Daily Ooos: Friday, December 6

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning!! How are the O-zies all doing today?

I am *not* celebrating that it is Friday today. :ignore1: This week is going by way too quickly and I am starting to stress big time about not having much of anything accomplished. The "old-timer" Ooos will recognize this and I hear Rae reminding me that I always get it done. And I do. It's that stressing about it now is... let's say it is part of the process. Yeah. That makes it sound like a completely healthy way to approach this. Who is with me? :highfive:

I was able to get a few things done yesterday. Work on plans for the field trip and for next week's HS session. Paid some bills, baked two batches of magic bars, and made homemade soup in the instant pot. I did a vegan copycat of Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana and it was very yummy. The fake Beyond Meats are surprisingly good. I sauteed the sausage in the IP, then added vegetable broth, onions, and potatoes. When that was done, I added spinach and almond milk. I am bringing that to work today for my lunch. I have a feeling I will need it to warm up. It's going to be brutal out there but Lauren and I adapted as much as possible to do inside the classroom.

I am a tiny bit excited about the field trip today-- this is the HS Pod that will be coming every month and then in the spring twice a month. Ok, Ok... I am more than a tiny bit excited. I am nervous, sure, but I am eager to be working with the kids and seeing plans come into existence. Even when they mostly bomb, it's rewarding to see them IRL, not only in my head.

That's about it today, I have to be there at 9. Kids are coming 10-2 and I should hopefully be home drinking tea by 3 pm.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Friday!
:friday:

hello ladies
all i can do is read as typing as be come difficult. wednesday night i went out to feed the ducks. it was dark and i tripped over cord that is supplying us with temporary power till they fix the underground cable. i did a face plant onto the patio. i put my arm out ouch. i could not get up so took ambulance ride to hospital. xray -no break , scan - no brain bleed cleaned up my face. they think i tore muscles, seeing my joint dr on monday. i have more pain than when my other shoulder was replaced. i took some pain pills so was sick all day yesterday. the muscle spasms are miserable. sleeping in a recliner is not fun.

Oh No Debby!!! I'm so sorry hear this! Sending you big healing hugs! :hug4: :heartpumpred::heartpumppink:

AND, as much as I would like a big snow for taking pics.....I like having a white Christmas.....BUT, I still want it to go away the next day.
I am so with you! If it has to snow on Christmas, (and I wish it doesn't but it does look pretty) it must be done before people have to drive here. Once we had to cancel Christmas with the grandparents because the weather was terrible. My ILs came up very early and left as soon as they saw the kids open a few gifts. My parents came up the next day when the roads were better.

I hate that you are having to deal with the abx. Continued prayers for you as they work to clean your systems and make you better.....eventually! :hug3:
Thank you so much - hopefully, the "eventually" won't be too long ♥

Yesterday was a GOOD DAY... talked to DD#1 once and to DD#3 twice. Always enjoy hearing from them
That's wonderful! Is DD#1 getting ready for her surgery? That is happening soon, IIRC?? Good thoughts to her. (And I hope that I have the DD and info correct, my brain/memory is still on the fritz)
My mom was talking about the "new" NR books. She didn't realize the first one had come out and wanted to read that before the 2nd one was ready.
Yes, Chris... the books win out! Will go the sale first thing tomorrow morning (it starts at 9AM), then will head to the base to get meds and do the commissary run. Hope I can get it all done before going home and weekend traffic starts. I will be uploading a couple more LOs later on today - new releases. Oh... I also got a Standing O for the Day 4 LO!!! :girldance:

good luck today and Congrats on the SO!!!!

Good Morning to You! Good Morning to You! Good Morning Everybody! Good Morning to You!
That song is going to be stuck in my head all day! :rotfl:
Any news on your car yet?
Hope you had a wonderful at the concert too.

