Yup, I like saying it no matter that it means nothing to me. :p

I slept semi-decently last night with a good chunk of sleep until about 3 am, then dozed until 5. The sleep until 3 was deep sleep so that makes a difference even though it isn't long enough. My mood is so much better today. Not great mind you, but at least I am not fighting with myself to keep from screaming and tearing my hair out. Hah-- it's a good thing.

My dentist visit was fine, with no cavities. The latest in the run of washing machine repair techs came but was not able to fix the machine. Not that we expected him to, we still need them to sign off on the lemon law bit. The last company that had been here a gazillion times stopped responding to us and to Home Depot so we have to start at square one again. Thankfully, we can still use the cold water setting so we have clean clothes. The drum fills with water after the cycle is over so if we don't immediately take the clothes out we end up having to rewash but what can you do? My town doesn't have a laundromat and I would rather not have to drive to my parents every few days.

The snow and ice storm has moved into NJ. It rained all night and the temps are dropping quickly, I am very glad that no one in my family has to be on the roads today. I am going to try and call the electric co since the County is not returning my calls. I doubt that they will have any idea what is up with the county's end but I will give it a shot and see what happens.

Can you all send some good thoughts to Caitlyn? Cordelia is really not doing well physically. Mentally, she is exactly the same as ever which is making the decision to euthanize her difficult. Her back legs don't work at all but she gets around fine just using her arms. She is happy and still chuckles and licks Caitlyn's face when she snuggles her. Still loves her treats! Cait is in that grey area of wanting to let her pass on her own but if she doesn't, how long do you wait? Unfortunately, euthanizing rats is not always easy and neither of us wants to see that with Dilly. Caitlyn is planning on calling to make an appt for tomorrow but isn't 100% sure if it is the right time.

I am thinking today is going to be a pajama day, Or at least just sweats and fuzzy slipper socks.

Hope you all have a fab day Hugs!!

Good morning ladies. SpentBout 3 hours helping Shaun with a recipe that he found. He has sworn off cooking forever I think. It was hamburger patties rolled in mashed potatoes and deep fried. It wasn’t difficult but very time consuming. He didn’t like all of the steps and he hated touching the raw hamburger and then rolling the mashed potato ball in flour, eggs and bread crumbs. Way too messy for him.

Dogs did better together yesterday. Hayden is so high strung. I didn’t realize that until we brought Decker in. But the other home who wanted to adopt him had some pretty crazy breed and size restrictions at their apartment so he is with us. And he really is a sweet boy!

Another day in the 80’s and then it goes to a high of 57 tomorrow. The weather has been crazy. But I guess that my crazy is a lot better than the crazy that the rest of you have had.

@LSlycord Oooooh how wonderful those temps are!!!!!!!! I wish I was with you too and nope, I wouldn't care about a dirty pool at all. :D
I am sorry that the job fell through. My brother has had the same problem, he got laid off after working his entire life at Bell/Bell Atlantic/Verizon. Three years later and he is working at Trader Joe's. He actually enjoys that, he gets to do a lot of stuff with Christopher and works at night. But I am sure he would love to have a "real" job whatever that might be.
I am not sure that there is much demand for paper chain countdowns although I'm pretty good with those.
Bwuahahaha!!!!!!! I would order one from you if I had anything to count down to LOL!!!!!!!!
I am sure that the fight with Decker freaked everyone out. BTDT. Sometimes they need to do that to learn their places and a lot of the time it *sounds* much worse than it is. So smart that you have the leashes on since you are better not trying to break up a dog fight. Also BTDT.
Have you used a can of change as a noise disruptor? Put coins or similar in a soda can, tape it closed and you can shake or throw it, sometimes the sound distracts them. It didn't work in Whisky's case but she had no socialization with other dogs before us. It might work for you.
I am always full of not so helpful tips, aren't I? *G*
Good luck with the interview today!!!!!

I must have not mentioned anything about Scott's job situation. He had sent in his resume to the Great Swamp and was supposed to get an interview but he ended up telling his friend that he wasn't interested. He had gotten a call from his supervisor at the County Parks Dept where he worked PT last year. They offered him the same job but with FT hours. It is still seasonal and no benefits but the Great Swamp one was the same. The GS was a minimum of 1-hour commute each way- one accident on the highway and that would easily double it. The County job- he could walk to if he wanted plus he doesn't need his car to go to the parks, he drives a County truck. he is going to fill in some hours here and there at the Ecology Center (where he was supposed to get a job but Covid had other ideas)
A lot more options this way and a lot less time commuting and wear and tear on his car.

