Happy Good Friday, and TGIF to all of you!

I know I am late here this morning, but the kids didn't have school and I don't have to be at work until 9, so I decided to sleep in... until 6:30. Wow. hehehe. Honestly, any extra minute of sleep is good!

So, my dear therapists.... I found out that I am not the only crazymom thinking that I am scarring my kids for life. My friend called me b/c another mom is having similar issues with her DD, trying to find that very thin line of balance between mothering too much and letting go too early. So glad it is not just me..
Last night was Cait's semi- she looked beautiful- I did her nails, and we had so much fun just laughing during that. She came home from school and her first words were "I didn't go swimming, Mommy." LOL That girl gets me, for sure.
I posted a few pics from last night on FB, but this one sums up my daughter best:

She is a nut!!! :D

Off to clean in a bit here, them my mom is coming up to bring me my Easter Pie!! Yum!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to eat it. I might use that as my food photo for the April Camera Corner Challenge. mm mmmm!

Finish it Friday- I still have 2 more pages to do for the book I am making for Christopher, my godson. I am going to use Persnickety Prints since I am cutting it close to when I need it. They seem to have a fast processing time and I know how thrilled all of you are using them.
Do they ever have coupons on books?

Hope you all have a very wonderful day!

So many people say that we look alike, and I never see it. But for some reason, in that photo of her, I do! Is it a Rorschach Test for me, that I think my dd is a kook, so I must be too?
:D

MOrning Chris- I am off today- gift to myself- love the photo- I gifted myself with the garden trip yesterday- so today- finish- housecleaning and taxes!!

Good morning and happy Friday!

This week sure did fly by in a hurry. Lots of errands today and forgot hubby was off too.............good, he can take half of the list..........mmmm, then again, maybe not!

Chris- that is a fun shot and can't wait to see the cool page you create with those colors! I also have some pages I need to print at PP and have always been very happy with their prints and service.

Laurie- Enjoy your day..........after the cleaning and taxes that is! Hope you enjoyed the garden trip.

Have a great Friday all!
Donna

Chris. everything you said about your daughter says LOVE. and love going both ways. chill. love LOVE that photo!

Laurie, i now want to go see that place where the garden is!

Hi, Donna! are you back on "i'm home" time yet and not going to Carolina in your mind?

we leave to drive 2 cars to D.C. in an hour or so. THE GRANDMEN APPROACH!! they're probably on a plane right now. probably won't see them tonight but will before we leave D.C. tomorrow morning to drive back home. then they will all drive up to my house for 5 days!. let's see how gramma does with 4 YO and a 2 YO in the house. not to mention the two 30-somethings!

say a prayer for me and hubby on the road. the beltway is always an adventure....

Happy Friday!

Hi my O-Fam! Back for personals-

Laurie- Enjoy your day! What did you get at the garden store? I need to "plant" vicariously since I don't have the money this year to get anything other than some herbs.

Donna- I am disappointed with the colors in this- I was in a hurry and the girls don't like to stand and pose, so I shot everything on Auto. I have been trying so hard to use manual, but I figures I could process them later. But yeah, she is a fun kid.
Good luck with your errands. It could go 2 ways-- faster with your hubby, or twice as long with your hubby LOL
If I brought mine, it would also be twice as expensive hahahh!

Eva- hugs sweetie. It has been a rough month for you and your family. Hope it gets better. I know that Easter must be a very special day for you and I hope that the message of rebirth is helpful to you all.
Is you ds on ADD meds? I know that they can really mess with a kid's appetite and metabolism. Maybe he just needs them to be adjusted? (hopeful smile). 27 lbs is a lot for a kid in that amount of time. Hopefully all of those tacos will make him eat! Since mykids have always been so thin, their peds have recommended that I use whole milk instead of skim, cook with butter, use olive oil, etc. Of course that was easier when they were little and would eat what I put on the table. Good luck!
Happy anniversary!!!

Laurie- we pretty much told the kids the same thing re: scholarships/loans. But scott's grades are so bad it will be a miracle that he even gets into a community college at this point. :( We'll just have to cross that bridge when we get to it.....

Linda S- Retirement!! Aaaahhh!!! Don't scare me like that! LOL
I did the same, worked at college for some extra money and all summers. Every little bit helps, right?

So- we spoke to the new case mgr for our mortgage....This guy is on the ball. The other lady had our account/case on Hold since November!! Even though we had been spending on paper work on a regular basis. He found one form that she had been asking for somewhere in our file and checked that one off. Sent us another form that we never saw or heard of.... Crazy!!! He said that he will try to expedite out request but I have heard that line before from other agnecies:/

Phyllis--- wha??? OMG- this word truly is upside-down! Only in America can you be expected to pay more for tuition because you did the right thing and saved. When we were waiting for for Gary's disability hearing, we literally were living on my salary of $1000/month. I looked into applying for food stamps, but b/c my kids have a small savings plan for college, we were not eligible- too much in assets. I refused to drain their accounts so I could get an extra $200/month for groceries. Its like you do the right thing- try to prep for the future, but you can't live for the day. SMH.

A week on the recliner with some good books and movies sounds like a plan!! Hope you have a great day, how many more days until you see the grandmen?? I honestly don't know how you do it. if my mom doesn't see my kids every other week she goes a bit nuts. LOL Which is why she is coming up to bring me Easter Pie (really, to see them!) today. ;)

Good thought, Phyllis re: blood sugar, that could be a reason for weight loss like that. Does Type 2 run in the family?

parenting is just too complicated
Understatement of the Year.

