Ready.

Guess what I am doing today? One of my most favorite things in the whole, wide world.
Nope, not grocery shopping.
I am going to a mall.

uggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

I actually don't plan on going into the mall itself but to a few of the satellite stores in the center itself. The Christmas Tree Shop is my first one up and I want to be there as soon as it opens (9 am) . It is about 45 minutes from here so I want to get out of the house early. I am meeting my mom there, and then going to the sporting goods store to try on some sneakers. I need a new pair and because my feet are messed up I need to try them on with my orthotics to see how they feel. She wants to get them for me for Christmas so this works out.
But people. Shopping. Ugh.

I have some potentially happy news to share. Caitlyn sent me a video of one of the rat litters and I ended up texting back, ooohing and ahhing over them. Told her that I hoped I wasn't influencing her decision to adopt any. She texted back that she already had sent in an application. They won't be ready for 2-3 weeks but she might have some new babies before the holidays.

I am going to do some quick personals and then be on my way.
xoxo

@taxed4ever What a beautiful photo of your hike, I can practically hear and smell the water and trees!
Sorry that you couldn't use the Chromebook. It sucks that Macs are so expensive.
Men are really so dense when it comes to cleaning, aren't they? ;)
I made a bunch of candles and only one cratered a bit. I can give that one to my mom, she won't notice or care and it isn't like she can smell them anyway. Although, they do smell really good so far.

@LSlycord It would be really nice if the doctors could communicate better amongst each other. But -- the good news is that everything is on the right track for you. Enjoy the time off.

@bcgal00 I feel so bad for B, that girl has been through so much. I hope that she is able to get in and out before the holidays. Even more, I hope that she can get the meds tweaked and is able to feel a bit better. Tell her that I will have more rat photos to share.

@Cherylndesigns What is your secret about not waking up in the middle of the night? Even when I get a *really* good night's sleep it only means that I am able to get back to sleep after waking up a bunch of times.
Why are you torturing me with your temps?
Looking forward to seeing the wreaths when you are done, I am sure you will get everything to look awesome- even if it takes a few tries :)

@felis Sorry that you have BOO too. My brain is out of order more often than not. Good luck submitting photos on IG.
Thank you for not being offended by my questions and suggestions. I know that different cultures have different traditions and then within those traditions, there are people like me who don't always want to go along with them.
I have told my family that I don't want any special service-- go out in the woods and have a party in my honor. That would horrify my parents who have strict Catholic services planned.

@nancyr I hope I didn't jinx your DH with his rough morning yesterday
I didn't usually watch commercials since we DVR everything, but I will keep my eyes open for the iPhone commercials. That is really neat that you saw where it was filmed.

Now that I am running late b/c J threw up twice I really need to get going if I want to leave in an hour

Love and hugs!!

And yes, the party is starting, hope to have my avi up soon

Worked 9.45-6 yesterday. I'm super tired. Didn't make things better that John had a dentist appointment this morning at 8.30. I really wanted to sleep late today. Well ... It's Saturday tomorrow ... I'm going to sleep all day.

No other plans today then making bread and soup for me and Urban & pan cakes for John. Then TV, crochet and getting to bed early. Gee ... did I mention I'm tired??????

Good morning. Even if it Is a late good morning! I’m taking a few hours in the middle of the day. Most of my work has been transitioned so I said I would work early and then come back for the afternoon to answer any final questions. So taking some time to enjoy myself.

Got great news last night on Sydney’s college stuff. UCF provided her with her merit award last night. She received their highest award which is $7,500 each year. She already has Bright Futures which is 100% of tuition at any Florida state university for 4 years. Room and board is $10,300 so less than $3,000 a year. I am doing such a happy dance! Her first choice is still UF and they give no merit. So we will see what happens but for now I’m keeping my happy dance going. (And she had a pretty big smile herself!)

For those of you that don’t know me on Facebook, here is my big dilemma today. It is really a Florida only problem. Look at all of the lemons in my kitchen…and I have at least that many more remaining on my tree. I’ve been getting ideas all morning on how to use them.

@faerywings I agree on the whole mall thing. I hate shopping! Always did and the whole pandemic thing did nothing except to teach me that most of my needs can be addressed by Amazon! But the time spent with your mom will be priceless! I wish you good look today and hope you come home with a lot accomplished.

