Hey there o-zies! Is it just me or did this week fly by very fast? It feels like I was just saying TGIF. The entire month seems to have gone by quickly and I realized that there are only a few more weeks of me taking the dogs out in the morning when it is going to be light and not freezing cold (to me).
There is something inside of me that gets "angry" when I need to take the dogs out, it's pitch dark and cold, and haven't had any coffee. Angry isn't the right word- but annoyed and aggravated sure are. #angry2

I spent several hours tidying my office and you would never know the difference. pfft. I threw out a bunch of stuff but there is still so much clutter. It's mostly tchotchkes (that took several tries to get it close enough for the spell check to fix it LOL) things and notes that the kids gave me when they were small. Can't get rid of most of them. ♥
I scrapped in the afternoon and made the BBQ chicken grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner-- very yummy.

I am meeting BFF for coffee this morning. Once she starts back at work FT (she works for a school district), I won't get to see her very often. :(
And that is about it. Love to you all!

@vickyday How was the day out with your friends? Did you find anything good at the thrift store?
Fantastic news about Mark getting more hours! Such a relief! There are a lot of benefits to working at a smaller place and #4 (small business) tends to be one of them IMHO.
That is so sweet that you got the plants to help your granddaughter which turned out to be a gift to Mark. I love tomatoes and noted that I need to buy at least 1-2 more of the grape tomato plants next year. I can snack on them all day.

@BrightEyes Did you say what you are reading right now? Must be really good to stay up so late.
That sounds like me-- I put on/take off clothes all day long it seems, esp this time of year. I always have blankets on me when Gary and I watch tv. Good weather and traffic thoughts too DD#3 when she has to travel
TY for the heads up with Bitmoji, I read over their privacy policy. I don't use it on FB and only occasionally on my phone. But I will be cautious when I do use it. Part of me wants to protect my online privacy very much and other times I shake my head since that horse has been out of the barn a long time ago.

@taxed4ever That is what I worry about when school starts here next week. Covid, monkeypox, plus polio now -- all in my area. Bananas!!! It's freaking bananas! #crazy
The game is based on the Disney ride- that is what caught Scott's eye. We all want to go back but that isn't happening, it is hard to not get jealous. :( Good luck to FIL, any news on his tests yet?

@Cherylndesigns Did you sleep ok the last few nights? Hope you are feeling better today.
yes, my friend does have a suit of armor *and* and iron maiden -- but that is upstairs and I only go up there once a month.
Thankfully, Scott does not have covid, I was worried that he might get it from being at the music festival for 4 days *knocks wood*
Aren't you the sweetest thing???? That is soooo nice of you to think of me re: the lemon balm!! ♥

@pachimac How was the girls' night with Meli? did you figure out what to eat? How can anyone pass up pizza? You have much more willpower than me.

@Betty Jo Thank you again for the ♥ tip, as you can see I use it a lot! Hope that the rest of your day was less scattered. I bet it felt nice to scrap again!

Morning ladies! We are supposed to have scattered showers all day, but so far not a cloud in sight. I got my hair all done and it sure feels so much better! Nice and soft and silky again. For a few days anyway and then it will start to feel dry again :(. I used to buy a leave in spray conditioner for my hair, but the store closed a few months ago and it doesn't look like they are going to re-open at all. Darn it!! It wasn't because of Covid, but a big Clothing Store bought up the whole block of businesses and we lost 3 stores all at once. One of the stores managed to find an empty space to move to, but the others simply closed their doors. So now I can't get my hair product that I just loved. I can get it in another city or online, but they charge an astronomical amount for shipping!! So I am waiting for our next shopping trip to either Victoria or Naniamo and will have to stock up then. Wow wasn't that an interesting tidbit of info NOT!! LOL my life is boring, what can I say?? I actually managed to get my layout finished for the Colour Play and will post it this morning and I hope to get a challenge done today too. Other than that, not much else going on here. Oh yesterday I purchased new shoes for the grands for back to school. My little contribution to help the families out with all the back to school things. Sadie was texting me while I was at the hairdresser, telling me about and showing me a photo of her new back to school haircut! She was not too happy with it and said it was too short, but I told her that it was just hair and it will quickly grow again. I said that by the time they go back to school after Labour Day it will probably have grown at least a half an inch. She felt better about it then. I am so happy that the kids all feel good about talking to me whenever they like and that they can talk to me about anything!

