GooOd morning, dearie-Os! It's Friday! One week to go.

I am pooooooooooooooooooped out. I felt like I was only semi-conscious yesterday afternoon. I cleaned in the morning, came home, talked to my parents to wish my dad good luck today with his surgery. Took Cait to get her booster and found the GCs I wanted while I was waiting. Hit the feed store and we picked out new toys for the dogs. Texted with my brother, I asked him if he could pick up vegan cupcakes for me and stick them in the freezer. He should be able to grab them on his way home from the hospital this morning. He is able to stay with my dad until he goes in for Prep and the bakery is right around the corner.
The surgery is 90 minutes and he should be home mid-afternoon. I hope my brother is able to stick around for a bit to help him get settled. I'll have to see if they need me to pop over tomorrow.

I am doing a bit of baking today and would love to get the baskets wrapped up.
So many grand plans -- who knows how much I can get done? Never as much as I need to do. That is for sure. *nods*

WIshing all of you a productive day!

@tanteva Check out my siggie. ;)
By the time you read this, you should be done with work and ready for the holidays!
Caitlyn submitted her last final yesterday and is *very* excited to have the next 4 weeks off.

@LSlycord *grabs chest- Lizabeth, it's the big one*
Yeah, you gave me a heart attack, you just started your shopping???
(BTW, did I totally date myself with that reference?? LOL!)
We watched a TV series on a NZ channel last year and the Christmas commercials were making us laugh, BBQs and beaches. So different from what we are used to and didn't feel Christmasy at all. I did see the iPhone commercial that was filmed by @nancyr So fun to bake with Syd-- that is one of the cookies Caitlyn and I make together. We double the recipe and end up making about 12 dozen of them
Jungle Cruise was good?

@BrightEyes Did the coffee do the trick for you yesterday?
Good luck with the deliveries today. Thanks for liking the family gift! It was fin to make, I like making gifts. Every year I saw I should start earlier though

Hahahaa!! There's the grinch book! So funny, Eva!

@bcgal00 The gallery really does look great, I tried to do some commenting on and off yesterday, def. need to do more today. Hope you get everything done that you need to so you can relax all weekend

@Cherylndesigns That is so funny about your DD who is the MA w/r/t vaccines. It's the same thing with IVs- Drs apparently suck at inserting IVs while nurses have *the touch.* Caitlyn felt fine other than the sore arm last night, hope she is good today but she doesn't have anything to do today so she can rest either way.
I hate Visa GCs - between the activation fee and that you usually can't spend the entire card (not sure if this is true at all stores but when I try to use a Visa GC, you can't go over that card amount and pay cash/different card for the balance. I had so many cards with ~$1-2 left on them.) -think about how much they make just on the money that isn't used. *eye roll*
Very smart of you to get boosted before the holidays. I am hearing that in NJ people are starting to have some trouble getting appts recently. I bet in another week or so it is going to get harder every day.

@scrap-genie Bakery cookies are yummy too! Thx for liking the family's gift, they are curious about the big box under the tree but no one has messed with it yet. At least not that I know about!

hugs!

Woke up at 3:30AM but managed to fall back asleep until 5:30. Got a cup of coffee and came in to check the tracking on my printer... it is OUT FOR DELIVERY! Whoo-whoo!! But, of course, that meant I had to get dressed just in case it is delivered early in the day. With my luck it will be later this evening (deliveries can be as late as 9PM).

Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. Got the laundry done and put away, changed the sheets on my bed, and cleared off counters, and put stuff away. Even cooked grilled pork chop, potato, and coleslaw salad for supper. Plus did some CT work.... Guess those 3 cups of coffee did the trick... :D And it was so nice to crawl into a freshly made bed last night! So nice and comfy that I fell asleep while trying to read my book.

Still have some CT work to finish up today, I hope. Then need to make sure that it all gets backed up onto the ExHD. Which reminds me, I need to switch over to the new 5TB ExHD as my 2TB is almost full. Since it will take several hours to do that back-up, I need to remember to start it before I go to sleep.

Chris, I almost spit out my coffee when I read your addition to your siggie!!! Oh, how fun... I know Eva will love it, too. Glad your brother is going with your dad for his surgery. Keeping him in my thoughts. Sending you wishes that you can get everything packaged and ready for Christmas.

Off to put the sheets in the washer and get another cup of coffee. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning! Ok...I didn't make it back in here yesterday and I didn't scrap BUT...drumroll please...I did finish my Christmas shopping. Well, I finished this morning but I got all of my ideas together yesterday. There won't be a lot of gifts. Each kid had a computer on its last legs the last week of school. How does that even happen...two completely different laptops with different ages and they both give out? So each of them is getting a new laptop. They wanted a 2-in-1 so they are getting those.

Shaun is getting a swim tether. Our pool isn't long enough for him to swim laps. He is a good swimmer and there are no lap pools nearby so with the swim tether, he will be able to start swimming again and get himself in shape. He would like to do Masters swimming but both clubs are about 45 minutes away and he just isn't going to drive that on a daily basis. However, if he can get into competitive swim shape by swimming in our pool then he could swim with the club one or two days a week. He really misses the swimming.

Syd is getting a backpack for school and a new robe. She wants one for the laptop and she has always used backpacks she had for sporting teams. Those days are done.

Brian and I got the fire pit for each other. We enjoy it in the mornings although the last couple of mornings have been pretty warm. We will hit 80* today and I'm kind of excited about it. Lots of sunshine.

But the really big gift is a trip to Europe in May. I bought the insurance and I'm rolling the dice. Kids will both be done with school on 4/29 and we will take off on 4/30. Spending 3 nights in Amsterdam, 3 nights in Paris and 3 nights in London. I've been talking about it for awhile but no believes that I'll do it. So everyone will get a travel guide and an itinerary for Christmas.

So now I can relax until I decide what we are doing for Christmas dinner and that all starts up again. (I'm thinking about a standing rib roast. I've never done one but it sounds kind of fun.)

Back with my coffee mug filled to the brim and it's time to do a few personal posts.

@faerywings hope things go well for your dad today. I'm glad that your brother is able to stay with him until they take him to surgery. This has been one of the saddest parts of the whole Covid thing---how many people are alone now in hospitals. Yes, Jungle Cruise was good. But last night we watched one that is even better. Togo. Have you seen it? It's based on a true story about a sled dog. I'm not going to lie---there were a few tears from me. But it was excellent! And your siggie made me laugh!

@BrightEyes now that is fast on the delivery of your printer! And, I hear you about the clean sheets...I just love that feeling. So much so, that I think I'll go up and strip our bed and put on clean sheets for tonight. Then I'm going to indulge myself by listening to an Audible book while I scrap. Sounds like a great day.

@BrightEyes and @Cherylndesigns well I guess that I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in not feeling like it isn't Christmas down here. I need to embrace the warm air...or turn the AC up on high. LOL at least when I typed in yesterday's Daily O's that I hadn't started Christmas shopping, it did give me a kick in the pants and I got into gear!

@Cherylndesigns glad that you are feeling better.

@tanteva I loved the Grinch book in Swedish!

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was a rough one. The big meeting with the workers/hospital team for Bailey wasn't very productive. They basically just admit to not knowing what to do with her as her medical situation is so unique...same old story. They continue to say there is no long term facility that meets her needs. It scares us to not know how she'll be taken care of in the future, as it is becoming evident that the current caretakers are becoming overwhelmed and we all know that placement will not last indefinitely. So Jen and I had a bit of a melt down yesterday, I was quiet last night, stuffed myself with Subway and cookies and then played with the dogs while watching the Survivor finale. I guess I needed to let it out, to vent, and now today I'm ready to continue advocating and trying to do what I can to make her life happier. So....I'm feeling good today. Looking forward to baking cookies with her tomorrow and hopefully she will get excited about Xmas coming.

Today I need to get the dogs in for nail trimming, I still haven't booked physio yet (want to try a different one) and Jen might come over with Bella later for a doggie playdate.

I have work today and backlog to do on Monday and then I should be done work until the 27th. There might be the odd file here or there but I can do that at my leisure. This is D's last day of work. After 25 yrs of having the house to myself during the day, it'll be weird to have hubs home every day.

I got my Xmas bonus so that was nice, wasn't sure if I was getting one this year. It'll probably be the last one I get b/c I don't plan to be working until next Xmas. I think I might go out on Boxing Day morning to see what deals there are. I haven't done that for a few yrs.

@faerywings Hope your dad recovers quickly from his surgery. How great for C to have a month off! When does she get the new little rat babies?
@BrightEyes Enjoy the new printer, hope it doesn't come too late in the day.
@LSlycord That's fantastic about the upcoming trip!

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning. I woke up in the middle of the night, too. UGH - did manage to go back to sleep, but woke up again at 6 - Daisy was barking at something. Chuck yelled "stop it" and she did. She sleeps on the couch now and I'm sure she's in protection mode all night.

Chris @faerywings I hope your dad does well today and that he has a good recovery. He'll be down and out for a little while, I'm sure. Glad your brother can be with them - I know that helps you out.

I KNOW those Visa cards are set up to not give you all the money. They have to make MORE money. *insert eye roll*.

It's raining so hard here today - we have a metal roof and it really emphasizes the rain. I do like it, though, unless it's raining really hard or if we get the occasional hail. It sounds like little bullets hitting it. So, it's been raining pretty hard and I think that must have been what woke me up.

Linda @LSlycord you whipped that shopping out! The trip to Europe sounds wonderful! How exciting!

Hope everybody has a good day. I'm happy that I'm feeling better today.

Hugs

I'm so tired, I hardly know my name. No more work for the rest of the year though, it will be nice to calm down a bit.

Have tons to do & tomorrow it's time for the 3rd shot, hence probably super tired tomorrow as well.

Now: time to zzzzzzzleep
