Good Morning to the Ooos! How is everyone today? Other than a very bad headache, I am good. The headache will be taken care of with some Advil as soon as I get something in my stomach. Something other than coffee, at least. *winks*

I went with Cait to her eye dr appt and it was darn hot sitting in the car- it was 91* but I survived even as I sweated. I actually painted my nails. I have a very disgusting habit of chewing them, especially when I am stressed and it is to the point where it gets painful. Sometimes the nail polish reminds me to not bite them. Other times, I will pick at polish instead but at least that lets the nails grow back a bit. Cait is going to give contacts a try. She has been wearing glasses for years but they are a PITA when she has to wear a mask. And as long as it seems like masks are going to be sticking around for a while, it makes sense to do that now. It helps *a lot* that our insurance covered the eye exam and gives $100 to put toward a lens purchase.

Caitlyn and I finished a puzzle and I cleaned the house a bit. And that was my day. Today I am working in my office but plan to spend more time outside. It is supposed to rain this weekend so I might as well do that while I can.

Gratitudes:
-sunshine and fresh air
-spending time with Cait in the car, we listened to the Hamilton soundtrack and decided we liked Lin-Manuel Miranda's versions of the Founding Fathers better than the old white dudes.:p
-Gary was able to sleep in bed last night, which means his restless legs were not as bad as they had been all week. The other night, I yelled at him in my sleep to stop twitching and cracking. I did apologize...
-all of you!

Hugs!!!

Trudy- did I screw up the date again yesterday or is it that "time confusion" hit you too? :D
I hope that you get some rain soon so things aren't so dry. We are supposed the get the tail end of Laura tonight/tomorrow but the worst of it looks to be south of me. But I would send the rain to you if I could.
Did you get to swim yesterday? Any news when your pool will reopen? That is awesome that you can get fresh picked berries. I am sure that your family is excited to get the pies and jam.
I saw that the NHL went on strike last night too- are they picking back up with the games tonight, good luck!
I called the library and they said that we can only put holds on books that are in my town library rather than through the county's loan system. No transporting of books between libraries stinks because my library is small. At least I know why.
I have a few recurring dreams and losing my teeth is one of them too! I think I read that is has to do with loss of control? yeah, that one, my "last day at Disney and we didn't go to the parks once" and now the shopping without masks seem to be the prevalent dreams for me.
I don't think the chicken patties would shred. It s the stuff that is pressed together to look like a check breast if that makes sense. Gary put tomato sauce and mozzarella on it and said it was fine.

Jean- Is a Brown Boobie the best friend of a titmouse? :pound: (I am sure that bird joke has been said a million times before even if only by 3rd grade boys!)
*ahem. clears throat and acts like an adult again*
That is actually very cool to see that bird and that you got a chance to spend the day doing something different and exciting!

Cheryl- oh my goodness, I didn't even think of you having to travel through Laura!! I am terrified that you drove through it and that is even knowing that you are safe in AR. That photo was crazy with the rain. :(
Have a safe rest of the trip, tell Daisy I am proud of her!

Morning everyone! Not a cloud in the sky this morning! I am spending the morning making Blackberry Jelly. Not much else happening around here, so its a good day to do that! I picked up one bucket of berries yesterday and will be getting the other three today sometime. I am going to be very busy with Jelly making for a couple of days! The family loves it, but I do not eat it. All that work and I don't even get to enjoy it LOL. DH will be happiest to have the pies in the freezer!

Chris - At least your Gary can have the chicken with tomato sauce and mozza cheese :hungry: Ha, Ha I laughed at your Brown Boobie joke!! too funny (says my grade 3 self). I did not get to swim yesterday, its a long drive to get to the Lake and the Lake at the bottom of our hill is not one that anyone should swim in!! YUCK!! It gets an algae bloom when the temps get warm and turns green, although I have seen people water skiing and pulling tubes but I sure wouldn't want to fall into that!! No word as to when the pool will re-open here, there are a few over on the Mainland that have re-opened, but I am not sure how we would be able to do laps unless it was only one person per lap lane. Would be allowed to use the showers and change rooms?? :noidea: Yes hockey is on hold at least for a few days. I think that it is supposed to start again on Saturday, but we will see. I hope that you get to be outdoors today! Heather says that they are getting the tail end of the Hurricane there, so they are having showers off and on and some wind, but nothing too bad.

Jean - How lovely to have a sighting so rare!! Glad that you DH was willing to drive to see the Brown Boobie! (who thinks of these names?). Hope that you are having a good day and that you get to see more birds!!

Cheryl - OMG! That is a lot of rain and poor visibility! How scary to think that the wind was picking up your big vehicle like that! Nice to know you made it safely through the storm and now are on your last part of the trip! You will be so happy to be arriving to your new home and then the work of unpacking, but how exciting!! I am so happy for you!