Good morning!
Please, who ever stole my winter please please send it back! Its been raining for two days now with almost 40*!! Its nasty yucky and the snow is half gone! :sad2:
TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
25* right now and it feels like 2* :cold:
It isn't supposed to get any warmer either. I mean, technically- up to 29* but big whup (whoop/woup?)
I had no idea. Thank you for explaining. I know if probably feels like all you do is explain and it can feel old but I appreciate learning what youre going through as I have no idea. I've heard of Lyme but not in detail. I can see now why you were reluctant to start this long process. When you say long term is that months or life long term? Prayers for the meds kicking in quick and you can feel better to enjoy the holidays. :heartpumppink:
Treatment depends often on how quickly you get diagnosed and how you contract it. If you get a tick bite and start abx immediately then it clears the body pretty easily. We think that I got it from Gary (it is a spirochete/cousin to syphilis and passes the same ways) and subsequently passed it to the kids in utero. Crazy, right?
When you have it for a long time, the bacteria goes into hiding- the spirochetes drill into tissue and then can change into the other the two different forms I was talking about. I was diagnosed in 2008 but had been in "remission" since 2018? 2019? It's a blur LOL
I had been getting positive blood tests for the last 2 years but when LLMD noticed my heart rate skyrocketing when I sat up, that made me admit (very, very reluctantly) that I had been aware that POTS was back. Along with other symptoms I had been ignoring.
When you say long term is that months or life long term?
Yes. Hahahaha!
It is both. :D TY for rthe good thoughts and prayers.
Oooh yum!! Your chicken sounds delish!!

@bcgal00 Thats so awesome that you are watching videos to get ready for the class tomorrow. I hope that yuu get a chance to learn a bunch of new techniques and keep making beautiful jewelry!

. Try to relax today, don't do too much (I don't know why I say that b/c you don't listen LOL).
Who me??????????

:exitroom:

Good Morning ladies!! It is another foggy and chilly day. Yesterday's hike was wonderful as the sun was shining brightly and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We hiked over 11km and my legs were very tired at the end of the day! There were 21 of us for the hike and we were a very loud and chatty group :giggle4: . It was good for the soul to be around my group of hiking buddies!
Sounds wonderful!!! That's a "good" tired.
I am sending good thoughts to Heather that the kids get back to school soon! I bet the kids are much happier about the snow and snow days than she is *winks*

Kay, the tree guy is a keeper! Glad he was quick and thorough! And now I won't worry about you slipping or bending too much trying to pick up all of the plums next year :D

Chris @faerywings so sorry you have to be back on the meds with the expected crummy reactions! Could we try to do bright side and say that means they're working, and at least you're not dragging an IV pole around. :duckdown:Like Cait's idea that two is good.
Thank you and yes, that is exactly what made me go ahead with the meds. (again. ugh.... and blergh...) Gary suggested that I suck it up now, hit it hard, and hopefully be back on track soon. He reminded me how sick I was back then. Nope, I don't want to go back to that. Not to mention, my IV pole is being used to hang up Caitlyn's wedding dress :floorlaugh:

have a fab day, my lOves!!

Oh, Debby! I am sending you gentle hugs. So many good thoughts that the pain eases up soon. xoxo

Quick in and out this morning. Had a bad restless night. Asleep at 10PM... woke up at 12:45PM. Was dreaming about signing in for the Day 6 Chain Scraplift Challenge so got up and checked in here. Yep... the Post for Day 6 was posted at 12 PST so signed in for it. Took a quick look at Susie's gallery. Then back to bed to toss and turn and drift in and out of sleep the rest of the night. Just woke up at 6:30AM feeling really tired. I have to head over to the local library for the sale by 9AM for the book/dvd sale. I will do the sale but don't think I am up to doing the trip to the base after that.

Oh, Debby... so sorry to hear about your fall and the ambulance ride to the ER!!! Sending healing thoughts your way!

Yes, Chris... you did remember correctly... DD#1 is having her foot surgery next Wednesday.

