Hey there, O-zies! I have to make this as quick as I can, I need to get Caitlyn up in a few minutes. I have to take Caitlyn for a minor medical procedure this morning (no idea what it is, she says it is embarrassing. But it is surgical and needs twilight anesthesia so I will be doing all of the driving and waiting anxiously in the car)
Anyway- I had a WONDERFUL day outside!! It was sunny and warm and the air felt amazing and fresh! The ground is still too cold for critters so I didn't get to talk to many bug-friends.

Scott and Gary are both better. Gary was mostly tired with some knee pain but was that the shot or Lyme? [no idea smilie] Scott was worse than he was. He was up much of the night throwing up but was 100 times better by the afternoon, just tired from not sleeping. I hope that Caitlyn reacts more like Gary than Scott and me. Either way, it is nice to not have any lingering effects and to know that we will be mostly safe from this virus.

If you have a quick minute, can Caitlyn get some good healing thoughts? And some anti-anxious mama ones for me? :D
I should have time for personas before we head out, but if not, I am thinking of you all. xo

@LSlycord I love your best day ever- you know you're a mom when... your best day involves the family getting vaxxed and there is a new supermarket in town! ha!! So happy that you didn't get hit hard by the shot. Whew!

@taxed4ever I think you made the right choice- scrapping over bathrooms! Again, you melt my heart with the stories of your boys. Mason is such a dear! His teacher sounds like it too. When I was talking to my cuz- third-grade teacher- she was saying how hard it is and how she's making every effort to be there for kids *and* the parents. I hope that the news w/ your brother is overall very good. hope you weren't upset for too long.
No coffee- just water with my cousin. Neither of us needed any extra caffeine, we were talking a mile a minute. That is what I figured about Heather, people suggested that to me when my kids were little and we were all sick-- I could barely afford food, let alone a helper, But in a perfect world -- that could be a thing. :)
Hoping that you all get vax's asap.

@Cherylndesigns hahaha, 3 hours and we still could have kept talking imagine another "me" with three kids and three dogs to talk about :p I can't even remember why we stopped talking, I know that when Gary was sick but we didn't know why, I did fall off the face of the Earth. For several years, everything here was so... volatile.
The flywheels will be a neat steampunky type of stepping stone, love it! Good luck staining!

@felis yay for all of your good news! Congrats on the prize and the internet.
Doesn't take much for cats to get bored, does it? I don't know if you have seen it or if I can even find it again- but have you seen the video of the cat playing with a toy on a stick by itself? It was hysterical and I immediately thought of you and I *wish* I had saved it.
Right, Cheryl's drinks do sound good and I am not a fan of whiskey either (Whisky: YES! whiskey: nope). Scott has a maple whiskey that smells so good but I don't know if I want to taste it. Bad whiskey experience in my youth :D

Morning everyone, I also have to be quick in and out of here this morning. I have to get my groceries right away and then a quick trip to the craft store as I am getting short on a couple of things. (mostly I just like to wander around the store and look at all the goodies LOL). I have spent part of this morning getting coupons out to the winners of the Avatar/Meme challenge from the birthday and now I look at the clock and I need to get dressed and get out of here! I did get a page scrapped yesterday, but have not been able to get it into the gallery yet, so I will have to do that later on too! Hope to catch up with all of you then! Have a wonderful Friday morning everyone!

In a bit we're picking up box lunches from the senior center. They did a pre-Thanksgiving one that we loved and this is their spring treat. We're going to take them down to the lake for a picnic and some birding since we're having summer weather. Otherwise same old same old, mainly genealogy for me and DH with music group stuff.

@faerywings Chris, hope all is well with Cait today (and her momma not too stressed) and that the rest of you are recovered from the shots. The 3 hours with your cousin must have felt great. And all that time outside yesterday is just what you needed. So glad to hear you got it.

@felis Felis, super that the Internet is back on your computer. Love your latest crochet project. Someone will have to explain how to put a "Love" rather than "Like" on posts.

@taxed4ever Trudy, busy you today! I know you'll have fun in the craft shop.

@Cherylndesigns I agree that the drinks sound yummy, but not my type of thing either, especially since I don't do alcohol anymore normally. The gears and wheels sound intriguing but I have to see the pictures. All that walking sounds good.

Time to get ready, so wishing everyone a swell weekend!

Good afternoon all. We're expecting wicked weather tonight and tomorrow, so I'm going to skip personals today - have to get a lot of stuff inside and we're all trying to figure out what we're going to do if and when it hits. The whole area and south and east of us - clear over to the Panhandle of Florida! Tornadoes, golf ball sized hail - in excess of 80 mph wind - that's pretty bad.

I'll try to get back on later. I've spent all of my time getting my winners coupons sent. LOL

I'll catch up with all of you when I get time.

Hi, everyone... a bit late getting in here today.
Feeling better as time goes on so that is all good. Will be trying to catch up on some scrapping but realized that I need to take it slow. BP went up today after working on a few pages but not into the high range .... <<< sigh >>>.... guess that means I need to space them out a bit more. I see so many delightful kits that I want to play with but will try to be patient as to timing on getting them.

