TGIF everyone! I survived the week. I know, I have said it a million times, Friday is no different than any other day. Yet, it makes me happy to think that I "survived" anything at all at this point. *rueful smile* So I survived food shopping, cleaning, the week. And none of it actually matters.

... I am staring blankly at the monitor, I feel like I have nothing to say...

I did a good job cleaning- I like that when I clean this house I can tell it is cleaned. There is something satisfying about seeing dust and dirty floors disappearing. Do any of you feel that way? I used to clean one house that looked spotless when I went in. I used to joke that I could sit and read for three hours instead and no one would know the difference. I never walked out telling myself "job well done."
Livvie's trip to the vet was because Caitlyn found a small mammary tumor in her armpit. The vet said that she should watch and wait. B/c she is spayed, it might never get any bigger and it is located in a spot where the blood vessels and nerves travel down the arm, he didn't feel the risk was worth it at this time. She brought the babies in for a quick exam and their spays are set for March. He will check Liv's tumor that day and if it has gotten much bigger he can do the surgery that same day as the babies'. He was loving on the little ones- cracks me up. And of course, he didn't charge Caitlyn for the exams either. She is so darn lucky that she found him. Or rather, that the rat rescue recommended him and she gave him a try. he is simply fantastic with rats.

Today I have to work on Oscraps CT things. I am so far behind on what I need to do. I feel awful about that. Sorry, Momma O!!!! :(

Love and hugs to you all

Felis- your dad is shovel trails? I agree with the "MEN!" comment. hahaha!! Give Biggie some good belly runs for being a good boy.
I cannot picture that road shape in my mind but it is making me think of some research that Caitlyn was telling me about when she was taking her Psychology of Perception class. Some optical illusions don't work in certain cultures. I think the one with the arrows was an example. <-----> looks shorter than >-----< because of the way we see corners. There is a tribe in Africa that doesn't make homes with corners, theirs are all rounded and domes. They don't see the illusion the same way that Westerners do. I wonder if our alphabets have an influence on how we design things like roads or buildings?

jean- YAY!!!!! that is fantastic news about the dorm and I hope that the class registration goes well too. I have to admit I have no idea where Micronesia is. I am going to have to look that up. How fascinating to be able to learn about different people and places. Now that Cait is 21, she has become more adventurous in tasting alcohol Pre-21 is was mostly Kahlua and Frangelico. I tried the S'Mores vodka-- not for me. I will happily stick to my box of pinot grigio :p
I am not out and about often, but when I am I try really hard to be nice to other people. It doesn't take any more effort to be kind over grumpy.
I googled Micronesia, I wonder how they are doing with rising sea levels- I see they are in the same area as the Marshall Islands and I know that they have been struggling with that. :(
I can only imagine how pretty the pearlescent painting looks in person. Gorgeous work as always!

Trudy- yuck that you forgot to not have coffee but yay for having coffee LOL
That is hard when you can't eat much from the menu. BTDT with Caitlyn more than once. It sounds like so much fun to catch up with old friends so who needs food?
WTG on the commission!!! I know that you are going to do the new scene great! Leah has finally made a shop for her paintings online and had sold a bunch of them already.
She has been using old records for some of her paintings and they look great (cheaper than wood or canvas too)
Oh, my heart is breaking over what is happening in this country. Each day gets worse. And scarier now that he is in full-blown retaliation mode. They are trying to get Mitt Romney kicked out of the party for voting to impeach him. Mitt Romney- the 2012 Rep Presidential candidate!! Death threats against the Impeachment Manager- a suspicious package was sent to his office the day after they arrested someone for making death threats to him. I am heartbroken. We are sliding into authoritarianism and no one seems to care!!!! I am heartbroken. We need viable, trustworthy opposition parties in order for this democracy to work. "A Republic of we can keep it." Heartbroken. Utterly heartbroken. :(
Sorry... I will stop. :tape: It is hard.

Nancy- I hope the game was good to watch last night. Fab job with all of the walking and cooking-- what did you make? You know me, always looking for ideas! I did make mozzarella and parm cheese sauce to cover the shells from the night before and it helped a lot.
what a relief to heave the "ugly/difficult" square done. And now on to the next :)

Rae- I was the same way yesterday, could not get warm. Hope the extra hoodie helped. Were you able to get all of the work and errands done?

Kay- That is one way to get the blood pumping with the carbon monoxide alarm going off. Good that it was just that it needed replacing.
Sending you warm thoughts although I will need them back tomorrow, we have a cold front coming through today with high wind warnings.
I don't even want to think about taxes...

I need more coffee... :tea: Anyone else want some? xo

Good morning, ladies. Got lots of everything to do today....desk work, CT work, errands, laundry and will be spending time over the next 4-5 days getting tax papers together. I procrastinated and haven't done last year's yet. It is my #1 least fave thing to do.

Need to stock up on food for the critters, two different stores for that stuff, then need to pop into a few stores to look for a hostess gift for a party on Saturday. I need groceries too. The day is going to fly by. I'm halfway thru The Silent Patient and am enjoying it but it's dragging a little bit now so hope things pick up. I am very curious to see how it ends, I have no idea yet.

