Daily Ooos: Friday, August 25

Happy Friday from yet another cool August day in NJ. It's also pouring out there.

And... it's gonna be a day. Already my dishwasher isn't working and my monitors turned off and on a few times. It's only 7.30 am. The dishwasher issue has happened before and Gary has been able to get it running again but it's only a matter of time until it stops working for good. Then the monitors are acting up and I am getting an alert from the graphics card but it isn't saying what is wrong and the troubleshooters aren't coming up with anything either. So, who knows?

I didn't have much of a successful day yesterday. I went to TJ Maxx and the bat pillow was sold out. I got Caitlyn a small bat-shaped serving basket but I didn't want to get anything else for a house that she doesn't have. I wandered around and around for almost an hour. I got some eye cream for myself. Maybe one of these days I find The One that does something about the ginormous bags I have.

No plans today, it's an inside day for sure. I guess I am going to be handwashing all of the dishes first. Then I have two Color Play LOs to post. I love Color Plays Fridays. ♥ Plus, Sam gave me permission to scarp the photos that she and Scott posted and I know I want/have to do that too.

Today, I am grateful that we got to keep Sam in the aftermath

@LSlycord Oh sweetheart, I hate when the days are like that. Repeats and repeats of the same old, same old. :/ However-- sometimes the same old is better than chaos. I got kicked in the butt many times when I was complaining about boring days and then everything was upended and not in a good way. I am sure you know exactly what I mean.
Of course, you are missing Syd too. My BFF is coming to terms with the same thing about her DS. He is in DC and she understands that chances are he won't move back to NJ. Visits are really just that. Visits. I wish that I had some words of comfort. I can send hugs however and you know that I am.
I just read that you think Syd isn't happy and that breaks my heart all over again for you. Maybe -- hopefully- she just needs a little time to get settled and back in the swing of things. xoxo

@BrightEyes it is really feeling more like fall. Even just the sunlight is getting like that. Poor DD#1 and her voice. She must have really irritated her vocal cords to still be hoarse after 5 weeks.


@Cherylndesigns isn't that the truth, weeds are indestructible! Too much rain- happy. Too much sun- happy. Too dry- happy. Ugh and LOL.
That is excellent advice for Adrienne, Linda, and me too. It's the whole "Oxygen first" and "If mama ain't happy, no one is happy" themes rolled into one. Keep on preaching it to us, maybe it will sink in at some point.

Kay- that's fantastic that your BP is normal! You really do have a mini-library of your own, what did you pick?
ROTFL about not shopping if you are hungry. BTDT! That is another bonus of doing my shopping online, I am not tempted by the bakery dept. The pie sounds really good and I hope you enjoyed the KFC.

I am so happy for Adrienne! Good job, Mama for getting to take care of herself.

Good morning all! Feeling much better today. I wish that I could blame it on hormones but I'm way past that time (which is what I am grateful for today!) so I guess I'm just moody.

FaceTimed with Sydney for a good long call. She convinced me that she has just been tired from getting back into the swing of things. So, of course, if she is happy, I am happy. And Shaun is spending his weekend getting organized for next week so things are looking up.

I made all of the dinner reservations for our cruise and we are 120 days out! Next up, figuring out our shore excursions! Sydney wants to swim with the pigs so I know we will be booking that one. But I want to really pay attention to these and get it right.

It was nice out this morning. The cardinals were at the feeder...of course they were...they are now part of our family. They eat breakfast with us every day. Then they also do afternoon snacks. I am actually quite attached to them. The downy woodpecker comes some mornings but didn't join us today.

Hurricane season is here...so far, nothing going on in our area. Fingers crossed that this will be a slow season.

@faerywings you always make me feel better. I know that you always get me and the are always appreciated. Who knew that virtual hugs were so much like real hugs.

@Cherylndesigns big to you as well. It sounds like Adrienne and I might have a few of the same characteristics. I am a "fixer"...always have been. And I think that I should have about 3 or 4 problems going at any one time to fix. But it is exhausting and I need to stop doing it. I really just can't do it anymore. I appreciate your sharing your wisdom with us here too!

