And... I have another "Ugh Edition" today, but this is not relating to myself but to at ** that is squatting in the White House. I can't even wrap my head around the madness that has been going on this year and we are not even 2 weeks in! :gaah:

As for me, I am feeling a little better today. I didn't wake up dreading everything about life so yup- baby steps in the right direction. Scott was able to add a class to his schedule so that makes him a FT student. Whew! Kibs is not looking any worse and is letting us snuggle her. She isn't eating very much or at least when I see her, but I am supplementing her dry food with canned- a big treat- so maybe that will encourage her appetite to pick up.
OTOH- I paid some bills yesterday and whoa, this is not good at all. We found out that our cell phone plan was on a promotional basis and the rate increases will be $30 per phone, each month! I went through all of my old emails and found the chat transcript when the plan was offered and it was never stated that this was a 12-month promo so Gary is going to call and see if he can fight this. We are locked into a 2-year contract so we don't have much leverage, unfortunately. Then I went to pay my mortgage and that is saying that it went up by $80/month. The escrow account doesn't seem like it is off by that much so I don't know what is going on there. I guess Gary's cost of living increase in his Social Security payment isn't going to help all that much since it is only $20/month Sheesh!!!

The good news is that my pain levels are down quite a bit. I wonder if it has anything to do with the weather warming up? We are at 48* now and will be hitting mid-50*s today. It really does feel nice to not have that bone-chilling/lung hurting cold air. It is so strange that my thermostat can be set at the same temp inside and it feels different when it isn't as cold outside.

I have no idea what I am doing today. My mom asked if I wanted to go out to lunch today but she never called about that yesterday. If she calls this morning, I might go and do that. It might be nice to get out of the house to go somewhere other than the Vet. ha!!!

Enjoy your Friday!!!

Now that I focus on it a bit more, my pain levels are way down. Yay me!!!!! Not gone, but will they ever be? But the way they are now, I can deal with it.

Rae- Good for you getting your work done so you could relax after dinner. Bet Taz was happy to be able to snuggle too. The story of him with the food dishes was funny. J and W will run around with their food bowls in their mouths when they are done, like-- feed me more! hah!!
Clover is doing great, as Caitlyn said, "you would never know that the day before she was sliced open in two places." :D
ITA with what you said to Felis. This group rocks! That includes *all* of you who read along w/o posting-- your good vibes also help.

Trudy- I hope that the sun is shining for you today. We have rain here, but I will take that over snow any day.
So sweet to hear that Hunter is such a happy baby! He must know how much he is adored. Your hike sounds beautiful and amazing-- looking fwd to see your LO about it.
I doubt that you will ever not miss Mr. Abu. I know I will never not miss any of my fur-babies. Hope that you were able to rest and let your body heal a bit more yesterday.
Wait-- you said you were going to rest, now you are saying that you were going to clean your cupboards? You "rest" just like I do! :pound:

Jean- I love that your genealogy group always seems to go well. I wish my mom would take advantage of her town's senior center.
Printers (and all tech) sure are weird. If I could figure out what and why they do the things they do, I would be a bazillionaire.

Felis- I did yoga again yesterday! I did some poses for lower-back pain and it was a lot of breathing into the stretches so that helped my stress levels too.
Misty rain is called drizzle here, but mizzle works too :)
I hope that your friend will ask for help or at least is able to resolve his troubles easily. I understand "blur of a day" too.
I say it all of the time but I love our vet's office. They are all really good. I hope that the meds Heather is taking help. It has to be a good sign that she isn't getting worse. *fingers crossed*
I hope that your anxieties go away soon.

Love and hugs, my friends!

Good Morning ladies, a foggy and wet day here again today. Yesterday my girlfriend called and said that she was in town and would I meet her at Tim Hortons for a coffee. So I of course said yes, I haven't seen her for ages! It was great to catch up with her and learn that she is going to be a grandmother again, this will be grand baby No. 4 for her too. She was amazed at my weight loss and wanted to learn a bit more about it, she has struggled with her weight for all of her life, but she is a very active person and walks everyday and does marathons etc. She says it has finally caught with her and now her body is always hurting and there has been lots of nerve damage done in her back and her feet and knees. Poor woman! Anyway we had a nice time together and then she was off to the hospital for an X-ray on her knees. We hope to see each other again soon, her husband was my husbands best man and she was a bridesmaid in our wedding. We have known each other forever and we don't get together near enough. So today is a stay at home and do whatever I want to do day. Hoping to get another page done for the challenges today.

Chris - I am so glad to hear that your pain levels are way down! It most likely is because the weather is a bit warmer for you, especially if the cold was damp it really can be bone chilling! I would have started cleaning my cupboards except my girlfriend called and saved me from it LOL. Yes I relax the same way you do and find something else to do instead of just trying to rest and get better. Guess we are two peas in a pod :becky: Happy to hear that Scott picked up the classes that he needed, that is a big relief for all of you! Keeping my fingers crossed that your Gary can get the phone bill all straightened out too!

Jean - Glad that the printer problem was solved easily, perhaps you could share with me your solution, DD has not been able to use her printer for a long time, it just won't connect grrr!! I was looking at the E-Health website where we can see our test results from the lab and it says that my urine test was negative, so I am not sure what the heck is up with that?? Feeling much better but still not quite right. I might have to go back to the Dr and find out whats going on. :noidea: How interesting to learn about how the newspaper items can help out with your genealogy! I hope you get all the info you need for your talk on Saturday!

