Happy Friday, everyone! :dance2:

It is still crazy warm in NJ and lots of fog. I think the temps are going to drop this weekend but still will be slightly above normal. The dogs have been so happy to be running around the muddy yard. I got a picture of Jaida in her usual Nice Weather Spot in the driveway. I couldn't get her to look at me, she was so intent on looking at the trees. You can see Whisky in the back :D

My big accomplishment was to update my computer to Windows 11. I had been dragging my feet (Susanne: procrastinating) for a really long time. I figured at this point, the bugs should have been worked out. It seems fine. I don't like the way the taskbar is set up but it might just need some time to get used to it.
Gary didn't feel good and he slept all day and I tried to be quiet. Until I called my mom. I love her dearly, you all know that. And I knew she needs someone to talk to, but dang. Why do she and my dad have to always poke at each other and react defensively to *everything???*
I tried my best to listen compassionately- while crocheting up a storm to keep my sanity- but it doesn't seem to help. She is coming here this morning, she has more photos for me to look through. I had a nice big glass of wine yesterday, maybe I should have waited for today. :/

I did some scrapping and I feel like I cannot keep up with all of the gorgeousness in the shop. I have so many kits I want to work with. It takes me forever to finish one page and I don't like to get a new one before I am done with the previous one so I am always behind. :giggle4:

Both kids have fun career experiences today. Caitlyn is on her way to NYU for an Academic Advisor Conference. She isn't a big fan of NYC but she and a colleague are taking the bus in together. Scott is assisting one of his colleagues on a school visit to discuss wildlife. Beavers, I think he said. The other guy used to be a teacher before he started with the Parks Department so Scott is interested in seeing how he presents the information to a class. Scott had worked with kids' groups before but they were usually outdoors. (Throwing pumpkins in the trebuchet is his all-time favorite. haha!) It will be different in the classroom.

Wish me luck and calmness with my mom. Maybe she will be less angry if she is here. Maybe? *fingers crossed*

@Nonni F I love the story of Thea and Evangeline and how she got her name. I love that you are a crazy cat lady. I want Eva to pop in here one day soon, she is a crazy cat lady too.

*yells* @tanteva We miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#kiss

@BrightEyes Yikes, that is cold, I hope you stayed in all snuggled and warm. That is great news about your shoulder/range of motion. I hear ya, the shop is practically bursting with beauty. Does it bother your shoulder to write or sketch? Get those ideas on paper while they are still there. Although... you don't seem to get the same kind of scrap block like some of us (me and Trudy!) do.

Ha! Arline and I are on the same page. ;)

@vickyday Yay for getting your return! Gary's disability is our only income. We don't pay in so we don't get anything back. No big motivation for me to do our taxes like it was when we both worked.
My entire family is short-- all of the Iantoscas. My brother is the tallest of us at 5'6" and Cait is thrilled to be taller than me at 5' even. Gary is 5'11" and I was praying that the kids would get his height genes but no luck there.
That is great that you have the info all set to return the shoes as well as all of the other stuff you got done! WTG!

@Su_Sanne :rotfl:
That would have happened to me just as well :holysheep:In our village, I only recognize people by their dogs. I also know their names - I mean their dogs names!!! :angelwhistle:
Same here-- I know Hunter's Mom and Harley's Dad that live on my street- no clue what their given names are. I see @Nonni F is the same too ;)

@bcgal00 sending big, gentle hugs to D. I would say that I hope you fed him well after the procedure but if the Crohn's is acting up he might not want to eat too much, I guess.

@taxed4ever Happy Birthday to Heather!! ♥ Did all of her guys spoil her yesterday? I look at my kids and can't believe how old they are, I can only imagine how stranger it feels as they start to hit even higher milestones. You look like you could be sisters BTW
Yippeee!!!! How was swimming? No water in the ear issues?

@LSlycord Good for you getting the mammo done. It sucks, but necessary. I am chuckling because that is how I feel too. I talk non-stop about my aches and pains, throw in a little about the kids and dogs and that is all I got. LOL Yet- I know that if we ever met in person we really would talk non-stop for days
Happy birthday to Andie!