@faerywings - I hear ya on trying to de-clutter your office space! Seems most of the time I just end up moving my stuff from one place to another and leave the room looking the same way as when I started! It is hard to get rid of some precious things, but maybe take a photo of them and then you will have it forever without all the clutter?? (ha, ha I can talk the talk but I don't walk the walk)! I hope you have a nice visit with your BFF today! Yes soon all the kids will be back at school. It must be strange this year to not have your kids going back to classes, everyone is growing up!!

@vickyday - Where did you take your trip in Canada?? It must have been a few years back as I recall the last 4-5 years have all been blistering hot in August.

@Betty Jo - Glad to hear that the vertigo is almost all gone!! Thank goodness right?!! Hope your de-cluttering is going well!

@Cherylndesigns - Hope you are feeling less tired this morning! We have lots of hummingbirds here too and I am filling the feeder almost daily! Reminds me... I need to check the feeder!!

@pachimac - Hope you enjoyed your time with your daughter last night! Does pizza bother your tummy? I had to give up regular pizza crust and found a great recipe for Keto pizza. No gluten for me and gluten free crust has way to much sugar, too many carbs.

Well I better get the morning chores done and grab my second cup of java for the morning. I am sure that Heather and the boys will be calling shortly. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

Good morning lovelies,

I do feel better today. Don't know what was wrong with me the last few days. Chris @faerywings I haven't been sleeping as well, now that you mention it. I had slacked on drinking my tea and decided to mix it up yesterday and started drinking it again last night. I did sleep better. That stuff really works for me. I had just gotten lazy and hadn't gotten all of my jars out and made the effort to mix it all up. I love how we all look out for each other.

I'm glad you only have to go up where the weapons are once a month. I hear you about the never ending mess in the office. Mine always looks like a wreck. I don't know how it happend. I think the little gremlins get in here at night and make a mess. LOL Good news that Scott doesn't have covid!

Trudy @taxed4ever that stinks that you can't get your leave-in conditioner anymore. I was going to suggest looking online, but if the shipping is that high, I'm sure I'd wait until I got to a bigger town like you are. Isn't it great that the grands still seek our advice? I just love it when they share things like this with me. It's so nice of you to buy their back to school shoes. Kids are so expensive these days - I just heard how much it costs to raise one child - it's astronomical! I am feeling better today - like I told Chris, I had been slacking on drinking my tea mixture and I got it all mixed up yesterday and slept better last night. It's hard to believe that something like sleeping poorly messes us up.

Saying hello to all who come on here after - hope everybody is wekk and TGIF!

Well, I was going to start this with "Morning all" but then I realized for our East coast ladies (of whom I am one), it is already afternoon.

I hope that I am about to get a rhythm going again. Syd seems to have adjusted quite well to college life. I do hear from her everyday. Once in awhile it is a FaceTime but mostly it is just a short text message. I'm not sure if she does that for me or for herself. I do know that she misses her dogs so sometimes she just wants me to send her a picture or video. Honestly, I can imagine that would be a very difficult adjustment.

@BrightEyes I don't think that you have heard from the doctor with results yet have you? I keep watching, hoping that the bloodwork holds the key. Glad that you have had plenty of phone time with the DD's. I have noticed that you are back to scrapping...16 layouts, oh my! In my dreams.

@faerywings I'm still trying to de-clutter my office. I've made progress but I have so much more to do! It is such slow going because I need to look at each thing...then usually decide I'm not ready to part with it yet. I'm going to try to use the approach that I used with the music boxes...take a picture and then get rid of it. Glad to hear that Scott didn't come back with Covid. I'm still counting my lucky stars that I am missing that disaster. Hoping it continues.

@taxed4ever I love your relationship with your grandkids. You have managed to use the phone to your advantage in keeping that relationship going strong even at a distance. Your life may be boring now, but once DH is home for the weekend, I'm sure that he will have plenty of projects to keep you busy!

