The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Can you believe today is the last day of the party? I can't! I feel like I missed out on so much of it. But I finally got the Art Doll Challenge done, that was a really fun one. I did a couple of challenges and a couple of the games. I'll try to finish the rest of the challenges if I have more time over the weekend. I should have a bit-- the Merit Badge Program I was working tomorrow got cancelled. That's almost an entire free day for me!

Today is the *big* field trip day. Final head count is 22 kids, 4 yo-12 yo. And because it is always *something,* the second person working with me called in sick yesterday. I am so grateful that she let us know yesterday so I had the time to make sure I have everything prepped in advance. I did as much as I could and I have a fantastic coworker with me and 4 chaperones who will *fingers crossed* be on top of it.
I am excited for the topic and I love the plans and projects we are doing. That said, if you have any "calm and well-behaved/listening kids vibes." I'll take 'em!

I felt like the entire day was a blur. I tried to get cold compresses on Jaida's leg every time she lay down but she would get up, glare at me, and walk away. I'd try to get her to stand still and hold it on her leg, but that didn't last more than a minute or two.
I made another batch of seed paper that is almost dry/ready to be cut. Another batch of cookies. Art Doll LO. And a really yummy dinner. Vegan Chick'n and Dumplings. I am looking forward to having that for my lunch today. :D

DAY 12 - Redo A Layout | CHALLENGE

Make today a great one!! ♥

Oh yeah-- and it is going to be *cold* today. (19°/Real Feel is 2°!!!)
At least it won't be snowing..... yay.......

I put the spices for my vegetarian chili rather than the spices for my 6-hour stew. OOPS! But it should be fine! I'll make some Jiffy cornbread to go with it.
Sounds like it made a perfect Tex-Mex chicken soup. How did you and Mark like it?
I have never framed any of our puzzles. Is it hard to do, other than forcing myself to go to a Walmart?

Good morning! Well made it through the colonoscopy and don't need another one for 5 years. We will see if I'm in the mood for that in 5 years! Then yesterday, the high winds knocked the power out where my great-niece goes to school so I had her all day. I loved the time with her...but I was exhausted and fell into bed at 7 last night. So crazy!
That's great news about the test.
Spending time with your niece sounds wonderful. What did you do together? And of course, you were exhausted! I'm wiped out by 7 pm on a lazy day LOL
We are paying $200 for someone to load the truck..
Such a smart idea and well worth it in IMHO!

So I'm off to enjoy it...much like taking in an art museum today.
What a fabulous perspective!!

Darrell is coming home this afternoon...yay! I enjoyed the quiet in the house for two weeks and not having to cook dinner but I'm glad that he'll be home today.
:dancing6: Great news!!! What are the next steps for him? Does he need to go back into the hospital or can everything else be handled at home?
I haven't been around as much so obvously Jaida had something happen but she is ok now, right?
Remember when she had the torn CCL right before Remi did? There was an infection in the hardware and she had to have it all removed. Thankfully, this surgery was much simpler than the TPLO and only needs 2 weeks of recovery/no PT. She is getting around well, although she is on a long-lasting pain injection that will wear off at some point today or tomorrow. Hope she does ok then.
Remi is still doing well with her knee?

I will be off to the library today. Yes... I was just there 2 days ago. Checked out 3 books... turns out I had already read 1 of them, I couldn't get interested in the 2nd one..(translated from another language) and thought the 3rd one was jumping from one time back to early times that didn't make sense for the shift then back again... not cohesive about the shifts at al
They must love you at the library, one of their best customers! hahahah!
Can't believe that tomorrow is the end of the 12 Days of December event... The games end Dec 13 but the challenge LOs go until the end of the month. Still have a couple of challenges I haven't done.
It went by sooooo quickly this year!

yesterday was fun. I think our high was 2°F. Normally when we are cooking in the kitchen at church its HOT and we open the windows and turn the fan on, even in winter. Yesterday was so cold the kitchen never really heated up and when we did get warm I opened the window 1/2 inch and oh it was cold cold cold. Closed it an hour later. Never turned the fan on. Well, the dining room was cold too. Looked at thermostat and it was 63 in the building. Someone had turned the heat off!!!!! HELLO!!!!! Its winter!!! Never turn the heat off. Thankfully we noticed the temp (6 hours after arriving and freezing most of the day) and the pastor realized what happened. They turned the heat on and it slowly warmed up. Had the heat stayed off we could have had frozen pipes with the temps we had/have. Crazy days. Dinner was a huge success and everyone loved the new recipe.
Oh my goodness!!! Thankfully, you noticed the heat was off and got it back on. I don't even want to imagine what would have happened with the pipes. Nope.
Glad the recipe was enjoyed by all!
Stay warm!!!