I love audiobooks too, In fact, I am re-listening to the Outlander series again. My library has the novellas available too so I listened to the first one (Jamie in France with Ian, pre-meeting Claire) and the second one (How Minnie met Hal and got married). Now I am on the third full novel and can listen to them all day.

@Cherylndesigns How nice to get your nails done, I bet the massage was spectacular! Ahhhhhhhh!
I used to fit into sizes zero and three and I would shop in the kids' section until I had kids of my own. Now I am w-i-d-e in the butt bwuahahah!
How sweet that you surprised Steph! How has she been feeling post-surgery? Back to herself?

Yeah, yeah-- I know I am running late -again. Better log off!

Hugs!

Good morning! Not a lot happened after I popped in yesterday. Shaun has joined a 12 week boot camp for CrossFit. It is so intense but I am hoping that it will get him out and with some people. That would be very good for him! It's expensive so I told him that we would split the cost as long as he is making an effort to go and make the most of it. Then Sydney talked to the Study Abroad advisor and found out that they are short on numbers for the Study Abroad trip that she wanted to take. They need 10 by March 1 and they only have 6 so not looking promising. She is disappointed but I told her that this will probably be the last summer that she gets to be home so I'm not sad about that. I do feel bad because she is disappointed and it was such a great opportunity. Anyway...

Brian got a shingles shot yesterday so his arm is still pretty sore. But that's the only reaction he had so that was pretty good. Beautiful morning here...we even have a breeze. Supposed to get to 83 but then temps drop to a high of 62 tomorrow and then back into the upper 70's. How crazy is all of weather?

I don't know how many of you get Karen Schulz's newsletter but she is offering a new service for scanning and I used it. The cost is amazing and I now have all of these pictures scanned and ready to use. I am so inspired right now.

@faerywings hope that your time with your mom this morning is good. Sorry that Gary isn't feeling well...that is tough! But what fun opportunities for Cait and Scott! I can't believe how settled they are into their jobs now. I do look forward to that feeling but I have a few years left.

@Nonni F have you told us the story behind your screen name? And I hear you on the "people person" being ruined. I wonder sometimes if it's because I'm older that I feel this way or if it really has just changed so much. I think it is because it has changed so much!

@BrightEyes can't wait until you start feeling like scrapping again! And I don't know that I commented on all of the family that is coming to visit! You are going to have the best time! The stories that will be told! Makes me smile just thinking about it.

@taxed4ever how are the ears? Was your swim good? I hope so! I like your choice in music for sure. Very eclectic which I love!

@vickyday did you get all of the errands completed? Hope so!

@bcgal00 hope that the colonoscopy was uneventful yesterday!

@Su_Sanne I'm loving the way you are jumping in and learning all of our English slang. So fun!

@Cherylndesigns what a sweet thing to send clothes to Steph. I'm sure that she had so much fun opening that box!

All right...I'm off to do some scrapping. HAGD all! We made it to Friday!

Praying all is calm and bright with your mom today!
So sorry Gary hasn't been feeling well. Prayers for recovery!
My screen was doing weird things as my laptop was booting up this a.m. I'm afraid I'm going to end up having to get another one in the near future! I keep balking because I don't want any new versions of anything, LOL! Including my PSE. I want a physical CD to be able to load my stuff! The fan stopped working a couple of years ago and I get a warning screen every time I boot up, too. It's just a matter of time. I should back up my PSE to an EHD so maybe I can transfer it over to a new whatever whenever. Changing computer setups makes me bonkers! #crazy-2

YES! Everything done on the list!
Returning the shoes was a piece of cake (very easy, Susanne)! I even got some crocheting and knitting done yesterday. I bought some of that scrubby yarn to make dish scrubbies. That's what I made yesterday. Mark even took one of them to the woods this morning. Not sure how they will hold up for whatever he plans to do with them, however! We shall see!

Quick in and out again today. I'm heading out here in just a few to pick up Carolyn and go to Ilene's. It is raining today and warm. Mark went to the woods to read (in the hammock, probably!) If it stops raining, which it is supposed to do later today, he may get some work done, but the wood might be too wet to work with, too.
Got all of the errands done yesterday and even did some crocheting and knitting. Making dish scrubbies for the kitchen with a special yarn. Pretty easy! I'm anxious to see how they do.....well, not really! I hate having to scrub stuck-on food, LOL!
OK, gotta get dressed and leave. Qwirkle is on the menu for today, after we help Ilene finish a puzzle.
HAGD!