@Cherylndesigns glad to hear that you are feeling better. Sleep (or lack of it) can sure make a difference in how we feel!

@vickyday I'm so glad to hear that Mark got those hours back. It is painful when there is a decrease in income. I have more boxes of stuff from my folks than I know what to do with...and I've done several purges. I'm in the midst of another one now...I am now focusing on how to make sure that my kids don't have boxes of stuff to sort through someday when we are gone. That is helping me to focus on not holding on to every little thing.

I am still not at all sure what I am going to do after next week. Will I find another job, will I find a part time job, will I take some time off and think about it... I do have the trip to Iowa coming up however my plane ticket can be changed without a fee and now I'm thinking that, since I have a little extra time, I might get Brian to drive up there with me. Then swing through OKC to see my uncle who turns 84 this month...I haven't seen him since dad died in 2017 and I don't know how many chances I will have. Had planned to go in 2020 but the pandemic put a stop to that. I guess I'll do some thinking on that this weekend.

See all of you later.

I am a little later getting in here this AM. Had to get my Color Play LOs into the galleries plus CRK's Mamma Mia Pizzeria LO uploaded. Lots of fun Color Play items in the store. Love the colors this month. Yes, I broke down yesterday and fixed a Supreme Pizza for supper. I was still feeling cold around 5 PM so thought it was okay to use the oven for it. Oh... it was so yummy. I added more pepperoni slices to it. Didn't start feeling warm until around 8PM last night. Still haven't heard back from the doctor - so guess I will have to send her a message to remind her to check my blood work. At least the dizziness has almost gone away.

Had to LOL over talk of messy rooms... my craft room is a disaster area. The cutting table is filled with albums and photo boxes that are holding photos I still need to scan into the computer. Plus other computer items that I am not using. Since I moved into DH's office, I don't go into the craft room much. Easier to keep the door closed so I don't see the mess. ;) One of these days when I have more energy I will see about getting it straightened up.

It is cloudy and suppose to have heavy rains this afternoon and into tonight. Not sure when DD#3 is heading home from DD#1's but looks like she will have to drive through rain no matter which route she takes to get home.

I didn't have breakfast and the tummy is growling at me... so off to get some food.

I'm back from three days at the genealogy center at the library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was a trip for a genealogy group with only seven of us actually making it there. We had such a good time and all did lots of research. Two I met in person for the first time and drove with one whom I've seen plenty on Zoom but only once in person before. Turns out he and I get along fine but have very different views on lots of things. Made for some interesting conversation. Now I wait to see if I get Covid, especially as one of the group today tested positive. She had it recently but was testing negative for a while. May not mean she was contagious? So we'll see.

Rae @bcgal00 sure hope you are feeling better and recovering! At least you had a great cruise.

Linda @LSlycord driving to Iowa then OKC sounds good to me. Then maybe you could even see Momma O. Syd is a good kid to at least text every day.

Cheryl @Cherylndesigns amazing how the tea may help you sleep. But for sure not getting enough isn't good for us. How is the pool? Did I miss new photos of it?

Kay @BrightEyes hope your doctor gets you word from the tests! Giving her a nudge is a good idea. That pizza sounds like it was just the thing.

Trudy @taxed4ever sad that all those businesses closed and you lost the source of that conditioner. Wonderful the relationship you have with the grands. Since you can't always be close to them technology makes all the difference to make up for all the miles.

Chris @faerywings very glad Scott hasn't come down with anything from the music event. So nice hearing about your mother and how much better she is doing. No matter the weather you'll have a good time (soon!) at the shore together.

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

It is still constantly blowing a gale and raining here! Everyone is getting very sick of it but especially those people with houses on hills living in fear of landslides. Luckily that's not me anymore having just sold the house .... It's not something I ever worried about living there but it seems like everywhere you go there are slips at the moment.

I am feeling a bit stupid as I FINALLY worked out that it would be a good idea to pay to go see a physio about the shoulder/arm that has been giving me pain for months (ahem .. years ...) instead of downing painkillers/paying for massage and chiro. It's mostly from overuse (mouse work designing and also editing photos plus carrying around heavy camera). Anyway, I had little hope it would really help but she took video of me using my arms ( back fat visuals I could have done without ) and 'prescribed' some exercises to strengthen the muscles I SHOULD have been using all this time. Incredibly, the difference was immediate. I just need to be diligent about doing it a few times a day....

