OK as of this very minute, Kat has not posted a thread yet. So here goes...

Kat, It takes me so darn long to type out one of these posts, three weeks could go by and I will still working on the same one. hahahah!!

Did everyone have a nice NYE? I watched TV wrapped in several blankets freezing my butt off with my IV. I don't know if any of you have had experience with a 1 liter IV, not in a hospital where they cover you in those deliciously warm blankets but having that much room temp fluid dripped into you is horrible- it makes me really cold in the summer and it is waaaaay worse in the winter. I was in bed at 8.30, and asleep as soon as I heard that Cait made it ok to the party she was heading too. First solo trip driving, always a fun one for the parents, eh? She picked Brendan up from work and then to her friend's house and then made it back home at 12.30. Scott is at Leah's house and he will be home either today or tomorrow.

Since it is Jan 1, that means lots to do at the O! Challenges are getting ready to be posted, which means I have to do that too. I have some stuff to do around here to get ready for tomorrow--Christmas Part 2. Can't wait to see actually get to see and visit with my BFF and the fam.

I also need to make my list of stuff I have been ignoring for the last month. Ray needs to get in to the vet. She's old and gets old-dog lumps and bumps, but there is one on her head that is getting bigger and doesn't look so good.
Kat- did Haddie have her biopsy yet? I wish I could remember things better-- she has something similar, IIRC??
I also need to get Cait back in to the dietitian. She told me that she has been wanting to start dieting again- she isn't restricting but knows how easy it is to get into that mode. I am so glad that she can tell me that, while it breaks my heart. But it is the only way we can get her staying on track. I know allll too well how seductive scales and "meal plans" can be.

Guess that is about it from Not Sunny Again New Jersey.

Have a great day, and a wonderful start to the new year!!!

Trudy- hope that you slept better last night and that your heat pump doesn't keep you awake again. Did you and your Gary enjoy dinner and the rest of the night? Hope so!

Nancy- I am so jealous that you have so many good restaurants by you. We have a lot of pizzerias, a couple of not so good diners, and a few fancier Italian restaurants in my town. What yummy stuff did you get at the Greek restaurant?
How is Luther doing with his Lyme? Was he on abx? Scott's friend's dog was also Dx's with Lyme last month and he is doing great now. That makes me even more jealous than the restaurants Bwuahahaha!!

Kat- you totally crack me up! Sorry for ignoring your thread... See, I checked and doubled checked for today :p
Hope that Mich St won! And that ti awesome to have a gym at work!

Rae- how was the day, seeing the sun? Bet you and Taz both had a nice time outside. I should watch my mouth :tape: and not complain b/c even though it isn't sunny- the temps could be soooo much worse. And that tiny bit of snow/slush we had the other day-- that's nothing compared to what we normally get up here. Good luck with the new WW plan!
Pfft. No calendars at the dollar store,a nd the ones at Rite Aid were $8 and ugly. Not spending that much on something that is just ignored by my family anyway. Cait and I popped into the feed store and I grabbed some fish food and a free adorable animal calendar from them.

So glad that Emily Bites will be helpful to you all!

Happy New Year O fam! We celebrated with family in Myrtle Beach. First time in a while that I stayed up until Midnight. Then got up this am and walked the beach- the above normal seasonal temps dropped and needed to wear a coat this morning. Have wonderful days. We are planning a game day as tomorrow we leave for home and even colder temps!

good am and happy 2016. It will take me awhile to remember to write 2016. The party was a lot of fun. Catching up with all the friends and seeing the only grandkid. So fun! And we made it to midnight! Good food. Cant imagine why any one would stand for 12 hrs in Time Square to see the ball come down LOL. Yesterday was a lot of cleaning so to start the new year with a clean house and that made me feel good!

Chris is there no way to put the IV bad in a warm water so that when in flows in it is not cooling down the blood. I have always wondered why IVs have to go in at room temp. I have a greek eggs and it came with a lemon chicken soup which was delicious. And my favorite is spanakopita. And yes I am so lucky that there are lots of restaurants to select from. Makes me not want to cook. Glad that Cait did well on her first solo drive!

Kat sorry I did not see your starting of the tread. I am just programed to look for Chris's. So glad to hear that your boss enjoyed the piñata. So sorry about Michigan St. I watched some and I guess it was just not their game.

Rae hope you had a restful day.

Laurie hi. Your morning at the beach sounds so nice. Have a fun game day!

Good morning, ladies. Made it til about 12:30 last night and then headed to bed. Taz was shaking like a leaf and hiding downstairs in my office, under the desk, once the fireworks/bangs/noises started at midnight. He wouldn't go out at 12:30 for a bathroom break and I brought him to bed where he snuggled up next to me. He didn't move all night. I bet his bladder was just about ready to burst this morning but he didn't wake me up halfway thru the night like I was expecting. The only thing I can think of is that something happened when he was a few months old, at the breeders, on the first new years b/c he really gets so scared with firecracker/firework bangs. He's back to normal this morning, thankfully. Poor little guy. We watched 3 movies last night and ate a ton of food. I still have lots of leftovers and chocolate so told my hubs I will wait til Monday morning to start WW. I will enjoy the weekend and start fresh on Monday, which is good b/c then if I feel a bit cranky for a few days when I start restricting my diet and counting points, he will be gone away on business for 3 days. The good news is that if I follow this properly, I should be down 10 lbs or so by spring. Today the tree and decorations are coming down. Then I hope to scrap tonight as my hubs will be busy watching the hockey game. Looking forward to 3 days off work.

Chris - you might enjoy one of the heated afghan throws. I have one and have it across my lap as I sit in my office in the winter as our basement always is a bit cooler than upstairs and it keeps me snuggly as I sit in my computer chair. It's just big enough to wrap around myself and is fairly lightweight (not like the old heating blankets that weighed a ton). Too bad you haven't found a calendar yet. Keep looking, as the month goes on, they should start coming down in price. I haven't found one for my office yet and don't want to spend a fortune for it so am waiting for the 75% sale later this month.

Trudy - hope you had a lovely evening.

Nancy - my mouth is watering over the spanakopita....love that stuff! My next greek fave is moussaka. When I was in my early 20's, I worked for a year in a greek restaurant and loved getting my meals for free when working. It was my first introduction to greek food.

Laurie - sounds like a fun time at the beach and enjoy game day!

Kat - I'm still thinking about the gym you'll have at work. I don't live far from our gym but having one here would be even better.

Off I go to get my CT stuff done and then make bacon and eggs for us for breakfast before starting to take the tree and decorations down. Then I hope to get Taz off to the dog park this afternoon since it's cold but clear out today. I think we have at least 3-4 days of no rain now....yay. Have a great first day of 2016 everyone!

Morning ladies... I can't stay here, just wanted to say Happy New Year to you all!! We are off to Victoria for the day and for supper with the family. I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve! Our Chateaubriand was fabulous and my Bernaise Sauce came out perfect! The sauces scare me as I have ruined more than I can count, but Julia Child has shown me how to magically save them LOL. Hope to get the New 2016 Challenges thread opened soon too for you challenge ladies, but there has to be help from someone higher up than me to do this as no new 2016 challenge threads are available for me to open. Anyway I better get a move on :bolt:

Happy New Year everyone
:champagne

We spend a quiet new year's eve with some good friends, sparklers, glow sticks, wine and a beautiful new Peruvian tradition of eating 12 grapes and making 12 wishes, 1 for each month of the year.
Yesterday we recovered from the madness of a house full of friends over christmas and new year, and just hung out at home.
Today we made up for it by heading to the beach to drive across some dunes. That was great fun!
