Happy Friday to all of you!
If there is anyone out there experiencing weather warmer than the 30's can you send it to the East Coast, please? Darn, it is another cold one with wind chills close to 0*. It is supposed to be slightly warmer today than yesterday but what difference is it really between 13* and 19*? heh!!!!
Again, I will say how grateful that I am that we aren't getting snow although we might get a bit tomorrow. I will gladly send that to you Felis!

Cleaning wasn't too bad yesterday, Caitlyn keeps those kids busy. She is really good with them. The only "issue" was when they were making jello in the kitchen and it spilled all over the floor. Cait very smartly suggested that I clean the kitchen last so I hadn't gotten in there yet. I must have mopped the floor three times and it still felt sticky ;)

I am coming down with a cold so when I got home I tried my best to relax and drink tea. Gary made pizza for dinner so I didn't even have to cook.

I don't know if you remember over the summer when the house across the street burned and the man died? They started pulling the house down yesterday and it looks like it will be totally gone today. Feels weird how one day you look at the same house that you have for 23 years and the next day it is gone.

My day is going to be quiet- Scott is going to Leah's, Cait is going to dinner with a friend. And I don't have to be anywhere. My parents are stopping in on their way to check on their lakehouse, make sure that the pipes don't freeze. They are just picking up some of the stuff that needed to be returned after Christmas. Not too much needed to be sent back which is good for everyone :)

I think I am just going to wrap myself in a gazillion blankest today- doesn't that sounds like a great plan?

Hoping that all of you have a fab day!!
xoxo

Felis- it sure is nice to be able to stay home and relax!
I can't figure out what is causing this weird rebooting of the computer. It was nice having Caitlyn there with me at the house too- she would stop me so she could give me a hug. I adore that girl
I worry about the weather changes and how they affect the animals too. We had a really warm January a few years ago and my forsythia bloomed. Mother Nature isn't happy with this...
Hope that your day today is going great again.

Nancy- I am thrilled for you that the Devils are doing fantastic this season! I hope that they keep it up all the way until May! The game sounded very exciting.
Hope that your knees aren't too achy today and that Luther doesn't want to spend too much time outside.
W is still wanting to be outside just to eat the snow. This morning she grabbed a chunk of ice that had to be the size of a small apple and crunched on that while I took my coat and boots off. By the time I got to her, she was licking her lips. ;)
ITA- thankful we aren't getting that lake effect snow!

Rae- how was the organizing going? I have to get myself motivated to some of that as well. Glad that you were able to get the snow pictures before it all melted away.
I always forget about your other DD's since you talk mostly about Jen since you live so close and do a lot together. What are their names? Maybe that way I can get them into my head more firmly. I will just about kill to have weather in the 40's.

Jean- Oh you are soooo lucky to have heated seats!!! My old car had a remote start which was very nice, but my dad's old car doesn't have that or heated seats. But I will take what is given to me. My mom got me a seat cover that you can plug in and that will be warm, but I am not driving my car since Cait will be driving that. Although, I should let her put it in so she has a warm seat.
Yeah-- the car situation is weird. I have been trying to get Gary to agree to sell the VUE- we won't get much for it but it would be off of the insurance. But then, someone's car goes in the shop and we need that as a backup. No one likes to drive the VUE cuz it is a boat, so I go back to that. It really is huge- I had a crazy time trying turn around in the driveway where I was cleaning yesterday. Between the driveway being icy, the VUE being so cumbersome, and not wanting to slide into the CRV it took me quite a while of going back and forth. LOL

OMG!! I love that LO!!

Felis- I have a love/hate relationship with puzzles. I like doing them until my eyes get so bleary that I end up giving up. Good luck with the Santa one!

good morning just got back from a walk with my DH and Luther. It is 17 and luckily no wind so it was not too bad. But when we get above freezing it will be just like summer LOL. Sometimes I feel like the weathermen like to scare people and as long as you are dressed for it it is not too bad. I mean I will not be out for long long times but my DH is out with the dog now and they are having fun in the backyard. Tonight is the last home game for my Devils and then they go on the road. I will only have 4 home games in January. But in February there are a lot of home games. So my DH is going to the game with me tonight and along with my DIL we are going in early for pizza and then the game. How fun. Talked to my son about my car and he said it was in fine condition. Yea and he sent it to the wash and it looks so good and I can see out of my front window so much better. My DH left damp towels in the car and then the sun hit the car and then condensation formed on the inside of the window and he used his hand to wipe it clean which smeared some and I could not reach the window to clean so now I am a happy camper and it only cost $32. The service writer said my son and I look alike. I don't see it but glad that others do. LOL I saw one of his mechanic friends and said hi. I could tell that he knew me but was not quite sure how and said hope the noise in the car is fixed. I just replied in for an oil change. My son said that when he saw him he was so embarrassed. Too cute. Had a great dinner last night - chicken with a mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. I don't like the gravy but the boys sure did. Everything was devoured.

