Happy Friday!!
I unexpectedly have a 3 day weekend of sorts. I was supposed to clean today and I got rescheduled. Bummer.... now I have a free day to go shopping, but even less money than I should have, so it looks like I am not going anywhere. Maybe I can run out and stroll through our cheesy dollar store. Ravyn needs some new toys to de-stuff and they might have some valentine stuffed animals I can get for her. No point in spending lots of money on a dog toy that only is there to de-stuff, right? I bought her one of those "skins" for Christmas (its a stuffed dog toy with no stuffing) and she looks at me like" Mom! Whats the *point*??"

The other thing that i am going to do today is steam clean Scott's carpet. Now that he can actually see the floor, he sees how gross it is. I am thrilled to be able to do this. hahah!!!

Finish It Friday- does deciding whether to finish a book or just stop reading it count for that? I am in the middle of a book, "Songs in Ordinary Time" that is just not ...... well, just not. Its nicely written and its an Oprah Book Club choice...... Maybe I'll add "Going to the Library" to my list of errands too.

Eva- your tortoise is awesome! She likes to be handled? I think it might be all turtles, but I am not sure... but you can't have/breed/sell or some combo of that with turtles in NJ. I don't know if it is a salmonella risk or something else, but Scott wanted a turtle when he was little and we couldn't do it.

How was pottery? Did you post any pics yet?

Laurie- its too late to say be careful on that ladder, so I am going to say that i hope your windows sparkle now!

Linda S-- I hate when that happens! (losing a post!)

Phyllis- have you tired warm compresses on your cheeks and eyes to maybe loosen anything up that has built up in your sinuses? If you have any eucalyptus essential oils a drop or two in a bowl of steaming water, them make a tent and breathe in the vapors might also help. Feel better!

Kirsty-- WTG on wii fit!!! I haven't done that in so long I can't imagine what the "Board" would say- I hate that groan when you "step on." LOL

Clara- hope you had a great visit with Andrea. When is the show??

Sally!! So who are you guys all rooting for this weekend? Better say Giants! (Who play/practice and many live in New Jersey, *not* NY!! LOL)

Morning Chris, pant, puff- Just finished my gallery run for the morning. Wish I could stay home and play again, but alas, it is a work day. It is still snowless here, but I won't complain- easier to get to/from work. I need to buy some groceries, it is friday and the beginning of the month and superbowl weekend- what was I thinking when I didn't go yesterday.

I hear you on extra money to spend- my car has another $800 repair- catalytic converter- other side- did this last february too, and my prescription was filled $679- it will last me for 6 months and I had the money in my HSA- but now I have heart palpatations- speaking of heart- today is wear red for womens heart health day!

Okay, time to let the coffee settle, I see I was a bit rambunctious with my post!

'morning. man, am i ever getting sick of being awake long before sunrise. i really should take some photos every morning. except i guess you could say that most days around here in the winter, the "sun" doesn't actually "rise." it just gets light outside!

Chris, enjoy your day off. what you need is a good T.J. Maxx in your neighborhood. no bigger fun than perusing the Junk Aisles in the back of the store.

Laurie, nothing worse that car repair and big money for meds. our healthcare med provider changed, and they decided on their own to refill my prescription with a generic. i called and yelled. i hate to say that i don't trust generics, and i've been on the brand name drug for almost 10 years and it WORKS. when i think of generics, i think of that news story a few years ago about some generic heart pill component being made in some filthy back room in China. there were PICTURES of the conditions. it made me sick.

gonna go sell my daughter's solid silver flute today, i hope. i bought it for her in a moment of weakness when she was in high school. it's been in one of my closets since about 2004, so it's time to try to recoup some of my investment. from talking to the guy at the music store over the phone, i think he's going to try to get it from me for pennies on the dollar. i'll be forced to tell him that this isn't the Great American Giveaway, and put the flute back in my closet.

YAY!! weekend!! have a great one.

Good luck with that flute Phylis. What bugs me about my health care plan, is that I work for a health care facility- arghhh- some of my patients (even the ones on medicare/medicaid have better plans than I do!)

