I am up..so I thought I would get us started this morning!!

I fell asleep on the couch last night about 9:30...woke up at 4:30 this morning...

Chris....don't give your kidney away sweetie...part of your liver is better..it grows back!! LOL!! IKWYM about the paperwork...it's been like that forever!!! Yay for Cait working on the quilt...she will be so glad she did this when she has kids to pass them down to!!

Dawn...AWE sweetie...I am hoping you feel better today!! ((Hugs)) IKWYM about DD...my girls were terrible too before they moved out, but I could deal with them in my "mean mommy" voice...they knew I meant business. With S-DD...it's a little different....

Sally....(((Hugs))) for you too!! I am glad to see you are on the mend...how was digiscrapping class?? "DIGISCRAPPING EVANGELISM"...LOVE IT!! All that class work for the kids is making my head hurt...it did back in school too!! and how totally awesome about your friend and the photoshoots!!

Kat....So happy your meet and greet with the teacher went well!! Wow...Nick playing football!! Here they don't get to play rec club sports until they are 6...so Cameran has to wait another year for football...this seems to be the only sport he is interested in!!

Clara...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ETHAN!!! It sounds like he has a wonderful day planned!! I wish I was turning 7!!! LOL!! M & E??? that is deep stuff for such a little guy!! Hope he does well!!

Thanks a bunch ladies for the advice on S-DD...I may need to incorporate some of these ideas...Biggest problem here is that her mother is a complete nasty slob...that was not nice....but she just doesn't clean or take care of things....one the MAJOR problems of DH and her when they were married. So middle and youngest S-DD's take after her...but the oldest S-DD went the complete opposite direction....she was really affected by the filth and she refused to live that way now....she is OCD about it!! Her house is so clean you can eat off the floors!! she owns here own salon, and works her butt off...comes home and cleans for two hours everynight!! So I would have to say all three of these kids were affected by their mother's laziness!! I will let you guys know if we get anywhere with her!!

Well I am hoping you ladies have a fabulous Friday!!

We are working on cleaning out our storage room today....DECLUTTER!!!! YAY!!!

Good morning LindaW! Thanks for getting us started- but I am sorry that you had to do it at 4:30 am!

it is a rainy and dreary Friday here and none one seems to want to get out of bed. I know I am not a morning person, but it is so totally worth it for me to get up before everyone else and have that quiet coffee/computer time. I can't stand chaos and noise and people talking to me until I have had my coffee. (ok, ok, I don't like any of that *after* coffee, but at least I can deal with it better then!)

Before I get into personals I need to worry/vent a bit. I might even curse so cover your eyes if that offends you ;)

Everything is breaking down in my house. Everything from small and inexpensive to huge and very expensive.
Yes, little things- like my wall charger for my cell phone, to Gary's computer, to our big screen TV.
This is pissing me off b/c these things are not all that "old." my phone charger is less thana year old, the TV is from right after we had the addition done... so 2004....Gary's computer probably a bit after that.
Then it is silly stuff breaking, like I keep dropping dishes, the ABS light in my car is still lit up, even though I think the ABS still works. My brakes are squeaking and I really hope that doeesn't mean I need new brakes.
Our fridge *is* old (over 16 years now) and it is not working all that great......and neither is my computer... oh and Caitlyn's mouse isn't working either.
My watch is about to fall apart and so are my sneakers that I clean in.

Gary and I discussed what to do about his computer when that died. Being that he is home, he picked out a mid-rage one for $600 and put in on the credit card.
Now a week later our TV is shot..... its a 52" rear projection and will cost a ton to have service done on it.

I am so cranked up about everything breaking and not having the money to fix/replace it. Before Gary got sick, we were comfortable. If we wanted something big, like the TV we saved. We *never* had a balance on our credit cards. Now all we seem to do is put more and more on the CC's. I buy next to nothing that is not completely necessary or medical related.
I bust my ass trying to make it month to month.
We had to borrow $5000 from my IL's just to pay some bills, and almost all of that is gone.

*bangs head*
(nope, no metal music, just banging against the wall)

I am trying so damn hard to stay positive, to think that he will get his SSI hearing soon (not even going to the whole what if he doesn't get approved for SSI.... will not/cannot go there)

Ugh.

Sorry for ranting here, but ugh. Just ugh.
I never ever thought I would be in this position. And I HATE it. I feel very helpless and hopeless. And I hate that too .....

Just needed to get all of that out....