I had VW Jetta diesel
That is too funny, Tracy's story of the engine heater reminded me of a childhood story. My dad had a Diesel VW Rabbit and we were on a weekend trip to Upstate NY. The weather turned even colder than expected and we got stranded because the car wouldn't start. IIRC, my dad had to add a tiny bit of gasoline to the diesel to thin it out before it turned over.
but what did they do? take the old joint out and replace it? Is she a big dog.
All of the metal hardware came out. They were placed into the newly configured knee to keep the bones in stable while they knit back together. Once the bones do that, they are unnecessary but are left in unless there is a problem. ATM we have to be careful with her because her bones have holes in them where the screws were. They should fill in eventually, but for now, on a leash to go potty :bawling:
esterday we got our new appliances delivered.
Wooo hooo!!! Soooo exciting!!!
Also, congrats to G-DS!! Safe travels in the new car!
I will wear my flannel pants with Santas & campers on them.
That is adorable!!!

Well, we got the word at the ophthalmologist office this morning that the oral meds aren't doing any good so David needs surgery sooner rather than later. Which means that we're canceling our usual January trip to Florida. I'm going to miss my time biking and basking in the sun, but it is what it is. At least we'll save some money -- looking on the bright side.
I am so sorry to hear this! I'm glad that the surgery will be done, and it won't be hanging over your heads. I hope that you can reschedule your trip to FL.
We're all board game aficionados, so it may just be a cozy afternoon in front of a fireplace at one of the local wineries.
This is what my vote would be. No skiing for me!! Hope you find something fun and festive to enjoy!

I should probably just google this, but what is craft ice and why does it take 24 hours to freeze? I'm imagining it being part vodka but that's probably not right.
:rotfl: That's my kind of mind!

Oh, I was so happy I was on top of all games and challenges for 12 days of December. But ... not anymore. For some reason - all scrap forums hated me. I wasn't able to access any (tried the O, Lilypad, and GingerScraps) - all forums where just a white blank page. It's been like 2 days or something! So annoying!
That is soooo crazy! I was thinking maybe it was an issue with the web builder since some other scrap sites use the one Oscarsp uses. But then no one would be able to get to them. I hope you get all of the games done before they close.

Happy Friday to all of yOu.
Bunko was fun last night, there was 20 of us so it was loud and hectic.. The food was excellent, my cheesy bites went over well so I was happy. I did not win--I never do! We all had our ugly Christmas clothes on so it was funny. By the end of the evening my knee was really sore and all I wanted to do was sit with it elevated, my hip was fine so this was just proof that I need to address my knee next. Yuck.
I have nothing planned for today except some Christmas wrapping for the Secret Santa party tomorrow night. I may see if the girls want to take a walk but it would be later as it's cold here this morning..46* I know that isn't really cold but for Florida it is and I have turned into a wimp.
Dear granddaughter called yesterday to tell me it is single digits till we see her. She is so excited to come down here for Christmas so we will have fun showing her a Florida Christmas.

Good morning and Happy Friday...end of the week! Hard to improve on that. Unless you are @BoatLady and going to be sitting (well, I don't think that Debby sits a bunch) out in the warm Florida sunshine. I remember those days...as I use my little snow thrower to clear the sidewalks. We have made a couple of good purchases this year as we get into winter. The Heat Traks are the bomb! And my little snow thrower...we had about 1 1/2 inches yesterday afternoon and I got to use it for the first time. It doesn't take any exertion on my part and actually it makes me feel more comfortable as I walk down our driveway...not such a fear of falling down.