Chris- I did get the windows I wanted cleaned yesterday- well mostly- guess they were pretty dirty!

Morning ladies! How did it get to be Friday already, but it is and that is good!

Lots of running this AM of all the stuff I have put off from earlier in the week.............which is why Chris refers to 'finish it Friday!' My son will be home tonight after class and work today and always fun to have that guy around..............which is why grocery store is on my running list!

Chris-enjoy your Friday and happy cleaning and enjoy that book!

ohh man what a crappy morning already!! raining which is gonna turn into snow.....2 of my windows by the front door are leaking....grrrrr...and my 11yr old was literally ON THE FLOOR face down kicking her feet like a flippin 2 year old!!! GRRRRRRRRRR her and her sister (the 9 year old) are at each others throats this morning...if i didn't know any better i'd swear it was monday morning not friday!!!! twilight zone maybe?!?!

Morning ladies....OMG I think I slept my last two days away!! Feeling much better today although still have a stuffy nose. Boy this illness really knocked my socks off!! Going to try going to work today and then off to the doctor to have my stitches removed from my finger. Have to hit the grocery store for a few things and then home again to try to catch up on the gallery postings. I was looking at everyones beautiful entries but just didn't have it in me to leave any lovin yesterday :sorry:

Chris - I hate it when you get a book that is supposed to be so great, but you just can't get into it!!! Have fun finding something better at the library. Sometimes I wonder about Oprah's choices??? But to each their own I guess :noidea:

Laurie - Hooray for friday... hope your work day goes by quickly and that you don't have to fight big crowds at the grocery store!!

Phylis - I sure hope that you get a fair deal for that flute!!! Don't take no guff from that sales guy (of course I know you won't) ! My daughter also played the flute, but a good friend lent her one that she used to play when she was younger, so I didn't have to worry about purchasing one. Sending rays of sunshine your way, we have lots today so I hope it brightens your morning!!

Donna- Your son is visiting, how lucky are you!!! I miss my son :sad: He lives very far from us and I miss his sense of humor!! Although we face time a lot its just not the same. Have fun with him while you can!!!

Kristy - Ugghhh, sounds like not a good morning for you!! Was there a full moon last night or something?? Leaky windows, not a good thing, better get that looked at before you get major damage to the rest of your walls!! Hope the rest of your day goes better :hug:

Kristy, sound like a morning that could happen to me LOL

It started snow about 1 hr ogo in the NL. My village has a container with salt near the church. As soon as I saw the snow, I took al 10liter bucket and went by bike to get me some salt. Luckily nobody had that idea allready! Last year I was always to late GAH!
So I struggled, slipped with my bike and heavy bucket back home. But I'm the proud owner of a bucket salt now! The little route to my garden shed is snowfree! YAY

Imke went playing at another girl's place. fenna wanted to go and play at my parents house. I'm in doubt if I would take the sleigh when I go and pick her up. I think there just is not enough snow yet.

Hi all...

Just to say I'm still here and the drama with my daughter still continues. I keep getting calls about her or about this or that about her. e.g. Yesterday I had a call from the local hospital where she ended up when she called the ambulance. The call was from the billing person. No surprise that my daughter appeared to be sleeping but finally wrote my name and number for the woman. The billing woman didn't understand why she was angry when asked about her bill/medical assistance status etc Uh..she's not on the psych unit by accident.

Sunday my older son will go visit her wherever she is and try to get her to sign custody of her daughter over to the couple who have been raising her. That child's welfare is the most important thing to all of us. I hope my son can get this started before he leaves for Afghanistan...again. :-( My other son is flying in on the 13th, and if the paperwork still needs doing, it will become his job to convince his sister to do right by her daughter.

I've spent a lot of time with my two friends who are divinity school grads in pastoral counseling, and received a lot of strength and support from them. Letting go ...once again...but completely has been the oft repeated advice. The weight and sadness associated with that decision gets lighter and more bearable each day.

Today I finally put the rug back in the room with the tv and started my new Yoga dvd. Boy that felt great but what funny pockets of stiffness I had. I may even do some more tonight.