@bcgal00 I am sorry to hear about Bailey although with it requiring such a specialist and such a limited number of beds, getting in at any time must feel like a miracle.

@Cherylndesigns we too are having good weather. We are finally warming back up (@faerywings close your ears now) and it is expected to be 76 here today. Beautiful sunshine and really supposed to be pretty good for the rest of the month. I am going to get out and enjoy it for sure.

@felis, I had missed your post about your mom’s family member. I am so sorry for everything you are going through. So right now, health is good. What you missed is that they have diagnosed me with a valve that will need to be replaced in the next couple of years and it Will most likely need to be done through open heart surgery due to a congenital defect in my valve. But good news is that I found a doctor that I like and trust and for now, life goes on as normal.

@nancyr so sorry for your husband’s rough start to the day yesterday but grateful that yours was good.

@tanteva glad that tomorrow is Saturday and you can sleep in. Don’t we all need those days sometime?

@BrightEyes and Kay I love your new avatar! I’m off to create mine now!

Morning ladies... it is chilly here this morning, but there is also blue skies out there so that's a good trade off! I am off to the hairdresser this morning and then hope to come back and get my Christmas Avatar done. Loving the ones that I am seeing so far! @tanteva now how did I know that you would be a grinch fan ?? LOL. Seems like the days are just a blur lately and I still have so much to catch up on. I sure hope December does not go by too quickly. I really need to see my kids and grands again and I don't want their visit to go flying by! Anyway I am running behind, so I best get quick personals done and then get going.

@faerywings - How fun to have new babies!! Hope you get to see them before the Christmas Holidays! I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the Mall! Not my fav place either, hopefully it won't be too busy if you go first thing in the morning. I hope you can find the sneakers that you need and that they are comfy ones!

@bcgal00 - I know that it will be a pain to have to drive so far to see Bailey, but hopefully she will improve, once she is there! She has been through so much and so have all of you, you deserve some good news in your lives! Isn't it nice that the rain has stopped for a bit, now it is much colder, but at least the wet has ended!

@BrightEyes - Your Christmas AVI is a stunner!! Red is your colour!!

@tanteva - Love your Christmas AVI too, I am struggling to decide what to do for mine. Hope you will be able to rest up!

@LSlycord - Wow what exciting news for you and your beautiful daughter! That is so wonderful! No wonder you are doing the happy dance super-happy-dance-smiley-emoticon.gif I am dancing right along side of you! Wow that's a lot of lemons!! Perhaps some lemon meringue pie??

@felis - Sorry you are also feeling the Brain Fog! I hope that you are doing better today! Yes the boys are into their gaming that is for sure, but it is Mason who has the Nintendo Switch, but I did find a game that Isaac wants and got that ordered for him last night. Hopefully he will be happy with the choice!

@nancyr - Sure hope your DH is having a better day today! I have not seen that iPhone commercial either. I will have to look for it! Love a good funny commercial! Good for you for getting your Dec project started, wish you could send me some of your mojo, I am sadly lacking it right now!

@Cherylndesigns - Sure wish that I could get a good 8 hours of sleep without waking up two to three times a night! I might have to look whats out there to help me with that. Something natural, no sleeping pills!! I tried that once and UGHHHH they made me sick!

Ok I best get going, should be back in time to have lunch with my Gary and then some scrapping!! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. I'm off to a late start today. I was outside with the dogs, started chatting with my neighbor and she wanted to see pics of the owl (she never spotted it in the tree so was surprised to hear it had been there for hours) and then we started talking about the flooding. They don't have a sump pump and they are first time homeowners and their English is a bit limited so I'm not sure if she understood my explanation about the pump and why we had to use it. I am going to get Darrell to show them on the wkend what their drain/sewer is, take the lid off and explain how a pump works. I think they will want to get one. They had water damage last year and had to have renos so I'm pretty sure they would rather buy a pump than go thru all that again. They are such a lovely family. I am going to get a photo I took of the mom and her two girls printed, 8x10, and give it to them at Xmas. We always give each other little gifts.