Chris yes if you feel like you are getting sick wrap up in those blankets and read or watch TV. Glad cleaning went well and that Cait was great help. Enjoy the calm day.

Felis have fun with the puzzle. I like puzzles just no place to put it that Luther cannot reach and mess up. Enjoy the down time.

Rae mud and rain at 40 does not seem like fun. But I bet Taz does not care just running around is fun!

Jean don't you just love those heated seats. I don't think I could go back to non heated seats. It makes our car drives so much easier as I can be warm with the seats and my DH does not get so hot and thus we don't argue about the temp in the car.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I think today is my puttering around day. I am not expecting any work today, I'll check my email a few times to be sure but I am expecting nothing now until next Tues. I am going to scrap, organize, clean out the fridge, do laundry and pop over to VV to drop off 4 bags of clothes to them. I'm going to pull out a pork tenderloin to thaw out for NYE dinner, that is D's fave meal. I'll roast some veggies to go with it. I will get some grapes and chocolate to munch on (got mandarin oranges too) that night. I have a few cookies frozen that I can take out too. So NYE meal is all planned out. Jen is going to spend the night with us. She initially planned to stay home alone and deal with being single and alone for NYE but yesterday she texted that she's not ready to do that and wants to spend it with us. We'll play games and have a few drinks and maybe watch a movie or two, depending on how early she comes over. I'm glad she'll be here with me b/c I think that will be a night of reflection on how wrong life went for her and Bailey and she carries a tremendous amount of guilt for not recognizing the falseness of her marriage and what he is like. I want to be able to remind her of all that is positive out of this and how moving forward is the only and best thing to do. So it may be a teary time later in the night, we'll see. But whatever it is, we will be with her, so that is good.

D got Google Home from Jen for Xmas. She was so excited to give it to him. Luckily she got it from work as soon as they came into the store (they sold out immediately as it was the hot item to buy this Xmas) and used her discount for it along with a promotional price so it wasn't too expensive for her. We both love it. We keep thinking of new ways to use it. D is still trying to get the TV and thermostat to work with it. Every morning we ask it the temperature, what time do stores open, we play trivia games with it and we have fun asking it to play music for us. D will be able to use it to help him with his crossword puzzles which he does every day. So much fun.

Chris - my other daughter is Krystal (Mitchell & Courtney) and D's daughter is also Jen (they have the same middle name too LOL). She is Ella's mom, our youngest granddaughter. Hope you get to stay warm and snuggle up in your blanket for a good portion of the day, just relaxing. Not sure if that is possible with you though LOL. You are a putterer....like me only more so :) I know how you feel about the house across the street. I have a nearby park that I've been taking the dogs to for over 20 years and they bulldozed one large end of it, cut down most of the trees and now its a big open space with a few sidewalks and benches. Not fun for the dogs now. It's sad to lose that wonderful woodsy park. I pass by it almost every time I go out and it used to make my heart happy, gave me a moment's thought of all my dog walks there and now it looks so different and stark, being wide open, with almost all the trees gone.

Felis - are you still enjoying your "me" time? Have you gotten much reading and scrapping done? I finally got a page done yesterday after about a week or so of doing none. Today I will do a few more hopefully.

Nancy - enjoy the game tonight with your family. Last night's dinner sounds yummy. I love mushroom gravy but unfortunately D hates mushrooms. I often fry up lots of fresh mushrooms and add them to my gravy but not his. So many of our meals have to be tweaked for each of our preferences and dietary needs but I'm managing to make it all work without too much extra work. At this age I am tired of being in the kitchen cooking. I've put in my time, now I want meals to be quick and easy.

Trudy, Jean, everyone else....hope its a good day for you!

I'm going to go see what other challenge I need to work on today. D is heading out to visit his sister later for a few hours so I'll have the house to myself for a bit. Tonight we'll watch the last couple of episodes of The Gifted so we'll be ready for it to resume in January. Should be a good day.

Good morning, my dears!
Today I'm so talkative, so feel free to skip big parts of my post :) or the whole, if looks like I'm lose the meaning of the translation.

I'm so tired today, but so pleased. I went out to clean to the big dog. But the weather is so unusual warm, so Spring. So I stayed and found this and that, little things to be done at the yard. Fix, some botles of the young roses, that the wind previously days was opened. Move some leaves from under the bushes to the old roses. I'm not satisfied how I'm covered them this year, but now is too muddy to can fix it or do something more that to put more leaves on it. However! While I putted the leaves in a bucket, the smile don't let down from my face because I remembered for Chris and her warning that cats probably are hide some toilet surprises there. The Hunter was near and played carelessly with the dog and one of the other cats. So I ask her. But she pretend of too busy to answer on a strange questions. :tape: Seriously, it was so nice afternoon, that we did not feel how the darkness comes before to surprise us, days are so short!
This morning I scraped the covers of my 52 project to be ready for post. And then saw the lovely page of Jean's puzzle cats. It's a lovely when scraping mojo is strong, isn't it!?
Oh and about the book, thanks for all compassion comments! Chris, I just can't skip parts when I read, it's stronger than me :) . Fortunately descriptions wasn't too detailed, but still disappointing, the characters was so intriguing and many interesting questions were raised at the annotation, about the wild, the human nature and discrimination. But into the book all these lovely characters didn't do anything with their life except the ... hmm you knowed. I still continue to consider it, because I wasn't read anything from so long, maybe my analytical capabilities are become lazy. If anyone is wondering book is by Johanna Sinisalo, I think the english name is "Troll", but I not recommended it.