Cheryl, so sorry to hear that you are under hazardous weather. We have had high winds for the past 3 days... with gusts upwards of 50-60+ mph! Lots of dirt blowing around and allergies bad due to the pollen in the air. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that the worse of the weather misses your area. BTW, was looking at the map and think you may be near my DD#2 and her hubby. They are located near Branson, MO in Kimberly Lake area. They are moving into their new house this weekend.

Chris, sorry that hubby and son had reactions, too. Hope they are feeling better quickly. Keeping Cait in my thoughts, too.

Oooops.... DD calling - will try to pop in later.

good evening - sorry I have not been around. I have been in a strange mood. I am happy but the life around me is not so happy. My youngest son was laid off. Here is seems that things are getting better and we have come through with every one doing well and this happens. I am glad he has his MG and the kids. He does not seem to worried as there are jobs he just had to get out there. My oldest son is going through a rough patch with his wife so that is not good. So I feel bad as there is nothing I can do but be there for them. I have been enjoying the weather and walking with Luther. I have been taking lots of pictures. I have been cooking great meals. It is just my mind is on their problems. My DH did the sweetest thing to make me feel better. He knew I was feeling anxious about going to a Devils game. So he got us a box so 7 of us are going. So fun! It will be strange as my Devils traded away two of their most veteran players. I now have the youngest team in the league with the avg. age of 24 yrs. I guess I have to look at it as they are getting experience. I have been doing a lot of reading of romance novels and watching hockey. But on the good side I am going to hang with my son and his MG and kids at an aquarium and then walk on the NJ board walk. Always good to go to the shore. Sunday is a bridal shower so that should be fun and then at night the hockey game. So a busy weekend.

Waving to all!

Hello again. @BrightEyes Kay, I'm so happy that you're feeling a little better. I know it's hard to take it easy, but that's the thing to do. Maybe you'll be ready to get back into things by Monday.

The wind is SO strong here, too. Sounds like you've had the same thing we're having/getting. I just took Daisy for a walk and it was really blowing hard. I think they've revised the forecast a bit for us - sounds like it's been downgraded for this particular area. Who knows though? It's moving more towards the FL Panhandle. Those poor people in the New Orleans area are supposed to get the brunt of it.

The girls still came over and we didn't take the unfinished shutters up to the barn, but we laid them flat on the front porch. Anything that could blow away, we laid down and tried to put heavy stuff on top. Of course, my wheel is now in my living room. That will be over in the next county if we get any worse wind. It looks so good in here that now I want one for inside. LOL

We do have a tornado shelter on the property. Just in case. of course, it's probably full of spiders and snakes. I think I'd have a heart attack if a big snake crawled on me in the darkness, anyway. It's just a hole in the side of the hill and it's there's not even a door on it. ICK!

Jean @scrapgenie - I'll send pictures as soon as I can get to them. They're very cool - I call them gears but the guys said they were flywheels.

Storm moved through - lots of rain and wind and some hail, but it's gone for good, we hope.

@faerywings I loved the "you know you are a mom" comment. I was one month shy of 48 when Sydney came home. What I wanted more than anything was to be a mom. I was 49 when Shaun came home. I am a mighty old mama (which might explain why I am always tiredo_O) but the joy that they have brought into our lives is so very incredible.

@nancyr I am so sorry that your kids are having a rough patch. And I understand how that follows for you. A day at the Shore should do you good!

@Cherylndesigns I hate the tornado weather. When I was a kid, we didn't have a basement. And, of course, we didn't have the warning systems we have now. The weathermen knew a tornado was coming when it was pretty much there. Of course, they now tell you days in advance...but let's face it, you can't plan for it days in advance because most of the time it is nothing. Now, in Florida, we occasionally get warnings but not something that I am worrying about because these sure aren't the tornados of the midwest.

@BrightEyes your daughter lives in one of my favorite places in the world. I love Branson and Table Rock Lake. We used to have family reunions each summer at a resort near Kimberling City. I'm glad you are feeling better. Just need to figure out your new pace.

@scrap-genie I was going through some of my genealogy stuff and found a couple of pictures of my great grandmother and great grandfather on my dad's side. I didn't even realize that I had these. I looked at the envelope that they were in and I got them in the fall of 2005. Which is the same time that we brought Sydney home. I must have just stored them away and that was the end. Trying to figure out what to do with all of this genealogy stuff...my kids don't care and my nieces and nephew could care less. Who will get all of this stuff when I die?

@faerywings I'm glad that everyone is feeling better at your place. Hope Cait did ok with her procedure. And I'm so glad that you could really enjoy some outside time. With all of the containment we have endured...we all need the outdoors!

@taxed4ever Trudy, remind me when your birthday is. I am sure that it can't be long now, although I think it is after your FIL. It is number 65 correct? Is that a big deal in Canada like it is in the States? When I was growing up, 65 was when we switched to Medicare and retired. Now people retire at different times, and if you want full Social Security benefits you need to go just a bit longer. Medicare still happens at 65. Anyway, have you ordered your new machine to make cards? Are you one that will open it right away, or will you need to wait for your birthday?

Hi there @scrapinmom! Chasing a busy two year old sounds exhausting and wonderful!

Ok, Chris has probably opened the weekend thread already. Then I'll have to come move all of my chatter over there.
