Please, help me sleep like a normal person again. I can't keep doing this to myself. I feel awful and cranky and bleary.

I did get quite a bit done yesterday. Still not enough but more. I made the pinecone firestarters, that was the big project and mess of the day. I have to get them into bags today. I also did what? Little stuff here and there. The big "shopping" was that I got some cheap candy for the family's stocking at Dollar General and some stuff I needed for the house. They have flat rate shipping so it wasn't too bad. I wish they had ship-to-store like Walgreens but $6 to ship here is worth not having to go inside. Did I tell you that my little, semi-rural town is averaging over 30 cases a day? It is so bad. SMH :( I also got Mad Libs for the fam! Star Wars for Gary, Pirates for Scott, and Spooky for Caitlyn. That should be fun for a game night.
The *best: part of my day was this:

Isn't she gorgeous???

Remember when Scott's tarantula escaped and Jean asked me for some photos of her? Jean used them to paint Rita. I was freaking out since I had no gifts for him so I asked Jean if she were willing to take a picture of the painting so I could print it for him, I knew he would get a kick out of seeing it.
In case you are wondering *wink*, Jean is a talented artist and an amazingly generous person and friend. She scanned the painting, added some doodles (you can see Scott and Rita's name up there), and sent me the files to print and frame. Thank you again, Jean!
I can't wait for Christmas!

My parents are coming up this morning, looks like it shouldn't be too cold. I think I am going to bake another batch of cookies- pecan pie bars. (not Bras, silly typo fingers! :p). More gifts and housework.
So much to do and so little time/energy. Ya feel me?

Wishing everyone a relaxing, productive, and happy day!

I resized the photo too small so you can't see Scott's and Rita's names in the scribbles, but they are there

Felis-the news seems to be bad all over. The US is experiencing a huge spike in shoplifting, mostly food, diapers, and baby formula. Heartbreaking and scary to see it happening.
I find that when I look for old photos and I see pics of my Harley (dog and soulmate) I end up reaching to try and pet her on my screen. It makes it harder, doesn't it?
I hope that today you are feeling better- and one nice thing you can do is look at your avatar, always makes me smile.

Rae- how are you and the family today? You must have been exhausted, hope that the sleep was restful.
How is Taz doing? When you can, share some pics of him... I love his little face!

Trudy- Hunter was being a skootch, wasn't he? LOL How sweet to read him Elmo stories. Are the boys getting excited for Santa? Happy birthday to your DS!!!! When does Canada think that "ordinary" people will be able to get vaccinated? GMTA-- Felis' avi makes me smile too!

Cheryl- drat! all of that driving and the store didn't have what you needed. I am glad that you didn't make the trip and are feeling better today. Magic Bras and naughty flakes- that is how I roll! :smokin:
All of the big corps have us little people over the barrel, don't they? So maddening. Typically, I try to balance my shopping with some box store/some local/some handmade Etsy stuff. This year that went out the window. Next year, I hope it will be better.

Kay- whoa, your weather sure was bonkers.
Ye-ouch!!!!Is your finger hurting any less today? Be careful with it.
I really want to to the Border Challenge. I need to put some time aside for myself. (but will I? Enquiring minds want to know! Practical minds will say- Nope she won't haha!)
My Game is today and I will need to spend some time there. The Show-Me game is always a fun one!

Morning, all. Not going to do much posting as the finger is really sore this morning. Since it is the middle finger on my right hand... nearly everything I do puts pressure on it and that makes it hurt. Trying to figure out how to shower and shampoo my hair without getting the bandage on it wet. Think I will put on a tight fitting rubber glove and then use masking tape to seal the edge. I did manage to clip the fingernail short then rebandage it last evening. That stopped catching the nail tip and putting pressure on the injury. Never had an injury like this in all the years I have had very long natural nails. Think it was due to the ground beef being stiff from cold - took it out the fridge just minutes before the injury. But... must admit how delicious the cabbage rolls were for dinner last evening. Need to move the 4 large lidded bowls filled with cabbage rolls from fridge to freezer this morning. Going to have to move stuff around in the freezer to get space for them.