*takes deep cleansing breath*
ahhhhhhhhhhh.............

OK, game face is on :D:D:D:D

TGIF to my lOvely O-Fam!
I was supposed to be taking Caitlyn and my mom to the lake today ... with this rain, not going to happen. I guess I am just going to work from home/get some housework done.

That is if I could get the voices out of my head. LOL Nope, I am not schizophrenic/multi-personality disorder.... but seriously- the last couple of days, I have been "hearing" my family calling me, when they are not. Creepy!

Hi Dawn, oh no, this flu seems to be hitting hard and starting early. Hope that you are feeling better!

*interrupting*
What do you all think of the Swine Flu Vaccine? I am conflicted about whether to get my kids, esp Scott vaccinated. He used to have to get the flu vaccine b/c of his heart defect (atrial-septal) but that has not been an issue since his holes are smaller and he is older. But now, in light of his immune compromised system (Lyme/Bartonella stuff), I am nervous for him.
I spoke to hisLyme dr about it in Aug but he was not fully aware of it all yet and wasn't able to give a definite answer. He did not recommend the regular flu vaccine last year- for holistic type reasons, as well as that raised body temps can actually help kill the Lyme bacteria and boost the immune system.

Thoughts??

Davy-- he sounds like the rats we had- they had this awesome multi-level cage. Scott was trying to "litter box" train them, but they would kick and chew that up in no time. (A rat's litter box is a little plastic box that clips to the wires of the cage. You can train them similarly to a dog having a particular "pee spot" outdoors. Bet y'all didn't know that you could train rats that way --- Scott didn't have much luck, but I think like any PT-ing you have to be consistent, not the best quality in 11 yo boys LOL)

Sally- whew! Glad to hear you are feeling better, but don't push yourself. Chemistry- sounds like so much fun. Your kids do rock!!! So do you!!

LindaW *fingers crossed for Traci and Jesse*
I am going to read through all of the advice on S-DD b/c I am sure I'll pretty much say "ditto" LOL

Kat-woo hoo for Nick!!!! Here's to an awesome year!!! How was football?
No hanging heads in shame with Flying- just pick up and start over!

LindaW- ugh about the updates, I hate when that happens. My computer has been showing the "install updates" on Shut Down, but nothing has been installing, I guess that is good!

Happy Birthday Ethan!
Happy Birthing Day Clara!
Isn't it crazy how fast it all goes by?? Seriously crazy!! Hope that your family has a great day.

Chris-big, huge, squishy, squeezy (((((hugs)))))

I wish I had some wise words of wisdom or words of healing. But all I can come up with is...why is it when one thing breaks it's like a domino effect?! I so totally KWYM and understand your pain. I will be sending out good vibes towards you ;). And sweetie pie, feel free to vent anytime, that's what friends are for :).

On another note, I have been having issues with Windows installer, too....now I see you are Chris? And LindaW? What's up with that I wonder??? Mine is a certain error code and I found a *fix* for it and followed the instructions but it didn't work the 3 times I tried it. All I have been able to do is not install the 2 updates that seem to be the problem and just turn off WI the rest of the time. Weird that so many people are having probs at the same time...hmm...

Well...catch u guys later...I'm home again with the ughies.

xoxoxoxo

Linda honey, what are you doing sleeping on the couch? Are you having trouble sleeping?

Oh, and we need to get together over email later this evening!!! Okie doke?! ((((hugs)))) love you my friend :)

Thx for the hugs Dawn! And it really is a domono effect- I wish I knew what was going on with Windows, but it sure makes me wish I had a Mac some days LOL

Hi again Clara. My computer froze up onme so I could finish your personals - LOL about Dave's/Justins.
And ha ha ha.... 2th....funny, funny. *said deadpan*
Nah, JK! I can't even type dates/numbers etc- Ever!!

I love Clara's advice too. I think she needs not so subtle way of getting the hint that she needs to take some responsibility for herself.
of course, I am still working on my own 2 kids with not so much success. Mat=ybe try the "Riley Challenges" in Fly Lday hahahah! I am fwd-ing those emails right on over to my 2, maybe it can work with your S-DD!

Ok, I better run, it is waaaay late here....and I got work/routines to do

xoxoxox

Okay first and foremost (((Hugs))) Chris - you vent all you want and need to :) Get it out....it will only make it worse to hold it in.

