whhhhheeeeeeeee!!!! :cheer2:
Last day of school and work (for me at least) until Christmas!!! Busy day, lots going on inside and outside of my head. That sounds messy, doesn't it?
I realized that I still need to make up two more small gift baskets for my mom's neighbor and for Gary's grandma. oops! Plus I have kids in and out *all* weekend, my house is gross, and I have to find the presents that I hid all over the house. The one car is going into the shop tomorrow but if they can't fix in on the spot then it is going to have to wait.

Other random bits-- NJ is observing a moment of silence at 9:30 today. The kids' school district will be doing that as well. I set my alarm on my phone for 9:30 so I can join in when I am at work. I told my kids last night that while there are silent I will be too, and I will also be thinking of how much I love them. I got the "Mom, you're so weird" but I'd bet that at 9:30 today they will remember what I said.

The woman I cleaned for-- well, when she said there was no clutter....:lever:
It wasn't bad clutter, hard with Christmas and all, but she has all of those kids, plus 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds, 2 rabbits (outside buns, I think), and a medically fragile 3 yo so lots of med. equipment. I told her her family was like mine but on major steroids!!! It took me longer than I expected, but she paid me more than I had asked. And... i got the gig-- every other week, plus if I get any cancellations, she wants me every week if I can.
Thank goodness cuz the last two months (one month of lost jobs due to Sandy) and Christmas expenses have wiped me out. (Notice I don't even count medical expenses, that's just a given :D:D:D)

So today I am off to one of my longest standing clients. I am bring her a tin of home made cookies cuz she and her hubby are sweeties. Lots of rain and wind here too, hope my basement doesn't flood.

Finish It Friday!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Too much!!!!! :p

eeeeek, I am running late (later than usual!). Quick personals for you today!

Terry -- did you get electricity back quickly? hope so!

Laurie- how was the wedding? Can't wait to hear about it! Any news about the court decision?

Phyllis-- :pound: You do like to iron!!

Eva-- you and Coco make a good team!:)

Linda S-- how did you make out with the snow? Hope you are all warm and cozy!

Trudy- hope you had a great day off. Wish I knew what that was like again hahaha!! Someday, eh?
Crazy windy here in NJ, wind advisories all over. Nancy- good luck to you with your power!!!!

Cinda- Healing thoughts to your DS! Gary has Mycoplasma too. Has your DS been tested for Lyme and co-infections? Mycoplamsa is *very* common with other tick-born infections. If he hasn't been tested for Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia it might not hurt to do that.

Much love to all!!!!!!!!!

Morning O fam- please sit down- I did not do my workout this am- wrapped presents instead! My son is traveling home today- positive thoughts and prayers for safe travel.

The reception was very nice. It poured rain yesterday, so when we arrived, we stayed in the truck until we were escorted in. The father of the bride said- just stay in here and my oldest son will come get you, I have reserved seats for you. So we did. It was so rainy and cloudy outside, that it was dark inside too- I felt like when you come in from a sunny day with your transition lenses on- only they never lightened up. I discovered at the end that they had actually made seating charts for each table. The tables were covered with white plastic, and the edges had white paper towel rolled out to cover it- good thing, cause I was messy. There was a slice of bread (not homemade) in a baggie on our plates, a glass of water already poured. There was butter or this pink marshmallow fluff stuff to spread on your bread. Lets see food: fried chicken (they cooked up 175 pounds of chicken for the event) mashed potatoes, stuffing, lettuce salad, fruit salad, gravy, date pudding, wedding cake cut in a special wedding cut ( I was informed by the Amish men sitting across from me- I thought it looked like a snowflake- then realized it was a star shape) and apple pie. Different from other Amish wedding receptions in that we were seated at a table with other Amish. I do not think there were any other English people eating in the house. The drivers of the Amish taxi's/vans/buses were fed elsewhere. There were Amish girls serving us. We scrapped and stacked our plates, and the girls washed up after dessert and when the older men started singing/chanting the Amish wedding music. Their hymnals got placed on the table after the main food and when the desserts were being spread. Conversation between the Amish men moved in and out of English and Dutch German. We did discuss things like not over eating because the food was so wonderful- the chicken was so moist it fell off the bone and gun control, animal care and they discussed barn building. The father of the bride came in and shared some of the weeks happenings- apparently the groom spent the week before with them. He has 60 acres of property- he is 28 and the bride is 20- they kidded with him during the week about him being old. He makes his money in growing produce. He has 10 acres left with plastic that needs to be picked up and he saved it until he was married because then he would have some help. However his daughter the bride, hates this particular job- Then it was discussed that maybe it would be different because this was now hers versus her fathers property. We also discussed how marriages do not last very long in the english world with greater than 50% divorce rate, how violent shooting video games (this from the Amish) may be impacting our youth and one gentleman was pretty sure the government would not be taking his guns away. It was a wonderful time. I always treasure when I get to attend because I love learning about other cultures- similarities and differences. Oh and it was touching to see one man carefully fold his wedding napkin with bride and groom name on and tuck in his jacket inside pocket- the were all wearing their Sunday clothes- dark pants, dark jackets and white button shirts (no ties). On the way out were tables of black hats, drying out from the time in the rain. There was candy passed to the little ones as evidenced by the chocolate candy smears on their faces.