We had sleet and rain last evening and woke up to a bit of rain but now the sun is shining. Have another storm heading in some time today. So we may get snow out of it.

Chris, love the painting... I am sure that Scott will love it.

Time to quit typing... finger is too sore. CYL

Morning ladies... I am pooped out! I have been awake since 3am and could not for the life of me fall back to sleep!! :mmph: I spent the last hour or so on face time with Heather and Hunter and he showed me how he could play Sonic the Hedgehog on the PS3. What a hoot as Heather and I tried to explain to him how to stay on the road LOL. Now I am ready to crawl back into my nice warm bed and get at least another hour in of sleep. Swimming at noon and I hope to finish off my page for the border challenge at some point today. I got started on it yesterday, but then got a call from DH would I pick him up at the ophthalmologist as they had dilated his eye and he shouldn't be driving. He finally got an appt. to have his eye laser done. A few months ago he was seeing some blurring in the eye that he had the cataract removed in, so he need to go in to have the scar tissue removed. He is seeing so much better today!! Anyway he ended up being home for the afternoon and needless to say I never did get back to finish my page.

Chris - Wow what a great gift for Scott! I know that he will love it! Jean is so amazing for doing that for you! Hope that you can start to sleep better soon! Me too!! What is wrong with us and our bad sleep patterns :noidea:

Kay - OUCH on your poor finger! Try to keep from typing too much today, hope you can get your shower and hair washed without getting the bandaid wet! Your cabbage rolls sound so delicious, my hubby loves them too and its been way too long since we have had them. Hope the snow doesn't show up!

Ok I am off to my nice warm bed for a bit. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can get at least another hour in

Good morning ladies. Had a quiet night and went to bed early. Today I hope to start decorating the tree and will finish it up over the wkend.

Not much going on except for the usual work, chores, etc. My mojo is still not back to normal but I am not surprised. In the meantime, I will read more and binge watch shows.

Chris - the painting is wonderful, S will love it!

Trudy - have a good swim.

I'm getting to work, hopefully will take break this afternoon and decorate the tree a bit. Have a good day everyone. BFN

Good afternoon! Chris, that picture of the tarantula is fabulous! Jean, you are SO talented! I don't like spiders, but I love that picture!

Yes, I'm like you Chris, I normally try to spread the money around and do local shopping if at all possible, but this year was not that kind of a year. One year, I was so proud of myself for shopping small, local businesses. It felt so good to support them. Maybe next year.

I'm going to be quick on here, too. Got to get some stuff done today - I'm running out of time.

Hugs to all.

Hello dears,
it's festive day for my family and fortunately weather cooperated to be able to make lovely long dog walk and make short meet with few of our closest friends outside. What to say strange times. I'm feeling exhausted, but at happy way.

Chris, this is absolutely fabulous! What a brilliant idea! And Jean's work is stunning!

Kay, OMG, this sounds very painful! Is it correct to guess that the cold weather make this finger feels even worse?

Trudy, hope the nap is helped! Oh your little kiddos are so sweet, especially liked yesterday's story! Happy birthday to your son! I hope he had nice one!

Rae, , decoration is for glory of the little baby Jesus, for many years it was something frugally on Christmas eve, so do what your hearts dictate you and forget for expectations from previous years.

Cheryl, this is one of the things for which me and Chris will never agree. I'm terrible in local shopping, it's so expensive, and I know most of these people and hate their attitude!!! But me and my sister shop very often from etsy and other small crafters, she have talent to find best small stores at the web.

Jean, compliments for your talent!

Nancy, .

I'm happy my avi likes to you, it's a part of very cute jigsaw puzzles series. It's pretty close to my Christmas, just without hats and with way more chaos. :eek2:
