Good morning, my O-zies!
Hoo boy, I had a busy day yesterday and another one planned for today. And come to think of it, tomorrow too. I guess this is how it will be for a while. It's much better than sitting around doing nothing and complaining about it.

I started my day making an invite for the rehearsal and pizza party. Totally not in the way that Caitlyn wanted it so that's the first task for today, remaking it. I used the PSD from the bridal shower invite but she wanted it more casual. It's funny because that was the way I initially wanted to do it but then ended up not listening to my gut. It's easy enough to do the way she wants, I already downloaded pizza clipart elements before I went in the wrong direction. ;)
Then I realized it was the *perfect* weather to steam clean the carpets which were in desperate need of that. That took about 3 hours. By the time I was done rinsing all of the steam cleaner parts in Gary's bathtub, I had to scrub his bathroom. It's the Faerywings Cleaning Version of "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." LOL! :vacuuming::mopping::housekeeping:
I also ran the self-clean cycle on the oven but at least that only requires me pushing buttons.
My friend across the street texted to see if I wanted to go for a walk with her and YES! I had gotten the update from Caitlyn that morning that her DD (wedding officiant) is bringing her boyfriend to the wedding!! dance4 They live in FL and I am so excited to meet him!! He wasn't sure if he would be able to take time off and was waiting on his school/work schedule. we had a fab time talking and being excited for our girls!
I also (sheesh, just this quick run down is making me tired) wrote the wedding toast and worked on lesson plans.
Thank goodness it was only leftovers for dinner last night ;)

Today is going to be more of the same as yesterday with a little bit of scrapping possibly(???). I have to look for some more photos for Caitlyn, she wants ones that are from when she was 2-3 years old, and most of those are in boxes not on my computer. I'd love to get out for some yard work but I dunno- time seems to be sliding away and out of my grasp.

Wishing you all the BEST! ♥

LOL..The wedding will be just fine...once it starts it just goes, relax and go with the flow it will be wonderful. Relax, breathe and enjoy:dancing6:
That is what I keep telling my DD, once it is happening-- it just goes!
Now if I can only convince myself of that :rotfl:

@mimes1 OH NO! I hope that you are feeling much better soon. All I hear is how cases are increasing and I am incredibly paranoid for the next few weeks.
the first winter Mark and I were here, about the time the leaves were all of the trees and it was grey, cold and drizzly, Mark and I looked at each other and said "4 more months of THIS??? What have we done!!"
Hahaha!! Voluntarily leaving the San Diego area would make me question my sanity too :giggle4:

@vickyday GMTA: Great Minds Think Alike :D Yes, I love the crackle of a fire and it is relaxing watching the flames
I looked at the link to Weis you gave! Very impressive lesson plans! Love reading your info on the staff page!
The lesson plan themes were just a draft and I already have changed and supplemented a lot of them. But as long as they have something on the website to entice people to sign up, that's a good thing. As for my bio-- they copied stuff off of my resume and I eventually want to update it to include some more current items. I get such a kick out of the Weis website seeing pictures of both me and Scott on it.
I am sure that you and Ilene had a wonderful time together even if it was a shorter visit. I hope that you and Mark are both feeling awesome today!

@BrightEyes It's crazy when it cools down to 92* Yikes. The 80* range sounds about perfect to me.
I am chuckling that you are "resorting" to digital frames for the wedding album. Once you know that you can Ctrl-T something, it is impossible to only use physical items, isn't it?
Excellent news about the uncurling photo results!
Can I join you in all your different feelings, Chris?? Yes... those are about right with all that is going on with the wedding plans and the plans for the training at Weis!! I am feeling a bit scattered myself once I realized all that needs to be done on the wedding albums and the time it will take to finish them!! Oh... did I mention that I forgot about granddaughter's wedding photos??? Thank heavens DD#1's (her mom) photos and granddaughter's photo are not curled so they should go faster. :dancing6: :spinningchair:dance4
I love having company as I lose my mind-- feel free to join in
:jawdrop3: dance3 :thud:  :cheer:
And, Chris... you can yell at me as loud as you want... I have a mini-Momma Chris in my brain yelling at me when I am over-doing things. I find myself mummering "yes, Chris... I know I shouldn't be doing...." and then I do take a break. :floorlaugh:
I have the same voice in my brain but I ignore her more often than not. HA!!!!