Yikes!!! It is only 16°F... talk about cold!!! :brrr: :brrr: :brrr: Oh, wait... it just dropped another degree to 15°F! I will be staying in today. I had to go out yesterday afternoon to pay a bill and make a stop at the grocery store for milk, bread and some fresh fruit. The sun was out but only 33°F with wind blowing so the wind chill was 19°! The mountain was so beautiful - covered with snow. Thank goodness the roads were clear with no icy patches except in some parking lots. I may do another PJ day today as my flannel PJ are so nice and warm!

Yes, I am so glad that the left shoulder is improving. The exercises are really helping. This morning - without thinking about it, I reached up with the left arm and opened the door of the Microwave (which is over the stove) and no pain!! I was stunned when I realized what I had done. Will still be careful and continue the exercises but thinking that I may be able to get back to scrapping soon. :busy1: Still finding that typing takes longer and makes the arm ache some. Hopefully that will ease off soon.

@faerywings I hope this morning's visit is more pleasant than you expect it to be.
@LSlycord as for my screen name. When my first grandchild was arriving I was asked what I wanted to be called. I always adored my Nona and said I wanted to be called the same. My oldest grandson had other ideas. He never said anything but Nonni. So, Nonni it is. I ride with the Patriot Guard and used it as my log in when I joined back in 2006. I don't think half the old Nam Vets I hang with realize they all call me grandma! hehehehe
Nothing exciting to report here in y corner. Fridays we close the Town Hall at Noon.. so there's THAT.
Hoping to scrap this weekend. Been having trouble with the latest Miscrosoft update on my laptop. Hoping it had time to sit and will be nice to me this evening.
Enjoy your day, everyone.
PEACE

Good morning ladies. A friend is coming to visit this morning and we'll head out for a drive and take our cameras in case we see anything interesting to photograph. It's a quiet time of year for wildlife but you never know. D feels fine after his colonoscopy. The first thing he wanted was take-out food and a big piece of cake. Ugh...his diet is terrible. He enjoyed the shepherds pie for dinner and I had a big salad with tomatoes, ham, cheese and ranch dressing. We have leftovers so we'll have the same thing today. Easy peasy, just the way I like it :)

@faerywings Glad you got the software updated. I'm still on windows 10. Hope the visit with your mom is good. You might need another glass of wine LOL. I agree with Linda, you are the queen of fantasy scrapping now. It's never been my thing and never will be, but I applaud those who have fun with it and make whimsical fantasy pages.

@taxed4ever Hope H enjoyed her birthday. Did you go swimming? How was the water in the ears?

@LSlycord B getting the shingles shot is a good thing, I keep thinking I should get it. Have to figure out how and where b/c I don't know if we need a doctor's referral for it (no doctors here so online stuff only). Enjoy the warm weather, we are at 20 right now.

@vickyday Me too, hate changing computers. Too much work and it never goes smoothly for me. My laptop hinges are broken and the screen cover is held down with tape. I'm sure I'll need a new one soon too b/c I expect this one to conk out at some point.

@vickyday Enjoy the games with the ladies today. How productive you were, getting some scrubbies made.

It's time to get out and feed the birds, shower and get on with my day. Hope we find something fun to photograph but if not, we'll have fun just hanging out. HAGD everyone.

Good morning. Chris @faerywings hope Gary gets to feeling better and about your parents - I yi yi. You know they love each other, even though they pick at each other all the time. :heartpumppink: They must be real characters. It was so nice to get a manicure yesterday - the hand and wrist massage is worth the price. You have arthritis in your hands too so you get it. I just wish it lasted longer. Steph sent us pictures of her clothes this morning. She wore one of the suits to work and she looked SO cute. She's always been little - tall but little and she's really tiny since her surgery. Thanks for asking about her - she seems to be getting back on her feet. Her surgeon is very happy with her progress!! He tells her the weight will come back - he's not worried about it. I hear ya - I used to be a size 6. I was never as tiny as her, but size 6 is little for me.

