I am so happy, our tree is beautiful!!!! We had a perfect day yesterday, just wonderful!
Scott wanted to get a fraiser fir this time since he did his research and found that they have better scent and needle retention. Good to have a kid who knows what he is talking about. Usually we get the douglas fir and they have to longer needles so they look fuller. But the one we got is nice and big. (I pushed for this particular one, Gary thought it was too big, and it looked much smaller outside. But shhhh, don't tell him I said that). We did our usual "Look at this one!" "No, it is flat on one side." "How about that one?" "Nope, missing branches in the middle." but eventually agreed.
We put on music and Santa hats, even on the dogs when we could. Caitlyn and Scott took pictures but I haven't seen any yet except the one Scott posted on FB of them.

Then as we watched our movie, I kept look at the family, then the tree and just felt so happy.

Today is back to the real world, and I have to go clean today. It's all good since I don't have any plans in the afternoon, I can relax here with some tea or coffee.

What good stuff do you all have today?
Is everyone having a good time with the party?

xoxo!

PS: To anyone who is reading this, *please* hop on in and say hi!

nancy- it is so cold up here too. The wind woke me up several times last night. Hope that you have your nice heated coat all ready for your walk with Luther today. How did your Devils do last night? Good luck to them tonight too.

Rae- it is colder by you than us, we are right at 30* now. Brrr!! I reminded Gary to turn the outside water off but he hasn't done it yet. And to think Trudy is worried about melting into a puddle. Bah humbug! LOL
I am seeign thatis is supposed to get *very* cold all across North America next week. Better find my electric blanket!

jean- oh no!!!! That is not a good way to wake up with no heat. Ihoep they were able to get if fixed quickly. That is another thing I had told Gary- our furnace is due for servicing. The basement is his realm of responsibitly and he hasn't made the appt for that either. Grr. Hope that the snow/cold isn't isn't as bad as they are predicting.

NancyP- glad that my happiness spread a bit to you. I think one thing about all four of us being so sick, is that we get the battle each other is going through. It made us a lot closer and made us appreciate the little things that we do together. I am sorry that you lost your love :(
Do you have any LOs done of your snowmen? I would love to see them!

Oh man, I really need to get unwrapped frommy Linus blanket and get ready for work.
Love and warm thoughts to everyone!

good morning - it is the coldest and today we have wind maybe even 40mph - so wind chill will be bad. My DH left for work early so Luther has been craving his walk and he is having to wait a bit. Doing laundry so I have something clean to wear to the Devils hockey game this evening. As for my Devils our Head Coach Hynes is learning that you not only have to try a beat a team you also have to beat the ref calls. I am going to rant because the game was in Montreal and their goalie Price was MVP 2015 and was injured most of 2016. Their player forced my player into Price in the crease. Price was incensed and with his blocker attacked my Devil Kyle Palmieri and hit him many times. It is a match penalty when a goalie uses his blocker to attack but no the refs don't call that so Price stays in the game. My team completely feel apart and lost 5-2. This is the second game in which the refs have not called a fair game for my team. And to make me even madder the analysts on the TV were laughing at my player be punched. It is totally disappointing. But I have yet to see if the Players Safety Dept. is going to come down on Price. My team plays tonight against the St. Louis Blues and my team does much better at home than on the road. OK rant is over. Luther and I had great morning walk.

Chris your day sounds delightful! It is nice that Scott is developing so much knowledge on plants and trees. Hope the cleaning goes fast and enjoy the weekend.

Rae wow I am seeing the weather reports for all the bad weather coming your way! Saw your page and it was awesome congrats on recognition. You are busy with your challenges. But we will be getting it soon!

Jean OH NO the furnace problems. It just never stops with a house. I have a space heater and it makes me so happy and warm.

NancyP the thought of decorating with snowmen is so cute! Hope you do a page with them so we can see! Have fun at your daughter's!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, good morning!!! WE HAVE SNOW!!!! Watched the first snow plow of the season drive by my house last night. And the BIG one is coming Monday from the big storm heading our way. It's 27 out now and the sun is shining and I am so glad I don't have to go anywhere today.

