happy Friday!
How are you doing? I am feeling better, got to sleep through the night for the most part without coughing my head off. Always a good thing.
I am making up for it now, but at least I am not overtired and groggy.

I felt good enough to clean my bathroom. I wipe it down every couple of days with a Lysol wipe but this time it got a good scrubbing. We have really hard water so between that and the soap film, the shower needs a lot of elbow grease so now it is all sparkly again. It is the little things in life that keep me going :D

Timber the snake has neurological damage but not due to any lack of water. That makes me feel less guilty but I feel bad for the snake. There isn't much of anything that can be done, he got a couple of injections at the vet, and it is up to seeing if he can eat. If he can eat, he will have to learn to adjust with the "disability." If he can't eat... well, that is that. :( He said that he could be "tube fed," but god only knows what that would entail. I am not sure if that would be tube-fed, like as in a gastro tube or syringe-fed, like we had to do for Heather before she died. Either way, it seems like it was coincidental that happened while he was away but it stinks no matter when it did.

I hate Gary. Not really but I hate that he can look at puzzle pieces and figure out which ones fit where. It is that spatial-relation thing that I simply cannot do. He and Caitlyn put a lot of it together last night while I sat and stared at the pieces thinking that they all look identical!

Nothing happening today. Cait is helping out the woman that she babysits for. Her 16 yo DD is having 2 of her wisdom teeth removed. When she had the first two done, she couldn't stay upright the car, so Cait is going for moral and physical support. heh!!
Scott has a job interview, it is the second at the garden center that he worked at but has a new owner. *fingers crossed it works out well*
As for me, maybe I can do some scrapping. That would be fun.

Kay - your book must be engrossing if you can stay up and read that late. What books do you have up next? You have a lot on hand now. I am still working my way through Michelle Obama's book. It is cute when I "hear" her admonishing Barack in her own voice :D
Hope that you are not so blue today. We have a bit of snow here and are getting a bigger storm this weekend. Did you get a lot overnight?

Trudy!! So happy that you are feeling human again! I am getting there too but you had it so much earlier than me. I can't imagine that. Good thinking to not go on the hike. Between the roads and the temps, it could have been bad.
Thankfully, Scott isn't mad at us at all. He even said that they didn't need much care. I just feel bad about it.
Did you and your friends make it to have coffee together? I am supposed to be meeting BFF for lunch on Monday- have to check in with her to see if we are still on.

Nancy- good job getting the things to take care of you done.:high5: I would be so concerned about getting the house/family taken care of, I know that I would neglect myself.
Isn't it funny how we get happy when someone likes a tweet?
My fingers are crossed the storm passes both of us by, but if not, that you only have rain.

Rae- I don't know what to say. :( I am so sorry that you, Jen and B are going through this. I will do my best to not ask, but *please* know that I am thinking of her and you. I hope that it works out. Hugs coming your way~~~~

Felis- that is a good question, where is Jean. I hope that she pops in soon. I haven't been in the Gallery in days so I don't know if she has been posting there. Sounds like you and your mom and Tiny had a nice time together on the walk. I hope that her b-day weekend makes her happier.
I always have great advice that I personally ignore hahaha!!!
We had tried that trick with the empty litter box and cat locked in the bathroom. That was a nightmare and never worked for us. He would pee in the shower instead.
Cats!! Ugh! :D

Have a wonderful day!

Hi all, it's almost weekend. I love it when my DH is home on Saturday and Sunday.

Yesterday we had no power for a few hours. We were all doing our thing, and all of a sudden the computers went out, the dishwasher, and washingmachine etc. turned of. I was rather funny, my two girls were home, coming downstairs, asking what was going on.
When they realized it was an "outside the house" issue, which I couldn't fix, they were like: "what are we supposed to do now?"
The oldest said: "Okay, I will take a shower". I said: "No hun, won't work. The boiler hasn't got any power, so you will not get any warm water". She said: "O well, lets all go and watch some television". I said: "Nope, the televisiion also needs power".
They other said: "We can think about what to do with a cup of tea". I said: "how do you plan to boil the water for tea?"
Truly, neither girls could think of anything to do that didn't need electricity.
I said: "you could go outside with the dog. Or you could read a book, or do some homework".
They looked at me and said: "Mooooom, our you out of your mind!"