Well my juice is almost ready to start cooking so I will get going on the Jelly making. It will be one batch done and many more to go. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

good day - well yesterday and today have been very inspiring. The NHL was in a quandary as what to do about playing games vs the making a statement against social injustice. There were several players who came forward saying they needed to take time to reflect to see what next they can do and to help the NHL with new initiatives. As with all the professional sports leagues this pause it to courage fans to reflect on the crisis in our country. Had a nice talk with my sister. Things in AZ seem to be improving Covid wise so that is good. My sister is so happy her eye surgery went well and she is so happy with the sight now. That is funny! My DH made banana bread for the weekend and it is so good. So without hockey I have been watching a new show for me called "In to the Dark" the adventures of a blind woman. She gets tangled into some really dark messes. Also watched two movies "the Healer" which I watched because it takes place in Nova Scotia. The second was "Wild in Africa" with Rob Lowe which I watched because of elephants in Africa. Not much scrapping.

Chris we in my part of NJ are getting lots of storms. And more until Sunday. How nice to go with Cait. Good luck with the contacts.

Trudy wow that is a lot of berries especially if you don't eat them. Though I do know there is a lot of joy in making them for family who really do love them.

Waving to all.
Have a good day!

Hello my lovely Cheerio-s! Thanks for your concern - it was actually quite frightening and even more so since we discovered that it was really probably worse than we knew at the time! We made it to Oklahoma - finally!! We are cozied up in a hotel room waiting on our wayward furniture to arrive. It should be here sometime in the next few days. These cross country moves are full of so many if's. We did hear from the moving coordinator today and she said that the truck was on it's way.

This trip has been so full of craziness that we decided we should write at least a short story about it. When we finally got into Hattiesburg MS last night, the power was out at the Hilton and they were running on generators. At least we got a room. We had been ordering from Grub Hub for the whole time and nothing was available last night. We were starving! We had two bags of chips with us and my husband went downstairs and somehow found food for us - even though nothing was open in the entire hotel. He's a magic man!

Then at 4 AM, we were awakened by screeching sirens blaring into our room and announcements to exit our rooms - do not take the elevators - and come to the main entrance. This place was huge and we were on the 5th floor. Everybody was panicking and people were out in the hall ways pulling on their clothes. The noise was deafening and poor Daisy was totally traumatized. Then we saw the firemen in their "gear" all over the bottom floor - the whole center was open and you could see downstairs. We all just knew there was a fire in the building. Before we could make our way downstairs, they came over the loud speakers and told us to return to our rooms that everything was under control. We found out this morning that it was a false alarm.

Well, today was uneventful - a gorgeous day - and we finally got here. Of course, there had to be a hitch. We made reservations at this Best Western in Tahlequah that was dog friendly and when we got here, they said they didn't have us in their computer. That took about an hour to get straightened out. We finally got a room and now we have to figure out where our reservation went - because they were already paid for. My hubby finally said "just give us a room and we'll argue out the money later". Geeze

Chris, I just read that Gary has restless legs - has he ever taken medication for them? I have them too and I take medication now and it's been a miracle drug.

Trudy, your jelly sounds delish - wish I had some right now.

Good morning girls!
As Trudy I also was busy with making jam. It was lovely Traditional Housewife's day with processing jam and in additional knitting. Then my family notice same as Chris, that these just a few jars of jam will probably cost us more for sugar and electricity than if I was bought the same number jars from favorite brand. It's true but frustrating that they do not appreciate the importance of tradition to be keeped. Then on the middle of the knitting project I wasn't happy at all how the pattern is turn, so I give up and will have to start it on clear. It's so much difficult to concentrate in following patterns scheme as my mind is always distracted by my own thoughts and fantasies to can stay focused for long enough. Same as with the reading. So I goes from extremely excited to totally demotivated, and I'm wondering is that how bipolar people feels about everything?! Must be so exhausting.

Jean, how exciting to see this bird!

Chris, how nice that you went with Cait! Do you know that these long lasting Gel Nail Polishes are available with lamps for home use. I watched video at Youtube. But me instead don't polish my nails (except for date  ) even I keep my nails as long as it's possible with this constant use of cleaning products that damaged them.

Trudy, it sad that you can't taste your own jelly and even more that we are unable to exchange them. It would be interesting and very tasty!

Cheryl, oh as well when you are finally settled and all is calm this will become in a lovely story to repeats on parties and family meetings! The photo book about this will be awesome! Write your journal till all impressions are still fresh! Oh, Give hugs and belly rub to Daisy!

Nancy, nice that you have what interesting to watch! Honestly I found it very frustrating that sports and artist takes place in political movements. I'm start to mute these who constantly post slogans! If you are really involved in resolving some problem, I'm OK, supporting with two hands people like Nikki Reed who have cause and share photos how she work for it! But if the only things you do is to post slogans as "Say her name" between your beach photos, oh come on, this is such a hypocrite! I mean how many of these sportsman and artists knows really something about Breonna Taylor? How many of them are support the school when she is study, fix her favorite park, put a bench on her favorite place, or something like that. Symbolic things that don't take much effort, but are more than just to use her case to show the world how caring person YOU are, until you closed the social media and totally forgot for her. This with putting her on graffiti art was something! I'm not sure what is the latest drama in your country, sorry! :mmph:
