What a chaotic week this was. More than usual? I honestly can't say. :noidea:
All I know is that I am cold!!!

Yesterday seemed to go on forever. I wasn't nervous about my mammo but right before I went, my brain started playing some mind games with me. Then I got aggravated since it has been 4 years and I shlouldbe going only once a year for screening... but no. Hmmph. :pout:

I went to clean for my friend and she turns the heat way down when no one is home but it was even way too cold to deal with, so I turned the temp up a tiny bit and then back down when I left. I know she wouldn't care and probably wonders why I don't do that normally. but once I am that cold, I can't warm up.

Today, I am going to brave the cold weather and head out to do a few errands with my mom. MIL got me some yarn for Christmas but only 2 skeins of each color. I am almost done with the second skein and will run out before the cowl is done. I hope that Michaels has the right color or I am going to end up with a very large washcloth. :D
I also need to find pet safe ice melt. There was none when I went to the supermarket the other day and Gary looked fo rsome at the pet store and they were out too. We only have a tiny bit left and it is only Feb.

I should post this so I can get in the shower before Scott wakes up. Today is the only day that both kids are in school at the same time, isn't that so weird?
(I am stalling, can you tell??)

xoxo!!!!!!!

Trudy- I noticed the same thing last night, it was still light out at 5.30! Come on, sunshine! How much should I bet that your Gary stayed at work all day? I am glad that the meds are working, the razor blade feeling is the worst. Women sure are the stronger sex. No doubt about it.
Did you make it to the pool?
I wasn't able to find the fingernail-- no surprise there. haha!!

Nancy- ouch. Property taxes... I am glad that mine are part of the mortgage so it all gets rolled into one bill. Are you eligible for the Senior Freeze on your tax rate? We get the booklet each year to submit info to see if we are eligible since Gary is disabled. Some years we are some we aren't and I can never figure out what changes. I think that some years you have to be disabled as well as some other qualifier that is something strange. we need more rateables in our town, desperately. The strip that had A&P and the Sears Hardware are now both out of business but there are rumors of a Tractor Supply wanting to move in. That would be a big help.
:blah: sorry for blabbering again.
Great news about Luther's ears. Is he prone to ear infections? Poor guy.
Wow, 10 game suspension is good news. Hopefully, it will send a good message to both players and refs.

Rae- how nice to have a quiet house to work in, just you and Taz most of the day :)
That is terrific that you have the woman so interested in a Low Carb diet. It feels great to inspire others. Cait is like that with the rats. My niece ended up being a convert and has 3 rats. She has a friend who now has 2. It is catching-- in a good way.
Did you have any luck with the coconut creamer and yogurt?

Trudy- great job with getting to the pool and increasing your laps. :whoo:

Jean- Caitlyn and I watched the hedgie-cam a while yesterday, We could see him sleeping under the wheel. We yelled at the monitor a few times to wake him but he didn't hear us. She loves his name too.

Felis- I understand that it is important for Jehovah's Witness to convert and spread their word. But I don't like it when they come to the door and refuse to leave. Gary once called Ray "Satan" just to get them to leave. This was years ago when she actually looked more intimidating than now. She had all of her teeth and was more black than grey. I love that you told them about the part they would prefer to ignore. I bet that is not common for them to hear.
Unfortunately, once you talk to them they never leave!! My neighbor who is Jewish tried to mess with them by listening to them and pretending to be interested a bit. They kept coming back, leaving Bibles on his porch.
I hope that they don't give you a hard time.

Groundhogs are garden "pests" -- but we like them. Some people call them woodchucks.

Is this what you have nearby?

Ok, Missed my chance to get in the shower before Scott but he is done so I am heading now.... See what happens when you stall long enough? *grins*

have a terrific day!

Ok, just quick note to Chris, because I can stop right now and also my post was last yesterday so I'm told to other all in yesterday thread.

