No no no. I promised myself I wouldn't freak out over the dates. Nope. I won't. Not at all.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Guess what????

I am FREAKING OUT!!!!

Just in case you didn't notice, Christmas Eve is in 2 weeks. Two. Weeks.

*deep breaths*

14 days is a long time. (if you are in jail. Or hungry. Not so long if you have a gazillion things on your to-do list.)
*stop freaking yourself out, Faery*

OK. I got this!!

In case you were wondering I did not get to make the coffee butter yesterday. I should have reread the instructions because you have to strain the grinds from the oil and then it needs to settle for 24 hours. Whoops. I did get it all strained and it was sort of settling by dinner time. It should be perfect this afternoon when I attempt to turn it into butter. Just straining it took long enough, should have started it on Wednesday. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. Since my plans got messed up a bit, I figured I would move on to the next thing- bath bombs. Except for the big bag of critic acid only had a small scoop left. Let's move on to the third thing then--
I baked. I baked a double batch of sweet potato dog treats and then a batch of shortbreads. Not Gary's shortbreads he was home all day and I am hoping I will still find a time to do it when he is not. I should make them when he is still asleep in the morning.
Anyway - I spent all day in the kitchen and my floor is now disgusting, LOL I have oily coffee grinds, oatmeal, and flour all caked on it. Throw in a lot of dog saliva from licking at the crumbs for the dog treats and it needs to be *scrubbed.*

Caitlyn is doing a bit better. Sad still but knows she made the right decision for Liv. Yesterday was the three-year adopt-aversary of tat, Liv, and Dilly, and only Dilly is left. I spoiled her by giving her pieces of chicken and sweet potato. And that Evvie is so mean- she bit my finger trying to get the sweet potato!

Gary was able to get Jaida back in to see the vet about her ear. The growth in her ear doubled in size and was bleeding. The vet said again it looks benign- to me, it looks like a papilloma like Ray had- but they set up a surgery date for mid-January. Non-emergency surgeries are backed up until then He said it might be one of those things that go up and down in size and if it isn't bothering her, doesn't need to be removed. But if it does, better to have the surgery date than not.
(It is always something!)

I am off to do some more in-person Christmas shopping this morning. I really have so little for Scott, he says to not worry about it but it is what I do LOL

I feel terrible that I haven't been here for the party as much as I would like.

Have fun today!

Good morning lOvely ladies! I have been walked by my son... and I am ready to start a new day. @faerywings I had the very same realization this morning...if it's the 10th we are only 2 weeks from Christmas Eve. Oh my goodness, I am so not ready. Had a very good day yesterday. We each packed an overnight bag in case we decided to stay. But after the tour we decided that we had it in us to make the drive home. And boy am I glad that we did. I'd hate to have that drive this morning.

She liked Florida State. It is so different there from this part of the state. Reminded me a bit of home...leaves were turning colors and leaves all over the ground. I do miss that. It is a good school. She has lots of very good options but I will certainly be happy when that has been decided.

@faerywings, glad that Cait is doing better. Sorry that the coffee butter is turning out to be such a long undertaking. You need to tell me more...what do you use coffee butter for?

@LSlycord how was the tour? Hope that you and Sydney had a fun day and that you were able to split some of the driving. I bet you were *very* happy that you didn't have to go to work today ;)
I am LMBO over Shaun taking the old folks for a walk LOL
You know that's the hardest part of all of this- that I can't make things better for the kids. Frustrating and heartbreaking, sometimes being a mom bites.

@tanteva I was going to cracka joke about you knitting yourself new clothes while you didn't have a washer. But it isn't a joke--you did it! Looks FAB!!!! Have a good day back today. Tomorrow is Saturday and you can relax all day, hopefully

@BrightEyes I wouldn't; want to have to drive out to the base either. Much better to wait until the weather is nicer.
Glad that the pics made you smile!

@taxed4ever Did you have a good, productive day?
The hike sounds wonderful, exhilarating, and *exhausting.* LOL How cool that next week's hike is by your ILs. That stinks he can't go on the hike.
The weekend sounds wonderful-- happy early b-day to Jason!

@bcgal00 any good news updates on my little guy? He isn't in any pain, is he? Sending good thoughts to all of you and very gentle belly rubs. Poor Remi probably doesn't understand why he doesn't want to play

@Cherylndesigns Caitlyn will sit on my lap frequently- and I will sit on hers. My family seems to be about as kooky as yours and I mean that in a GOOD way LOL
Give Tex a guitar and I bet he can come up with a song for My Boots and Bow,

Sorry about the power and the boosters. Everything is full-on chaos everywhere.
Hope you are able to find somewhere to get them today

Buddy the O'Elf just wanted to drop in this morning and wish all of you ladies a very good day! (And you know Elf wishes are special---they have magical powers.) So, Buddy's wish is that you all get lots of things on your To Do list accomplished.