@faerywings I know exactly that feeling of having to go out into the dark and cold making you just a bit grumpy to start the day ;-)

@taxed4ever You made me smile with your story about the conditioner. BTDT! Some of my favourite products are actually from England LOL and in the past I would stock up when visiting but since Covid ... :( And shipping is such a lottery isn't it? You never know what it's going to be until you get through to checkout and it's nearly always a surprise. Usually bad even for local shipping - although I found one site that shipped from Europe for less than it often costs to get something shipped locally. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it!

@Cherylndesigns glad you are feeling better

@LSlycord glad to hear about Syd going well. Hope you find your groove again.

@BrightEyes hope the dizziness keeps up its disappearing act ;-)

@scrap-genie That sounds like a fascinating trip - but fingers crossed you haven't caught Covid!!

Good day, all! A beautiful day here in NC!
I had a wonderful day with my older, widowed friends yesterday. We started with eating breakfast out at the diner in the little town where I live. Monday - Friday they have a breakfast special for $3.99. That includes your choice of bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, your choice of home fries, hash browns, gravy or grits, and your choice of toast, biscuit, or corn bread. I don't know how they make any money on that deal!

After breakfast, we went to the Pierced Ministries Thrift store. We were in there maybe an hour. We each found a little bit. The prices are good. I found 3 dress blouses for $1 each. Ilene bought some pants for $1 each and Carolyn found some ceramic canisters for $3 each. We have decided we are going to take the items we want to donate to them. Goodwill has priced themselves out of our business!

After the thrift store we headed back to Ilene's and played Rummikub the rest of the afternoon (18 games to be exact)! I didn't get home until after 6 p.m. DH had gone to his daughter's to help her do some stuff and ate his supper from Taco Bell. I cannot eat that stuff, so whenever he is grabbing his own fast food, that is usually what he gets. Us girls snacked on chips during our games, so I was not really too hungry. I did eat a Stouffer's frozen meal of chicken, noodles of some sort and pesto. It is my favorite.

DH went to work today. First time he has worked on a Friday in about 2 years! I think he is even going to work some tomorrow! I hope these extra hours continue for quite a while! It will help us get caught up and maybe even save some for Christmas gifts for the 18 grandkids we have between us!

DH and I were going to go to lunch today, but I woke up with IBS issues causing me to hang pretty close to the bathroom. So, instead I am doing laundry and eating very little. Toast, a couple of bites of applesauce, and a few saltines! And the headache is minimal today! Thanks the Lord!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

@faerywings Thanks! Had a great day with my friends, as you read above and found some nice things at the thrift! But it was mostly great just spending time with them playing games and chit chatting ALL DAY LONG!!! It was great! We had not been able to spend the whole day together like that since before I got sick 4 weeks ago! Hard to believe it was that long ago already!
Yes, Mark loves his job and loves the perks he has with this small company. He has worked there since he was 18 and he was 61 this year!
Mark (and Ilene) call the cherry tomatoes, "tommy toes" which I had never heard that name before knowing them, lol! The tomatoes, both the cherry and regular ones, have a wonderful taste this year! Not sure if the organic feed I added to the hole before planting them had anything to do with that or not! And I'm wondering if that had anything to do with how beautiful and lush all of the plants have been this year. Now the cantaloupe leaves are starting to get that white, powdery mildew on them. That's OK. I'm ready to call it quits on all of the stuff, LOL!
Are you still getting rain? Do you need me to pray for more? ;)

@BrightEyes yes, thanks for the heads up info on Bitmoji. I have taken printscreens from my phone and used the images on FB before but have not posted anything directly from my phone. I'm not that tech savvy to figure that one out, LOL! So, hopefully, I am still safe.......however, is anyone always safe in the WWW? Not sure! I think I will just continue to seek the Lord's protective hand in all of that stuff!
Hope your chills are doing better today.....as in not having any!