Hmm, sorry but I still don't get it, Chris! no when I told wild hedgehog I just mean that they shouldn't be keep in captivity, because they are wild and they take care of themselves. If you ask me do we treat them like you do Groundhogs, yes probably. But if you mean how they looks like, no they are just a hedgehogs, but bigger than the kind from the library.

Morning O-zies and happy Friday! It turned much colder last night and so it is very frosty outside this morning. The skies are clear though and we will enjoy the sunshine today, because apparently it will start to rain again soon. We will see, the forecast changes hourly it seems LOL. This afternoon I get my hair cut and colour, looking forward to it as it always feels so good to have it done. Then I really need to make an appt for a facial, I got a lovely gift certificate from DH for Christmas for three sessions at the spa, a facial, a pedicure and a manicure. Seeing as I don't have fingernails that are long enough to warrant nail polish I will get two pedicures instead. So no other plans for the day, I will try to get some scrapping done and perhaps waste some time on Pinterest. I need to find something to inspire me to start painting again.

Chris - sorry that you are so very cold still, will winter ever end?? I bet you are glad that the mammo is over and done with. Not surprised that you would start to feel nervous about it, it must always be in the back of your mind that the dam cancer would return. I think that you are done with that chapter in your life and hopefully you will only have to have the yearly mammo from now on! Hope you can find the wool that you need to finish your cowl! i love those in the cold weather they are so cozy! You are such a good pet owner to make sure you use pet friendly ice melt!! I hope you have a nice day with your Mom today! You are so lucky to be able to spend time with her like you do!

Jean - How was your trip to the library? Hope you got a glimpse of the hedgehog, but sounds like he is very elusive! I too have checked the webcam link and still no sight of him/her. Hope that you get to enjoy reading your new books today!

Felis - Ugh, those darn Jehovas Witness!! They will return again and again! I hope that you are able to avoid them, we simply do not answer the door, even if they know darn well we are home. They are belligerent and I think that it is so awful that they feel the need to peddle their religion to everyone! I won't say anything else or I might say something I regret LOL. Yes my husband is bad for not staying home from work, but the days that he was home he was much to sick to do anything but stay in bed or lay on the couch and sleep! It is nice to have him feeling more normal today, so I will enjoy my quiet time while I can :becky:

Ok I will grab another cup of coffee and see what else is going on here at the O. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I was happy to finally get my coconut yogurt last night. They only had 2 cartons left so I think a lot of people had been waiting for a shipment to come in. I had some of the goat yogurt and it was ok but I prefer the coconut. They were out of my stevia sweetened chocolate bars so they must be popular too b/c they have about 5 different flavors and they were all gone. So for sure on Sunday I need to bake some treats for snacking. I'll make some bars and muffins.

Got my clothes picked out to wear tomorrow morning. Since we have to be out of the house at 7:30 am (to go see B), I want to have my bag packed and clothes ready, so my camera, snacks, etc will all get packed tonight.

I've got 4 more bags to drop off to VV at lunch time today. I sure had a lot of clothes before but it didn't seem like it b/c they were all different sizes and got worn at different times depending on my weight. This is the first time in many, many years that my weight has pretty much been stabilized for months at a time, only fluctuating a lb or two up and down. A good food tip I got from watching youtube paleo videos was to bake 1-2 sweet potatoes and then stick them in the fridge for the week. I always have avocado on hand and now having the potatoes in the fridge just needing to be reheated, has made it easy to put together my dinners. I have that and D has rice or white potato.

I want to think about V Day dinner over the wkend. I'm thinking of steak which I will BBQ but finish off on the stovetop with a butter sauce but I need to figure out my side dishes. Then I don't have to worry about it during the week when I'll be busier with work and don't have time to meal plan much. More and more I'm starting to plan meals on the wkend for the following wk which is helping with time management. I also started taking out 2-3 meats from the freezer at a time to put in the fridge to thaw out (since I've already meal planned over the wkend and know what meats I want to use). In the old days, I used to order out a lot during the week when I was busy, didn't know what I wanted and didn't want to sit down and figure it out but not anymore. Now I plan more. Took some getting used to but now it's becoming a habit to plan ahead a bit.