Tallahassee is a wonderful city - or at least it was when I lived there in the mid and late 80s. I earned my bachelors at FSU and had the time of my life at the ball games when Bobby Bowden's boys ruled! I didn't live in the dorms because I was older but loved it there. Not like the rest of Florida at all!

Wow, girls this is terrible! Chris I hope it's papilloma and not Lymphoma and Rae I hope that post-operative care wouldn't be too painful for Taz. Sending hugs and healing vibes in both directions!:rolleyes:

Chris, oh it must be so difficult for Scott, but I think I can understand him. As you know my sister was forced to move to other country to can my BIL got the payment he deserve for his skills. Sometimes the work you love is not at the place you live and you can success only if you move to live on new place, or to stay and sacrifice your skills starting work something boring as I did. It really depends what kind of human you are, but I see the both side. I'm not exactly sure what he searching for, but at the past year I saw many garden centers to offer position via Instagram. It's much more powerful than LinkedIn for people who aren't much experienced. Be sure that you follow all places and check they stories regularly.

Linda a campus tour sounds very exciting although probably makes you sad too. Times really fly!

Trudy, what a lovely plans for the end of the hiking year! Hope that the weather will cooperate!

Cheryl, I hope that you get your power back on time! So happy to hear that your hand is recovered so fast!

Eva this poncho is so cool! And I absolutely love the yarn you are bought on Black Friday, can't wait to see in what will turns on!

Actually I want to talk exactly for the YouTube channel that Eva shows to us. Thank you for sharing it! I watched few of the videos and they are so interesting and inspiring.
According to the last video I'm in team Prancer and I'm chill as my Christmas tasks are almost ready. The house is not completely decorated, but it's only because we are waiting all these rituals that comes with the current family situation. Have to to pass more days to be ticked more rituals, so to get back more freedom. This was amazing year, definitely the best year at my life and I'm still very excited about that but secretly of course. To ends up so sad gives me some sort of feeling for balance. But also makes me very impatient all this to end and to go back to regular!

One of these video's gives me an awesome new project. This one, I'm guilt in hoarding almost every point of this list (I think without too), so it is something that I definitely will try! :) But I'm wondering is it better for end of the year or to start the new. Any suggestions? When you prefer to clean/organizing your space?

Edit: hhhh, the autocorrect is changed some of the words with really ridiculous suggestions, sorry about that! I have no idea what's happens today.

Back for personals. (And Buddy, aren't you the sweetest, using one of your magical Elf wishes for all of us!)

@tanteva I love your poncho. I so want to be able to knit and crochet. Put it on my very long bucket list... Seriously, you need to make a page with that picture of your poncho and a picture of the washing machine...you are so funny that I bet the page would be hilarious about how when the washing machine breaks down, you make your own new clothes.

@BrightEyes I am definitely waiting for that release of Top Gun II. I have been waiting and waiting...each Covid delay causes me such sadness. However, we haven't been to a theater since before the pandemic so I guess I can wait. I do want to go see West Side Story though so may find a time to go to a matinee during the week when it won't be crowded. I saw Rita Moreno talking about the movie on The Voice the other night. She will be 90 tomorrow...and she was in the movie and a producer. And I complain about my age...guess I need to suck it up! Glad that you didn't drive to the pharmacy...if you don't need to drive in bad weather, why do it.

@taxed4ever it sounds like you have an amazing weekend ahead. The Christmas fondue sounds like so much fun. We have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night...I may think about doing a Christmas fondue. Enjoy your hiking!

@bcgal00 I am so sorry about Taz. If you are having to walk him every 20 minutes, you surely deserve to have that do something. Hope that you can get that surgery scheduled soon. But what I really hope is that he gives you the ultimate present on one of his walks and there is no need for surgery.

@Cherylndesigns I can't believe that you lost power and your internet. Of course, you are an old pro at making due with a hotspot for internet usage. Hope it didn't last long but you do need to trade something for that beautiful weather you are getting.

Got to run now and get some things accomplished. Oh my.

It is very cool. And, of course would have been pretty special when the football was at it's peak! We started the tour at the Sports Shop and they had t-shirts for the D1 NCAA Champion Women's Soccer team. Syd was a soccer player for years so I think that she would enjoy watching that. And, of course baseball is pretty amazing over there too. We will see...

