Happy Valentine's Day to all who celebrate that and a Happy Galentine's Day a day late.
th

(If you haven't watched Parks and Rec, you should. Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler's character) is my kind of lady.)

No Valentine's celebration here. I am not big on Hallmark holidays but I did give Gary a big hug. Well, I do that every day so I shouldn't pat myself on the back. *wink*

The temps have dropped like a stone and it is making me ache all over. I know that you all relate to that. I was going to clean the house but I am going to work on cleaning out the filing cabinets instead. I can drink coffee while I do that. Bonus for me! Yesterday, I got the majority of the bills paid, two more to worry about at the end of the month. Other than that, it was a pretty quiet day. I made baked potato soup for dinner and potato skins on the side. It is a good day today to have the leftover for lunch.

That is all I got. I should try to do some scrapping today. I am far behind and the month is half over. I have to work on some more pages for Christopher's b-day book. I need to do that by mid-April- which will be here before I know it.

Love to all of you!

Trudy- How is Heather holding up with the boys' crazy schedules? That kind of thing knocks me off balance. WTG on having a productive day. I wonder what that feels like ;)
I hear ya, Raynaud's STINKS! Right now, the tips of my fingers are freezing, my feet too.
Bet the music gets you going for your laps.
That is fab news that your MIL is having a good time and lots of success with Ancestry. That is cute about telling her to take a pic of the book. My mom is like that too when I suggest she look something up online.

Felis- do you have the spaying appts set yet? I am disorganized too but I need and want to be more like Rae. I am sorry that your Valentine's Day isn't working out for you. I am sending you Galentine's Hugs! I know it is not the same but know that you are loved.
I hope that posting here in the morning is a good thing too. Unfortunately, the majority of my posts recently are :blah:

Rae- good luck with the taxes, hope it went well.

Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate it! Hope you had lovely surprises today! I'm never felt more lonely in my life than today. Eat muffins and waiting rain to start. Love to listen the rain at night time!
Shuttt! Can you keep a secret?! :tape: I have a very romantic story for you today. My sister received as a combination gift for today and her b-day traveling to Paris at the end of the month. I strongly hope that the excursion wouldn't be the only gift and she will come back from there with ring! Proposal in Paris for bday is soo banal, but still count as one of most romantic ideas at all romantic movies. I can't keep a secret and it's so difficult to me to not share my suspicious with her, but at the same time don't want to spoil the surprise! I'm telling to you, because know you will be happy for her, but also to be my witnesses that I'm predicted it!

Chris, yes sometimes karma is chick, and after whole month of trying to get appts, they gives me for tomorrow. It's literally saved me, as my plan for the weekend was to stay at the bed and pretend that read love story novel, till actually I'm spying my exes' Insta. Sad!! But now I'll be totally distracted by nursing this very naughty girl. Oh, I'm also in the group of 'behind with scraping', this year I don't have any mojo for taking photos or skrap. Hope to fix that next week!
Oh, it nice once when bills are behind!

Rae, you handle with so many things, so it's really difficult for me to believe that you can have even seed of disorganization.

Nancy, WOW, your bday sounds marvelous! A dinner with the President of the NJ Devils, how cool, I'm so happy for you, girl! I see we will cross post and I'm so curious for more details!

 and  to all!

