scrapping done. I have been working on a page for one of the next month challenges and man I am having a hard time getting it done.

Chris - What wonderful news, that your little kitty will hopefully be on her way to recovery soon! I would have been crying right along side of you while watching her finally eating and drinking on her own! Our pets really are a big part of our family aren't they! That is why it hurts us so much when they are sick! to you and Cait! I know you must be relieved! I will continue to send you lots of good vibes for sure! You were very productive yesterday getting all that cleaning done and baking too! Hope that you are able to get the cleaning done at your neighbours without much pain and that his cat is found and safely back home before the end of the day!

Felis - OMG that must be so scary to deal with those kind of winds when you never usually get that where you live! We often have big wind storms, but our buildings are made to withstand all kinds of weather and earthquakes too. Its the trees falling on our houses that is the biggest worry for us.

Amanda - How nice to see you here in the Daily's! Ugh on having all three kids at home while you are trying to work! Especially when they are bored!! I bet you will be happy to have the peace and quiet of being at home alone again! Enjoy it!

Nancy - Wish you could join us for the Hockeyville fun this weekend, you would be in heaven I am sure! Yes a great night of hockey last night as our Bruins had another big win! Pretty great that your Devils did so well also! Enjoy your quiet day today, hope you get lots of scrapping time in!

Ok Heather is wanting to FaceTime with me so I will have to catch up with all of you in a bit. I better grab another cup of coffee first too. Have a great morning everyone!

Another sunny day here and now above freezing! Last night had a meeting in another part of town and after DH and I had dinner at a nice steak house. It is sort of on the side of a hill and when we came out the panorama in the dark was beautiful and the very distant buildings of downtown visible lit up. Not much today and then the long meeting tomorrow of the computer genealogy group.

Cheryl, hope you found a work around or other solution.

Felis, yikes! Hope the winds are no longer a problem and you had a great birthday for your mother.

Chris, hooray for Kibs! Sending more get healthy vibes for her. And you survived the anxious hours as well.

Amanda, hope you get plenty of relief in the one day they're back in school before the weekend. And that the snow isn't a problem for you.

Nancy, good for the Devils! Too bad they let the Caps get a point too, but beating them must have felt good.

Trudy, your weekend sounds like it will be delightful. I know you will enjoy it.

Rae, you've got to be busy with work and getting things ready.

Good afternoon, ladies. It's been a busy day so far. My daughter called and we chatted for quite awhile, then I had to get to work, now I need to rush out for groceries and errands before thinking about dinner. Tomorrow morning we'll be rushing out to get across the border before it gets too busy (it's insane how far back the US/Canada border can get) and then back in the afternoon to get ready to head out for dinner and game night with friends.

So if you don't hear from me til Sunday, you'll know why :)

Chris - good to hear the good news and glad to hear she ate a bit...yay.

Hope you all have a great day and upcoming weekend.

Hello girls,
I'm so pleased from my mom's birthday! Usually in my family birthdays are melancholic day for review what is not done and regrets who is not with us anymore. But she don't left us to feel this one at the same way, even if she is do it for yourself. They both, mom and aunt was on work at the afternoon, so we started the party at the morning with festive breakfast. My aunt is very disappointed from her second job, she is start to feel physical pain from the heavy load, but the worse is stress because her co-workers are really nasty and rude and the boss yelling all the time. So she complaining the whole morning and she was came for courage to quit this job. For which we supported it strong of course, but this will make big scandal with her son, ghh. Strange but this does not spoil the good mood of my mom. Se go to her work cheerful and I think she was grateful that she is on a place that like, even low paid (she is a hygienist in a cake workshop and when have need also help to make thiny pastry). We take her after work and even the tiny dog was dress up at official dress :) . I Really regret that we don't have tradition to take a photos, we all was so festive. So we go to the restaurant. And finished the night at home with the new TV series that watch. And it was just a perfect birthday! I hope that's mean she will have a good year too!

OK, I had neglected the chat in the last few days, but will fix that right now!

Chris, I'm relief to see that my prediction was wrong (for second time this week)! This is much better than the other possibilities! Now you have to be only patient and perseverance, It's not something that can be fix fast, but at least will be fixed! Many kisses and hugs to the baby!
This for the escaping cats is so bad for your neighbor, and if they are been only indoors worried too! Hope the second come back soon too! I'll be surprised if you found pawprints in the snow. At the bad weather looks for cat on high places, narrow places where isn't windy or in some neighbor. I have one friend who cames time to time to eat with mine. Probably he thinks that this is some kind of cat hippie commune, but he is so nice and gives me to hug him, which my siama never did, so I don't mind to come. :)
Oh, yes please send me this snow that is too much for you! At Friday we had Spring temperatures, it's like everyday we are in different season, but that was good for the people who lose their roofs because of the wind previous days, so I no complain! Oh, the story of how you got Kib is so sweet and familiar :D .
Did you resolved the problem with your cell phone plan? Here they make the same trick with hidden conditions in fine font or * mark for the explanatory reference on the end of the contract.

Nancy, hope you had fun in your free day! I was misunderstood this for the deer on your lawns, fun how deer and dear sounds similar. It's so precious how you can live with the wildlife! My house is just to the wild fields, but here if something be seen it will be shot, even if is protected by the law.

Trudy, oh, yes wind was so awful! Good that it was only for day! Our roofs really aren't prepared for this kind of weather. In my town not but in many other have houses without roofs and many trees fell on a roads and many torn cables, but comunications go back to normal almost everywhere. How exciting about the Kraft Hockeyville, have a fun! I will wait to see pics too :) , even I'm not excited from the sport like Nancy, I adore fan meetings of every kind, this reminds me that the world is small and everything is possible!

Jean, yes the wind is gone fast as he came and like I already mentioned up, we had Spring day after that, so crazy! Have a fun with the computer genealogy group! Oh, you describe such a beautiful sunset view! Funny but before a hour I just go out and took some sunrise pics for my weekly page, I'm even not checked yet do they are good.

Rae, so good to know that you'll be busy with nice things! Have a fun!

Hello Amanda, this really don't sounds like much fun. It's a difficult to keep attention of active, vigorous children. I bet they want to go out and make snowman! It's so hard to say "No", to someone that you love, we all are familiar with a similar situation, at least the human child can understand when you explain why this can't happen right now. Unlike the ours :pupkiss: ! I'm sure you will redress them at the weekend.

Ok, better go now! I'll back few hours later with a weekend post :) .
Have a lovely weekend you all! :washing:
