Oh I am finally feeling like I found some Christmas Spirit! The forum looks amazing with the Smile/Holiday avatars. Buddy has been busy too, with two Advent activities posted and both so fun!

I am actually feeling somewhat grounded as well. Best I have felt in a while. *knocks wood to keep it that way*
Yesterday, I scrubbed the stairs and got rid of all of the coffee spills. I asked the kids to *please* be careful and not spill any before Sunday. Scott just laughed and laughed at that one. I ignore that for the most part (the coffee spills, not the kids, although perhaps I need to do that too hehe!), but the stairs are right as you open the front door so people coming into the house have no choice but to see them. I also washed the wineglasses and scrubbed the hard water stains out of the sink. The upside to all of this is that I won't have to do it before the family comes here on Christmas Day. Whee!!!!!

The dogs were hysterical yesterday. When Cait got home from school, she took out the birthday cake for Ray. Jaida comes racing into the kitchen, sits in front of her and starts barking before we started to sing Happy Birthday. They loved the cake too. We gave Ravyn her stuffed toy, it was just a small one from the dollar store and she unwrapped it, took off, whacked J when she tried to take it and de-stuffed in in less than 10 minutes. Then she let J take an end and tugged. :pupkiss:

We watched the Grinch and Spongebob's Christmas together. The Spongebob Christmas song and when he waves his arms around cracks me up every darn time. That makes my kids laugh at me and it is all good.
Reminder to self: Laughter and family= All Good!!!!

Today will be the fun part of the Open House, I get to be creative in setting everything up. It will take me a while to rearrange everything they way I like, but I will be getting baskets and ribbons and everything together so all I have to do tomorrow is relax. And make some $$???? I hope so!

:hug:Hoping that all of you have a wonderful day:hug:

Nancy- This weather is nuts! Not that I am complaining that it is going to be sunny and 50*, not at all! Hope that your sisters surgery went well, is she going to get them both done at the same time or will they do one first, then the other? How funny that the guys didn't like the stew, that it was bland. But it must have been a good comfort food for you. I saw the Lo of your DS, cute!!!
Thanks for thinking that I am strong, sometimes -- most of the time-- it is just as act, fake it 'til ya make it. But other times I surprise myself.

Rae- what a special story of the mugs, really tugged at my heart. I saw that LO on FB too, and it is really such a pretty mug, and even prettier seeing you holding it.
Great news about Darrell getting a bonus! Oh I miss the days when Gary was working and we would get a Christmas bonus. But good for you both and I am happy that it will help smooth things out with the other loss of $$ for you.
Thank you so much for the compliments on my/our products. Did you see that Sandrine and Hieronique can't come, too far? Just because the Atlantic Ocean is between us? You and Trudy are coming right? I mean, you guys at least live on the same continent. Bwuahahahah!!!

Trudy- that is awesome about sleeping in, your body must be preparing for Vacation Mode! Too cute that you are off to raid your sister's closet. Cait and I can share tops, but pants-- not at all. No butt or hips on that girl.;)
Yes, Brendan officially moved out yesterday. It feels kind of odd. Not good, not bad. Just different. Although, it isn't like we won;t ever see him again. he did say how happy his mom is but George (The step father) is already treating him like crap when he had been around for Thanksgiving. The Bio Father is not any better, he is the one who asked if Cait had gotten pregnant yet when Brendan texted him a pic of them from Prom. Asshole.:mmph: No wonder you can't keep them straight.

Hi Jean! You look wonderful in your Holiday Avi. How nice to hear your DH play at the potluck, but that it really put everyone in the spirit.
Thank you so much, it mean the world to me when all of you remind me that I am strong. It is very easy for me to forget that.

NancyP- don't you know that as soon as you say that you have a quiet day/week, that is when the Universe laughs its butt off? BTDT too many times to count hahahah!!!!!
I am so grateful for the food pantry too. I cannot thank the people who donate enough and I know that i will never meet them, so I send my thanks out this way~~~~ (Vibes and good thoughts)
I hope that it doesn't get cold even though I know that we need the snow for spring melt. But I don't like snow/cold/dark. *whines*
I am so happy that I am not the only one who counts down to the day when the days get a longer.
Shopping for my kids- Scott is asking for a replacement for his Woodstock Peace sign necklace. He got one a few years back, they are made from the fence from Woodstock. He lost his and wants another. That will be easy- the man sells them on Etsy for about $45. Cait wants make-up and clothes. And she also wants stuff from Lush.com. Bath bombs. She wants me to buy another persons BATH BOMBS!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!

Sorry 'bout that. I tried to explain to her that there is something inside of me that feels a bit of betrayal there. hahahah! But Lush really does make some really cool stuff. *sigh*
There is so much payback that I am looking forward too.;) Then I realize that both of them only want fur-kids and scale-kids. Scott and Leah want to have a lot of reptiles and amphibian kids. Not much payback there. Bummer.
Thankfully, my dogs sleep really well, too well with Jaida when I can't make her move her block head off of me. Harley --my old girl, gone for 4 (?) years now, she had so many accidents in the house before we had to have euthanized. I hope that Cupcake can either hold it longer or stay happily in the bathroom. And if not, what is a bit more carpet cleaner? *nods*

BTW- I adore your enthusiasm! You really always seem so darn happy. have a great time with the party and don't hesitate to ask if you need help.

good morning! My sister came through the surgery with flying colors. But last night she was not seeing much difference. She will be getting the other done in a couple of weeks. Started my aA project. And watched my Devils lose in OT to the Blackhawks again. But we got back Taylor Hall and one of my fav players Travis Zajac got a hat trick. Really happy for him! My rookies all played well but it was good to see my veterans come through. Well my boys both complained about the stew but then my son wanted it for lunch and my DH also took some for lunch. Too funny.

