I have a bit of good news to report about Kibs. Whew!!! Her ultrasound showed no masses or blockages in her liver/gallbladder. They can't rule out lymphoma but it would be unusual to have it affect only the liver. My vet feels pretty sure that it is Fatty Liver Disease (Felis-- we called it!!) based on the "quick report" from the vet that did the u/s. The full report will come in today but he started treatment for the FDD.
He said that the biggest thing we need to do is to get her to eat. She was given a B12 injection to boost her blood cells, different abx, and an appetite stimulant, plus some prescription canned food that is high calorie/nutrition. She isn't out of the woods but if we can get her back eating she should be ok. Livers can regenerate so that is good news too. When we got home with her, Cait and I gave her a spoonful of the new food and she ate it voluntarily. Only a tiny bit but I didn't have to force feed her. Then she got a few sips of water on her own. I thought Cait and I were going to cry right then and there with relief.
Keep those good thoughts and big appetite vibes coming, if you can. I appreciate it very much!
Today, I have a few things to do in the morning and then I am cleaning for my neighbor. One of his cats came back yesterday but one is still outside. He is really worried. He lives by himself and is mostly housebound so his cats are his babies too.
What a week.:faint:

But it is Friday which means that I am close to surviving it!