Chris - it's great that C has such a good vet. I really like Taz's vet, he is so kind and caring. As for housework....I hate it. I will never be accused of having a pristine clean home :) Jen, on the other hand, loves housework and feels like you do. It'll be nice when we live together again, she'll do a lot of the housework and I'll do the cooking. That works for me.

Hope everyone has a great day. I'd better get at it.

Morning ladies... It will be a quick pop in here for me as yes I am finally off to the clinic to get my blood work done. Only water for me this morning, so the coffee will taste extra good when I get back home! It will be nice to just stay at home for the rest of the day it is another foggy drizzly day today and I am glad that I only have to go a few minutes away for my lab work.

Chris - How nice that Cait's Vet is so kind and caring for the rats! Yes I totally understand that you must be very upset with the idiot that is sitting at the White House!! Keep the faith that one day there will be an honest bunch that runs the country! You will have to send me a link for Leah Store, I would love to see her work!! How wonderful that she has sold some of her work already!!

Rae - You are one busy lady, hope you can get everything done today and perhaps your weekend will be a relaxing one! That would be awesome to have Jen do the cleaning and you do the cooking, what a great team you will make!

Ok I better get going or I will be late for my appt. Have a great Friday everyone!

The world turned white again last evening and it's snowing now. We may even need the driveway plowed again as it has only one little spell so far this winter. Class was good yesterday and I called the new drawing finished and also did a little more on a drawing I had forgotten and called it done. Then started a new one. I'll get them on the blog soon. Also started a LO for a challenge, but it isn't done yet. Lots of genealogy stuff waiting to be done but I don't have to be anywhere until next Wednesday when it should be a bit warmer. Maybe I should think about housework kind of stuff. And they are things I avoid as much or more than possible.

Chris, it seems like you did do lots this week when you actually write about it. Anything medical, whether for you or the critters, is stressful, even with that super vet for the rats. Glad a cheese sauce helped those shells. They sounded good.

Rae, you'll be busier than usual it seems. Got to get the goodies for the outdoor creatures. They are sure giving you a good time in return.

Trudy, did you remember the blood work today? Looks like you are on auto-pilot until that first cup of coffee. Hope the grands and their parents are dealing with the teacher strike. That is a shame, but must be a bad situation for the teachers to bring it on. Not only are they usually not well paid, but not respected so much either. Hope your weather is OK. Congrats on the new commission, but it does sound ambitious but I know the result will be beautiful.

Nancy, hope the Devils are doing good and the you don't get another square to knit that you don't enjoy. Glad you like the sound of spring training too even if your DH didn't agree. Pete Rose sure has a good argument now.

Kay, hope it warms up there for you. I'm cold today, but the temp. outside is still in the 20s so not as bad. Seeing snow on the mountain is the way to do it, but we don't have any here, so we get the snow.

Have a good one, all.

Quick in and out... spent most of the morning gathering papers for the taxes... have an appt with tax preparer next Thursday so had to get busy on gathering all the information needed. Just waiting for 2 more statements. Always hate when this time comes around. But the good thing is that I am a month earlier than I was last year...

It is warmer today but will be getting winter again early next week. Suppose to hit on Tuesday but I am hoping that it will hold off until later afternoon as I have the Red Hat chapter lunch here at my house.

Hate that this is so short but have a couple of errands to run and bills to get into the mail. CYL

Good afternoon girls!
Strange day today. My dad have another problems with the car, so today he has to walk to one place and I joined to him. I can't remember the last time when we are have walk at our town together, he always drive, even on short distances. He just ignore us when we insist that this isn't much health for him LOL. My grandpa (his father) was passionate hiker, and the difference at the generation isn't in advantage of the modern way of life. Roads are very icy and it was not much comfortable journey, but for me was so nice to walk at the snow world! Everything looks so much more beautiful at white!

Chris, oh, I'm happy to hear that Livvie's condition not worry the vet! I didn't get my callback for the vet appt, but with the broken car now, this is even better.
I totally feels like you about the cleaning! I adore the feeling for control and success when I clean!!! Oh, it's very interesting that some optical illusions don't work in certain cultures. I'm saw these african's rounded houses, but I didn't know they don't feels need from corners, I thought that they do it because of the tradition. It's probably difficult to build in rounds?! Haha, yes sometimes I have some of these ideas that stick in my mind and I feels need to find the answer, without actually this even to have any matter.
Do Leah will have something against the idea you to share with us her instagram link?! I would love to see her paintings, as I follow many illustrators and painters. My feed is like a virtual gallery :D .

Excuse me, I'm came with the personals for the others, as this wasn't the plan, but I messed my days schedule. :peep:

Rae, have fun on the party today! Such a busy weeks you had, it's nice that you are so well organised!

Trudy, do you found the supplies you need? This tropical scene sounds very interesting!

Jean, congrats for the class! So nice to hear you are in creative mode!