Felis - Sorry that your day was such a blur, hoping that tomorrow will be much better for you! I think that I like your word mizzle much better than drizzle, it perfectly describes the misty rain!! I think that a cup of cranberry tea is just what I need, thanks for the suggestion!

:hello: to Nancy and Rae, I hope that you are both having great mornings and that you are busy scrapping and having fun! (Although I know that Rae will be busy with her work) I am off to the shower and then some more coffee for me!

Good morning, ladies. I have lots of desk work today to keep me busy but not too crazy. I spent some time yesterday at lunch time to work on an art journal page for B. I used my Michaels coupon for a frame and today will pick up the print from the camera shop. I'm happy to have gotten this done for her so she can have an inspiration piece in her room and it will make her feel good to know I created it for her. Do you want to see it? I won't be posting it online as I feel it's private for B but I can show you ladies.

My laptop had a black error screen this morning. Its the old one I watch tv and videos on when I'm in my office. It said there was something wrong with one of the disks and did a check, relocated some files (whatever that means) and then it booted up. I took that as a sign that its on the decline (its about 6 yrs old) so am now backing up my books and videos onto an EHD so I'll have a copy. It wouldn't be the end of the world to lose that stuff as its nothing important but it'll be nice if the laptop hangs in there long enough to copy at least some of it over. I have about 300 gigs of books/videos on it. I'm deleting a bunch of stuff too so I'm doing my part, lets hope the laptop cooperates :)

Chris - glad to hear you are feeling better today, the weather is warmer and you got in a bit of yoga...yay for you! I did some stretched last night and it felt good. I've been watching a few youtube yoga vids and saving them into my favorites so I have a variety to switch back and forth with. I'm sticking to 10-20 min vids right now b/c that's all I have time for. Plus, I don't want to do too much before getting some proper instruction from the local studio on poses.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'll come back later and read the personals as everyone checks in.

Trudy - I see we cross-posted this morning. How nice to get a visit with your friend whom you don't see often. I don't have any longstanding friends here anymore and miss that special closeness and comfortability you can have with a really old friendship. My closest friend here I've known for 20 years and I value that friendship.

I'm getting back to work. Have a good day at home and maybe getting in some scrappy time.

Good evening, all. Today just seemed to be one thing after another of contacts. One was to cancel the meeting tomorrow at which I was to speak. The weather has turned really nasty and lots of things are closing for tonight and the morning. The meeting is at a library and they weren't sure if they would close. It was up to 62 yesterday, rained a bunch last night and this morning and by early afternoon was below freezing. Kept up light precipitation and the world turned white again (snow had vanished here) and icy. I was so not looking forward to the drive tomorrow morning (about 25 minutes) in icy, snowy conditions (overnight snow could be 4 - 8"). So I am happy to reschedule to July! We don't plan to leave the house tonight or tomorrow except to fill the bird feeder. DH had to clear ice off it today.

The trivia type puzzle is all general information. Our group is of people who all worked at the same place in various combinations plus now the grown son of one whom I still remember as a little kid. The convoluted questions are guaranteed to make us crazy. Some people do it on their own and we can't imagine it as we all bring different things to it and help each other.

Chris, I'll add my congratulations on your lower pain levels! At least you had some good things to report like Scott getting a full schedule. Hope your mom got you out to lunch. It is hard to believe that the thing in the WH can still reach new lows. Hope you find the yoga helps and the pain stays manageable.

Trudy, how delightful to get out with your friend. I have friends with common interests, but I haven't had a really close friend other than DH and BIL in ages. At one time it seemed they had all either moved or died (I did have some older friends.) Whoa, the urine test sure is puzzling, but if you're not feeling that much better, maybe there's a different problem. If so, hope you get back in to the Dr.

Rae, oh my, that page is stunning. Sure hope B will enjoy it. Is the visit this weekend? Wishing you all the best for that and for B. Also hope you get a good chance for photos. Also good luck with that laptop. Sounds like you're doing the right things with it.

Felis, hope your Friday was a little less "Ugh" and the weekend will be brighter. Sorry about your friend, but sometimes we can't force people to ask for or want help. All we can do is just be there. Hope you're getting into the yoga a little.

Nancy, hope all is well and you're not missing your hockey team too much.

Happy weekend wishes to all!

Hi there,
Yep, I'm so up and down jump person in my emotions . Friday was so nice! I started with buying new scrap kit on deal, which gives me good mood. My aunt come to visit us and have good time together. Afternoon was busy, so I finished with early go to the bed, so to have a early wake up at Saturday and really successful morning (I finally scraped).

Jean, sorry that your speech is reschedule, but you described dangerous weather, so better to not drive, indeed. Have a good time inside! Oh, I was so strict with yoga this week, so I considering that maybe I deserve a little break for the weekend ;) .

Rae, this page is amazing, so shine and magical, really powerful! What a great support will give her every time when see it!
Oh, bad about your laptop, I hate to lose information, even if it's nothing special it is takes from your time to collect it and now to rewrite.

Trudy, wonderful that you could to see your close friend! Hope the things with her knees are not so bad! Oh, please, do not underestimate your health even if you feels better for now!

Chris, I'm so happy to hear that your pain level is tolerably again! You are hero, my dear! Hope that your mom got you for lunch meeting and managed to distract you at least a little bit. Great that Scott found solution for his class and hope it is the wished one not just compromise! I thought that if your men want chicken dinner, you can take one small part and just to boiled it for H. Maybe will tempt it. Low appetite is expected, give her small portion instead of full plate, so to can follow did she really eat.

Nancy, your silence start to worry me! Hope you are busy with good things!

Have a lovely weekend you all!
