The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
One week of February down, 3 more to go. When I get to flip the calendar to March, I can see the light at the end of the wintery tunnel. Although, this week has felt a lot like March. Tomorrow we will get cold again and next week we might see some snow/ice. But for now, it is just rain.

I cleaned my bedroom yesterday and it honestly wasn't all that bad. Just a lot of dust. Since Kib died last year, I am not cleaning up gobs of her fur anymore. I can't believe it has been around a year that she died. She was a sweet cat even if she tried to smother me in my sleep.

I was able to spend a lot of time with the rats and they make me laugh so much. Cordelia loves to burrow in my hair. I usually have it in a ponytail or bun so if she is on my shoulder, she crawls through it. She has another new nickname. Cordelia>Delia>Dilly>Pickle. Olivia is Olive. Titania needed a condiment so she is Tartar Sauce. That one doesn't roll off of the tongue as easily as the other two but we couldn't leave her out. LOL

Nothing planned here today other than cleaning my office. I have a lot of filing to do and I need to vacuum under and behind my desk. That involves a lot of climbing under it which involves my hair getting tangled in bits and pieces of furniture and at least a few whacks of my head.

Wishing everyone a very happy Friday!

Kay- PJ days are always good. When I clean and then shower in the afternoon, I usually put PJs on. Might as well be comfy. Of course, the neighbors must think I am crazy when I am outside with the dogs but at this point, I only care a tiny bit.
Hope that the winds didn't blow you away when you went out. It will be nice to have access to your fireplace again. *fingers crossed that your g-dd and family are able to sell and find jobs quickly and successfully*
Yeah, ITA- putting off the mammo is a good idea. My MRI came back fine 6 months ago and while I am 99.9999% sure there won't be another issue with the mammo, I don't think I could deal with needing to do another follow-up exam/test. I am 5 years cancer-free next month :cheer2: so it isn't like I am at that much risk of a problem. A month or so won't kill me *knocks wood VERY loudly* hahaha!!
So happy to hear that I am not the only staring at traffic maps needlessly.

Nancy- congrats on being discharged and on your own. Did it feel weird? I bet it felt good!
Wasn't Brian Boyle one of the best players last year on your team? Must be sad to see him go.

Rae- oh wow, is that good news about the extra work? I know that you will find a way to handle it. You are the queen of time organization.
You sound very cozy and snuggled in. Stay warm this week.
I wish that J would be calmer at other dogs on the street, she has gotten worse and worse barking at other dogs. People are scared to walk past our house and I don't like that one bit.
I have tried to do what the trainer suggested- walk in front of her, talk calmly that it is OK, and then herd her away from the street, but it doesn't work.
Any suggestions???

Trudy- that staircase is gorgeous!! I can see how it will be a lot of work, but it will look even better when you are done. Do you use a brush on the spindles? Would a sponge brush be easier? I never had to stain spindles so I have no idea.
Yuck about the snow, I hope that it passes you by too.

Nothing planned here today as well. I've been sick for three days now, fever and a cold, but moms can't be sick!

I still have to take my little one to school and do the grocery shopping. I even went to work this week with a fever lol. We get a bonus at work if we not call in sick for three months and it's a big bonus so...yeah..

Friday is always my day off so I have weekend now and planning on doing nothing but sleep and watch Netflix LOL

good morning - but it is not as it is raining and cool. My least favorite type of weather. My last day of in home pt. I will miss her. My Devils played a great game and only lost in a SO to the Islanders. My goalie was Cory Schneider and he played so well. It was terrible for him to lose as he has not won a game this season between being injured and just not playing well. He seemed different last night much more confident so that was fun to watch. I am watching the Marvelous Mrs Maisel and wow what a great series. She is amazing. I love the clothes. It is so different from me growing up out west. My mom and my aunt always wore dresses. So interesting. I still remember when in high school we girls first allowed to wear pants to school and not jeans though.

Chris playing with the rats has to have made you so happy. Have fun cleaning! I know that this month is going fast!

Trudy that stair case is amazing! You are doing such a terrific job. I hope your Gary sees what you have accomplished and jumps in and helps this weekend.

Kay I love that you have PJ days. I just cant stay in my PJs. I have sweats and that is what I wear now. Stay comfy!

Rae wow you are so busy yet I feel you do not get stressed. You just dive in and smile and get it done. So impressive.

Waving at all! Have a great day!

Morning O-zies!! Well the snow has started a bit earlier than predicted, so DH will be taking the CRV to work and I will be housebound. That's ok I don't like to drive in the snow anyway, it's not that I am not a good driver and my CRV is amazing in the snow, its all those other crazy people out there that scare the heck out of me :fear: LOL. So I guess there will be some shoveling to be done during the day to try to keep the driveway clear for when DH gets home. Its a really steep driveway so its not fun to do especially if it gets slippery out there. So I suppose I will be doing more taping and staining today and hopefully the staircase will be done in a few days!! I really want to scrap today too, I know I keep saying that and something always comes up and keeps me from being here :mmph: Yesterday I had to run down to my sisters to meet my other sister to get eggs from her. I ended up staying for coffee and had a really nice visit with them both! it has been a long time since we had enough time to all be in one place, usually we all have something else to do or somewhere else to be.