Why does no one tell you is is sooooooo much harder to parent a teen than a toddler????

Yay for sleep Kristy!!!!

Trudy , I love you back!!!

Karen- it got cold here in NJ again too, I want the summer weather back!

Nana-- hope your tummy is better today. (((hugs)) Ya gotta keep telling the funny stories, b/c man, they are soooo funny! Ass Killer...... :pound:

Hi Maureen- so nice to see you back inhere again!! Being sick for a whole month really sticks. Your eater dinner sounds like it is going to be wonderful! I love asparagus but I almost never make it.

J- gentle hugs to you! Sorry that your family really let you down :( I don't know if your $$ exchanges are much different than here in the US, but I charge $75 for a 4 5 BR/2.5 Bath home. Takes me about 4 hours to do but that is why I would never charge by the hour.... I could poke around all day and get nothing done. Hope that you have a wonderful day and can breathe again with YMG being back home.

Gotta run, love you all!

Morning Peeps

Yes, I got up a bit earlier today. Nothing planned except the hard boiling of a bunch of eggs for Dick to make deviled eggs for Sunday. He is going to be out a good bit today, so I can get some stuff sorted out w/o someone needing to be in the kitchen a couple of times a day. kwim?

I made him gumbo (from a mix) yesterday and a lentily bean soup for me (Bob's Red Mill mix). His was salty beyond belief...darn mixes...and mine was great. However...I ended up spilling the bag of lentil stuff after dinner and had about a cup of the darn little things all over my wood floor. Know what happens when you try to vacumn those critters? They shatter and fly everywhere. I suspect I'll be finding the little chips for a while...sigh.

back to ya for personals..ciao

Chris, yes I see you in her both in looks and personality. You'll never convince me you were/are a shy violet.

Photoshop those colors. I'll try and see what I can do from the screen shot.
btw, what is an Easter pie? even not knowing, I want one cause I suspect it is an Italian dish…

Laurie, get that cleaning and takes done quickly and enjoy the outside again! You'll deserve it.

Donna, some days are just errand days aren't they, and sometimes, it is easier to do them oneself. Love that avatar btw.

Phylis, take a deep breath as you get close to DC. You know it's always wacky but hopefully a lot of people will have left for their holiday on Thursday. Take deep breaths and know you're in my prayers more so for the coming days with the additional 4.

Now, I think it's gonna be a youghurt and granola morning and then get caught up with my weekly layouts. ciao

MOrning again- 3 miles- watched last nights touch episode - quote coming to a layout near you! Any and all who want to fly/drive into cbus (Columbus) I would love to do a garden center trip- it is not really a store- it is a preserved home and garden in Mansfield OH- formal gardens- fountains, statues, from early 1900 era- beautiful, restful- and for $40 per year I can go when ever I want that it is open- otherwise $5 per car- I believe in saving these beautiful places(another fave is Sonnenburg Gardens in Canandaigua NY). This is the first time I used last years membership and only 2 times the year before, but it was my mothers day gift to myself and continues to be. Seriously we could pick a weekend or Thursday and I could make it happen! Photos will be forthcoming.

Morning everyone! A day to sleep in and I am up at 5:45?? Oh well it gives me alone time on the computer while my MG snores in bed. LOL

Chris - I love the photo of your wonderfully wacky daughter!! Those colors are to die for!! Yes she does look like you, and I bet she has the same personality as her great mom!! Easter Pie? You will have to post the recipe for all of us! Hope you have a quick day at work and get to enjoy the rest of the weekend!! Hope you find a coupon for your photo book!!

Laurie - What a nice gift for yourself!! I would love to join you for a garden trip, but sadly the cost of airfare is ridiculously high for us! We often cross the border to get better flight deals!

Donna - love your new avi!! Good luck witht he errands today, give your hubby a few of them just to keep him busy!!

Phylis - The countdown is on for seeing your grandmen!! You must be so excited!! Please drive carefully!! Sending good thoughts that the highway will be relatively quiet and you will have smooth sailing!!

Maureen - Deviled eggs!!! yummm, I love them, but rarely make them, not sure why? I guess because I would probably eat all of them myself. :becky: Looking forward to seeing your layouts in the gallery!

Nana Linda - Hope your weekend goes well and that you are feeling better, you will be busy with the kids out of school! Hope to see you in here sometime over the next week!!

J - You should have called me!! I am not that far away and would have gladly come and spent some time with you!! Sorry that your family let you down! Glad that your hubby is back home with you and you are feeling less worried!!

Well I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be facetiming my sweet grandbabies lots over the weekend, looking forward to seeing what the Easter bunny brought them. Hope everyone finds some sunshine today!!

Happy anniversary!!!

Nope - he's not ADD - he's got Aspergers ... no meds. I still think the main problem is that he's either lazy or incapable to make food himself. Good thing I think is that the school nurse talked to him. It looks like he realized himself that he's not eaten enough. Hopefully he will keep up that.

LOVE that photo of your daughter ... and I can see the resemblance (she looks just as crazy as you are ;) ) ... Makes me wanna dye my hair and dig out my old Dr Martens and go all PUNK again. (Mid-life crisis???)