Chris so glad that you are feeling so good! Have fun setting up for the Open house! It must seem so different having Brendan gone. I sure hope it works out well with his mom and step-dad. It cannot be easy feeling not wanted by one adult. Your family was so nice to offer him a place to recoup. It cracks me up that reptiles are on a Christmas list.

Rae what a beautiful story about your mugs. I know what you mean about only you washing them by hand! I have glasses that are that special to me too. Christmas bonuses are special - enjoy! Amazing that a big company cannot figure out its sales figures.

Trudy that is wonderful you are getting so much sleep! My sister and I do not have the same tastes so we never shared and even now we don't. Because she works she has all these dresses and well I don't have that many dresses LOL. But between my sister and her daughter I know who to go to to find bargains and gorgeous dresses.

NancyP I too am counting the days until the day light starts increasing! I can deal with snow and cold as long as there is daylight. In fact I would love to see some snow instead of rain.

Jean yes I am going on the Christmas bird count. For our area it is on Jan 1. I know I said I want snow but maybe not that day. LOL I think it is awesome that your DH plays and sings so fun!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Got a pleasant but busy day ahead. I need to get dvd burned of client photos as they will be popping by later to pick it up. Another client dvd I need to get to the post office after I drop off library books. Taz has a vet appt later (his poor bum draining...yuck, but it does make him feel so much better). I need to dust and wash floors later, in between getting desk work done and I want to work on my advent CT stuff so I can finish it up over the next day or so, and get that out of the way.I'm loving the energy and participation in the forum. I popped in there first before coming here and played the comment game. It's so much fun.

Chris - yes...I will be there (in spirit but wish it was IRL). I hope you get a lot of sales. I think Taz was playing along with the birthday tug-of-war fun in spirit with your dogs. He ripped the stuffing out of his gingerbread man stuffie yesterday (after it lasting almost a year). I was just thinking yesterday morning that he hadn't destroyed any toys in quite awhile....huh...famous last words LOL. A few hours later...tada...white stuffing all over the LR and him laying amongst it with his bone, looking pretty content...the little bugger.

Jean - Xmas bird count..that sounds like fun. I am itching to go to Reifel bird sanctuary soon to take photos and watch the birds (just need a dry wkend).

Nancy - in the comment game they asked for a skating pic and I immediately thought of you hockey pages....so grabbed one to put into the game. It's a gorgeous page!

NancyP - I start counting down the days until we get past the shortest day for daylight. I hate that it gets dark so early now.

Trudy - sleeping in, getting ready for her trip. So lucky! (I still wish I could figure out how to sneak aboard with her LOL). I'm dreaming of cruises now. It's going to be a long couple of years before we're reading for another one unfortunately.

I'm going to get started on work now, better get going. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Good morning ladies... I can't believe that its Friday already!! My cupboards are almost bare and I don't want to do any grocery shopping because we are not going to be here after Monday. What the heck will I make for supper tonight :noidea: It might be a hot dog KD kind of night LOL. I still haven't mailed DD parcel and have to wait until Saturday to do it because it is too big and awkward for me to try to do myself. I am so not looking forward to seeing how much this will cost!! :fear:

Chris - It is great to hear that you are feeling better! I truly hope that it continues that way for you! Poor Brendan, my hope is that he will not put up with any bad behaviour from either of the male figures in his life!! He will be getting to be that age when he will be physically to mature to put up with that and hopefully he will put them both in their place!! With hopefully no harm to anyone! It will seem very different for your family not to have him there! I wish that we could come to your party!! When are they ever going to invent that teleport machine like on star trek so that we can visit whenever we like :becky: Ha, Ha, Beam me up Scotty!! Nice that you and Cait can wear each other clothes!! My sister let me borrow a couple of very nice tops and a few sun dresses and also some cute bathing suit cover ups. So I am all set to go.

Nancy - I love your layout of Luther in trouble!! Poor Luther, he doesn't like you to leave him alone LOL. I can't blame you for not putting up a tree, but it just won't seem like Christmas with out one, at least for me anyway as I am also not putting up a tree this year.

Rae - Hi Rae!! I initially was here way before you this morning, but DD called and we have been talking for over an hour now. So glad that you are enjoying the commenting game, I really need to get over there and see how things are going! Hopefully Buddy the O' Elf will make a few appearances today! Wish you could come along with us to Mexico too! What fun to just lay on the beach or by the pool and get to know each other better! Wish we could all go together!! I hope that you get to do your cruise soon, my MG is not a fan of the though of cruising, he thinks it will be like the B.C. ferries LOL I keep telling him that it would be amazing and not at all like the ferry boats :becky: Oh well maybe some day!

I better sign off her and get busy with things here at the O. I hope you all have fun with the Advent Celebrations!! Off I go :bolt: Have a wonderful friday everyone!!

I stopped in the comment forum first also. That is a fun place today. Now I've got to get to the grocery so I can make a tuna pasta salad for a potluck tomorrow. Haven't done that in ages. I'm another who watches for the change in day length and wishing it weren't getting colder.

Chris, how great to be feeling the spirit. Wish I could be at the open house too! Amazing that older kids like watching the Christmas specials with their parents.

Nancy, your guys and the stew are funny! Hope the Devils get a winning streak going for you. Doing the Christmas Bird Count on Jan. 1 must be a nice start to the year. Ours is always the first Sat., so the 17th this year.

Rae, it might be scary if Taz is joining the the fun with NJ dogs! Hope you get lots done today and find some dry weekend for photography.

Trudy, just keep thinking about Mexico for you. Just a few more days now. Wow, lots of wardrobe from your sister sounds swell.

Hope a great weekend is shaping up for everyone!
