My goodness, i am happy that it is Friday as well as the last couple of daus in April, I just want this month to be over.

I was in another cranky mood yesterday, on and off. But you will all be very proud of me. :humble:I texted BFFATS to see where she gets her hair cut in town and if they were affordable. After lunch, I walked in, got a trim, walked out a half hour later, and only spent $22. The color still needs to be done, but at least the dried and fried ends are gone. I couldn't do anything with it except a braid, and even that was becoming impossible b/c the ends just tangled up completely.

I am also almost done with the pine cone zinnia Pinterest "craft" that I started what, 2 weeks ago? hah!! They are going to be the Mother's Day gifts for the moms. I hot glued them to fake stems, and will pop them into little glasses or vases that I am going to get from the thrift store.

Side note: Why does hot glue have to be so hot? My poor thumb!!! LOL

i tried a new recipe form Pinterest too, Caprese Calzones, and everyone seemed to like them. They didn't look as pretty as the pics, but then again, when do they?

My mom is coming up today and we are going to go to the warehouse to get trail mix and the bulk package of Off spray. We go through that stuff like water. Before Lyme, I was all about the all-natural no DEET bug repellents. Now it is - what is the best way to keep them off of us, who cares about chemicals, ticks are way scarier than DEET!. How things change... *wink*

i also need to find something for my godson's b-day. I made him the photo album but have to get him a gift that he will actually appreciate as a 5 year old. I think I am going to have a bunch of people here for dinner, Leah is coming up this weekend, Cait is going out after dinner and Brendan is off of work today. I think baked mac and roasted chicken will do it.

That is about it here, the fun and excitement never ends heheheh!!!

More tree hugger-y goodness for today:
Today is Arbor Day! Arbor Day has been celebrated since 1872. A journalist named J. Sterling Morton created this holiday to encourage people to plant trees and to raise awareness about the importance of forests and plants. The first Arbor Day took place in the state of Nebraska, and local newspapers estimated that one million trees were planted that day!
Today, Arbor Day is a worldwide celebration. People celebrate this holiday by volunteering their time to plant trees or donating money to preserve forests. Many schools plan a variety of Arbor Day activities like essay contests, art projects, and fieldtrips to local parks to get kids engaged in this important campaign.
To celebrate Arbor Day, plant a tree in your yard or send a free Arbor Day eCard to friends and family. Happy Arbor Day!

Kat- sorry to hear Stan is having similar issues. Scott went through this too when he was in 8th grade. He was on home instruction due to his Lyme for several months. He couldn't wait to get back with his friends, but several months when you are 13 is along time and they had moved on, where for him it felt like he hadn't left.
My advice to my kids was always it is better to have 1-2 really close friends than a bunch that aren't as close. But that doesn't always make them feel any better, esp. if they feel like they are losing the close ones too :(
I have this image in my head of me spinning around in circles with a bottle of Miralax over my head, flinging it in all directions!LOL
Hope that you got some motivation yesterday and that it keeps going today.

Trudy- a 3 hour hike, that is really impressive! I would be on the floor after that and unable to get up! I am so darn proud of your and SIL for going all the way to the top. :high5:
Thanks for the hugs. My friends are in this "only think positive things and all good will come to you" mindset. yeah, I have tried that, still do, but it is hard to maintain that when there is so much s*** flying around everywhere.
(Damn, that Miralax!)

How did everyone's hockey teams do last night? It is weird thinking about hockey without Nancy :)

Rae- I am really glad that you are finding a good balance with work, dogs and scrapping. I would LOVE to grab a travel mug of wine or coffee, or Irish coffee and wander around with the dogs and cameras, chatting all the while.
Good luck finding all of your supplies to pack and have a fantastic weekend!!!

:jaw:

I just scrolled down in the other thread, and saw your photo!!!!! That put a huge smile on my face!!!!! breathtaking~!!!!!

:jaw:

More scrolling....

Trudy! Oh wow, these photos really make me sooooo happy!!!!!! I love al of the nature and green and water flowing and flowers and all that goodness!!!!!!

Thank you all so much for sharing them!!!!!

PS: Scott is still kicking around ideas for a career, and had been thinking about botany. He loves gardening, has his own collection of plants growing in his room, does peppers etc in the summer outside. Loves messing around with cuttings and clippings and cloning them. How awesome would it be for me to have a botanist in the family? :D

off to drive Caitlyn to school, she has stuff to bring in to the preschool.

Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. I'm going to be off the computer most of today as I get my work done and get supplies ready to take this afternoon to the trailer. Not sure if internet will be hooked up tonight or tomorrow so I'll be offline for at least part of the weekend.
Looks like I might be relaxing tonight with a good book (Night Film). Tomorrow will be fun. We'll deal with the cable/internet stuff, get some groceries and then head over to casino. We don't go often this year b/c of the terrible rate of our dollar so this will be a fun treat for us.

Chris - hope you have a relaxing peaceful weekend. You've had a rough week.

Trudy - that hike must have been so much fun. What great exercise. Love the photo you shared, such a gorgeous view.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I'll check in when we've got our internet hooked up at some point over the next day or so.

Morning all... cloudy and dull here this morning, but at least its not raining yet. I hope to get to the nursery today and purchase my petunias before they are all gone. I can't believe how early we are getting everything planted this year, its crazy!!

Chris - T.G.I.F. sorry you were cranky yesterday! But how great that you got your haircut and now it must feel so much better to not have those dried ends!! You should just get Cait to help you with colouring your hair, I bet she would do an amazing job! Glad that the photos made you so happy, wasn't that photo of Rae's just spectacular!! She has quite a talent with her camera!! I really should take my good camera with me on hikes, but its so darn heavy. Perhaps one day I will get a smaller camera that takes good pics, ya perhaps when I win that dam lottery :becky:

Looks like so far its just Chris and I in here this morning, ok all you lurkers, don't be shy and join in

Hey everyone! Sorry I was MIA for a bit. Been a hectic few days.

Got the scan results. My gallbladder is only functioning at 29%. It's also inflamed and starting to thicken. They've determined it's chronic cholecystitis. Referral to the surgeon to see if she wants to remove or treat with antibiotics etc. I would prefer it to come out because I just want to feel better so we will see what the surgeon recommends first and the evaluate.

I'm very confused as to why my gallbladder AND inner ear both seem to have gotten an infection. Makes me wonder if it's connected at all. Weird.

I'm going to be really busy this next week with my dd's school and my DS' band trip. I will check in when I can.