In the end they were lucky, power was back within half an hour. It did make me realize though, how much we depend on always having power.

Chris - I'm glad you are feeling better. Sorry about Timber though. I hope he wil recover.
Hope you will find the time to scrap. Have a great day!!

Morning, gals. It is raining... not snowing here. Snow is in the mountains and mostly north of us. Was suppose to go on a Senior Outing to a town north of us... but am sure it is cancelled as it is snowing just north of us.

Ah... coffee is finally ready...:cof3: Maybe that will get the brain to working.

Jeannette , I know what you mean about not being able to do much when the electricity is off. Thank heavens for books to read during those time. Yes, we are so reliant on electricity. At least I have a gas stove so can cook without electricity if I need to do so. Glad your outage didn't last too long.

Chris, what a shame about the snake. Hope it is able to eat. Glad you were able to sleep without too much coughing. Sure hope it clears up soon. I need to clean my bathroom shower too... the hard water builds up on the glass surround and is a pain to clean. Was going to do it this morning but the back is trying to seize up on me... not sure what caused that but will have to wait until it is easier.

I discovered a new author [to me]... Roni Loren. Checked the library on-line and they have a bunch of her books, so will be checking them out. Just finished Fast Track by Julie Garwood. The book that kept me up was True Valor by Dee Henderson. I have read it before but really like re-reading that series. I got so engrossed in it that I didn't realize how late it had gotten.

Yes, DD#1 and I had a great visit. Yesterday, I made it over to visit with my friend who broke her hip late in Oct then fell again and broke her arm a month later. She is still in recovery mode... will be another couple of months before she is able to drive. She is suppose to be my co-hostess for our Red Hat gathering in Feb. Told her to not worry about it as it will be a simple potluck here at my house.

Morning gals... Another great sleep last night! I woke up at 7:30 and couldn't believe it LOL. I never even heard DH get up for work or leave the house. I did stay up until 11pm and I think that the later bedtime is working out for me. Today I will go have coffee with my friend, it was not a good day for her to meet up with me yesterday. I am happy to be finally leaving the house for a bit today. Got my page done yesterday and also worked on the painting for my brother and SIL. I think it should be ready for them sometime this weekend. No other plans for today except for meeting my friend for a coffee, so perhaps I will wander downtown for a bit later and see what's new in the shops.

Chris - So happy to hear that you are feeling much better! Sorry that Timber is having health issues, how long do snakes live for?? I don't know much about snakes and reptiles. Had to laugh about you hating your Gary, I know that you don't LOL Wish you could have helped more with the puzzle, funny how we all see things differently! Heather has the same issues with her bathroom and horrible water. Her FIL bought them a water softener, but sadly Jonah has yet to have it installed :mmph: sometimes I think he procrastinates because he hates it when his Dad tries to help them out. MEN!! I told Heather that I guess I am going to have to send her Dad out there to get all the little jobs done that Jonah keeps forgetting to do. :becky:

Rae - We are all heartbroken for you and the news about B!! Seems that the universe is not being kind at all! So many ups and downs for your whole family!! That is all that I will say about it, I know what you are going through, really I do!!

Nancy - You will be all spiffy and beautiful for your upcoming surgery and recovery! Good for you for getting you looked after! How fun to have the tweet liked! Bet it made your day! Hope you and Luther are enjoying each others company today!

Felis - Nice to hear that you had a lovely walk with your family! Sorry that your Mom is still feeling badly about the loss of her job! Hopefully you can all cheer her up at her upcoming birthday party!

Jean - :hello: where are you?? Hope all is well!!

Jeannette - too funny that the girls were lost with no power! What would they have done if it were out for days?? Guess the homework would have gotten done LOL.

Kay - Hopefully the snow stays up on the mountain top where it belongs! Your new author sounds good! I hope you are able to read the rest of the works by her! I still can't wrap my head around how many books you read!! I have a hard time finding anything that sparks my interest. Your poor friend she has had a rough go of it lately! Nice of you to check up on her! Hope she is doing better soon!