@taxed4ever Hope that you had a wonderful visit with your friends and have fun with your Gary today! Catch ya on Monday!

Good Morning Lovelies!
I am running out the door to work, yep extra days this week. Need to move. Was having a lovely cup of coffee listening to my friends tell me about their days and poof the time is gone. I want to comment on all of it but running fast!!
I hate when that happens. And it literally just happened. I looked at the clock on my monitor and said, Sheesh (not the right word but using it for politeness LOL) I am running late. hehe
Totally Normal! And like it was said above, once it starts you will have a wonderful time and all worry will be out the window. Its "our babies" and so of course we worry/stress/happy as we want it perfect. :heartpumppink:
Thank you-- I sure do worry about my babies who will always be my babies.

@Terri M Enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts and have fun on the bikes!
The local paper wants to do an article about our damaged bridges on the trail. Most of them have been dragged back into place so the trail is usable but the ramps all need re-building and the concrete foundations need to be replaced. :crying1: So anyway, I need to prepare myself to act like a grown-up and say sensible things instead of raging against the storm.
Good luck and I hope that you get a ton of volunteers and donations to fix the bridges and trails.

Big hugs to all of you who stop in today! :grouphugyay:

Well, you will be doing a bit of "scrapping" as you re-create the pizza party invite!
I need to self-clean my oven, too!
You are a busy bee! 3 weeks left??

Morning, gals. Yes,... it is a beautiful morning. We had rain last evening and again early this morning. It is only 62*F this morning so the house is opened up! It has the clean smell in the air with a light breeze blowing. . . . Wish it would stay like this all day.
Well, a bit of disappointing news on the curled photos... Took the books off the 'trail run photos' and there is still a bit of curl to them... <<< sigh >>> I am going to try using a coolish iron on the back of them to see if that helps them lay flat. It may take a combination of moisture then pressing to get them to lay flat.

The good news is I got DD#3's photos into the photo sleeves (over a hundred of them!!). And printed out some digital frames for the special family photos. Took a couple of tries to get the sizing right on a few of the frames. Now just have to finish cutting the rest of them out. Then do the "Love" stamping on the background papers and adhere the the photos in place. I am very pleased with the soft gray on white frames... very elegant accent to the photos. Hope to finish this group today then will take a break over the weekend... my back needs the time off from leaning over the table.

Good Morning!
Seems like Saturday to me for some reason!
Mark took the car to get the oil changed and the tires rotated and the inspection done.
I'm doing laundry and getting ready to start the self-cleaning oven after I type this.
Got my July monthly review done yesterday. I realized last night that I have not been doing my daily ATCs, so I'm 4 days behind on that! I'll work on those while the laundry is running.
Another beautiful day here! Next week is supposed to heat back up again! But we have had a nice preview of Fall!
Had a great time with Ilene yesterday, even if only for a couple of hours.
Mark and I went back to her house last night and Mark cut down some low-hanging branches on the tree that is next to her house. She wanted to pay Mark, but, of course we would take no money! We told her that is what friends do! They help one another out!
Hope you all have a good Friday! Yes, it's FRIDAY, not Saturday!

GMTA: Great Minds Think Alike :D
HA! They weren't at that time! ;)
The lesson plan themes were just a draft
I thought I remembered you saying you only turned in the drafts to them!
I am sure that you and Ilene had a wonderful time together even if it was a shorter visit. I hope that you and Mark are both feeling awesome today!
Yes, we always have a good time together!
Mark is good, my tummy is IBSing today! :sad2:

AWW! Too bad! I hope the ironing will help!