good morning - well I am now a year older! But it was a great day. On Wed. I got my hair cut and colored and she made it a bit more modern. I like it a lot. It is still short which I love. My son's car is in the shop being fixed and so I had to walk but it is just downtown and before my knees I walked all the time. The weather was sunny so it was good but I was nervous. But I made it with no problem and home too. And the next day my knees were fine. So on Thursday my birthday I was invited to a dinner that the President of the NJ Devils hosts with season ticket holders to give the state of the team. It was so interesting. Learned a lot but I was also able to ask questions that they did not have answers too. That made me feel good as they should know - one was why I cannot bring a camera into the Rock when everyone is allowed to bring their cell phones with their super duper cameras. Dinner was good. And I made sure that I told them my rep was really good. My DIL and son had dinner in the Devils lounge and so I sat in her seat so that was fun. But the best was after being down 1-0 at the end of two periods my Devils scored 4 goals in 4 mins to win 4-1. I took the train as I had to be their at 5pm and so again I walked downtown and then from Newark train station to the Rock. So Chris it was not that bad maybe 20 mins in the covered walkway. Luckily the rain stopped by the time I was walking. So by the end of the day I had done over 11K steps and almost 4 miles. I was sore but not my knees. And I slept great. So I am happy with my knees! And thanks for all the nice birthday wishes! You are the best! Today is cold and sunny and windy and sometime I will have to get Luther out.

Chris I was blah too on those rainy days and not it is so cold. The windy is horrible. Hope the dogs go out and back in fast! We don't do Valentines's day either. Glad the talk went well for your mom and she is now more informed and can make a better decision.

Trudy all moms need me time. LOL but wow they really have to figure that strike out. In NJ (Chris I think this is correct) they are not allowed to strike but they do not have to do any thing extra for the school and they will get back pay when the contract is settled. Glad the waterproof player is working so well! And I agree sometimes you just have to get outside. Bruins are doing well again so your Gary must be pretty happy.

Rae good luck with taxes. Thanks so much for still posting the bird and squirrel photos. I love seeing them.

Jean hope you are not freezing like we are but I bet you are.

Felis hope that you got the appts all sorted out and you and dad are all set!

Kay hope your are reading and your weather is good!

Have a great day all!

Well, yesterday was a running all day... saw the tax gal first. They had moved since last year and now about 10 miles closer to me. Yea!!! Still waiting on one more 1099 to come in. Then on the way home I made several stops - at the veggie market & grocery store. Target finally had the mesh bags for veggies in so I got the last two packs they had. Stopped at WM and picked up the comforter I have been eyeing for awhile for the guest bedroom. Wow... it looks great in there. Then over to Sam's to renew my membership - I had let it lapse last summer. I am overdue for my yearly hearing test and check on my aids. Got that set up for the end of the month. After a quick stop to drop off groceries at the house - I took my library books back and picked up some more then over to the Senior Center and got a few more books there. I found the last one of Dee Henderson's books that I was missing at the Friends of the Library books for sale section so I was a really happy camper!!! I saw on FB that Kay Hooper's new book has been released so will be looking to get it soon.

When I got home, I found a bouquet of flowers that DD#1 dropped off while I was gone. She is so sweet to remember me on special days. DD#1, her hubby and I are going out to brunch tomorrow. DH and I didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day except with a hug and kiss - but nice that the kids try to remember and give my spirits a boost.

At least the weather had warmed up into the 50's with clear skies so it was a nice day to be out and about. Unfortunately I was up on the feet too much so will have to take it easy today with the foot elevated again. Can't even stand to have my slippers on the foot today...so that will remind me to stay off of it.

Chris, glad you are taking on jobs that let you sit. Yes, getting the bills paid was a good thing to do. I paid all of mine yesterday too. Oh, potato soup sounds wonderful... especially on a cold winter day.

Nancy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Glad you pampered yourself a bit with a haircut and color. I am with you... I like short hair, too. Wow... that is wonderful that you are able to walk so far again.

Felis... hope that your prediction for your sister come true during her trip to Paris. What a wonderful memory that would be! You are a good sister to not hint to her about it, either.

Time to get a shower and get dressed. Then have some CT scrapping I have to get done. Good thing I can prop my foot up while I work on the computer. Hope every one has a great day and a great weekend.