@taxed4ever We went to Canada in 1978. We crossed into Sault Ste. Marie from Michigan across that loooooong bridge. Where we went from there I really don't remember. I want to say the place/lake started with an M. I looked up some names and for some reason Mississauga is the one that stands out in my mind, but I don't know for sure!
I agree with you. I love it when my grandkids text me pictures, etc. to share what they are doing with me! Makes me feel loved, lol!
Have you ever tried the cauliflower crusted pizza? We like it really well! It doesn't bother my stomach, either, which is a BIG plus!

@Lynn Grieveson Oh no! I hope the rain stops in your area soon! And, my daughter told me this morning that I need to see someone for my headaches as I should NOT be having so many headaches. I agree, but I have suffered with headaches ALL MY LIFE, literally! So, I'm trying to talk myself into taking that step to see someone!
Glad the exercises are helping your shoulder/arm pain!

@scrap-genie I sure pray you don't end up with COVID!!!

@LSlycord Yes, I have thought about that, too.....not leaving a bunch of stuff that my kids have to take care of! But, it is hard to do, I know. I started in my craft shed this spring but life interrupted and I need to get back to that project, for sure! However, at least with that, if something happened, the oldest daughter (who is the crafter like me) could take the whole shed away, LOL! The other daughter is a minimalist and will probably want nothing. And the sons won't care either, LOL!

Hi Everybody! I managed to get a layout done today with the new ColorPlay products. I love the colors this month! And, I'm still decluttering. Nothing exciting going on with me! :D

Yes, @faerywings, it feels so good to scrap again without feeling like I'm going to fall out of my chair. I seem to have more dizziness from EMFs than anything. I would have been bedridden if I hadn't figured out that being in the same room with my computer modem was making me extremely ill, with non-stop daily Vertigo and nausea. I now have my modem in my spare room, and my computer in my dining room. I also don't have my phone lying near me during the day, or by my bed at night. I'm extremely sensitive to EMFs. I only have occasional bouts of dizziness now, compared to daily before.

So glad you're enjoying the little hearts. ♥

And yes, this month has literally flown by! I can hardly believe how fast time is moving these days. I thought it was an age thing, but youngsters like you, my son, and DIL are saying the same thing.

@vickyday Great to hear Mark will be getting more work hours. I'm sure that will greatly help the way prices are accelerating daily. Just read your newest post just before this one. Hope you get over that IBS soon.

@taxed4ever So sorry you can't get your hair products. It's a pain when we can't get what works for us and have to use alternatives. I live on a fixed income, and with prices going up daily, I've been trying new-to-me products in personal care, food, etc. Some work okay, some not so well.

@Cherylndesigns So glad to hear you're feeling better today. What kind of tea is helping you?

@LSlycord I'm so glad Syd is adjusting well and that y'all are staying in touch daily. I'm sure she misses you, and her fur babies. When our youngest left home, goodness, we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We had to learn to be "just" a married couple again.

@BrightEyes I finished a Color Play layout today, and I love the colors this month too. I hope to use CRK's awesome pizza collection at some point.

@scrap-genie Your trip to the genealogy center sounds so very interesting. I truly hope you don't get Covid.

@Lynn Grieveson I'm glad you found help for your shoulder and arm. I updated my camera last year to a mirrorless and also replaced some of my older heavier lenses, as it was getting way to hard for me to carry my equipment around. I also got a Lowepro camera backpack and got rid of my cumbersome old Lowepro shoulder strap bag. I also switched to a lighter tripod. I tried my first Lensbaby creative lens last year too and fell in love with them, and they are unbelievably lightweight. The changes have really helped me physically.

Well, it's my afternoon tea time and then I might just watch a show on ACORN TV. Toodles!! ♥

@Betty Jo so glad to hear your dizziness is better!
Unfortunately, the digestive health doctor told me there is no getting rid of IBS, you just have to figure out what foods to stay away from. My problem has been that something may not bother me this time but does the next time I eat it! **sigh** Usually bland is my safety net!

I had no idea that someone can't get rid of IBS. I have food sensitivities, although I don't have IBS, and it's like you said, something might not bother me this time but does the next. I have to rotate my food regularly and stick to the least processed foods.