@BrightEyes glad that errands went well and hope you still had time for some reading. And hope that today's BP numbers are still good!

@vickyday you haven't had any game days recently have you? Hoping that yesterday was a great day!

@bcgal00 hope that there is still good activity on the house. Do you have a countdown going for your next cruise?

Wow, finally got all of my Color Play LOs posted! Been awhile since I had more than 1 LO to post in a single day. Glad I had time to work on them over the past week. Of course - since it has been awhile - I ended up missing a FB post with one of them. Boy, talk about being forgetful... I did a post over at JA last night and then FORGOT TO POST IT! Found it sitting there this morning!

Today is a new BP med day (skipping every other day). Will wait to take the BP reading until around noon. In the meantime, I need to get the laundry sorted. I got side-tracked yesterday afternoon and didn't get over to pick up the KFC dinner. Instead I mashed up the bag of avocados and made guacamole. Then I made a cheese quesadilla and topped it with the guac... oh, so yummy!!!

You are correct. It has been an eventful and busy summer, for sure.....not to mention the health problems on top of travel, etc. I'm sure things will settle down come fall!

Fingers crossed this will be a "NO!" season for hurricanes for you and the rest of FL! My sister is far enough inland that it usually doesn't affect her. She has had to board up her windows before. She lives in Palm Bay.

Good morning,
We got some much needed rain last night but it's very hot and humid here today! And Mark is out in it. He came in with his shirt soaked with sweat! Got something to eat and then headed back out. He's cutting up trees on his x-mil's property.
I'm 22 rows away from being able to start the decreasing on the baby blanket! Woohoo!
I got the yarn I ordered for the other great grandchild due the first of the year. They don't want to know what it is, so I had to pick a yarn that will work for a boy or girl. I was concerned because of all the red showing on the one skein, but the lot numbers are the same on all. The bluer ones have more red in the center of the skein, so I think it will be ok.
Pork chops, mashed potatoes and honey carrots for supper tonight.

Good morning ladies. No house showings today so I can relax. I'm going for coffee with the ladies later. We have a showing tomorrow and an agent open house on Tues which will be helpful for feedback on how they perceive the house and the pricing. The house can be on the market for another 5 weeks and then off the market til the spring. Our cruise is 7 wks away. It's a crazy life right now.

I have been enjoying Travelers (Netflix). I make sure I lay down a few times for an hour or so, here and there, to rest my back b/c I've been lifting, moving and bending more, so have to be careful. I have an updated list of homes we want to see and have 4 agents sending me updates every day, so I feel on top of the housing market in Alberta, just need to get ours sold so D and I can hop in the car and drive out for a week or two and secure a home for us.

@faerywings The bat shaped serving basket sounds cute. I'm glad you mentioned Color Play, I haven't even had a chance to look at them. Maybe this wkend I can get a LO done.

@LSlycord My brain is mush, where are you cruising to? I forget. I haven't even booked any excursions yet. I'm looking forward to the trip but haven't had time to deal with plans yet.

@BrightEyes Yum, quesadillas and guac sounds good.

@vickyday Your Mark is always so busy. Enjoy the knitting, I like the red mixed in with the blue/white. Be sure to share a pic when you finish it.

I'd better hop in the shower and tidy up the house. At any time we could get a request for a showing and I don't want to turn anyone away so have to always be prepared on short notice. HAGD everyone.

Popping in for a quick update and I'll TRY to get back for personals. I've been doing battle with my computer since I got up this morning. The Computer Gremlins got in there overnight and messed everything up. My big monitor wasn't working at ALL and I had to start from scratch and set it up again, but I couldn't remember how we did it. I got online on my phone and finally got it sorted out. I yi yi yi yi. I have SO much to do today with CP just coming out last night and this is the weekend and I do the CP on Instagram, too. I was starting to panic. This was me, earlier......