Chris - I'm like you, I get a chill and then just can't warm up. D laughs at me as I walk around the house with a sweater, my ugg boots and a scarf around my neck while he's comfy in his jeans and a tshirt. Hope you find the yarn at Michaels.

Trudy - I think keto initially got a lot of the lbs/fat off my body but then I was stuck at about 140 (50 lbs gone). I felt great but had the high cholesterol so on my doctor's recommendation I switched to paleo (more plant/fruit based so a bit higher carb but still considered low carb (around 50/60 day instead of 20), still high healthy fat but not as much as keto and moderate healthy protein, not as much as keto and not as fatty. My cholesterol is now in the middle of normal range. Then I stopped dairy as my doctor suggested that my body is still having an inflammatory response to foods and suggested I give up dairy and soy products. He must have been right b/c I'm eating more calories, higher carbs, but I've dropped another 20 lbs since Dec and feel even better. So for me, inflammation seems to be an issue but I can't say if it would make a difference for you but it might. So my plan is more like a version of autoimmunepaleo now.

Jean - yay for the good health!

Felis - I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs/opinions about religion but it just drives me nuts when some try to force their thoughts on me. I refuse to talk to JW when they come to our door. I smile, say no thank you and shut the door. Having a willing conversation is great if you want to talk but when you don't then others need to respect that....JW don't. They are taught to be persistent (rude) about it.

Time to get a coffee and get to work for a few hours. BTW....I swear I'm sleeping even a bit better with my salt lamp on at night. Yay. Have a great day everyone.

Hello girls,

It's Friday finally which mean that I'll can to wake up early tomorrow and finally to scrap! I have idea for all of the challenges, but no time. The weather today was lovely and I play outside with Biggie. I made for him dog playground like these in ours doggie day cares. I saw them in Travis Brorsen show, and make the similar with chairs. He was interested at the beginning, but got tired maybe after the third try. This dog really don't want to play anyway, so different than the others :pupkiss: , Smarty, previous him, was just like that too.

Chris, have fun with your mom! I hope you'll could find this yarn or to figure out how to make other color to looks like intentional decoration.

Trudy, I just adore your page of Stormy, at the beginning I was thinking that it's your dog. I'm still hoping that some day soon you will get another cat  , you speak for your pets with such a love. I hope to can scrap today too! Spa sounds awesome! Here is modern short manicure tool. You can take feeding up and gelish fixator for long color, but of course two pedicures sounds good too.

Rae, my sister which is the person who cooks at your family, do the same and plan a weekly menu. It's very important to see 'the big picture' like we says, instead to act day by day. People who have excluded some food group have to plan carefully their nutrition. Also this help us to organise one big grocery shopping, which give us chance to find better brands. Great that you found your coconut yogurt and chocolate bars! Yay, for the day with Bailey! Please give a big hug to J, your daughter is amazing, it's awesome how she opposed to his boss!

Jean and Nancy :hello: !

We got more snow overnight but now it's above freezing so maybe some will melt. DH got to feeling worse with the cold yesterday but in the night felt better for a while and maybe slept better then. Not sure he shouldn't rest more today.

Felis, when I looked at the hedgie cam last night the lights were off and the camera is recording in infra-red which is why it looks black and white. Quilliam was running in his wheel then. We don't deal with the JW folks. I won't answer the door but DH does, says not interested and they leave so he's getting better behaved ones. Glad you'll now get time to scrap!

Chris, wow, that house must have been really cold. At least you got through the day and started a new one today. We stopped by the hedgie yesterday and were told they'd had him out a little before and that he's up in the morning when they feed him. Otherwise I think it's only at night. Doesn't sound like a good companion for humans who need the light.

Nancy, sorry to see the Devils lost! Hope your day today is better.

Trudy, glad your MG is feeling better and you're going to have a really nice time with your activities. Finding painting inspiration sounds really good.

Rae, you are so wonderfully organized! Hoping the visit with B goes really well and you have some decent weather.