As far as everything breaking we are having the same problem but the "Bigger Scale" items....there is absolutely no way we can replace all of these items at once...so hence part of my living in chaos. (((hugs))) It so hard not to let it get you down....but I am sending lots of positive vibes your way!!! Can you feel them....they are coming :)

LindaW - ((hugs)) good luck with S-dd!! Ohhhh Decluttering :) Wooot Woot!!! That is totally my plan for the weekend :)

Football was adorable last night!!! Nick is still so new at it. You have the kids from last year who get it and then the new little ones from this year who haven't quite got it yet. They are the ones doing circles and cartwheels on the field *LOL* Nick was so proud he almost got one of the guys flags last night :) Wooot Wooot! Personally as long as he is having fun that's all that matters to me :)

This weekend is going to be dreary dreary dreary...so I am just going to catch up on my decluttering and cleaning :) Nick and I have a date tonight to watch the Wizards of Waverly place movie should be fun :)

Have a fab one ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning ladies. I woke up with a terrific headache this morning and I decided to put myself on PTO. Work is so busy right now and it has me stressed. I'm sure between that and school starting and the weather changing, this old body just needs some rest.

Chris, I wish I had some words of wisdom to offer about the things breaking down. All I can say is that you are doing what you have to do to get by. If that means that things need to go on credit cards, don't feel bad. You are in extraordinary circumstances that are in no way your fault. You are AMAZING! I don't know how you stay as upbeat as you do! Vent anytime that you need to...we all need to do it sometimes and I'd say that you are more than entitled. Love ya! {{hugs}}

Linda W...bummer about waking up so early! Do you have grandkids coming over this weekend? Good luck with the S-DD issues.

Dawn, that does sound weird about the Windows Installer. Wonder what's going on with that.

Kat, how exciting that Nick is playing football! I remember when Zeb first started playing flag football. It was so much fun to watch. It seems like it wasn't long ago....and yet, tonight, he's playing on the High School Varsity. The time goes too fast.

School update. The first day of school went very well! Both kids loved it and were ready to go back today.

Sydney was pretty worried about how it would go on Wednesday night. I laid with her and we talked about it quite a bit. I offered to draw a heart on her hand so that she could look at it if she got lonely. Last night she told me that she would need a new one this morning. But this morning, when I asked, she looked at her hand and said that she didn't need one. Then, when she got ready to leave, instead of our normal hug and kiss, she blew me a kiss. They are growing up so fast.

Hi girls..I am back...cleaning didn't last too long....guess we can try again tomorrow....DH got a phone call from a friend that needs a bit of help...so he will be gone for a couple of hours....I am going to do some "flying" while he is gone!

Chris....(((((HUGS))))) my friend....I so know all about this stuff...we struggled most of the years of our marriage with 5 kids, child support, medical bills, ect......things have eased in the past two years since he doesn't pay child support any longer...I am sending you some really good positive vibes too!!! You vent all you want...like Kat said..gotta get it out!! The vaccine is a tough call!! I have been urging the girls to check into it for the kids, but with your kids other problems, I just don't what to say...I guess waiting a bit to see what the docs can find out might be the best option...but I know the scary part of waiting and not getting it right away....GEEZ!! Not much help there!!

Dawn and Chris....my laptop is setup to install automatically..first one we ever had that was...came from Dell that way. I might need to change that!! When I called Dell...they already knew which updates were teh problem...had been notified from windows that people were going to be calling. Man...that just stinks...if my laptop had not been under warranty still, I would have had to pay to find that out....I think that if they send the updates...then need to send something saying to uninstall if they are causing problems.!!!

Dawn....I just fell asleep watching a movie, and then got up and went to bed about 11....Just with my sleeping problems, I can't seem to get more than 4-5 hours a night...I am usually up til 1 or 2 every night...and if I go to sleep before 12, I wake up really really early...it stinks...I went to the dr last week, he is willing to put me on a nightly dose of xanax....I am thinking about it!! I may not be able to chat tonight...I will send you an email in a bit...we will figure it out.

Chris....I saw the 2th too..LOL...I was pronouncing it twoth LOL!!

Kat....Ok...maybe we should have a challenge on who can declutter the most!! LOL...of course it depends on how much clutter you have...some may have an advantage!! so far I have decluttered my bedroom and the living room....downstairs is my priority now...guess that is why the S-DD problem is on my mind more....yay for a good football game...can't wait to see pics!!!

Ok...I am off to FLY!!!