Linda, @LSlycord good luck to Shaun with cross fit. A lot of the kids here do that. It's really tough and they're always on these crazy regimens, which I'm sure he won't have any problem with - he seems very disiplines. My gk's go to the gym almost every day, but they don't do cross fit. Ava's bit into Jujitsu now, as you know. She trains every day but Tuesday and occasionally takes Sunday off. It's a lot of work.

@Nonni F I had to chuckle over your username. My gk's call me Cici and I used that as a username for a long time. I still use if for my email. A couple of them - now that they're older, call me "Cice" and one of my granddaughters calls me "Cicer McGeeser" I have no idea where she came up with that. My gs (the rebel) calls me "Icic" - Cici backwards.

Kay @BrightEyes stay warm!! Yikes, that's cold. DO NOT send it our way! We're having a few "cold days" but it's supposed to get back up to normal in the next few days. It's only 34 right now. The average winter temp here is probably high 40's low 50s. It's typically fairly moderate - probably the mountains keep it that way. We can't complain - we always say "it's not a Michigan winter" - months and month of winter when we lived there. It's normally "hooded sweatshirt weather" here. I think I've worn a coat maybe 5 times since we've lived here.

I'm going to go get some more tea and I need to post some CT things. I ran out of steam last night and put it off until tomorrow.

Hello to all and hugs.

XOXO

@Cherylndesigns I always love the stories of where names like that come from. My great grandfather was "Parky". Never questioned it as a kid. Just assumed everyone had a Parky. Apparently my father's oldest brother called him that as a toddler and it stuck.
I love these stories, too. I was the oldest and i dubbed my maternal grandfather "Poppy". He was always Poppy. One of my friend's daughter has always called her grandpa "Corn Pop". I think that's the cutest name. It's just natural to her and I call him Corn Pop when I'm around him. LOL

Good Morning O family! Well getting my ear flushed out did the trick and my swim was awesome! No water stuck in my ear and my new bone conduction headset worked perfectly as well! I am so happy to be able to be back in the pool! I must have picked a good time to go as it was not very busy and for most of the time I had a lane all to myself. :lovey3: My DH has the day off today, so we are enjoying a cup of coffee together in the living room keeping cozy warm by the fireplace. Not sure what he has on his agenda today, but more than likely we will be doing some kind of project together LOL. I need to get some more cauliflower wraps made today and perhaps a pot of buffalo chicken soup. I know that DH wants to try out his new power washer so maybe he will be outside doing that today.

@faerywings - I do hope that your visit with your Mom goes well today! I have noticed that my MIL and FIL are picking on each other more now and the visits are not so enjoyable anymore. Yes it does seem like the kids are enjoying their jobs and I hope that they both have a good time today! Thanks for the birthday wishes for Heather! She had a nice day with her boys and guess what they got her for her birthday?… A new watch!!! now she will have two of them as I sent her my Mickey Mouse Watch.

@LSlycord - Hope your hubby is over his sore arm soon! Do you have to get a second shot? I am pretty sure that we have to do two shots here. My sister was very sick with the second one, but she is the only one that I know that had that kind of reaction to the second one. Sure hope that Sydney is able to go on her Study Abroad trip, she will be so sad if she can't! I also hope that Shaun enjoys his Boot Camp, but it sounds like it will be very intense! Yes the weather is crazy everywhere, Heather had plus 14C on Wednesday and today they are minus 14C. Brrrrr!! The boys are home because the buses could not run, too much freezing rain during the night. It’s crazy!!

@BrightEyes - sounds like you are doing everything right for your shoulder! How nice to be pain free again! Keep up the good work! Perhaps you should think about a more ergonomic keypad for your computer, it might help with the typing issues??

@vickyday - Hope you enjoy a nice day with your friends today! How funny that your DH plans to read on his hammock in the cabin! Hopefully he gets some work done out there too!

@Nonni F - Love the story of your username! My grands call me GG, which should be used for Great Grandma not Grandma, but it’s ok I love that they have given me that name! They call their grandpa, Papa or sometimes Pops and he loves it!