Time to get dressed and finish my cup of coffee. BBL

Morning ladies and Happy :friday: Not that today is any different than any other day, at least for me it isn't :giggle4:. Today I have to go to MIL's church to pick up the poinsettia that I ordered for a fund raiser. I might wander around some of the stores and see what I can find in the way of stocking stuffers for everyone. I tried all afternoon to get MIL & FIL's Calendar loaded up to the printers, but there was something going on with the website and it kept kicking me off the site! So frustrating :stupicpc:. I thought maybe it was my new computer that was having issues, but I tried every electronic device in the house and had the same thing happen. I suppose I will try again today, if it still is not working then I will have to put the calendar on a stick and take it there myself. I made a couple of Christmas Cards and now have to make the envelopes for them. It should be another busy weekend with my Gary, as he needs to look for stocking stuffers too and we have some other running around to do, but hoping that Sunday will be a more of a rest and relaxation type of day. Perhaps I can get some things wrapped for Christmas. Sure hope everything fits in our suitcases, as we will have to bring lots of warm and bulky clothes too. Please, Please don't let the weather be bad when we have to fly and our DD and family are on the road to join us for Christmas!!

I am right there along side of you Chris!! I always stress out about getting things ready for Christmas, even though I know that it will all get done! Yes, its just part of the process!! I think I will make my DH take care of the Christmas planning next year, he will have lots of time on his hands right?!! :lol23:. We both know that won't happen!! Glad to hear how excited you are about your field trip today!! I hope everything turns out great and that the weather is not as cold as it sounds like, take hand warmers, they sure help!!

Ohhh my goodness Debby!! We are going to have to wrap you in bubble wrap alongside of @vickyday!! So sorry you took such a bad fall!! I am sending you all the gentle healing hugs that I can muster up!! :hug4::hug2::hug1:.

Ughh on the terrible nights sleep Kay!! I hope you don't fall asleep at the book sale today! Probably not a good idea to go get your things at the base, you should just come home and try to take a nap!! Hope you find some great books/DVD's!!

@mimes1 - I love your new AVI!!

Waving Hi :wavinghello:to @bcgal00, @vickyday , @AK_Tracy and anyone else who pops in here today! Have a great day everyone! :waving3:

O happy day!!!! Its Friday! Not that it matters as it just means tomorrow I gotta work.

It's that stressing about it now is... let's say it is part of the process. Yeah. That makes it sound like a completely healthy way to approach this. Who is with me? :highfive:
Its female DNA! We have to stress as part of the process. 100% normal. If youre to stressing is it even a holiday month?

Oh my gosh Debby!!!! This sounds horrible. I am glad nothing broke. I'm with Trudy and we're gonna bubble wrap you. You and Vicky will be side by side in bubble wrap. I hope youre able to get some sleep and all goes well at the dr Monday.

We think that I got it from Gary (it is a spirochete/cousin to syphilis and passes the same ways) and subsequently passed it to the kids in utero. Crazy, right?

I had no idea. No idea that it could be transferred that way. I'm so sorry. I'm glad youre on meds though as it sounds like last time was way worse and we dont want you doing that again.
Quick in and out this morning. Had a bad restless night.
That sounds miserable! I swear when you toss and turn like that its almost easier to just get up and stay that way then to try and pretend to sleep.

Hi @taxed4ever Trudy!!! I wanna hear how that goes! Letting hubs be in charge of things next year!! will be fun to see how that goes. (insert laughing emoji, cant get them to load). I told hubs (again) that I want him to plan, and execute a weekend away. That's what I want for Christmas. Also said it had to be of interest to me, winter camping is NOT an option.

Off to grab some coffee and check out the gallery. So many fun December themed layouts. Its fun but I know I missed a bunch as its moving fast in there.
Have a great day!

Happy :friday:
Except that I am like Trudy in that it is really just another day for me! I love retirement! I'm sure @taxed4ever does, too! ;)
Mark and I went to breakfast this morning and on the way out we stopped at the PO so I could mail the acrylic stamps a gal purchased from me. I gave her a deal and then said I would ship free! What was I thinking?!!! I will not do that again! I basically paid her to take the stamps! Lesson learned and I let her know I would not be doing free shipping with her again.....she has bought other stuff from me. Anyway.......

Today I will be doing laundry. In between loads I will work on Event challenges. I have not done my daily ATCs for over a week, either, so I need to catch up on those at some point. I also need to catch up on my monthly reviews.....last half of October and all of November and start on December. At some point I need to make a grocery list because we will be pot lucking at church on Sunday for lunch and on Wednesday for supper. Still no word on the car, so Mark will have to take me to the grocery store. Lovely!!!