I know! When Eva @tanteva shared it, I was like: ''I have no need of more cleaning ideas'',
but there is huge difference between cleaning on which I'm on the top, and organizing space, I think I'm somewhere few feet under the bottom. My grandparents was very poor and they gives me this habit to hoarder absolutely everything, because someday I can (eventually) use it at creative way. It's definitely something that I want to change!

Wow, so many O-gals are up and posting early today! Had to get my Border LO into the gallery first before coming in here. So many wonderful LOs in the gallery - had to take a few minutes to comment on them. Amazing the talent and creativity shown here!!

Anyway - I spent all day in the kitchen and my floor is now disgusting, LOL I have oily coffee grinds, oatmeal, and flour all caked on it. Throw in a lot of dog saliva from licking at the crumbs for the dog treats and it needs to be *scrubbed.*
@faerywings - there is always something going on at your house... I was LOL at the visions of you and the dogs slipping and sliding around. Not that it is funny that the floor is messed up.. but that you had the dogs under your feet as you tried to catch your balance. Ah... forgetting to re-read instructions for the coffee butter - that might be something I would do...

@LSlycord Did your son have to put a leach on you to take you for a walk??? hehehe... Guess my funny imagination is in full swing this morning!! :D Glad your trip to Tallahassee and the tour was so good. I am with you as I can't wait until Top Gun: Maverick is released. I haven't been to the movie theater in over 2 years - so not sure I will go when it is released. May just wait for the DVD to come out.

Man... I am going to have to clip my fingernails... they are so long that they keep hitting the wrong keys as I type so I spend more time redoing words. Back later after I get them done...

Good morning ladies. As for Taz, I'm happy to say that there were no rough edges to the obstruction and it looks like he eliminated it. He is still struggling and it will take some time to heal the inflammation and irritation but the vet feels he should recover now without surgery. I still have to watch him carefully, watch his eliminations and the vet recommended that I continue the probiotic powder, pumpkin and plain greek yogurt with a bit of rice indefinitely. Taz loves it so for now its not a problem getting him to eat it. He was much more playful last night and Remi was thrilled that her wresting partner was back in business. They are racing around the house now, barking and tackling each other. This has been a scary week. I'm exhausted but did sleep better last night.

Today I need to sort thru Xmas bins to see what to put on the tree. We are going to only decorate the top half b/c of Remi. Last night the dogs were on two legs, dancing around together, wrestling and they laid up against the tree LOL. That is why there will be no breakables and no dangling ornaments on the lower part.

@faerywings 2 wks...ugh. I am not looking forward to these next few wks. So much to do and I'll be exhausted (more than usual) by Xmas. But when the day comes, I will enjoy it and somehow everything gets done.

@LSlycord Yes, Taz did leave the ultimate present LOL.

@felis I have been decluttering for awhile now but still have so much to do but since we're going to sell the house in the next year or so, I have to work harder at sorting, purging and donating. I have to say, the more I do it, the easier it gets. At first I didn't want to get rid of things but now I'm really ok about it. I had to laugh when the lady in the video mentioned hobby stuff b/c I still have a room full of scrapbook stuff that I won't use anymore and it is hard to let that go, it was such a big part of my life for years as a paper scrapper/card maker but I know its time.

I'm getting coffee, getting to work and then hopefully sorting thru Xmas stuff later. Have a good day everyone.

I am so late arriving here today! DH and I have been busy moving furniture and putting up the tree. Of course while moving furniture I had to get the vacuum out, man there was a lot of dust behind our big TV!! It is cleaned up and the huge pile of wires are all nice and tidy again. The res of the day will be spent finishing the decorating and cleaning up the mess from it. I am like Chris and feel very badly that I have not been here very much for the 12 days of Christmas. It's just going to get more hectic for me in the next week as I prepare for the kids and grands to come. I will have them here with us from the 17th until the 21st then they head over to the other grandparents and back here again on the 26th when we will have our Christmas together. They will leave on the evening of the 29th and catch their flight home very, very early on the 30th. I am afraid I will be MIA for a bit before they get here, just so I can have things ready.

@faerywings - Chris I totally am freaking out over the date too!! I suppose I know that it will all get done, but oh my I have way too many things on my to do list to complete!! Praying that the lump is not cancerous and that your Jaida is not in any pain! I hope that the coffee butter turns out amazing for you when you finally get it done LOL. I also need to find a few more things for Isaac as his sister has way more gifts to open at this point. However we keep being told that all he really wants is money, but that's no fun to open!!