Today is the *big* field trip day. Final head count is 22 kids, 4 yo-12 yo. And because it is always *something,* the second person working with me called in sick yesterday. I am so grateful that she let us know yesterday so I had the time to make sure I have everything prepped in advance. I am excited for the topic and I love the plans and projects we are doing. That said, if you have any "calm and well-behaved/listening kids vibes." I'll take 'em!
Have a great time. That's a big group with such a large age range...4 to 12...always the best vibes coming for you. I love that you do this!

Spending time with your niece sounds wonderful. What did you do together? And of course, you were exhausted! I'm wiped out by 7 pm on a lazy day LOL
What a day! We got down on the floor and played with blocks and did a puzzle. I keep the kids toys in a closet in the basement and they like to go to the basement. We went up and down the steps probably at least 6 times. Which I'm sure matches the number of times I went down there in the last two months. (Shaun and Sydney both have bedrooms down there and then there is a bathroom that they share and a family room. So I don't go down very often although it is a nice living space.) The electric fireplace changes colors and so we would watch for purple which is Wavy's favorite color (as I heard 100's of times). We colored together and we learned that we both shared the name "NOEL" and we learned that the only way to get marshmallows for dessert was to take a bite of our sandwich and it couldn't be just the little tiny bite...it needed to be a bite that requires real chewing. And she styled my hair. Then we went to the library and spent a couple of hours. It was a VERY GOOD DAY!

Truth...46 is cold in Florida! I was surprised when I started feeling like that was cold! But I do miss Bunko...that was something that we did in Palm Coast. Usually 15-20 of us, all bringing food, everyone talking loud...I can pretty much see you and your friends. A little homesick for that, but it really was a good decision for us to move back. If you need to have the knee done, will that change your summer plans.

Busy day ahead -- Tonight is the concert for my chorus. We had the "dress" rehearsal last night. The chorus bought risers over the summer so we're standing on them instead of just on the steps of the church where we sing, and we are packed in tighter than sardines. I have to hold my music folder so close to me to avoid hitting the head of the person in front that I can't focus on the print. I am missing those steps.

I decided to go to Costco to buy a chicken pot pie for dinner Saturday when our nephew is here. I love them but never buy them for home because it just doesn't make sense for two people, they are so big. Not that three people is going to make a difference but I am pretty good at making up excuses for stuff I want to do anyway.

We rotated the mattress in the master bedroom yesterday, had to flip it end over end this time. I can really tell that David is not as strong as he used to be. He's going to PT but since he never does the exercises at home I don't know what good it's doing. He'll be 78 next month, so there's nothing surprising but every so often aging just hits you in the face.

I have been participating every day and keeping up with the 12 days party. Very proud of myself. And then this morning I realize I never downloaded the Day 10 of the Winter Fun kit! How did I miss it???? I'm so mad at myself. I'm trying to remember what I was doing that morning that kept me from catching that.

thought the 3rd one was jumping from one time back to early times that didn't make sense for the shift then back again... not cohesive about the shifts at all.
My book group has decided that the style of skipping around time is one of our least-loved styles of modern writers.

I want to get the challenges done, before I switch computer, cuz you never know what happens.
Every time I get a new PC there's always about 3 days of instability as I catch things that didn't transfer over or that need setup changes. The shift from Win10 to Win11 is still killing me because of its insistence on using the Microsoft cloud services which I don't want. I'm still catching places that I have to change because of that.

I did not win--I never do!
I actually read once that there's a national Bunco tournament, which kept me laughing for 3 days. The only skill you need is balancing snack, wine, and conversation with random dice throwing.

The electric fireplace changes colors and so we would watch for purple which is Wavy's favorite color (as I heard 100's of times).

Snowing here today. Starting to stick! But it's 36 degrees, so I don't see it lasting very long!
The frame was 24x30...a poster frame with a very thin acrylic protective "glass". The frame was perfect for the 1000 piece puzzle. It was easy enough to spread the frame enough to slide the puzzle behind the little tabs along the edge that bend over to hold the backing on. I also bought a small jar of the mod podge and a pack of foam brushes. The total cost was just over $30 with taxes.

Good morning,
Been up since 7. Couldn't sleep so I got up. My IBS was calling me to the bathroom, but I just didn't want to get up.....until I had not choice! But, I was basically awake, anyway. I've been working on my December monthly review. I am doing a bird theme with it, especially since I am also doing the daily thing with Anna Aspnes.
The soup turned out good with the chili spices. It was a little hot for me but Mark loved it! @faerywings I forgot to answer your question about the soup in my reply to you.
Mark doesn't want to go to lunch today since he is only working until 2 at the latest. I picture him coming home even earlier than that. Except I just remembered the snow we are getting might hinder him from going to the woods. But maybe not since it really isn't that cold and I'm surprised to see any of it sticking anyway! It is pretty heavy and wet, too.
Nothing much happening for me today. I'm chilling and still in my jammies!
Need to check out the final challenge for the December event. Hard to believe it finishes up today, except that everyone still has til the end of the month to do the scrapping challenges.
Have a great day!

Hi Terri,
Check your private messages. I sent you the link for day 10!

Morning, all. I was busy scrapping yesterday and the next thing I knew it is 4:30PM... I was still in PJs... and no errands run. So today I must run my errands and go to the library. Just as well as now I can have the librarian stamp off on this week's reading time (Winter Reading challenge) while I am there. Only 3 more weeks to go on that challenge - then I get to pick a free book.

Can't believe the turn-around in our weather... it is getting up to 60'sF for the next week!!! Breaking high temps records!!! Doesn't look like we will have a White Christmas this year... At least I don't worry about icy roads when I am out and about.

The house temp is high enough so off to get my :showering:get dressed and get my errands done. BBL

Good Morning O Fam
I hope your all bundled up and staying warm. Seems were all in a cold trend for our different areas. Guess we cant deny winter is here.

I tried to get cold compresses on Jaida's leg every time she lay down but she would get up, glare at me, and walk away. I'd try to get her to stand still and hold it on her leg, but that didn't last more than a minute or two.
This is hard, trying to compress the doggies. Our big dogs aren't allowed on the furniture so I will sit on the floor. They come over and lay on my lap. Then I can do anything, trim nails, brush them, etc. Maybe if you sat on the floor and held Jaida and could then cold compress her incision. My dogs will allow just about anything so long as I hold them LOL
Oh yeah-- and it is going to be *cold* today. (19°/Real Feel is 2°!!!)
You're real feel is our temp. I'm afraid to look at the real feel. Yep, shouldn't have looked. Real feel is -9. Now I feel cold.
it's cold here this morning..46*
Brrrrrr that's really cold for your area.
I was going to say maybe you can ask and someone will send you a link but I see @vickyday is already on the ball and sent you the day you missed. I love that about the O and how helpful everyone is.

Not much happening here. Like all of you its cold, and will stay indoors as much as possible. I have a couple layouts to do for the 12days. I got the games all done but I think I have day 12 and 10 to do for layouts. Need to triple check as games ends before LO end. Off to feed the dogs. Need to dress warm for when they want out. The only time I am sorry we have so many eagles around is when its cold and I cant send the little out alone. Oh well, they're cute so its worth dressing up for. Maybe I can send the boys out instead. yeah, that sounds like a great plan. :giggle4: :brrr::giggle4:
Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. It's been a busy morning and I still need to run a few errands (pick up polar bear photo for framing...yay) and then get home to shower and get ready for the party.

Tomorrow I'll be getting food ready and tidying up for our house party tomorrow night. It's going to be a fun wkend. Sunday the dogs get their santa photos which is always fun.

Never got a chance to do any challenges but I didn't expect to, not with D in the hospital these last 2 wks and trying to organize 2 parties and get my decorations up. But, everything is going along smoothly, I think. Darrell is home, feels good and I think I'm on top of all party plans.

Cold today - 19 C (2F) with wind chill is -28 (-18F), no sunshine today, just clouds. It's so icy out there and I am still sore from last weeks tumble that I will bring Remi with me to pic up the photo and then stop at the park for a few minutes for her to run around while I stand at the edge of the parking lot.

@faerywings I bet the field trip goes splendidly today, as it always does.

@BoatLady Still haven't introduced our friends to bunco yet, I should.

@AK_Tracy I'm jealous that you have so much wildlife around you, especially the eagles. We have the odd one here and there but don't see them too often around here.

I'd better get out of here. HAGD everyone.