Well I have some bills to pay and also need to get my grocery list started. Loving my google mini, I tell her what to put on the list and she sends it to my shopping list on my phone so I don't have to type it in or write it out. Its great because as I think of what I need during the week I just relay it to her. She also reminds me of things that I need to do, errands etc. So fun!! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Work is busy but not crazy today (I think) LOL. Thank goodness I get these days when the load lightens a bit. It sometimes seems like a lot of work for not a lot of pay...ugh. But, I am at home working which I enjoy and that makes it worth it. I just keep telling myself I'm getting closer and closer to retirement. I don't know that I will completely retire but maybe 1-3 days of work might be nice. But for now....I work full time.

D is slowly feeling a bit better. The pain meds help a lot. Tomorrow he goes to a chiropractor/massage therapist. Then on Monday he goes back to the doctor. Tue and Wed he will be away at a work conference downtown and stay overnight so I will have a quiet house to myself, just me and Taz. Maybe I'll get a chance to scrap a bit then. Hopefully, he will manage the conference as he just needs to sit with not a lot of walking and if he needs it, he can just go upstairs to his hotel room to rest.

Not much going on today, should be a quiet day. The rain has come but it's warmed up a bit so it's not too bad. Taz doesn't care if it rains when we go walking, but no jog for me today unless the skies are clear at lunchtime.

Tomorrow afternoon we'll head up to see B. I'm going to bring her some low carb snacks so will do some baking tonight. I can't believe I've used up all my frozen goodies (thought I had an endless supply, I had done so much baking before LOL).

Chris - sorry about Timber's disabiilty, I don't know anything about snakes (they creep me out) so I keep my distance. I feel the same way about D as you do about G. D can look at a puzzle and get 10 pieces in place before I can get 1. He is a genius with crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

Jeannette - I handle power outages better than my hubs does. I go for a walk, read my book, so some exercises...I keep busy. My hubs....he lays down for a nap until the power comes back on LOL.

Kay - your poor friend, each fall is bad enough but to have two bad falls. Hope she can soon put this behind her and stay healthy. I bet she was happy for your visit.

Trudy - isn't it nice to get a good sleep? (b/c you know we almost never do lol). Enjoy coffee with your friend and shopping later.

I'd better get to work now after refreshing my coffee. Hope you all have a great day!

I'm still here but haven't been inspired to scrap anything lately. I have been spending lots of time on Puzzle Up and also genealogy things. Tomorrow is our computer genealogy group meeting across town that runs from 9:30 to 2:00 and we are supposed to get a big snow storm and wind tomorrow, timing not certain. Not sure I should try to go. President doesn't want to cancel but he also lives right by the meeting site. He may quit after the morning speaker (and if I don't come he'll almost have to do that). DH would much rather I not go but will come too if I go. Sunday is also supposed to be bad and one of my nephews is planning to come over then but it's a fair drive and don't know if that will happen either.

Felis, what a nice day (ignoring the mud) for a walk with Mom and Tiny. Give her hugs from all of us for her birthday weekend and feeling better. And the macrame bracelets in another thread look delightful.

Chris, poor Scott to have a sick pet (even if a snake!) and terrible timing. Hope the interview goes well (how could it not for him at that place?). Sounds like Cait might be giving more support than just the moral variety for the dental trip. I guess I'm surprised you have trouble (comparatively) with the puzzle pieces. For some reason I would imagine artists would be good at spatial relations and pattern recognition, but doesn't seem to be the case for many. (And we ARE artists doing digital scrapbooking.)

Jeannette, amusing story of the kids when the power went out. Don't suppose they found it amusing though. Enjoy the weekend with DH home.

Kay, hope it good that you're getting rain leaving the snow to the north. You got in some good visits yesterday and have lots of books if you stay home now.

Trudy, glad you are feeling better and getting a good sleep. Love the Mont St. Michel LO you did. I'm sure the new painting will be wonderful too.

Rae, hope the workload isn't too bad today and you have a great weekend off. Good luck to D on that conference but you and Taz should have a good time.

Nancy, thinking of you and the upcoming surgery. You must be looking forward to the better knee after recovery. Everything seems to be ready and a good team to do it.