Chris: sounds like such a perfect day, yesterday. Never heard of a fraiser fir. Have to check it out. Back when I did trees, we always had douglas firs. Hope you got photos of you all in your Santa hats decorating the tree. What fun!!!

Nancyr: Does Luther like to walk in the snow? I just let Cupcake out in the back yard to run during the winter. People are not good at keeping their sidewalks clean and I am so afraid of falling. She loves the snow and I can't get her back in the house. Then I have to put a few inches of warm water in the sink and stick her in there to get the snow off her feet and face. She loves to bury her face in the snow!

Having so much fun with all the Advent challenges. Really appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes with one of these. I use to CT for a digi site and remember all the work we had to do when we did something like this, but it was also lots of fun.

Not much planned for today. Cooking for Shabbat tomorrow and maybe, going to see my Landlord. He talked me into helping him and his girlfriend design their kitchen and living room. I am a retired Interior Designer and like staying RETIRED!!! But I told him I would help him. Got the sample board ready, but still waiting for the last couple fabric samples to come in that I ordered. Really don't like going out unless I know how the roads are. He lives WAY out in the country!!!

So, wishing you all the best Friday ever!! Stay warm!!!!

Good morning, ladies. Woke up to snow starting to fall. There is something magical about early morning snow, everything is clean, white, quiet. Hubs and I sit in the kitchen in the morning, I drink coffee and read e-reader, he drinks coffee and reads newspaper. We both look out at the birds coming to the suet feeder hanging off the porch. This morning we were watching 2 flickers squawking at each other for turns at the feeder and one would feed while the other would lay down on the porch railing and puff the feathers out, looking like it was pouting. So cute to watch.Took Taz out for a walk along the river path. Only saw one other person and dog. It was so peaceful. Took some pics and will get a couple onto facebook in a few minutes. Not sure how much snow we'll get today and if it will turn to rain at some point. No one really knows. They predict anywhere from 3-15". We're a higher elevation but not the highest in our area so I'm guessing we'll get about 6-8" by tomorrow but if the rain comes, it will dampen it down and clear some up. We'll see. If it's still pretty out later, I'll get out for a few more pics. Taz will enjoy it.

Chris - glad it was so much fun to put up your tree. You guys always have fun together. Don't overdo it today with the cleaning job.

Nancy - That sucks about the game ref and they lost last night. If my mom were still alive, she would just love reading about your trips and hockey pages you make. She was a die-hard Canucks fan (and Detroit too b/c she was from Ontario) and lived and breathed hockey. We used to buy her all the memorabilia and she never missed a game, either watching or listening. Your stories remind me of her. Thank you for that.

NancyP - interior designer, what an interesting career you had. I love watching decorating shows but have no talent for it (although I'm good with color). If you go out into the snow, be careful.

Darrell's sprained ankle is slowly improving. It's been good for him to stay home for a few days and rest with his foot up, in his lazyboy chair.

I see that my photos have loaded. I'll be back to share one of Taz on our walk this morning. BRB.

Happier today! Furnace was fixed, not much snow at our house though lots nearby, and the sun is shining more or less. Have things that need doing so should get to it.

Chris, another happy day for you! Hope cleaning goes well and you last it out. Hope you get that furnace appt. and water shut off outside. We missed the latter part because of the dripper to our bird bath.

Nancy, saw the Devils score (boo hoo) but didn't know about the mayhem. Hate it when refs don't seem to being doing their job or at least correctly. Good luck to them tonight.

NancyP, hope the roads are good when you drive out to landlord's place. I don't like winter roads much either. Hope they appreciate your efforts. I'm enjoying the Advent here too. Glad for all the work the CheeriOs and all are doing.

Rae, and you're one of the elves making it happen. Sounds like a lot of weather for you. Sure hope it is all good and Darrell gets better quickly. Look forward to your photos. -- Just saw Taz in the snow. What a super picture!

Wishing a great weekend to all.