It'll be a nice walk at the dog park today, no rain, and we'll meet Jen and Bella there at lunchtime. Tonight I can relax and scrap a bit, D is going out for a guys poker night, so I'll hang out in my office and scrap while watching shows on my tablet.

As for B, the struggle starts up today with the trauma unit, they now say it will be 1-2 months' wait and she is getting worse again so hopefully Jen can convince them to put her back on the Ritalin, at least until she gets into the unit. Ugh. Dealing with the doctors/government, all of it, is so draining. She has a ?cold but the clinic won't see her until she gets a covid test and they see the results. She's had all 3 vaccines so don't know why they won't see her. Chances are it is a cold/flu but also, the encephalitis mimics cold/flu symptoms so hopefully everything is ok. We are not taking her to the Xmas display tomorrow night, it's too risky with her triggering behavior having worsened these last few wks and now also having cold/flu symptoms. So, Jen and I will go to have a peaceful fun time together. Jen is really stressed right now.

@faerywings I just knew C was going to apply for the new babies :) Can't wait to see pics when she gets them and yes, of course, I'll show B, you know she is a fan of C's babies. I had a rough chat with her last night, she is triggering a lot and unhappy, so I have to remember to chat with her about that, it might bring a smile to her face.

I'd better get to work before I head out to the park. BFN

Wow, have been on the run already this AM. Out of the house by 8:30. Dropped off the water company bill at the library (so glad they have a drop box there so no need to mail it). Then drove over to the Loma Colorado city library (3 miles away) for their big sale on DVD's, CD's and books... for $1-$3! Only happens every 3 months or so. I really scored on the DVD's.... ended up with 12 singles and 1 6-disc album (Herman Wouk's -War and Remembrance - The Final Chapter mini-series).
super-happy-dance-smiley-emoticon.gif
Now I need to try to locate the 1st of that mini-series. I have the book so could go back and read it if I need a refresher on what went on. :D Also ended up picking up 4 'free' books, too. I need to get the new DVD's put in my inventory lists soon. So glad I had the inventory with me as I had picked up 3 DVD's and realized when checking the inventory that I already had them.
Oh, the forum is starting to look very festive with the new holiday avatars. :D @tanteva... Had to LOL over yours! ! ! Can't wait to see the rest of them. And tomorrow is the big DAY 1 Challenge. Whoo, whee, going to be fun playing with holiday themed ones. I might have to put some holiday music on while I work on them.

I had some pineapple tidbits left over from the Thanksgiving meal that needed to be used up. I fixed a Chicken/fruit salad... with pineapple bits, tangelos, apples, green bell peppers, and onions with a mayo/nutmeg dressing for supper last night. So good!!! The temps have been getting up into the high 60's so the summer type salad was perfect. Will be the same until next Tuesday then a cold front will drop the temps back down to normal (low 50's for highs).

Got to get busy on some scrapping as I am running behind. Will try to do personals next time.

We have those two (both series). Re-watched them just this summer. They're still really good, I think. Not all older series are good. I have the complete North & South too, in a DVD box. Loved it when I saw it on TV back then ... but not really dared to look at it again. Patrick Swayze <3

I'm in The Zone ~ The "O" Zone
CHEERY O
Good afternoon all. I slept in again this morning. A second straight night of wonderful sleep. I had that rare (for me) night 3 nights ago where I just could not sleep. I was up at 4 am filling out Christmas cards. LOL "They" say, when you can't sleep to get up and do something boring. I had been putting my cards off, so decided to work on them.

Chris @faerywings, how sweet about the rat litters. I can't even imagine how tiny they are. The rats you have are tiny enough. I worked on my wreath for a long time yesterday. I got a new one and really didn't like it, so I tore it all apart and re-worked a wreath that I already had. The wreath I re-worked isn't a Christmas wreath, but it's big and it looks like a Christmas wreath now. Well, it looks like a winter wreath, I guess - I'm planning on keeping it on the door after Christmas.

Linda @LSlycord your weather sounds like ours - it was 76 yesterday and is going to be 75 today. I've loved working outside this week. Last winter was an weird one - early snow and we got caught in that Polar Vortex. We're hoping for a "normal" winter this year.

I got my avi LO done but haven't posted it yet. I hope it looks ok in the "avi spot". I'm going to go upload it now.

Happy Friday!