LindaS...HI sweetie!! YAY for a great first day of school!!! so cute about the heart on her hand!! What a sweet thing!! and super yay about PTO!!! and yes...Cameran is spending tonight...and I may get Jesse tomorrow night.......just depends on Traci's schedule. ((HUGS)) my friend!!

Hi everyone! First time posting in the daily Ooo's! I love this idea and think it a wonderful way to get to know people around the site!

So, until I start putting names with s/n, I will just go with the s/n, lol.

faerywings- I too will be sending some good vibes your way. Believe me, it WILL get better! And while I am not sure about everything that has gone on already, about the SSI.... I went through the same thing when I was applying for SSD. I am not sure how SSI works, but when I was denied the SSD, I went to a lawyer and he got it for me. Find one that doesn't charge unless they win.

LSlycord- I hope your headache is better! I so hate waking up with one! oh, and LOVE the heart on the hand!

katg1006- have a great movie night! I watched Duplicity with my sister last night. It was good, but not as good as I was thinking it would be. It was either boring or I was way tired...I dozed through a portion of it, lol.

snappy2003- the ughies...feel better soon!

hondachicc- Good luck with your decluttering! I know if it had been me I would have thanked my lucky stars for the interruption, lol.

Today I am doing most of my work on my computer, have a hybrid project to finish and a couple layouts. I really should start printing some more of them out so my DD will be happy! And I am thinking with this chilly day ahead of us I might just make some chocolate chip cookies to send to my DD and her husband. I sent out 2 boxes yesterday with stuff they have asked for, and I have a few things left to send, and I want to send a little extra love in this next box for them and a taste of home. I miss her so much!

Have a great day everyone!

poping in to say hello. I am really really tired today so I may just catch a nap while all the little monkeys sleep :). Little man was up eating as much as he could last night, well he isn't as little anymore! My computer still won't launch but Gunar said he would look at it tomorrow while I am at work. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

LindaS~ That is so sweet with the heart on the hand. Have you heard of the book The Kissing Hand? Though, it wounds like Sydney is doing great its a nice resource.

Hugs and love O's. The couch is calling!!!

Good morning. I have to post pretty quick today so we can get everything done today. Aaaaagh!! Ethan is watching Hannah Montana. He loves her and it is so cute. He was too excited this morning and woke me up way earlier than I wanted to get up. LOL!! But I have to go get ready so that I can take him to a movie in a bit. I'll try an dcome back later. Love you guys!!

Chris - I did want to send you some love real quick. I am sorry you are having to go through all of this. I was going to ask if you guys have considered getting a Lawyer. it could help take out some of the stress and make sure you get all of the back pay and stuff. I am also sending you some good vibes and I am so sorry are having to deal with all of this. Sometimes life is not fair and that just sucks. But all things considered the fact that you can get out of bed everyday, take care of your family and only far apart once in a while is absolutely amazing. I hope that if in the same situation I could handle things half as well as you do. Big hugs girl!!

Happy Birthday, ETHAN!!!!!!

I'm off to take my mom to get an MRI...pray for her...she gets really bad anxiety about it!! :)

love you all!!

OMG - has it really been since Tuesday that I've posted... things have been crazy here... and I'm so tired when I get home anyway, then it's cooking dinner and time for bed... I even forgot to give the kids a bath on Wednesday night... ugh... I'm glad its finally Friday...

Someone asked me in another Ooo's thread about Will's meds... they seem to be working well... he's had a really bad stomachache for a couple of days (one of the side effects) but it should lessen/go away as time goes on... his temper is much improved and no real tantrums to speak of... so things are better...

I'm hoping for a peaceful weekend... need to do some cleaning and laundry if I can muster the energy, but no big plans...

hope you're having a great Friday!

LindaS~ That is so sweet with the heart on the hand. Have you heard of the book The Kissing Hand? Though, it wounds like Sydney is doing great its a nice resource.

That is exactly what I was going to say! GMTA!
I love that book and used it with both my kids in kdg. Even now, when we need a bit extra lovin' Cait and I will do kissing hands.

Good news about Will, Sandra

Clara- we have a lawyer, who calls at least ever 2-3 weeks saying they have no news... our side isready to roll, just waiting on the good state on NH!

xoxox to everyone!

My FIL went through that trying to get disability. It took forever, but he finally got it, plus a big hefty check for all the back pay from his original claim. It is just so stressful getting through until then. I'll pray for you guys that it all comes together soon so that the pit in your stomach goes away soon.