@bcgal00 - Heather did have a fun birthday! The boys made her a doughnut cake, Tim Horton‘s is right down the street from them so they went there with their Dad and put together a cake made of doughnuts LOL. Yes swimming was great and no problem with the ears! Hooray!!

@Cherylndesigns - What a lovely surprise for Steph, you are such a caring person! I love to surprise my kids with little things too. I hope you catch up on the CT stuff today! I need to get busy scrapping too, but I don’t know how all of you gals manage to be on other CT’s where do you find the time to get it all done??

Ok my Gary has informed me that we are off to Home Depot today, wonder what he has planned to purchase today?? Have a great Friday everyone!:waving1

Trudy @taxed4ever what wonderful news that the ear flushing helped!! I had that done recently and they felt so much better afterwards. I'd never had it done before and didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't painful at all. Glad you could get back in the pool - I know how much you love swimming.

Steph wore one of the outfits to work today - she said one of her patients wanted to feel her jacket - the fabric is SO soft - like butter (we say). LOL She looked SO cute in her little black suit. I forgot to tell you girls that it had the "thumb things" in the sleeves. She absolutely LOVES that feature and was so excited about that. It's the little things. I love surprising people too - she had NO idea that we were sending the clothes. She said everything fit perfectly!

LOL about being on multiple CT's. You know I'm a night owl, so I scrap a lot at night. I try to keep ahead of the game and make my pages as soon as the designs are posted. Sometimes, I know I post multiple pages at the same time, but the reveals just work out like that. Most of the pages have been made at an earlier time and are just waiting to be posted. Kind of like our pre-releases here. I just have to keep track of them. LOL I have to make sure they're all labeled correctly.

Hi all. Am settling down after a crazy few weeks here of hurricanes and floods. Fortunately where were are we escaped the worst of it (neighbours in adjoining townhouse flooded a little but the few inches of height we had saved us!). I was home alone for a week for the hurricane so was particularly grateful I didn't even lose power and water (but some parts of the country are absolutely devastated and it is terrible to see). In happier news, my youngest has arrived safely for a visit and is recovering well from being unwell and alone. Been weeks since I saw her, lots of hugs :)

Loved hearing everyone's family names BTW. My mum was always called 'Nana Woman' because my eldest didn't get to see her from when she was a newborn till she was nearly one, and she gave her such a suspicious look at first that my mother joked she was thinking "who is this 'Nana Woman' that is fussing over me?' ;)

@faerywings hope it goes OK. Reactive people are so hard to deal with and keep patient with. x
@taxed4ever ugh water in the ear is my absolute bugbear! Glad it's better

Hopefully that will ease off soon.

XOXO
LOL! There's ALWAYS gotta be a rebel in the crowd! I like the Cicer McGeeser name for you!
Size 6????? I think I was BORN bigger than a size 6, LOL! No petite people in our family!

YAY! So glad your ears are better for your swimming! I wish I could swim! Doggy paddling is all I can handle.
So glad your daughter had a good birthday! My oldest turned 43 in January! Makes me think I should feel so old.....and I do somedays.....but not usually! A doughnut cake sound really good right now!
My mom and dad really picked on one another until my mom took sick with Alzheimer's. And then dad treated her like a queen! It was so sad, really! He tried to keep her home as long as possible, but it started affecting his health, too! He ended up dying before her.
Did you and your DH work on a project yesterday while he was off?

AND, Mark did read in his hammock. He has a couple of friends coming today to spend time doing whatever they will do out there in the woods! I told Mark he was going to have to tell them to BYOH.....Bring Your Own Hammock, LOL! He will have to put hooks across all 4 corners of the cabin! I hope they all swing in them so they don't end up rocking the cabin down, LOL!

XOXO
I agree with Trudy! I don't know how you and some of the others keep up with more than one CT! And I'm a night owl, too!

Oh, Lynn! So sorry to hear about all of the terrible weather you have been enduring of late! But, so thankful you came through everything seemingly OK!
HA! Love the Nana Woman story! My mom and dad were always Grandma and Grandpa to my kids. My first GS called us Grandma and Grandpa but the GD (second grand) from West Virginia called us Mamaw and Papaw. From then on they have all called us Mamaw and Papaw.
