Happy Friday, everyone!
It is still crazy warm in NJ and lots of fog. I think the temps are going to drop this weekend but still will be slightly above normal. The dogs have been so happy to be running around the muddy yard. I got a picture of Jaida in her usual Nice Weather Spot in the driveway. I couldn't get her to look at me, she was so intent on looking at the trees. You can see Whisky in the back
My big accomplishment was to update my computer to Windows 11. I had been dragging my feet (Susanne: procrastinating) for a really long time. I figured at this point, the bugs should have been worked out. It seems fine. I don't like the way the taskbar is set up but it might just need some time to get used to it.
Gary didn't feel good and he slept all day and I tried to be quiet. Until I called my mom. I love her dearly, you all know that. And I knew she needs someone to talk to, but dang. Why do she and my dad have to always poke at each other and react defensively to *everything???*
I tried my best to listen compassionately- while crocheting up a storm to keep my sanity- but it doesn't seem to help. She is coming here this morning, she has more photos for me to look through. I had a nice big glass of wine yesterday, maybe I should have waited for today. :/
I did some scrapping and I feel like I cannot keep up with all of the gorgeousness in the shop. I have so many kits I want to work with. It takes me forever to finish one page and I don't like to get a new one before I am done with the previous one so I am always behind.
Both kids have fun career experiences today. Caitlyn is on her way to NYU for an Academic Advisor Conference. She isn't a big fan of NYC but she and a colleague are taking the bus in together. Scott is assisting one of his colleagues on a school visit to discuss wildlife. Beavers, I think he said. The other guy used to be a teacher before he started with the Parks Department so Scott is interested in seeing how he presents the information to a class. Scott had worked with kids' groups before but they were usually outdoors. (Throwing pumpkins in the trebuchet is his all-time favorite. haha!) It will be different in the classroom.
Wish me luck and calmness with my mom. Maybe she will be less angry if she is here. Maybe? *fingers crossed*