Morning ladies and Happy Valentine's Day to you all. DH and I are not big on Hallmark Holidays either, but he did surprise me last night and brought home a lovely bouquet! I never get flowers, but he said that he thought maybe he doesn't tell me enough how much I mean to him. Today I have already had a face time with Heather and Hunter. Mason is at school today and hopefully will only miss one day next week. Monday is family day in most provinces in Canada so we all will have a long weekend. Finally the sun is shining brightly and it is a gorgeous morning, fresh snow on the mountain tops, but thankfully none on the ground here! It is bitterly cold where our kids are living, so hopefully it warms up for everyone out east very soon! I actually got my page done yesterday and will work on another hopefully this afternoon. No where to go today and I know that this will be a busy weekend, so I will enjoy the peace and quiet of the house today!

Chris - Happy Galentine's Day to you! I have not seen this show, but I bet its a hoot!! I love Amy Poehler!! Hope you can get your fingers and toes warmed up today! Good luck getting your filing cabinet all neatly organized, it is something that I should do also! I can't remember the last time I went through it. Bet there is lots I could be chucking into the recycle bin!

Felis - I wish I could give you a big hug!! I am sorry that you are feeling so lonely! I am sure this is a hard day for many others too! Know that we all love you here!! What a lovely and romantic story for your sister!! I hope that you are right with your prediction!! As for what I listen to on my waterproof headset, well I have a real mixed assortment of music... Billy Joel, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Maroon5, Queen, Huey Lewis, Paul Simon and Taylor Swift. So I have plenty of great music!! Always looking for more though.

Nancy - Wow what a great birthday you had!! Your Devils won their game for you too!! :thumb: How wonderful that your knees are holding up so well, you must be so happy! A pretty fabulous start to a new year for you!! I do hope that the temps get warmer where you are and that you and Luther can get outside for a bit! Oh and I love that question that you asked about not being able to take a camera to the Rock yet others all have cameras on their cell phones!! So they never gave you an answer to your question?? Oh are you as excited as me for Outlander to start again this Sunday??

Kay - My goodness you were a very busy gal yesterday! No wonder your poor foot is bothering you again today! What wonderful kids you have to give you such a lovely gift and take you out for lunch! Now it sounds like you have lots of reading to do to keep you busy!

Ok its time to hit the shower and get dressed, then I have to think about what to have for dinner tonight. Ugh!! I think I will take a little walk in the sunshine today and pick up the mail at the box. I don't think that the sunshine is supposed to last too long, so I should get the fresh air while I can. Have a lovely day everyone and a great weekend too!

Good morning ladies. We won't be going out to celebrate Valentine's Day tonight. We'll order in something or I might go pick up a dinner package at our local butcher shop. They always put on a special with baked potatoes, steak and prawns. I'll figure it out later. We'll stay home and relax, watch a few movies on the android box. It'll be a quiet night.

We saw the acct last night. Looks like D only has to get a few more things together but I had all of mine. Looks like I'll probably pay about the same as last year so no surprises. We talked a little about retirement and we'll go see him as we get closer to that as there are a few different tax options for us to figure out.

Chris - I've never seen Parks and Rec but I know it had a great cast. I bet your potato soup was yummy.

Felis - that is an exciting trip for your sister and of course even more exciting if she gets engaged. That would be so romantic, I agree. Hugs to you for feeling lonely. I don't feel lonely but at this time of the year I feel a bit down b/c of the yucky weather. I hate the stretch of time between Jan-Apr, when the weather finally starts to improve.

Nancy - sounds like a wonderful way to spend your birthday. Glad your knees were ok.

Kay - sounds like a good plan to keep the foot elevated and rest it today. I'll have to watch for the new Kay Hooper books, I read her too. How sweet that you got flowers.

I'm getting to work now, will run errands later and figure out dinner for us. Tomorrow I head out to grandson's GF's baby shower. I can't wait to see her. She's due at end of March and I haven't seen her since the fall so am looking forward to seeing the little momma-to-be and take photos. If she feels up to it, next wkend we'll go out for the afternoon and I'll take a bunch of pics of her and Mitchell. This will be my first great grandbaby.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. I'm out of here...