Well, no scrapping yet for me. Mark just got back from the garage and we have decided to take a bike ride to our Lakeview Restaurant about an hour from here since the weather is so beautiful! WOOHOO!
So much for laundry.....which can TOTALLY wait! LOL!

Just realized that I had 2 LOs for new releases today... Got those done now it is time to get dressed.

@vickyday I would let the laundry wait and jump at a chance to go riding and have lunch with your hubby!! Way to go, gal!!

@faerywings Had to LOL that your first instinct for the invite for the rehearsal dinner was what DD wanted... fun and relaxed. Bet it turns out to be just what she wants.

Got to get dressed and get busy. HAGD

Good morning ladies. I have had a busy week with Remi, trying to keep her quiet. The knee seems to be doing well and we have been pretty successful in keeping her restricted from jumping or running. It's exhausting though b/c I am having to block things off, keep her with me leashed or in the crate or playpen and lots of 5 min walks around the corner for stimulation and bathroom breaks. Poor girl, still severe gastro problems. We have two more days of probiotics so will probably need to go get more from the vet and also more wet GI dog food. She has been keeping me up all night, having to get outside every hour or two but last night I got to sleep for 4 hrs.

The weather here has cooled a bit and I am enjoying it. Afternoons have been mid/high 70's which is perfect for me. I missed a hair appointment yesterday but not surprised b/c in my stressed, tired state, my brain function is a mess. jen watched Remi yesterday morning (D was at a doctors appt) so I could go meet a few gals for morning coffee and then we had friends over last night for Mexican Train game and had fun. Looking forward to a quiet wkend of no activities or visits, just resting and taking care of Remi. I might start getting a few things ready for our trip. It's a month away.

@faerywings The wedding is coming quick! It's so exciting. Oh ya...probably I am due to self clean the oven here too. Haven't done that since we moved in. We need to shampoo carpets too but its going to have to wait awhile.

Hope everyone is well. I'm off to get coffee and maybe read a page or two of my book as Remi naps beside me. HAGD everyone.

Good Morning Ladies!
Quick hello as I run out the door for work again. Going to take laptop with me this time so maybe you'll hear from me later.

It's the Faerywings Cleaning Version of "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." LOL!
This is SO how I clean!!!! Or maybe its more like a dog and "squirrel!"
I sure do worry about my babies who will always be my babies.
No one tells you that adults are harder. You worry when they're little and they say toddlers are hard but no, adult children are harder. The consequences are bigger and they drive. :heartpumppink: Moms never stop worrying.
t is a beautiful morning. We had rain last evening and again early this morning. It is only 62*F this morning so the house is opened up! It has the clean smell in the air with a light breeze blowing
This sounds like total bliss!!! What a wonderful morning!

I agree, but I work Saturdays so I am sure that's why it feels that way for me.

YEAH! That sounds way more fun then laundry!!! Glad you dropped it all and went!
I have had a busy week with Remi, trying to keep her quiet.
I can only imagine how hard it is to keep an active dog down and quiet.

Off and running!! HAGD

I'm still trying to get caught up with you from yesterday. I seem to remember someone who looked a lot like you telling me not to stress. Hmmmmmmmmmm
The wedding will be gorgeous, all of the puzzle pieces will start coming together. Soak it all in without the stress, and just enjoy every second. When you do the ugly cry and ruin your makeup it is just your love overflowing. Breathe deeply and have a glass of wine while getting your hair and makeup done. Please still look like you after makeup, I've been to weddings where I thought I was at the wrong one, because I didn't recognize the bride or a couple of her bridesmaids. You will be fine Mama Faery, you are a rock star!!!!! Everyone seems to know it but you, you go girl, and let all of your amazing shine.
I need to self-clean my oven, too!
Count me in on that!! Holey moley mine is a mess. I save the task for winter when I have the upstairs at 64 during the day.
But we have had a nice preview of Fall!
I love you Vicky, but there is no such thing, I'm with Chris. I've lived in MN my whole life, I know winter comes every year, but it is so much longer than summer. We had that preview too the last few days, but the State Fair started yesterday and it's upper 80's and into 90s with high humidity the from here thru next week. It always gets that when school starts, I don't mind it, or August, or Sunday nights any more.
Mark just got back from the garage and we have decided to take a bike ride to our Lakeview Restaurant about an hour from here since the weather is so beautiful! WOOHOO!
So much for laundry.....which can TOTALLY wait! LOL!
I am so glad you have your priorities straight! Have a 'beautisimous' ride
This is SO how I clean!!!! Or maybe its more like a dog and "squirrel!"
Well, I can't relate to the clean, but I'm definitely an Oh, look a squirrel, Oh look, a chicken person.