Chris - I always find that February flies by, while January is such a long month! It will be March before we know it and we all will welcome the spring and warmer weather! Nice to have your bedroom dust free now and ya I remember constantly having to pick up gobs of hair from my Mr. Abu, don't miss the hair, but sure do miss him! Hope you get your desk/office area all tidy and clean and try not to bang your head too many times when you are under the desk LOL. Thanks for the compliment on the staircase, the banisters are stained, but the spindles will be white paint. I need to get what is called "Stick it" primer for those before I paint. I want it done right and I know that the paint will not adhere to the spindles unless I primer them first. Hopefully with the primer they will only need one coat of paint. I do have some sponge brushes so will see if they work better or not. Thanks for the suggestion!! The snow is really coming down now and we are also to get a lot of wind too, looks like it will not be missing us. Hopefully the power stays on!

Marjoleine - Sorry to hear that you have been ill! Yes Moms are not allowed to be sick LOL, hope you did not spread your germs to all your working colleges! I would think that they would give you a bonus for not showing up to work when you are sick! Happy that you are home today though and can rest up and get better!

Nancy - Awww sorry that you will miss your PT!! But you will be fine I am sure! I wish we were getting your :rain: and not the :smow: that we are getting, you don't have to shovel rain LOL. Ugh on your Devils losing in a shoot out, do you hate shoot outs as much as I do?? I need to start watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel again, I love the styles back in those days too! My Mom used to always wear a dress too. Glad that we do not, but still they always looked so nice! Enjoy your last visit with your PT and I know that you will be a great patient and keep up with your exercises and get back to going on walks with Luther again! Yes DH has said he will help me get those spindles done this weekend. It think he is happy to have something to keep him occupied this weekend LOL.

Well I will grab another coffee and then I need to order something for Heather's birthday that is coming up later this month. I love Amazon!! Sure saves me lots of $$ on postage! Then out with the stain again and will get the rest of the banisters stained today. Have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Didn't get any snow last night but the frigid temps persist. Looks like Trudy got snow over on the island instead of us. I was hoping for a bit of snow b/c I know Taz loves it.

I've been catching up on season 1 of Good Girls. Season 2 starts beginning of March. I really love the cast. Can't wait to see the new season. I'll finish watching over the wkend. I need to do some baking this wkend, I'm all out of low carb goodies. I also plan to finish my book (Of Blood And Bone, #2 in the series) over the wkend as I've only got it for 2 more days but have <100 pages to go so I know I can finish it. I usually sit in my chair Sat/Sun morning and read for a few hours so should be able to finish it off. I would hate to have to reserve it and wait to finish the last few pages so will make time to get it done. I might even get some scrapping time too which would be nice.

Chris - the nicknames are so cute LOL. As for J's guarding, sounds like you know what to do, its just a matter of practice. One thing that helps is to get her to lay down and let dogs go by. That reinforces your alpha as you stand with her and puts her in a more submissive posture. As soon as you see a physical reaction, distract and reward right away. I was chatting with a dog owner a few times this wk, her dog George is a rescue, she's had him 5 yrs (he's 10 now) and for the first couple of yrs he would snarl and snap (not bite just scare) at other dogs but now he is calm and usually just ignores other dogs. Of course, when he met Taz he went right up and snuggled up beside him, tail wagging like crazy. She said that doesn't happen often but I explained that Taz is a special dog LOL. Every dog loves him.

Marjoleine - get well. I know how you feel, I never have time to be sick either. That's awesome that you get a bonus for no sick days in 3 mths. Hope you get it!

Nancy - bittersweet to have your last in-home session with your PT but good that it means you are progressing and ready for the next step of rehab.

Trudy - You're so handy, I bet the staircase is going to look great! I'm terrible at home renos. I don't have the patience and get sloppy. What are you going to get H for her b-day?

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work as there sure is a lot of it waiting for me. It's ok tho b/c my client will be off a few days throughout the rest of the month so this balances out the paycheque which is good.

Have a great day, everyone!

I had just popped in here to read posts this morning when DD#1 called to say she was on the way over. Quick dash in to get dressed before she got here. We got a cup of coffee... Then both of us had to run errands so left right after she did at 10AM. I ran over to the book sale at the library and came back with a big tote full... for only $5!!! Still have to go through and catalog them so I know what I got. LOL Ran over to the senior citizen center and pick up 3 books there. Then down to the lumber/hardware store and got the socket/wiring for my master bedroom lamps. Ended up it was cheaper to buy a whole kit with harp and finial + socket/wiring l than to buy the socket and wire separately. Also picked up some 3 way bulbs as I didn't think I had any left at the house since the lamps popped a couple of them this past few weeks. Also remembered to get AA batteries as I was out. Then over to the grocery store to pick up a few things I needed there. Back to the house to unload and put frozen stuff away. Jumped in the car... stopped to pick up mail then on over to get my hair cut. Was thrilled with the gal who cut my hair... she does a snipping angle cut with the scissors - not a straight line but like most do. I love how my hair turned out. Unfortunately she is not always at the shop near by... but she is up near where DD#3 lives {25 miles away}. I would drive up there to get her to cut my hair. Finally walked back in the house at 4PM! ! ! Long, long day and I am worn out. DD#1 had asked if I wanted to go see Mary Poppins Returns this evening... but had turned it down as I knew I would be too tired if I got all my errands done - and I was smart to say no. All I want is to grab a bowl of cereal then curl up in bed and read.

Rae, I just read Of Blood and Bone... wow... it was good! Hope you get to finish it before you have to return it.

Sorry... DD#2 just called and we spent 45 minutes on the phone talking. Now, I really have to get off the computer and get something to eat. CYL
