TGIF! Happy Dec 4! I will post this quickly since Cait and I are heading to the vet to drop off my Livvie for her surgery in a bit. There was a road closure on the main road up the mountain and if we get caught in a detour it will take us miles out of our way. As of now, Waze shows it is clear but there aren't too many cars out and about just yet.

Yesterday was a bang-up of a day and not in a good way. It wasn't "bad" so to speak, it was just challenging. LOL It started with the coffee butter scrubs not emulsifying properly which meant I had to start (sort of) from scratch, add some more e-wax and candelilla wax to the mixture. That made it feel a bit greasy so I had to add some cosmetic grade corn starch to take the tackiness out. The good news is that I had plenty of jars but because I had to scrape out the first mixture, then refill them they are super oily on the outside. It is going to take me forever to get them cleaned up so the labels will stick. That took me most of the morning and early afternoon. Oh -- and in the meantime of that, my poor hands are so stiff that I knock over the jar of the fragrance oil and spilled a bunch of it on the counter. It is a Coffee fragrance so at least the house smells delicious. Last year I spilled a floral scent and I really don't like strong floral.
I finished another row of the scarf and all of the tentacles of the squid, plus one eye. finished up with some homemade pumpkin soup and croutons. Cait grabbed a bowl to eat while she was having her class and then sent me a video of Olivia stealing a crouton from her bowl and living the life as she licked and nibbled at it.

I didn't get time to scrap yesterday since I spent double what I planned on the scrubs. Boo. I still want to do the art doll challenge today. Gotta stay focused!

I will be back for personals in a while. hugs!

I am back from the vet, finished another cup of coffee, and wish I knew what to do about Scott for Christmas. I texted Leah a few minutes ago, maybe she will have an idea.

Rae- On our way to the vet, Caitlyn asked if she could send some of the rat stickers that she makes to Bailey for the holidays? If you think that she would like them, can you PM me an address? She said that she has shipped to Canada and it isn't much more since it is in a regular envelope. She remembers that B loved seeing the rats in my LOs and thought it might make her smile.
Take good care of your back when you head out tomorrow.

Vicky- Oh my goodness! Is your DHs hand doing ok? Gary's family has a "thing" with saws and fingers. His g-pa cut the tip off of one finger, so did his dad. Then before we were married, his brother cut off one finger and half of a second. (Both reattached!!). He cut the tip off of his thumb- a slice off of the meaty part. So when Caitlyn called us after school one day to tell us that Scott cut the tip of his finger off on the school bus, we basically said "Officially a Campbell now!" (His finger was fine too, just needed a trip to the ER and some glue, but there was an open fan blade on the floor of the bus and when he put his backpack down he got quite the slice. )
Anyway! I am glad that no one got seriously hurt and that his hand heals up super quickly!
That pattern looks so darn pretty and the yarn seems soft. Gorgeous work!

Kay- I love that challenge and I really hope to get to scrap it today! Can't wait to see yours. I hope that it isn't as cold today as it was yesterday. Good to hear that DD#1 is home and is quarantining. Stinks that she has to but so smart that she is. NJ hit a record number of cases yesterday- more than in May at our worse. Not good. :(
Yay for DD#2!!!!

Cheryl- Batty is a great name for a bat. Have I ever told you about the pet rabbit Caitlyn had? Her name was Bunny. GMTA!!!
So exciting to see some of the progress in the house.
If you haven't done it yet, I think CTRL-F5 will take care of the gallery avi issue.

Felis- Caitlyn loves Middleton too! (No surprise)
What a perfect and fun gift for your mom! Sewing is 100% NOT my thing but Caitlyn and her Nana are so good at it. That is such a sweet thing that she wanted to recreate her feelings with you.

Trudy- So in spite of it all, you ended up getting the calendars printed anyway! :D Actually, it makes a lot of sense, the fewer trips anyone has to make is a good idea.
Hope today is slightly calmer/slower for you!

Hugs!

Morning ladies... Foggy, Foggy morning out there! I have already been to the gallery and started to ohhh and awww at all the gorgeousness there! Wow there are some talented scrappers out there! Hope that today will be less busy, but I doubt it LOL. I got my order in too late at Staples and now will have to pick it up today instead of yesterday afternoon. :mmph: Oh well I need to get a bigger box to put the presents in anyway, so I will pick that up there as well this morning. Trying to spend as much time as I can here to be present for this day's challenge. I have swimming this afternoon too and I will have to drop off the parcels at the post office before that. I think that after today I should be able to just relax and have fun at the 12 Days of Christmas here. (you think that will happen??)

Chris - Keeping my fingers crossed that your Livvie will be just fine after her surgery! I guess the road closure did not affect your driving time to the vet! Hooray!! Sorry you had such a hassle with your butter scrubs, but I bet your house smells amazing! Isn't your Caitlyn just the sweetest young woman! How wonderful of her to be thinking of Rae's sweet Bailey! You have raised her well my friend! Hope you get to do the challenges today! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Rae - Hope that you are enjoying your Christmas Decorating and that you had a great face time with Bailey! How wonderful that you can make her feel like she is participating! How was your visit to the Bird Sanctuary? Hope you got some great shots and that you did not aggravate your back at all.