We went to the financial guy yesterday and took money out of life insurance to pay for teeth, ugh, ugh, ugh. He had told us at the last meeting that we were over insured, but I would have like to use it for something else. We are still covered until age 105, hubs insisted because my aunt lived to 105. Her kids were way different than mine, she was perky to the end, the way 105 should look. Honestly I'm not interested, LOL, in making 105. The dentist did come into the office a couple days after her surgery so she could have them get me on the schedule. September 5 & 18 are the days. Did I tell you she called me the day before her surgery to see if I was ok after the first work she'd done? Seriously had lost hope there were still people like that in the world.

The disaster that is my hubs family continues, it is just awful to see the way it is crumbling and there is no going back from the point they are at. It's sad, but the strange thing is, with some of them, he's now seeing what I've seen all along.

Could somebody please explain how I spent the morning updating finances and I'm paying SEPTEMBER bills? Holey moley, I don't know where time has gone.

Oh Twin @JeanneMN I hope the family drama doesn't spread too far into your life. I know it is but I can hope the spread stops. Sometimes its "finally" when they see what we saw all along. Its annoying that it takes so long. BUT the blessing is he sees it and now youre not as crazy. Hopefully the boundaries will be placed and held, and you can protect your hubs and feelings better. :heartpumppink:

Sorry youre paying September bills already. I will be doing that soon too. Oh wait, yeah tomorrow LOL Well Monday. Its flying crazy fast right now. I dont know where August went or the summer. But that's okay cause I am weird and am looking forward to snow. Yep. I said it. But with snow comes skiing and snowmachining (snowmobile for my lower 48-ers).

Work is super slow. glad I brought my laptop and EHD and might get some scrapping done but I'm mostly caught up but for my kitchen painting layouts. So not much to do there either. Read a book yesterday so need to start the next in series today. Speaking of reading I saw a crazy statistic. The average person reads 10 books a year!! That seems so weird to me. I think I just finished book 65 yesterday. Love the kindle app on my phone as it has crazy trends like that on there and tracks it for me. I find it creepy it tracks my books but its interesting too. I have read 171 days in a row. No breaks. no missed days. Like I said, it tracks weird stuff LOL

Okay, off to look at some layouts. I've missed being in the gallery the last couple days.

It's been so lovely having the windows open, and night temps low enough to snuggle under the comforter. But I'm pretty sure that by tomorrow the AC will be back on. Oh well, it will eventually be fall.

I made appointments for David and me to get flu & covid shots the week of Labor Day. We should be ready for some travel and get-togethers next month. I also did meal planning and grocery shopping for the next week; usually I just wing it day by day but I found a bunch of recipes that look good. Now let's see how many days I go before falling back into the "what can I pull together in a half hour" old habits. I had planned on doing laundry today, too, but that's moving to tomorrow.

Nothing too exciting, just enjoying the day. Maybe we'll find some music at a local winery tonight.

When I started to meal plan and try to stick to it, I set reminders. The night before to pull out and thaw what was needed, then around noon to prep anything or add to crockpot. It helped but there were (and are) still days of oh no what to throw together and call dinner.