@LSlycord - Sounds like your tour of the University was so good! Nice that you were walked again by your son LOL. It has always been a tradition in our families to have a Christmas fondue and my brother and Sister-In-Law put on the best ones! I can hardly wait!

@BrightEyes - you having to clip your nails reminds me of when my daughter used to play piano, her teacher was always on her to clip her beautiful long nails, she couldn't stand the clicking sound it made on the keys LOL. Heather used to be such an amazing piano player, sadly she can no longer make her beautiful music :(. Yes the gallery is filled with beauty and I have been so bad for not spending as much time as I should commenting.

@felis - How nice that you have gotten some great tips from Eva's video share! I really do need to watch it, just haven't had the time lately. I am really hoping the weather is good for our final hike of this year, but it looks like it will most likely be raining .

@bcgal00 - Doing a happy dance for you and Taz!! So wonderful that he will not need the surgery, bet your pocket book is happy too!! Yup such a busy time of the year for everyone, but you are right, it will all get done! I am doing the same as you and sorting through yet more bins to see what can stay and what can go. Its time to let most of it go I think.

Alright DH is calling me to help him put the second bedside table together. Have a great friday everyone!!

Hello my lovelies! Holy Krikies (sp?) I totally spaced on the fact that this is the tenth!! Kay @BrightEyes I saw your post and hit myself upside the head. Picture that emoji. LOLOL

My goodness, this forum is bustling. First of all, I slept late - yay for me! First time all week I haven't waked up early. I must have needed it. I had a busy day yesterday - I DID get the all clear on my shoulder, though (maybe I told you all, I can't remember). Haha_ What I didn't tell you was that we had to wait FOREVER - I hate going to any doctor, and then to have to wait as long as we had to wait about did me in. Then, I thought it was somebody's stinky perfume, but it turned out to be Christmas candles that the nurses were burning. I'm highly allergic to certain scents - this one in particular - it was vanilla'y. I developed a raging migraine - my hhead literally felt like it was expanding and contracting. it was throbbing so badly. In Florida, at least in the medical facility we went to, they didn't allow anyone to wear perfume. So many people are allergic and there were signs all over the place. My DD was an MA there and she said they were super strict about scents. I called her when I got home to vent.

We tried to get our boosters - Chuck found some aspirin in the glovebox, so I decided to tough it out, then (I know I told you this) they were out of them. I hadn't had a Migraine for a long time and I think it took it's toll on me. Anyway, I slept in this morning. We found out that Walgreen's has them, so we're going there Monday. The clinic we went to didn't know when they'd get anymore in. I'd rather go to Walgreen's anyway.

I cannot believe that Christmas is in 2 weeks. Trudy @taxed4ever glad you got your tree up and I had to laugh about the mass of wires. I hate those tangled things and always try to cover them or hide them. One year, I made a box to put over them. I'm sure you're looking forward to the grands coming. It will be a busy, but fun time. Our youngest daughter and youngest grandson will be here on the 22nd and leave on the 29. We have to share Asher with his dad - he'll be in Missouri, at his dad's. I guess if we meet up, it's only an hour and a half. each way. I'm not looking forward to a 3 hour drive, but I'll take what I can get.

Kay @BrightEyes I had to chuckle about you hitting the wrong keys. I used to let mine get too long, but now, since I took my acrylics off, they're pretty short. I miss my long nails, though. It was so much easier to pick things up.

Rae, @bcgal00 good news about Taz, and I hear you about sorting and purging. Felis @felis it's not easy to collect stuff. We did a major purge when we moved and downsized, but I swear it's growing again. I don't know where it comes from. I think it just reproduces at night while we're sleeping.

Chris @faerywings I really do need to find a little guitar for Tex or Lex - maybe between the two of them they could write me a "Boots and Bows" song. LOL I definitely think our families are probably about as cray-cray as each other's. I know ours is. I never know what's going to go on when we're all together. It's nothing for 3 kids and a dog to be piled in one chair. I have a picture of that, actually, but can't lay my hands on it. I titled it "we only need one chair". It's Ava, Alyssa, Asher sitting on their laps and Daisy on the same chair. They're all watching phones, of course. Here are 2 pictures of Ava sitting on Adrienne's lap - they didn't know I was getting ready to take their picture, then they laughed. I used it on a LO and said something like "this is how we roll". Hahaha They were covered up with one of my throws and of course, there's usually a dog in every picture.

Linda @LSlycord didn't mean to leave you out. I'm glad you're out walking - you have NO excuse - unless it's thunderstorming (or raining). Hahahaha

Waving to all and Happy Friday.