Vicky - OMG I hope your DH is ok! Bet he always makes sure his gun is empty before cleaning it from now on!! Your knitting is beautiful! Such a lovely pattern! My mother used to do throws like that and I still have a couple of them. Love them!!

Kay - I will have to check out your Art Doll today, I really want to do that challenge today also!

Cheryl - Your Ava sounds pretty special! What a different lifestyle you all have now! Its amazing to be so much closer to nature! Can't wait to see the final results of your house, bet you can't either LOL.

Felis - How lovely that your Mother wants to share her happiness of sewing with you and your sister! I hope that she gets many years of sewing pleasure from her Christmas Gift! I love your Middleton too! So cute and so are you!! Thanks for sharing your photos with us!

Ok Heather and Hunter will be calling soon and I need to get dressed and get to Staples right after their call. Have a wonderful day everyone! Stay safe!!

Howdy, so sorry I haven't been around much. So much going on, too much to write. Have been having some physical problems this week, not severe, so managed to keep scrapping. I did the fun Dress the Doll Challenge then realized I hadn't read the rules completely thinking it was like a normal challenge. Anyways, used my own art doll (retired) so couldn't enter it in the challenge. But, posted it anyways, but just to the gallery. It was a lot of fun.

Still haven't heard from my sick friend in the nursing home; it's been a month. She always called me twice a week. I've tried contacting everyone I know, that might know how she is, but no response from her sister or anyone. I've left calling the rehab home where she is a patient until the very last, as they aren't very friendly on the phone to non-family members. And, of course, they are super busy. I did email them. So will give it a couple more days before calling.

Rain here today, rather than the snow that was predicted. Supposed to be back in the fifties on Sunday so I'm going with my son and daughter-in-love on a video trek.

Chris, I hope your Livvie will be okay.

Trudy, I agree, we have some awesome layouts coming through the gallery. I'm lovin' it. Hope you manage to get your Staples order today. Have fun swimming, that always sounds like such fun!! ♥

Good morning ladies. Have been supervising Jen as she pulls out the Xmas bins from the under the stairs storage area.

Trudy - haven't put up the tree yet. Will get get started tomorrow and it'll probably take me all wkend, off and on. Tomorrow is the visit to Reifel.

Chris - sent you a PM. Glad you house smells like coffee this yr, not floral LOL.

I'm going to scrap later, get a few challenges done. Looking forward to it.

I'd better go, got lots of little things on the go today so want to work hard this morning so I can go easier this afternoon. Want to make sure my body is as rested and relaxed for my early morning trip to the sanctuary. I will bring my light lens so not as good a zoom as my usual birding lens but much lighter to carry so its a good compromise.

Enjoy your day, I'll be looking thru the gallery later at the challenge pages. BFN

Oh, it has been a busy week... so many challenges to do... LOs to be made.... but at least it keeps me busy and my mind involved. Oh, the Chain Scraplift challenge is off to a great start - lots of participants signing up already.

I had to pick-up the new Nora Roberts - The Awakening - at the library. They are open only for hold/pick-ups right now. There wasn't anyone there except for me and 2 librarians. Had to stop at the bank drive-thur to deposit a check. Was going to stop at the grocery store by the bank but the line was over a block long [only allowed 75 customers @ 1 time]. So went over to the produce store and pick up the fresh veggies for salad makings [yum...yum...yum]. Guess I will have enchiladas again in a few days as avocados were on sale. Stopped next door at $Tree for some spices and snacks. Drove past the grocery store that I usually go to and the line was almost as long as at the other store so didn't even try to go inside. It was hovering at freezing with a wind blowing even tho the sun is shining... so wind chill put it around 25*. Glad I had a heavy jacket on.

Betty Jo, so sorry you are having some physical issues right now. Hope you get to feeling better soon. LOL... love your Art Doll even if she is retired. Thanks for posting her LO so we could see her. Had a laugh as I almost missed seeing 100% OScraps items for the challenge. Know you must be worried about not hearing from your friend... hope you have success finding out what is going on.

Chris... must not have been any road delays as I see your got back from dropping the rat off at the vet already. Sorry the butter scrubs took longer to make and you had to tweak them some. I wouldn't mind smelling coffee fragrance as I love it... just sorry you spilled the oil.

Trudy, ugh... hate foggy weather. Hope it clears out soon. Yes, I am amazed at all the fabulous LOs that are filling the gallery. Been ohh-ing and ah-ing over them. I am trying to stay on top of the challenges/games as they are posted.. It is a fun time.

I missed breakfast - so the tummy is growling at me so better go feed it.

Good afternoon, Ooooozzziies. Another new one - these names just fly out of my fingers.