Good morning - we are having a major rain and wind storm here in NJ this morning. I guess I can be grateful that I do not have a foot of snow but I would have liked a little snow - sorry Chris. Going to spend the time scrapping.

Laurie the reception sounds so interesting. thanks for all the info.

Have a great day!

Oh Laurie...it sounds like the wedding was so much fun!

And Chris, glad that the cleaning job worked out!

Brian wound up working a half day yesterday. I texted him that the DOT was saying to stay off the roads and that the wind was going to be bad last night so he should take PTO and come home. It was just him, his boss and one other guy who made it in. He told his boss that he was taking the evening off and both the boss and the other guy said that they were too!

So we had supper and then watched Christmas Vacation together as a family. And I got lots of loving done in the gallery yesterday as well.

This morning, after the kids get up, we are going to take my dad to breakfast. Then take him to the bank to get cash for the kids for Christmas. Otherwise, a slow day here.

Nancy, you slipped in while I was posting. My husband was just reading the sports page about the hockey season. I told him that I knew someone who cared a lot about that! Hope your rain clears!

Chris, glad the cleaning job came through for you. Has the mycoplasma never gone away for Gary? Is that because of the Lyme? I will mention those three to the doctor. Frightening diseases. I've got to get my little man feeling better and get some weight on him too.

Laurie, the wedding reception sounds interesting. So fun to learn about different cultures!

We have some snow this morning (not much as I can still see the grass poking through) looks like we might have a white Christmas. Very windy! Staying in, doing some baking and then our church kicks off Christmas services tonight.

Happy Friday!! TGIF and all that stuff!! Full of work today and then the weekend, then one more day of work before the big day. I don't mind having to work on Christmas Eve Day, it gives some of the others a chance to spend with family and I am not having any family this year, so its ok.

Chris - Wow that was one full house you cleaned yesterday!! Nice that she would like you come back again!! More money in your pocket is a good thing! I bet your kids remember what you said to them this morning too  Nice of you to give your longest standing clients the cookies! I bet they love them! Hope you get all your baskets done soon! Have a great day my friend!

Laurie - Wow sounds like the Amish Wedding was very interesting! Do they have a dance or anything after the supper? Or do they dance? Don't know much about the Amish, but you must have enjoyed yourself very much, it sounds like it would be a great time! We don't have Amish here, but on the prairie we had the Hutterite Colonies, they were similar to the Amish I think. Always got my turkeys from the Hutterites, they were huge and always tasted the best!

Nancy - Enjoy your day of scrapping! I spent the major part of my day looking for last minute stocking stuffers for MG, so did not get any scrapping done. Wish I could join today and just scrap the day away!! Oh well I will have the weekend to try.

LindaS - Glad that your hubby took the night off!! Hope you are all home snuggled in and warm and safe! Enjoy your breakfast with your Dad! Nice that you are taking him to get his banking done, I am sure he appreciates it! You are a great daughter!!

Well I gotta get in the shower and then get some breakfast. Need to talk to my dr soon, the vitamin supplements that I am taking are giving me diarrhea (too much info I know) :sorry: not sure if I should just stop taking them or if it will subside?? Anyway gotta run :bolt: Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!

Hi! I was out of town working yesterday and last night. Got up early to make the 2.5 hour trek back to the office. Have so much to do today. Time is creeping up on me. Only 2 more days to work this year and then off until next year! In the meantime, the two days are going to be jam packed.

The electricity was only off for about 3 hours. Thank goodness!

Don't have time for personals. Hope everyone has a great day. Sit back and relax.

Guess I better get to work if I ever expect to get finished!

hi, everyone! just me dropping in out of The 4th Dimension to say hiya. it's supposed to snow here. so far, nothing very impressive. i've been up since 3:30 a.m. (what else is new....) and now i'm baking bread to freeze for Christmas dinner. a real barn-burner of a day. my eyes hurt, but i'm thinking of trying sunglasses at the computer to see if that makes things better! sorry i'm not doing personals, but i am enjoying doing a fast read of what's going on in your lives. have a happy day. think Happy Christmas Thoughts!