@Kythe What DH says about paying makes sense- but ITA that reporting it to Strata is a smart idea especially if it ends up molding :(

@Cherylndesigns How is the weather today? Is it warming up yet? LOL at Daisy not wanting to get her paws cold and wet. Don't blame her at all!!!
*knocking on wood that the power is still on* I am glad that you have a fireplace to keep you warm just in case. Oh nevermind. It is an electric one. That wouldn't help. SMH! I hear ya, we are all electric too- we have oil heat but that needs electricity to run. Water too- we have a well pump, also electric. Sending you warm thoughts!

@taxed4ever The birthday lunch and dessert sounds wonderful! How exciting to be planning a little getaway. I had to drive past a ski resort/spa to get to the dentist and all I could think about was a nice massage :) You both deserve that!
Are the boys home again today? Heather hanging in??

@scrap-genie Whew, that is good news that the weather shouldn't be too bad, just be very careful if you have to go out for anything before Monday. So far, so good with the power too? Hope so!!
Were you able to get any pics of the goldfinches or did you just enjoy watching them?
TY for liking my LO with Braxton and Linguini O'Brien, I had sooooooooo much fun with that one. I was cracking myself up. (It doesn't take much hehe)

@tanteva Do you and Urban have a cozy dinner/TV/movie night planned? Hae fun!

@tjscraps a five yo or a husband... there is not that much difference when they are underfoot *G* Woo hoo for "real pants!!"
Meant to ask you, how are your stitches doing? Will they come out soon? Hoe everything is healing well.

@BrightEyes Too much snow! It was doing the same here the other day, the sun was strong enough to melt most of what was on the driveway. I hope that you stay warm and power stays on. Those wind chills are brutal.
Did you sleep better last night? I hope you did, even getting a small but good chunk of sleep is helping me so much.

@mom2triplets04 Fringe was such a good show, we *loved* Walter.
Are you scrapping/sharing anything for your word/vision board?

@Susan - s3js all of my fingers and toes are crossed that you still have power. As much as I hate snow, the ice and sleet are so much worse. We always keep gallons of water stored in each bathroom for flushing too. And I boiled a bunch of eggs yesterday, just in case
PS: Breakfast for dinner is the bomb :D

Wishing all of you nice, warm days ahead!

Feeling better this morning... had a good night's sleep last night. Only woke up once and fell right back asleep. The sun is out but it COLD... 11* when I got up. This will definitely be a sweatpants and top with warm fuzzy socks day.

@faerywings So sorry that Cait is having make the hard decision about Cordelia. Glad that Scott has a choice in jobs and the closer one with a truck furnished sounds much better. Ah...that washer has been a lemon from the start. Hope you can get it replaced soon.
And thanks for the nice comment on my LO this morning. I do like Karen Schulz's Memory Photo (Grid) template... it was fun to play around with resizing different squares and deleting other ones. It has 100 1" squares that can be resized to however you want. Glad I had a lot of family photos to use for it.

@LSlycord Sorry the one job didn't pan out for you... but maybe the other one might happen. Yikes... a dog fight... glad they were on leashes. Hoping that will be the last one.

@Kythe I agree that you should report your neighbor's comments about not treating the wall space for mold after that leak. What a stress on top of the worry about whether the complex will sell or not.

@Cherylndesigns hope you didn't lose power during the storm. And hoping that the ice part of it missed your area. Can't believe how large that storm is/has been!!!

Off to get dressed and do a bit of cleaning. Have my Red Hat gals coming here on Tuesday so need to get a few things done before then. HAGD

@faerywings I did a vision board but out of magazines not digital. Are we allowed to post the photo here? It's in my physical journal for the word ENOUGH.

It was a late start for us this morning. We actually slept till 9:45. Puppy camp started at 10 so we were late. We got her there about 10:30. I dropped off my husband and then went to the pet store and got bagels. I return home at 12 and on my phone is a message from the camp. Myla had a bit of an incident. She was playing with her friend and they ran on top of a dog sleeping and Myla was bitten by another dog. She has a bite mark on her face but they said she is okay. She is still playing and they wiped her face with some ointment. We have not seen her yet. They said if we wanted to bring her to the vet the dog's owner of the one that bit her would pay for the visit. Never a dull moment.

Back for personals. I've spent the entire morning on a layout. I guess that answers the 20 minute layout comment. LOL I did create some word art for this layout...and I tried to be a bit more heavy handed with my use of elements. I felt a bit better about it. But still a lot to learn.

@faerywings that sounds great for Scott! Fulltime hours will really allow him to build up a good bank account. I am so happy that he is getting what he wants without having to drive so far. If he can just hold on, Covid will end someday. Thinking of Cait...hoping that Cordelia goes peacefully in her sleep.

@mom2triplets04 I would love to see a picture of your vision board. I think that it would be fine to post a picture in this thread. Oh no, about Myla getting bit. Although, I guess I can understand if she ran on top of a dog sleeping. But ugh...