Chris, kids are so original, aren't they? What a great name for a rabbit. At least she didn't name it "Rabbit". Yes, our Ava is very special. I swear she can talk to the animals and they understand her. We made the big decision to let the little guy "Fred" go. My son'-in-law's brother Bill knows what to do with wildlife and he said that Fred wanted out of the barn. He was running around, looking for a way out. He said he was a wild creature and nature was letting him know that it was time to get out of that "cage". We honestly hope that he returns sometime in the future. We'll always be able to recognize that weird scar. Anyway, Bill opened the door, just to see what he'd do and he ran straight for it and away he went. Maybe he smelled his herd nearby. We're kind of sad, but we knew he wouldn't stay with us. Bill said he just needed a few days to rest and recuperate. We had blankets and food for him, so he was happy for a few days. Chris, stop sniffling.

Kay, that's crazy about the line around the grocery store! The $Tree is one of my favorite stores though and you can get lots of food in there. I hadn't been in one for months and months until a couple of weeks ago and I'd forgotten how much I loved that place!

Big news! We got a huge surprise last night - they actually finished our flooring and the granite was actually delivered! It's like our house was almost finished overnight! After SO many delays and disappointments, we didn't even take these deadlines seriously and BOOM! they happened! The album is getting mighty long, but if you want to see the new appliances (which aren't in yet) and my pictures from last night, here's the link: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...?key=cWZRZ1FVNlMtOGNoTE5FUmppdktWcXFOcms2WFhn Just scroll to the end - like I said, the album is getting huge!

Hope everybody is having a good day! Sun is shining here and the temp is 50. Not bad.

Hello girls, it was one of these 'nothing special' days! Except the big cleaning today, I'm mostly linger, listened Christmas music and watch the rain. It's dark and cold, it feels like more colder than when was snowing, I know it's not, but I still feels it at this way. The rain quickly eats the last remnants of snow and turned the yard into a small swamp, so I do not want to go or do anything.
I'm wondering between Miley Cyrus feminist version of ''Santa, baby!'' and Eartha Kitt's original version. I'm fan of Miley, but not so good feminist, so I think I prefer old fashioned flirty version. Miley's is really good too, especially in some points, but is not what I need for 2020 song scrap, it was accurate back then two years ago when she made it. So I hope to be able to finished this LO soon. I'm lost habits!

Chris, sending positive thoughts and healthy vibes for Livvie! Hope everything will gonna be alright! ITA with Trudy about Cait, this girl is so awesome, such a sweetie! Uhh, sorry for the double work on your scrubs!

Trudy, hope today everything is ready for send! WOW, are you sure they will be on time? Here everything come so slow this year.

Betty Jo, hope you're feeling better now! Oh, dear, it's happens to me all the time to misunderstood some LO instruction! Oh, dear, it's happens to me all the time to misunderstood some LO instruction! It's lovely page, anyway! Hope soon to have news from your friend!

Rae, enjoy your day! Hope weather to cooperate for your photos!

Kay, enjoy your reading!

Cheryl, love this granite color! Congrats! Does that mean that you'll clean and then directly decorate for christmas? Don't be sad about Fred, you'll see it again! When the winter's come bad he can bring even friends for some snack. But he belongs to the nature.

Nancy, I saw your lovely pages at the galleria, you really rocks this project, girl!

Jean, thank you so much for the link  and good luck with the sales!
Edit: OK, I visited the link and they have wonderful stuff! Absolutely love your "Found"!

good evening - I have been MIA and not because I wanted but because I have actually been doing my version of a deep clean in the house. It does feel good to have a clean house with the kids all coming tomorrow. OMgosh I am not sure what to do with these kids. They change the time and the food - it drives me crazy. I am not sure they are taking this resurgence seriously enough. But they have not had any symptoms since their Thanksgivings so I feel pretty safe as it has been about 10 days. Made a delish chorizo taco dinner. Had a nice conversation with my sister. I have been able to get some scrapping done. I do it as a reward for all my cleaning efforts.

Chris sure hope that Livvie did well with her surgery. Sorry about the coffee scrub. It is so hard to think of gifts for adult kids. I am having a hard time with that myself.

Trudy congrats on getting the calendar and printed and ready to mail off!

Kay was still cold. Glad that your DD arrived. Glad that NM is taking the surge so seriously. It is terrible though to see those lines for grocery store shopping again. But enjoy the reading!

Cheryl I went and saw the photos! Congrats! It looks so good! You must be so excited.

Rae hope the back is better and that decorating slowing will not aggravate it. We don't have black squirrels so I love your photos of him.

Jean I went to the website to see the pieces and they are lovely. Congrats!

Felis thanks so much for the mention of my pages. Sorry you are now getting rain. I find rain in the winter is so much colder than snow! I cannot sew. My mother made my clothes and she was so good! I wish I had her machine on old Singer.

Betty Jo I hope you feel better.

Have a great day!

Thanks, Nancy and Felis. I'm sure we'll see Fred again someday and if we don't, that's "nature's way".