My last Aunt on my dad's side died yesterday. I'm sad about that as I was probably closest to her of all of dad's siblings. We still communicated by letter once or twice a month. I wondered why she had not answered my last letter. My cousin notified me yesterday that she had passed yesterday. A sudden illness and she was admitted to hospice care on Monday. So I'm glad she did not suffer long!

The temp is COLD today and not going to get out of the 30's! BRRRR! Mark is in the woods chopping wood to stay warm, LOL! I'm doing laundry to stay warm! Which one is the smartest, I ask? ;)

OK, have a wonderful Friday!

I hear Rae reminding me that I always get it done. And I do.
I agree with @AK_Tracy ..... it must be in our DNA because I do the same thing.......and I always get everything done that I stressed about not getting done!
Even when they mostly bomb, it's rewarding to see them IRL, not only in my head.
I agree! Live and learn to correct the errors! Better to try and fail than to never try and never succeed.......or something like that!
I should hopefully be home drinking tea by 3 pm.
I hope you stayed warm and had a successful HS session!
i tripped over cord
Oh no, Debby! Prayers for quick healing!
If it has to snow on Christmas, (and I wish it doesn't but it does look pretty) it must be done before people have to drive here.
Since we do our Christmas gathering in January, I'm OK with snow on Christmas! But I hope if it snows in your area that it is gone before everyone has to travel!
That song is going to be stuck in my head all day! :rotfl:
Any news on your car yet?
Hope you had a wonderful at the concert too.
HA! I knew the song would stick! ;). Sorry.....not sorry! :rotfl:
No news on the car! :furious:
The concert was wonderful! A group of kids, literally, got together and are going around area churches playing Christmas hymns. There were 2 violinists, one violist, one cellist, and one pianist. They played 7 songs.....Sussex Carol, What Sweeter Music, In the Bleak Midwinter, Once in Royal David's City, Carol of the Bells, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, and For Unto Us a Child is Born. They are calling themselves "Christmas String Ensemble" and are really good. One young man, who played the viola and the rest were girls.
back to bed to toss and turn and drift in and out of sleep the rest of the night. Just woke up at 6:30AM feeling really tired.
You may need to take a couple of naps today, Kay! ;)
something going on with the website and it kept kicking me off the site! So frustrating :stupicpc:.
I'll bet you weren't the only one having problems......this time of the year and others trying to get projects uploaded for getting printed!
Please, Please don't let the weather be bad when we have to fly and our DD and family are on the road to join us for Christmas!!
Sure hope you have good weather, Trudy! When are you leaving?

Good morning ladies. I'm hopping in the shower in a minute and then get out for a walk with Remi. I'll be leaving after that to meet up with friends at our big local xmas market. I'm excited to go b/c I was at their fall harvest market which was fantastic and this one will be 2-3 times bigger as they open up more buildings for vendors. Then I'll head into Calgary to look for a zippered bag to store my magnifier/light. I want to take it with me to class tomorrow so need the glass protected. I have a small measuring tape in my purse to measure with. Then I need groceries to put together chili, rice and veggies for dinner tomorrow for game day.

@faerywings Have fun with the class today.

@BoatLady Oh no, Debby...rest and heal. That sounds awful. I face planted a few days ago but luckily it was in the snow so other than a bit of soreness I'm fiine. Sorry to hear you took such a bad tumble.

I need to get going. HAGD everyone.

Well, it was a good trip... ended with 2 books, 8 DVDs and 4 music CDs from the library. Then did a stop at the Friends of Literacy used book/etc store. 2 more DVDs and wonder of wonders... bought a HB of Inheritance by Nora Roberts!!! Yes, it the same book got from the library so now I have my own copy to add to my collection!!! :wow: :banana8::banana7: I was worn out so came on home. Fixed a bite to eat and then did some scraping. Got my Day 6 Chain Scraplift Challenge LO done and uploaded - plus another LO by Mystery Scraps!! I should at least get the DVD titles added to my DVD notebook. Now I need to rest - will probably fall asleep. BBL