Chris, I'd love to send you some spring temperatures, will exchange it for some snow, please :) ! I'm curious to hear do this game Fake News Headline is interesting?! I love how in the movies people are together and play games, it must be so interesting. Yey, for Caitlyn's idea kitchen to be last, clever girl! My dad destroye buildings, he often saw us really big buildings which disappear for a week or so. But yes probably is weird when the landscape you are familiar is changed. Do you live in one of these neighborhoods with all the same houses, or something surprisingly will have appears there soon?! Day with the blankets sounds awesome to me! Hope you really do it!

Nancy, hope your knees are feel better today! It's very unpleasant to climb stairs especially at cold. But I'm sure that the euphoria from the game is not left you to saw these little disappoints. Good that you are far from the huge snow, at the news told that it is epic. Pizza sounds good to me, have a fun! Only the tiny dog have access to our bedroom, but she never up on a library cabinet, so we don't have a problem with puzzles :) . Actually today my sister almost is finished it.

Jean, you are did great work with the scraping! This morning I post my question about the puzzle in yesterday's topic :) , so I will not repeat it here. Hehe, how nice is to have a new car, it's so sweet to see how the heated seats makes you happy! Cold definitely is nasty thing, stay on warm, dear!

Rae, oh so good that for the holidays you could see your family who lives away! Did Taz played with the children at the snow?! This must be so much fun to watch! I'm sure you are made great photos. How interesting that you are attracted 3 new types of birds to your feeders, what you do for them is wonderful.

Pfuu, this post is going too long. I'll hit the limit for symbols. :)
Have a lovely day, girls!

 Rae, we are cross posted. Yep, I'll have to scrap few more pages but probably tomorrow. Oh, hug Jen! Why she feels so blue?! Probably because divorce was still to soon. It's not a bad to be a single woman, especially in the modern world when we have equal rights with the men. Hope soon she can see the good side! But definitely holidays have to be spend with the family, have a good time together!

Yesterday I went to the historical society to see if they are set up for me to see a book online that has restricted access. They aren't, at least yet, but it gave me a chance to see a lady who works there again before she retires tomorrow. DH also came and explored a new exhibit and got to look at all the old cars that were made locally. It was cold, but sunny with no new snow until the overnight. We've actually gotten up to 20* today! Our thistle feeder is attracting a bunch of goldfinches, juncos and one white-throated sparrow. One of the neighbors must have seed out as the "little pigs" (what we call the house sparrows) aren't eating all our seed. Oh, I forgot to mention, nephew finally got his copy of the book and sent a really nice email about it. I am so pleased!

Chris, oh no, not a cold! Yes, please, stay blanketed up today. Pretty sad about the house, but not good to have it burned out and standing. Good to see your parents today too.

Nancy, good luck to the Devils tonight. Sounds like you all will have a good time. I like your comments about the weather not being so frightening as the newscasts would make out. I still remember long ago trudging through knee-deep snow birding in 20* weather. I was well dressed for it and wound up sweating at the exertion. So I decided it wasn't really that cold unless it was below 20. (Notice I was much younger then!) Sports tonight for us should be the Cotton Bowl, but without cable TV and it on ESPN, we'll only see the beginning while we're out. I've always hated having Ohio State in bowl games as we (DH) really care how they play and if they win. You will have a long drought of hockey games, any chance you're going to one of those away games?

Rae, your puttering around sounds pretty busy to me. You and Chris must be alike that way. You make the Google Home sound fun. Ads for it seem pretty silly to us, but not what you describe. Interesting that you do a pork roast for NYE. We'll have one with sauerkraut on NY day. It's good that Jen is self-aware to know she still needs to be with family then.

Felis, what a nice time outdoors you describe! Don't cats ignore you just when you need their input. Hope you are enjoying the Santa and puppies puzzle. We usually have one going here. They help me get away from the computer and do something else. It was such fun doing the LO of the cat puzzles. I really got into it and everyone seems to be enjoying it, not just us. About borrowing them from the senior center, it is all honor system and yes, many puzzles have some missing pieces. We always write on the box how many when we take them back. Actually there are so many there no one would miss it if you didn't return one. We donate some and that is how they get them.

Cheryl, the Daily O (O for Oscraps) is just whoever wants chatting about whatever. Some come and post first thing in the morning (whenever that is in their time zone) but others post later. We get to know and care about one another this way. Everyone is welcome.

Trudy, thinking of you loving the company!