@BrightEyes I loved your family photo layout. I was trying to guess which child was which. And all of the dogs have been fine together now for a couple of days. Hayden and Decker were even sharing a big food bowl. I was explaining to Syd and Shaun why it wasn't a good idea but they were explaining how none of the three dogs are food aggressive and how they know that. And they were right.

@faerywings yes stitches are out, they were only in a week. It’s healing, but I really hate how it looks right now - I know it’s not as bad as I’m thinking I’m sure, just it’s more noticeable than I ever thought it would be before the surgery. It has messed up my smile - made it kind of lopsided? It's still really tight in my chin and next to my mouth where they had to cut.

Good afternoon girls.

Chris @faerywings sounds good about Scott's job. Why doesn't anybody want to pay benefits??? They're crying for help, then don't want to provide much pay or benefits. Chuck said he read that McDonald's was paying people a sign on bonus to work there! Sorry to hear about Cordelia.

Yes, we're total electric here - have to put water in the toilet tank to flush - at least in FL, we had pool water if we needed to flush. It takes 1 gallon a day per person - just to do the necessities. We don't realize how precious water (and other "essentials") are until we don't have them. So far, so good and the temp is 31 right now. It's supposed to be back up in the 60's by next Friday. Being from the frozen north, we're all reassuring each other that this isn't "Michigan Cold". Every day, we say that. We can handle a couple of weeks of this.

It isn't bitter cold right now and isn't supposed to be except for tonight and tomorrow night - 13 degrees then it pops back up. Kay @BrightEyes it's unbelievable how huge this storm front it. We had such a gorgeous December and a very mild January - so we can make it for a couple of weeks. It's actually pretty mild here. We were outside, in our shorts and flipflops, last March, building our shutters. That's not very far off.

My crazy grandkids have been out of school - LOL - we laugh about that too. In Michigan they rarely closed school due to snow. They called theirs off way before the storm even hit. They've been off almost all week. Anyway, they were outside having a blast in this stuff - they were riding the Artic Cat and horsing around - of course, they have snowsuits and were totally dressed for it. They came zooming down here yesterday to deliver our mail. Roger walked down here last night in a hooded sweatshirt and his jeans. LOL Not even boots - just his regular shoes.

Trina @tjscraps I STILL say "those eyes" of yours are the first thing anybody is going to look at!!! Glad you got your hair colored, that has to make you feel better. The numbness is a real bummer - I had some surgery on my chin years ago and that really bothered me. Get back to normal soon, ok? Sending hugs.

Linda @LSlycord that hamburger recipe sounds downright yummy. I've had meatloaf with mashed potatoes inside, but never anything like you're talking about. Glad the dogs are getting along better.

Gotta go - have a good weekend all.

Good afternoon everyone. I thought it was Saturday LOL. It's so weird not to have to work but definitely a good thing. It's exhausting having to keep putting things away for the realtor showings each day, especially all the dog stuff. But the good news is that one couple today told our realtor that they will be putting an offer in on Tues so if we get at least one more, then the bidding war starts Tues afternoon. We have 8+ showings tomorrow and a few more on Sunday so it looks promising.

We got thru yesterday with going to the crematorium and packing up B's stuff. There is still one more trip to pick up things to bring to charity but most of it is done now.

Took the dogs to the dog park for a few hours today, they needed the exercise. It's been stressful for them to keep putting their things away so they got to run and play and de-stress for awhile. D is going to play poker with the guys tonight so I get to relax and do some scrapping for a few hours which I will enjoy.

@faerywings What a hard choice to have to euthanize. Hugs to C, not easy to decide on. Sounds like S is doing great job-wise. How is he doing now?

@tjscraps The scar doesn't look bad at all, are you putting vitamin e oil on it?

I'm going to go post a LO I did awhile back but then life fell apart so it got forgotten until now. Hope I can find it. It feels good to sit down to relax, no work, no open houses now until tomorrow at lunchtime and the dogs (and D) are napping. The house is quiet.

Enjoy the day everyone.

Myla is doing good. She just had a little red spot where she was bitten but her hair covers it. It's on her right cheek.

I think most of you aren't watching the Winter Olympics, so have to share a special image from the athletes' parade: the jackets of the athletes from Mexico. Black and white with a big sugar skull image. So cool. You can see it here: https://www.insider.com/photos-best-dressed-countries-beijing-2022-opening-ceremony-2022-2. @faerywings and @Cherylndesigns might especially like it. Weather here calmed down today and the drive has been plowed again tonight which got the ice pack from plowing the street. May have sun some in next few days and not quite as cold as predicted.

Happy weekend to all.
